A heartwarming, small town, magical cozy mystery. Every book in the Quillhaven series can be read as a standalone.
Hollywood has arrived in Quillhaven . . . and the magic is ready for its close-up.
When a film crew descends on the enchanted shores of Starfall Lake to shoot a summer romance, bookseller and witch Annie Hart expects a little harmless chaos. What she doesn't expect is a midnight kiss scene that goes spectacularly, magically wrong — leaving two famous actors frozen like statues, shimmering lips sealed, no breath detectable for a terrifying twenty-five minutes.
Someone swapped the prop sparkle powder for real enchantment. Now the production company is threatening to sue the town, the lake's ancient magic is growing dangerously restless, and Annie's suspect list includes a fiercely protective stylist, a brooding stunt double, a visionary director with suspicious sketches — and one wide-eyed intern who can't stop finding her way back to Spellbound Stories.
With snarky Siamese cat Leo convinced he's been discovered by Hollywood and his graceful sister Luna quietly steering the investigation, Annie races to uncover the truth before Quillhaven's summer spell turns into something no one can undo.
For years, my husband and I would spend a few weeks at his uncle’s cabin on a lake in a small town in Vermont. We looked forward to the people we would see each year. Some were our age, and some were the age of our parents, and we loved spending time with all of them. Whenever I read one of Tessa‘s books, I feel as if I am going back to that small town in Vermont and revisiting our friends. I love the fact that the crimes committed in the book are not murder, and I love revisiting all of the friends I have made in these books. I look forward to seeing how their lives in Quillhaven have changed since my last visit, and I look forward to meeting the newest members of the Quillhaven community. Once again, I get to see my favorite Quillhaven friends. As always, there is magic, talking cats, romance, and mystery. I love the fact that the person who had been responsible for all of the community’s problems had not done so intentionally, and that this person was able to redeem themselves. I love that this book, as always, had a happy ending. I received a copy of this book in advance for an honest review.

🫶 This was an ARC copy given to me by the author. 🌟 It's my privilege to give this book a 5/5 rating❣️
Tessa Silver returns to the enchanting community of Quillhaven with another skillfully crafted cozy mystery, proving once again why her series is a fan favorite.
Opting out of traditional murder mysteries in favor of high-stakes magical mishaps, Silver crafts a narrative that is as inventive as it is charming, capturing readers' attention from the very first page to the last. The tranquility of the town is thoroughly upended when Celestial Productions descends upon Starfall Lake to shoot a magical summer romance.
Annie Hart expected the usual harmless chaos of a production company in town, but things take a shocking turn during a midnight scene when the two lead actors share a kiss that goes spectacularly, magically wrong, leaving them frozen in place for twenty-five minutes due to an enchanted lip-gloss switch.
With a disgruntled studio threatening a lawsuit, the town’s founding witch statues acting up, the local lake's magic turning dangerously restless, and a wide array of intriguing suspects, Annie faces her most challenging case yet. Silver excels at world-building and character development, surrounding Annie with a rich and quirky ensemble cast. Newcomers include a brooding and secretive stunt double named Ronan, a visionary director with suspicious sketches, and Sara, a wide-eyed intern with dormant magical powers who keeps finding herself drawn to Annie's bookstore, Spellbound Stories.
Following an agitated designer's sudden departure, Willow steps in to handle the film's wardrobe. Familiar faces like Leo, whose enthusiastic and vocal campaign to land a background role provides wonderful comic relief, and Luna ground the story in the comforting continuity of a beloved series. Complete with clever red herrings, tight pacing, strong connective friendships, light romance, and an atmospheric small-town setting, this novel delivers on every front.
Silver seamlessly blends light-hearted speculative elements with inventive magical puzzles, making this installment a triumphant addition to the series.
Both longtime readers and newcomers will find much to treasure here, and the book is highly recommended for anyone looking for an engaging, non-murder cozy mystery.
