After reading Law Maker I fell in love with Alwyn’s writing, that book hit all the feels and she’s done it again in Dream Chaser!
Nova is in a loveless marriage to a man who puts himself first, Nova leaves this relationship, gets a job as a photographer/marketing assistant at the agency where she meets her boss Alejandro - the sexy Spanish boss.
I loved the boss/coworker trope, navigating a bitter divorce and seeing Nova grow with everything thrown at her. I loved seeing Asher & Kaia in this story also 🥰
Add to your TBR as Alwyn will be an instant read for me going forward 🩷

Lemme start with how much I despised Preston. First chapter, I felt the need to throw a brick at him (and if you've read Rick Riordan books, not in the Jason Grace way) and I was so satisfied when Nova finally leaves her unhappy marriage with Preston, even when it was obvious that she would have anyway because there's no way there's gonna be a second-chance romance between those two. That ship sailed the second he disregarded her feelings.
So, Nova has to figure out what she actually wants for herself because she lost herself when she was with Preston. I really liked that her photography and career were such a big part of the story because it gave her something of her own to focus on while she was rebuilding her life and such.
Then there’s Alejandro (my love, my life <33), and their relationship starts with Nova working at his sports agency, and I really liked watching their relationship develop because it wasn't immediate and it was gradual and slow burn, in a way. He was so supportive of her and her photography, and I loved that he actually encouraged her to go after her goals instead of making the romance her entire world, which I feel like is something that is becoming typical of books nowadays. So while she is empowered in a way by Alejandro, you can see that Nova also grows so much throughout the book and becomes way more confident in herself, and I've said this before, but she lost so much of herself in her relationship with the walking-red-flag that I was surprised that she rebounded so well!
I really liked how everything came together by the end, especially seeing Nova finally get her photography exhibition and realizing how far she’d come since her problematic relationship with her ex (also, can I make it clear that that man invited his mother/mother-in-law to their anniversary wedding?). And OOFFFF, her and Alejandro were also so cute together!! Definitely one of those books that I would sell a kidney to be able to read for the first time again <3 Overall, easy 5-stars and I see no reason for it to be rated otherwise

This book starts out with Nova being Married to the worlds worst husband, Preston. She is surrounded by people with small minds, evil hearts and zero compassion (yes her mother is included in that) Nova has completely lost herself and gave up her goals and aspirations to live this life she actually never even wanted. She realizes on their third anniversary that she needs out and leaves him the following morning. Cue Alejandro. After job searching to start her life over she lands an interview with Alejandro and his new sports agency.
Alejandro has always had strong feelings about employers taking advantage of employees so he tries so hard to not look at Nova in anyway but professional, but my man just can’t stop himself from seeing her, and really seeing her. He soon realizes how much he enjoys spending time with her and how effortlessly he can open up to her. They both try to stop their mutual attraction to each other but fate has other plans. This man does everything, from making her tea after he finds her crying one night, literally taking her around the world, seeing her for herself and helps her not only realize her goals (both professional and personal) but helps her finds ways to achieve them. He encourages her, pushes her, loves her, builds her confidence back up and worships her. Nova blossoms in front of our very eyes and becomes a strong, independent woman who accepts help when the time is right and keeps pushing to better herself and her life. The character development of Nova was my absolute favorite thing about this book. The tension and forbidden romance add to this perfect story of two imperfect people learning how to open up again and accept love and allow each other to be what they’ve always been looking for. This book had my kicking my feet, laughing out loud and tearing up watching Nova grow and Ale push her and encourage her. Can’t wait for book three!

First of all, thank you to the author for an arc of this amazing book! I absolutely loved the first book and fell in love with Kaia and Asher’s story and this book is no different.
I instantly felt connected to the main characters and I was rooting for Nova from the very beginning. Nova deserved sooooo much better than Preston.. ugghh, his name says it all! I was truly baffled by his audacity to treat her that way and to think that there are actually people like that in the real world is absolutely sickening.
I’m not surprised he was up to some shady shit to be honest.
I love a good slow burn that is actually a slow burn. Sometimes you read slow burns where there’s no tension at all and then all of the sudden the characters are into each other. The build up between Nova and Alejandro was perfect, it had me giggling and kicking my feet at like 2am😂
Also, can we talk about Nova’s hoe ass mom?!? lol omg she is SOMETHING! My mom has told me the same thing Nova’s mom told her, that essentially it’s our job as the daughter to take care of them no matter how they treat us and that really hit home because my mom has told me that constantly but then wasn’t the best mom growing up. Like why would I want to deal with someone who neglected me?!?
Anywho, this is another book to add to my favorites, I loved it so much!🩷

This was such a beautifully written romance. This was my first book by Alwyn Knighton but I am certainly excited to read more!! I immediately loved Nova, she was such a relatable character. Truly after everything she had been through, and the constant negativity in her life she definitely could’ve been closed off and negative herself but instead she takes her chance to not only escape but build herself up. On top of that she was loving to those around her, always willing to help out, and watching her learn to stand on her own two feet and stand up for herself. And who couldn’t fall in love with Alejandro immediately I mean he’s protective, caring, and truly has a heart of gold. And together… wow their chemistry sparked right off the page. There were so many swoon-worthy romantic moments that I couldn’t stop reading because I just wanted to see what part of their love story was going to unfold next! If your looking for a beautifully written book filled with age gap romance, with plenty of romantic moments, spice, and hilarious banter, finding yourself, an amazing found family topped off with an amazing happily ever after then I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Dream Chased today!

