She never thought she would see HIM again.

Rera becomes a Blessed Priestess of Ma'at and realizes that the Temple and being a Priestess is what she truly wants to do with her life. She and Makara have had a conversation that may help with their working relationship, at least she hopes that is the case. Unfortunately, the secrets Rera still keeps will be revealed when Zet takes her to her father, and she has no choice but to divulge that secret to Ben and the Temple.
Oh, so good, I could not put this book down. I love the way these characters continue to develop throughout this series. They are so well written, and with such complex personalities that I was hooked from the first page. A sweet fantasy romance with some surprising twist in the plot. This is a must-read book and series that I highly recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by the author.

Good

It's good to see some understanding growing (albeit slowly) between Makara & Rera.

It's also good that Ben defends & protects Rera, even against the unintentionally impolite demands of their friends.

Rera's insecurity is, however, still present, despite everything that Ben has done to support her ("Everyone leaves").

(Personally, I still haven't worked out why Rera hasn't just dumped Zet ... he has no redeeming features at all.)

Rera is definitely growing to be a Priestess of Ma'at worthy of her blessing.

(I was fortunate to receive an ARC however the above is, as ever, my own opinion.)

This seventh instalment in the Scales of Justice series was an interesting read, with the introduction of Rera’s father to the mix. And to say he’s a slimeball is an understatement! I do not like the man at all! It will be interesting to see what happens with him as the series continues, and with the later inclusion of her mum too. Can I also say hurrah that Makara becomes a little less of a cow in this book? Seeing a more human side to her is nice, and gives me hope for the two of them having a good working relationship. Looking forward to book eight!

Review of advance copy received from Author

I enjoyed reading more about Rera and how she is learning and growing through her new life. Finally seeing her father and the drama that entails kept me reading to the end of the book. I loved seeing Makara and Rera's relationship getting better with more communication between them. I enjoy seeing Ben and Rera together. The cliffhanger has me holding my breath until the next book.

Secrets.

Rera is ordained as a Priestess of Ma’at. Keeping her new life separated from ties to her old one is harder than ever. Her secrets could ruin everything and drive everyone away, including Ben.

The spice, the danger, and the drama make this an enjoyable story. I received an advance copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.

Absolutely Loved this book bless Rera, she really can’t catch a break. It was certainly triggering for her. I hope that things don’t escalate for the worst for her. Can’t wait for the next installment

Now this one had some wild drama going on. Some of Rera's family history is revealed as things get dicey for her in her undercover work. I laughed, I ooohed and enjoyed watching it all play out. Lots of action and things happen in this one that I enjoyed too. Lots of fun to read.

I enjoyed this because the characters continue to develop, but so does the plot. It was an entertaining read, and does have some steamy parts for those that enjoy it.