A Hollywood film crew descends on Quillhaven and Starfall Lake planning to shoot a summer romance set in a magical town. Annie Hart does expect some harmless chaos, but is shocked when a midnight kiss between the two main characters goes absolutely and spectacularly, magically wrong. The two actors kiss and freeze in position for twenty-five minutes. It turns out that someone traded out the prop sparkle lip gloss for something with a real enchantment. Now the production company is threatening to sue the town. In addition, the lake's magic is growing dangerously restless and Annie's suspect list is varied. There's a fiercely protective stylist, a stunt double with a tendency to brood, a visionary director who has suspicious sketches, and a wide-eyed intern who keeps finding herself at Spellbound Stories. With help from Leo and Luna, Annie races to uncover the truth before the spell turns into something she can't undo.
I've absolutely enjoyed this series and this book's no exception. The book was well-written with well-developed characters and a fast-paced plot. I was drawn into this captivating story and kept hooked from beginning to end. The mystery was intriguing with lots of twists and turns and multiple red herrings. I was delighted with the small town setting, the connective friendships, and the light romance. I loved this book and am looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend both book and series.
LIGHTS, CAMERA, SPELLBOUND! This is the fourteenth installment in Tessa Silver's "A Quillhaven Magical Cozy Mystery" series, and it's just as heartwarming as the others. This series always delivers fun mysteries with unique and captivating characters, all wrapped up in lighthearted and compelling stories. Leo's self-assurance, combined with Luna's elegant and witty way of handling problems, is a big reason why this series is so popular. Each new book brings in new characters and a fresh plot.
Hollywood has come to Starfall Lake to film a magical summer romance movie, 'Spellbound Summer'. Everyone is super excited. Even Leo is excited; he's set on auditioning for a role. He's been practicing his dramatic looks and poses and perfecting his best angles for the cameras. With his artistic personality, he's a sure bet for a major part
The magic of Starfall Lake is feeling off since the production crew arrived. Then, during a night shoot of a midnight kiss between the two main characters, something goes wrong. The two actors' kiss is beautifully done, but they are frozen in place. It's up to Annie Hart to figure out what went wrong.
Leo's drive to become a leading actor is more important to him than food - hard to believe! I hope you check out this captivating magical mystery and meet the two newest Quillhaven residents.

When Celestial Pictures decides to shoot their new summer romance, Spellbound Summer, at Starfall Lake, the residents of Quillhaven never expect the lake’s magic to become restless. Annie Hart, owner of Spellbound Stories and talented witch, and her pair of talking familiars, Siamese cats Leo and Luna, are at the Lake to enjoy the filming. But, during the filming of the kissing scene, the stars of the film suddenly become frozen like statues with shimmering powder on their lips. Someone has put a spell on them! Filming is suspended and soon the production company is threatening a lawsuit over the delay. Annie Hart, her furry familiars and the townsfolk get to work to solve the mystery of the magical lip powder and discover who has the latent magic that Annie has found in it. With the suspect list growing, Annie and her friends try to develop a spell to remove the errant magic and set things right for the town. This is book #14 in the Quillhaven Magical Cozy Mystery series and, once again, I’ve been drawn into the town of Quillhaven and I never want to leave! Tessa Silver’s mastery of blending magic and mystery makes me want to keep reading! The characters are wonderful and each book can easily be read as a standalone. This series is one of my favorites and I look forward to each new book! I was honored to be on the advanced reader team for this book and I am happy to leave this voluntary review.
