I'm not afraid to say....I suffered at the hands of abuse.

This series has taken me through the labyrinth of MY MIND where dust and cobwebs have been in residence in the remotest part of my mind for a very, very, long time.

Reading this book felt like I had blown the dust into the air and these tiny dust motes being my thoughts, memories, surfaced again, they whirled around and around until they finally, peacefully, settled again.

Yes, this book has tugged at me....pulled me this way and that, but I have immensely enjoyed it.......it has been therapeutic, Fascinating, Absorbing, Hard, Insightful and refreshingly different!!

The main focus of this book was on Grant, his healing with the help of Renata ~ sex therapist and tortured sole herself. In healing Grant, she was healing too. The truth or dare moment was scorching hawt.....oh~la~la.....tres bein as Andre would say!

You cannot rescue someone from themselves. People are never as helpless as they feel themselves to be.

When they improve, it is not because of you - it is because they have chosen to help themselves!"

READ IT, FEEL IT, LOVE IT.......I KNOW I DID!!

Grant and Renata's journey continues in Avenge....I hold my breathe...for the next instalment.

While I definitely recommend this trilogy, I also have a couple of problems with it.

It is actually longer than it needs to be. This is due to repetition of thoughts from both mc's.
I also found some editing errors. Not many, and they are very minor.

The story itself, the message it tells is evocative. The main characters it portrays are vivid and feel authentic. You feel yourself connecting to them in many ways. They feel real.

The romance between Renata and Grant and their issues are the main focus of this book. The intimate scenes between them are scorching hot and erotic in a beautiful way. Sensual and loving.

While I am enjoying the trilogy, I wish there was more about the ongoing investigation. I don't want to say much about that element of the story since that could lead to a spoiler. I just wish that aspect of the story had more attention and information.

I will finish by saying I feel this 2nd book in the trilogy could have been 100 pages shorter and a faster pace. However! I enjoyed it and I am going straight into book 3 Avenge. There is just something about it that wont let me go. I have to finish it! It has me in its grip. I must finish this trilogy.

Oh, final note; I think Ms. Nikki Sex is a genius. And possibly a counselor in her secret life!!

Abuse was such a special book to me, I was worried when writing a sequel. I wanted to be sure that the second book was as good as the first. I really think Accuse is :-)

ACCUSE has lots of unpredictable twists, hot sex, self-discovery and of course, the loveable André doing what he does best. Enjoy!

5 stars, yes Nikki, you got the 5 stars with this one !

I read Abuse, the first book of this series (review on Goodreads and Amazon) and I was literally moved/shaken/touched by this book and the incredible mastery the author demonstrated to treat such a taboo subject: child sexual abuse.

I truly think everyone who’s been victim of or know some victim of such abuse should read this series. It could be worth years of therapy and can help people to really grasp what the victims have been through and how they feel, what they think of themselves.

I was so amazed by the author’s skills I took the liberty to contact her and ask if her book was the result of an impressive research or if she was herself a therapist. That’s how amazing this series is.

Now, back to Accuse.

Accuse is about Grant’s healing, helped by Renata’s love and skills. He wants to overcome his fear of being touched. He yearns to make love with Renata and stay with her after sex, without feeling filthy for what he did. Renata was very creative to help Grant and I must say I’ll never read about a game of Dare or Truth the same way. Holly Molly, that was hot!
She also found what makes him overcome his disgust to be touched and it was really interesting to see Grant’s evolution into …someone else while playing love games. I won’t say more as I don’t want to spoil the fun.

The main focus of this book was on Grant but I loved reading more about Renata’s past. The author used Renata’s nightmare to recount what she went through. This way, I knew exactly what happened to her and the scene was so intense I felt Renata’s emotions in my bones. Poor, poor little girl.
Now I understand why she loved taking care of kids so much. I do hope she’ll get one someday as she has so much love to give and I’d like to read more about her in the next book. She has to heal too.

