Lee has always been captivated by the "what ifs" of life—how a single moment or a shift in timing can alter the course of a lifetime. This fascination shapes her contemporary fiction, including their debut novel, The Red String, a decades-long story of love and misaligned timing.

Lee lives in Norfolk, VA, where she balances writing with dogs, beach walks, and spending time with her tribe. She loves connecting with readers who aren't afraid of a story that pulls at the heartstrings.

Lee is currently working on her second novel, a historical fiction look at the Lizzie Borden murders.

A beautiful story

The Red String is a beautiful story that makes you feel all the feels. I loved the storyline and how it took us on a ride full of love, grief, hardships and the journey of coming back to each other. The concept of the red string and its role in the story was beautiful and the writing was so powerful, I couldn’t put it down. I loved this book!

I devoured this book in just a couple of sittings. The story is about love, loss, grief and second chances in later adult hood. It is written in a memoir-style with very easy to read paragraphs that make you not want to stop reading. I think I was confused initially on who the narrator actually was, the author or was it a work of fiction. The female narrator was never named.

It is a deeply intimate story that really moved me, particularly later in the novel where the couple finally create a life for themselves together, only to feel it being snatched away again by illness. The red string analogy works really well, the ties that bind us, how we often play tug of war in relationships and sometimes those ties become old, frayed and broken - needing a little help to repair it back together.

Congratulations Lee on your debut and thank you for sending me this.