All Diana wants to do is teach her summer water magic programme. Starfall Lake is, however, behaving… strangely? Meanwhile, the whole town is gearing up to a movie crew who want to shoot a magical film with a realistic magical backdrop… without being remotely magical themselves. The Lake is still… odd. And getting odder, and more than a bit unpredictable. And what happens if someone has magic in their bones and doesn’t know it? Leo is in love with the idea of being a movie star and practises at every opportunity, even though he’s not been asked. He can do thoughtful, confident, dignified, majestic etc…, and he spends a lot of time ensuring the crew see him doing just that. In spite of his star status aspirations, he is only too happy to help his sister and Annie solve the Lake problem. It’s funny really: his superpower with his detective’s hat on is being invisible… quietly making observations, and yet he loves the limelight. I’m really loving the sound of Caleb’s drinks. Tessa’s imagination flows through every part of this novel, making magical sounding drinks to quench your thirst. She brings Leo and Luna to life with distinct characters of their own. New people join Quillhaven and are welcomed as we learn about their personalities and how they fit into the magical whole. If you’ve not visited Quillhaven before, do give it a go. You might not want to leave.
Tessa Silver wrote another excellent story. Celestrial Productions arrives at Qulllhaven to film a romantic, magical movie. When the movie crew arrive several changes start bappening in the town start occurring. The fashion designer becomes agitated and leaves the set. Willow is brought in to create the fashions for filming. The statue of the founding witches starts warming up. The major change occurs to the lake where filming is to take place. The lake starts experience several changes which is quite concerning to Annie and Diana. Ronan who is the stand in for the leading man is very quite and seems secretive. Sara who is working on the film has dormant magical powers. She is drawn to Annie's bookstore because she feels drawn there. Leo is very anxious to be in the film and annouces it to everyone. Will he get his wish? A magical kiss happens with becomes complicated between the leading man and woman. Complications occur and Annie is called on to find a solution to everything. As usual Leo and Luna help in the investigation and are instrument in solving the situation. Are Ronan or Sara involved or is it just the magic of Quillhaven. I received a copy for an honest review and can highly recomment this excellent addition.
Lights, Camera, Spellbound was such a fun blend of magic, mystery, and cozy charm. I was pulled into the story right away, and I loved how the magical elements mixed so naturally with the mystery. It made every chapter feel like there was another surprise waiting around the corner.
I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. Their personalities, friendships, and witty interactions made them easy to connect with, and I found myself cheering them on as they unraveled the mystery. I also liked that the magical world felt whimsical without becoming confusing, making it easy to get lost in the story.
One of my favorite things about this book was the entertaining setting. The behind-the-scenes feel, combined with the paranormal touches, gave the story its own personality and kept me eager to see what would happen next. There were enough twists to keep me guessing, but everything came together in a satisfying way.
I finished this book with a smile and was already wishing I had the next adventure ready to read. If you enjoy cozy paranormal mysteries with memorable characters, clever twists, and just the right amount of magic, this is definitely one to pick up.

This book is the 14th book in the Quillhaven series that keeps you hooked from the beginning as the 13 books before it had done. Quillhaven is excited and gearing up for Celestrial Productions coming to shoot a magical romantic movie. But things are happening in the town especially with Starfall Lake which has Annie Hart and Diana very concerned. And a what made the lead actors get frozen for 25 minutes in a kiss? In the meantime, Leo, Annie's talking feline keeps trying to get noticed thinking he should get a part in the movie, a good laugh. And his sister, Luna is a lot more series about it all. But when thing start going haywire in town Annie is called upon to find out who is trying to sabotage everything. So with her magical felines, Leo and Luna, she digs deeply into the potential suspects. This is an unputdownable book that not only keeps you guessing, it has you laughing as well. Not only do I highly recommend this book, but I Highly recommend the entire series since each book in the series is a page turner that hooks you from the beginning! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
A movie crew has descended upon Quillhaven and soon Annie will be called to Starfall Lake to reverse a spell no witch from town cast. When the stars of the movie suffer from lasting side effects of the spell the production company threatens to sue the town. With a relatively short list of suspects Annie, alone with Leo and Luna must find the amateur spell caster before disaster strikes. All the while Leo is convinced that it is just a matter of time before he is "discovered" by the movie producer and makes a point of appearing in unexpected locations where the crew is filming. Wonderfully written and always entertaining characters, some familiar, and other that are introduced in the book. They are all complex with quirky personalities that are always engaging and believable. I absolutely adore this series of books, and for anyone interested in a quick cozy mystery read with some magic, witches, talking magical cats, a surprising twist of two in the plot, and a happy ending I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by Book Sirens.
