Ok, I demolished this novella. It felt like the first pumpkin spice latte sip of the season - sweet, warm, with a bit of a bite.
As an avid baseball fan, I’ve always fantasized about what it would be like to date a baseball player and this story gave me quite a taste. Complicated, exciting, fun, liminal, sexy…
One of my favorite aspects of the story was Danny’s yearning for Red. I really loved how all-in he was from their very first connection. The will they, won’t they really tugged at my heart strings all the way up until their final rekindling (poor Sofiia, haha)

Rules are a very big part of Delaney’s life. She rarely breaks them. When she reconnects with Danny, a guy from her childhood – he was a few years older and she always crushed on him – as an adult now, she gets him to see her as a desirable woman and they begin an affair. One he wants to keep going after what she tells him it’s just a one-night stand.
Danny, a pro-athlete, is used to the attention of the masses and rolls with it. Delaney is not and wants to keep it that way. As an ultimate rule-maker, she says they can continue seeing one another whenever Danny is in town, but it has to be in secret, and they will never go out in public together.
Reluctantly, he agrees.
Two years later and they are still going strong- in secret and with no strings attached. But Delaney senses a change in Danny and what she originally wanted as just one night, now turns, for her, into a what the heart wants situation.
These two are combustible on the page from the first time we meet them, and that heat boils over as their story continues.
Told with the attention to detail I love about O’Shay’s work, and the way she makes the setting a character in the story, FALLING FOR YOU is the perfect reading start to the BER months.

Falling For You was such a delightful surprise. I went into this expecting a quick, spicy little baseball romance that would give me some attractive athletes, a few steamy scenes, and a charming autumn backdrop. I got all of that plus a genuinely lovely romance between two people who already have an established history together but are still figuring out how to take the next step. The emotional conversations about family, grief, abandonment, and feeling worthy of love gave the story considerably more depth than I expected from such a short novella. Those quieter moments by the fireplace ended up being just as memorable as the spicy ones. So if you're looking for a quick autumn read with cozy fall vibes, a sweet romance, emotional vulnerability, and one extremely attractive baseball player, Falling For You is an easy recommendation.

What I love about Charlotte’s characters are that their voices are true and they are very believable. And of course the “spice” is red hot. Coming from a big family, I can identify with the Fortunato clan. O’Shay knows how to hook you from the first page. This is a quick, fun, hot read and I highly recommend it. By the way, she knows her baseball!

I read this in one day. Perfect length perfect story and love how you truly understand who each character is with Charlotte’s detailed character development. Danny is hot and I wish I knew him 🔥🔥🔥