This book grabs you from the first page and just keeps getting better!
So many emotions with this one! There are plenty of characters to hate in the first chapter alone, it’s enough to make you want to pluck the FMC from the book to give her a hug, but Nova is a badass and the awful people in her life only make her shine brighter on the page. When she makes the decision to leave the life that’s pulling her down and start her adventure, you will be cheering!
There are also tons of characters to love, especially Ale. This guy has worked his butt off to be at the top of his industry, all while being a genuinely good person. Ale is the protective, green flag MMC you’ve been waiting for. A guy who pays attention, listens, and wants what’s best for other people, not just himself.
Dream Chaser is full of all kinds of relationships— friends, family, love interests—the thing these relationships all have in common is the layers. Every character feels real. They are all people with interesting pasts, and personalities that are clear and individualized.
For romance lovers, I can’t recommend this book highly enough. I give it 100 stars, but unfortunately the app will round that down to five.

I loved these characters separately and loved them even more together! The plot and the story were both a 10/10 for me! 💕

Y'all I absolutely adore this one. I loved watching Nova leave such a toxic relationship and be brave and resilient. I loved watching her growth and her confidence bloom. She deserved endless love. Ale is absolutely that man! I loved that he took a chance on Nova, and just nurtured her. I love all the small things he would do for her and was allowing her to learn and experience things on her own. These two found each other at the perfect time and to see them both get that true partnership & love was beautiful to witness.
5/5 recommend this book. Y'all I love the way Alwyn takes real life problems and issues and shows that you can overcome them and with the right person in your corner you can take on the world. I love the fact that she also included what Spanish words mean, if you don't know you can see it without having to stop reading to look it up.

We first met Ale in Law Maker, so to say I've been patiently waiting would be an understatement!! He is totally worth the wait though, in every way possible.
They have the sweetest love story. When Mr Control Freak Workaholic (Ale) meets this timid, married woman from a small town, who lies to get a job (Nova), what could possibly go wrong....or right 😏
Dream Chaser was a sweet, spicy, slow burn read that hits all the feels just right. You can't help but fall in love with Ale and Nova. The flirting, the protectiveness, the chemistry, is off the charts.
I can't wait to see what Alwyn comes out with next.

ARC review for Dream Chases
I really enjoyed this 2nd book in this series by Alwyn Knighton. Ale and Nova have great chemistry from the very start of this book. I love seeing an MFC getting rid of POS husband because she knew she deserved better and was not going to settle for anyone who did not treat her like the queen she is ! Ale was so swoony and had heart eyes for Nova and knew her worth . was sad to see what an awful mother Nova had and how her husband was gaslighting everyone to think Nova was the problem taking away all her support from her old life. Was wonderful to see her new found family was there for her and supporting and routing for her new life. I also loved when the characters would go to Spain seem so amazing there!

I loved Dream Chaser, I couldn’t put it down, I stayed up so late finishing it. I love an office romance & put an age gap in it too, yes please. Nova met Alejandro when she needed him the most, I love that he gave her a chance and gave her the beginning she deserved. Thank you Alwyn for bringing to light the domestic abuse Nova endured and continued to deal with, my heart was with her through it all & I despise Preston and any man who thinks that behavior is ok. I loved Dream Chaser, I couldn’t put it down, I stayed up so late finishing it. I love an office romance & put an age gap in it too, yes please. Nova met Alejandro when she needed him the most, I love that he gave her a chance and gave her the beginning she deserved. Thank you Alwyn for bringing to light the domestic abuse Nova endured and continued to deal with, my heart was with her through it all & I despise Preston and any man who thinks that behavior is ok. Thank you Alwyn for the review copy, I can't wait to see what's next!!!

First time reading this authors books, I have to say I really enjoyed it after the blurb I knew this book was for me.
Ale and Nova story kept my attention throughout the book, loved how Nova grew throughout allowing Ale to help but not feeling her independence was being taken again.
Ale character I loved from the start so easy to connect with, loved how he showed Nova what it was like to be love and allowing her to spread her wings💓
Preston and Melissa got off to easily for my liking

The relationship between Nova and Ale was sweet—Alejandro is very attentive and thoughtful to Nova’s needs. Her divorce/ex-husband was intense and messy. I hate that so many women experience the things Nova had to experience. Ale and their work was a great example of found family.