Quillhaven is all abuzz with movie magic. They're using the lake to film a movie, and it seems not all of Quillhaven is impressed. With the crew moving in, Diane's classes are thrown akilter and the lake itself is very unsettled about the whole thing. Silver gives us the regular cast of characters, Annie, Caleb, and Leo & Luna (of course). We're also introduced to more Quillhaven residents of note (like Diane in particular). I find the interactions between characters realistic and enlightening. This quirky town holds so many secrets, and Silver doles them out bit by bit. This is the 14th book in the series, but if your new to Quillhaven, never fear, it can be read as a standalone without feeling like your missing something from the story. Thatcsaid, it's fun to see the progression of characters from one book to the next (i.e.- Sylvie). I have become a huge fan of Tessa's since starting this series and can't wait to see what she does next!
I was gifted a copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Lights Camera Spellbound Book 14 of the Quillhaven Magical Cozy Mysteries by Tessa Silver
Quillhaven is always a fun place to return to, and this story brings a whole film crew to Starfall Lake. Annie Hart expects a little excitement, but the midnight kiss scene that leaves two actors frozen in place is a surprise even for her. Someone used real magic instead of harmless prop powder, and the lake is reacting in ways no one can ignore. The water moves on calm days and the Wishing Tree shifts its branches like it is trying to warn everyone.
Leo spends most of the book trying to get noticed by the director and nearly steals the spotlight. Luna quietly helps the investigation while pretending she is above all the fuss. The new characters fit right in with Quillhaven’s usual charm and secrets.
It is a fun mystery with plenty of magic, and I read it in one sitting.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
She’s done it again. Another wonderful story about the things that can happen in Quillhaven. Where one should always expect the unexpected. Somehow Hollywood found Quillhaven and decided it was perfect for a magical movie production. Well really it is. We meet a new person that is just coming into her magic. But not having the proper guidance or evening knowing where to begin can be hard. And mistakes can and do happen. Lucky for all of Quillhaven they have not only Annie but the very magical cats Leo and Luna around to meet whatever challenges happen. And Leo has been bitten badly by the acting bug. He’s doing everything he can to get in front of the camera and show everyone the star that he believes he is. This story is just as magical as the ones before. You can read them in any order, but I do recommend you read at least book 1 first so you know how things start and meet Annie, Leo and Luna.
Lights, Camera, Spellbound! is like all the Quillhaven Mysteries: a fun, light read! This one centers more on Annie (who is a reoccurring character) and her AWESOME magical Siamese cats Leo & Luna. They always steal the show in the books but this time they are stealing the show in a movie that is being filmed in Quillhaven! It did take a little longer to get to the heart of the mystery than the other books (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) but it was worth the wait. And no murder here, just a magical mystery! This is 14th in a series but can easily be read as a standalone, as each book typically centers on a new character or shop. While this one isn't my absolute favorite, I highly recommend it & the rest of the series if you want fun, sweet, easy-to-read magical mysteries! I did receive this as an arc book, but the opinions are my own....I truly love the Quillhaven books, each one is like returning to a beloved hometown.
Celestial Productions comes to Quillhaven to film a romance in book fourteen. Night filming at Starfall Lake ends with a kiss that locks the actors together for 25 minutes. The production company is threatening to sue and Annie has to deal with a disturbed restless lake. New characters include a budding, unaware witch, a creepy director and a suspicious stuntman. Siamese kitties, Luna and Leo assist their witch, with Luna very chill and Leo bitten by the acting bug. As usual, the pair offer some very amusing moments. There are never only a few suspects in these mysteries. And kudos to our Ms Silver for her ability to juggle them into play while narrowing down red herrings and false twists and turns. There are a few tense moments, but for the most part this is a smoothly paced story. Totally enjoyable. Maybe one of the best Quillhavens. (But I think that after finishing each book.).

A film crew is coming to the magical town of Quillhaven and everyone is excited! The lake, which has its own magic, is disturbed and when a spell goes wrong, the town is facing a lawsuit and loss of income for the local shop owners, and a very upset lake. Annie, local shop owner and teacher of young witches, finds and fixes the wayward spell and calms the lake. Along the way, she finds a new witch to train and Leo and Luna, the magical cats, get to appear in the film. There are romances blooming and growing in the town as well. Leo and Luna are laugh-out-loud funny as Leo fancies himself a movie star. The Quillhaven magical cozy mysteries are a series, but each one can be read as a stand-alone. Each story features different members of the magical community and they are always entertaining and fun to read. Thanks to Tessa Silver for the ARC.
The wonderful magical town of Quillhaven is back, this time a movie crew is arriving for filming. Everyone expects some chaos and Leo is determined to become a star. But it turns out differently than expected. First Starfall Lake is uneasy, then a romantic scene goes wrong, the two stars are frozen together when they kiss. It’s up to Annie, Leo and Luna to find out what happens. This has a great mystery, some surprises, lots of different magic, a fair amount of humour, especially with Leo and his determination to be in the movie. As always, the characters are interesting and believable, the mystery is nice and the whole book makes me feel good. This series is basically stand-alone novels but they work better if you read them in order, then everyone’s magic, history and connections make sense. Anyway you read them, they are light, fun reads. Definitely recommend this series.
3.5 Stars Lights Camers Spellbound is the 14th book in the Quillhaven series by Tedsa Silver.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I'm stepping into my first read on the 14th book.
Hollywood is coming to Quillhaven and the entire town is excited. However, Quillhaven isn't your typical small town, it's a magical and the town's lake is not happy. When a special scene in the movie causes the main characters to freeze like statues, everything goes awry.
The author does a good job explaining the recurring characters, which I found helpful as a new reader. While the book is short you get to know and understand the characters and the town. The magical cats are hilarious and keeps the story light.
Thank you, Tessa Silver, for providing an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
As soon as I begin to read the latest Quillhaven mystery by Tessa Silver, I am transported back to the wonderful, magical town. It merges seamlessly with magic and realism and makes it seem as if anything is possible. Leo and Luna are as fun and enjoyable as ever. Magical and non-magical citizens live in harmony here and you just want to be a part of it. Although there are characters who appear in several of the books in this series, this is truly a series where the books can be read in any order. You never feel like you missed something and that you need to go back to the beginning to understand the town and its history. A movie production has come to town and some magic goes awry. Read this fabulous book to find out what happens. Till next time, let some magic into your life.
Overview: Quillhaven is heading for Hollywood, kind of. A movie is set to be filmed in town with key shots being filmed near Starfall Lake. When the leads share a kiss, required for the scene, they freeze, completely statuesque and not in a good way. What could have happened? Is this what Starfall Lake was trying to tell Diane? Can Annie save the production? And will Leo become a star? Let's find out.
Dislikes: The lawyers got involved! Maybe they should have considered that magic might be real.
Likes: I loved how Annie treated Amber.
Leo and Luna were hams the whole story. Someone ought to tell Luna that just acting like you aren't interested doesn't fool anyone.
Ronan and Sarah's relationship was adorable.
Conclusion: This was a great book. If you like cozy magical tales, or just like to visit Quillhaven, then this book is for you. Enjoy the read.
Anne is a witch and has a bookstore called Spellbound Stories. Her familiars are with her. One is talking about the movie company coming to town. As the time for their arrival Anne and several other locals feel something. That something will bring danger to town. Liora Voss and Chase Jackson are the stars of the movie being filmed. To Diane has swam the lake over the years at different times. This time it feels like the lake is answering a question it doesn't know. Then Annie meets Amber a member of the production team who asks about magic then leaves quickly. Throughout all the suspense Leo, one of her familiars, is still talking about trying out for the movie. Then the two stars have a spell on them. Is that all that happens or is worse coming? A fantastic story in this series.

The quiet small town of Quillhaven is abuzz in this installment. A film crew is going to be making a movie using Quillhaven as the location - and the residents are so invested in this!
However, the magical Starfall Lake is reacting to the activity in ways that is concerning to resident witches Annie and Diana. Diana has a special affinity with water and notices this first. Other aspects of the town are also reacting, which puzzles them.
During a scene on the lake, a prop reacts in an odd way to the actors and now Annie and her cat familiars are trying to uncover the reasons before the production company takes legal action against the small town!
Featuring characters from previous books, this charming town has a spell on me!.

Residents of Quillhaven are excited when a movie is being filmed in their small, magical town. When the trucks, actors and director arrive the residents soon notice that the Starfall Lake seems unsettled. Until something changes the town is worried. While filming a scene on the lake when the two stars kiss, they seem to have frozen in time, their lips frozen and shimmering with no detectable breath for several minutes. Local witch Annie Hart with the help of her magical, talking cats Leo and Luna discovers what caused the frozen kiss and the lake’s unsettled actions and has promised to correct the enchanted kiss and the leftover shimmer. I love visiting Quillhaven with its magical inhabitants. A review of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
Quillhaven is a truly magical town on its own. However, when Hollywood rolls up ready to make movie magic, it becomes a whole different thing. The Quillhaven series is a very entertaining series, full of quirky characters and funny anecdotes. This book can easily stand alone and you can get the entertaining plot and cute anecdotes. Annie and her magical cats have to solve the mystery of the frozen kiss before Quillhaven is hurt. Who added this strange magic that froze the kiss? This book will give you lots of entertainment and a warm cozy feeling when you are done reading. I highly recommend this book and, if you haven't read the other books in the series, go back and enjoy those, too.

Hollywood has come to Quillhaven and with it chaos. The town is being used because the group wanted a town that felt magical and they got more than they were prepared for. Annie is busy at spellbound books, Diana at the lake with the kids learning the lake, and Leo and Luna doing what they do. Starfall Lake is having problems with all the cameras and the magical intention and is going a bit crazy and Annie finds a girl with the crew that is magical and doesn't know it. The unknowing one manages to cast a spell that she didn't know was real and caused all sorts of problems for Quillhaven. All ends well for movie and town and Leo and Luna managed to be in the movie. Great story! I received an arc and this is my review.
I just love this series, and it gets better with each book, and this one does not disappoint. Love getting to see all the characters from pass books, and of course Leo ad Luna the talking cats. All the romance between the couples, mysteries that follow with something going wrong. All Diana wants to do is teach her students in the Starfall Lake, but the camera crew has other ideals, and the water is not cooperating. The person responsible for the mess did not mean to do it. With the help of Annie and Diana hopefully they can solve the problem quickly. The person was not trying to harm anyone and hopefully she can help solve the problem. Hopefully we will see a marriage in the future for some of the couples.
I received a copy of this book in advance for an honest review.
Another installment in the Quillhaven cozy mystery did not disappoint. Tessa Silver keeps you coming back for the next book each time. How can you not come back to find out what Leo and Luna, the towns magical Siamese cats have gotten up to next. This story follows the production company, Celestrial Productions, that has come to Quillhaven to film a movie. During a scene where the 2 stars share a kiss on the lake they are frozen for a moment like statues. Resident witch, Annie, must figure out what caused this and who was involved. With the help of her magical cats she begins to investigate the suspects. She is able to solve the mystery and production of the movie is completed. Follow Annie through her investigative process to unravel the mystery and identify the culprit.
Book 14 of Quillhaven Magical Cozy Mysteries. Can be read as a standalone.
'With snarky Siamese cat Leo convinced he's been discovered by Hollywood and his graceful sister Luna quietly steering the investigation, Annie races to uncover the truth before Quillhaven's summer spell turns into something no one can undo.'
The characters were very appealing and likeable and quirky and complicated and compelling. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.