This story was a rollercoaster of emotions:
-I wanted to shake some sense in Grant when he wanted to sacrifice himself to save his brother. Grant is a protector to his core and it shows through his profession’s choice, his will to protect Alex and his need to take care of Renata. It’s his weakness but it will also be his salvation;

-I hurt with the characters as I read about what they experienced and how they still felt. ”Abuse is a parasite that feeds of hate and shame, growing in size and strength with silence.”;

-I cried too. How do you expect me not to while reading sentences like ”Jamie cried very, very quietly and only in front of me. He’d been rejected by the man he loved.” Take the “very, very quietly” out and you would not be overwhelmed. It would be sad but not utterly sad. What I’m trying to say (maybe clumsily as I’m no writer) is the author has a gift with words to convey the deep emotions her characters are going through.

- the foreplay conveyed much steam (game of Dare or Truth; shopping for the baby;…);

- I laughed while reading about Mitten, the “very polite” cat. I swear that cat has been given a human personality and it adds some fun and lightness to the story;

-It made me think too, about things being not always black or white, about who’s a bad guy and who’s a good guy as Grant remembered how he got his scars;

-And cherry on top, I was surprised. I thought I knew who had murdered Grant’s father but… not at all! And I would never have guessed about Sally Ann’s brother.

But now, I have to wait for book 3 …

Solid 4 Healing (in the process) Stars!

This is such a compelling and heartbreaking story. I wish could push Grant's father off a building myself. Lots of questions are answered, but lots of questions remain. Like why was Grant accused in the first place and did Alex really do it? Also, will Grant and Renata stay together? Is their relationship personal or professional? I want them to be together, but will it really last forever? This series is giving me so much to think about. I hope to find the answers in AVENGE. So, I'm on that to find out.

Oh! And by the way, Grant is smoking HOT when he's confident (and dominate). Happy reading!

Renata and Grant grow closer as the story covers so many layers of psychological healing through connecting with another person. As a sexual surrogate, Renata helps to lead Grant to a place where he is able to open up through communication as well as sexually. There isn’t a lot to the backstory of being “accused” but some groundwork is laid. This has a lot of sex in it, but there is so much more to it as well. Obviously, this author has tremendous experience in the mental health care system or did an incredible job of researching the topic.

I am totally in love with both of these characters as they move through their past issues and push forward into the future. Cannot wait to learn what the “mystery” will eventually reveal.

5 Thought Provoking and Absorbing Stars

I’ve said it before, and will say it again… Wow, just wow, what an intense, thought provoking and remarkable story this is.

I love that Nikki writes these stories with so much knowledge and experience from her past line of work. It is truly fascinating and extraordinary.

I loved the continuation of Grant and Renata’s story. They are both so broken and extremely beautiful. Learning to heal each other and bring out the best in one another.

This story is full of angst, lust, passion, confusion, frustration, love, hate, suspense, secrets and more. It will keep you guessing right until the very end.

Grant is still so broken and tense. Loved the way he finds himself by finding Renata. It really is a beautiful experience. A broken man, who thinks he’s a monster, discovers himself and his feelings.

And Renata, still the gorgeous, kind and giving woman who is finding herself with Grant and overcoming so much in herself.

I loved watching these broken souls healing each other through self-discovery. It really was beautiful.

There is so much in this story that is so real and raw and I want to tell you all… but you should really read it yourself.

But…I have to say this…. I will never play truth or dare with the same intentions again….this scene is truly etched in my memory. Absolutely loved it – hot, sexy, and gorgeous.

Nikki writes so impeccably. The flow of this story is perfect and the character build up is brilliant as the plot thickens and leaves you in suspense.

Thought provoking, intense, sexy and brilliant.

A Must Read.

2 pleaaase stop repeating the same thing over and over stars !

I really loved book 1 in this series, so to say I was disappointed in book 2 is an understatement .

Reading the book, it felt like the author was just trying to make it last so that there could be a book 3.

From the action point of view : nothing much, and covered very fast in short chapters.

Most of the book is an endless repetition of how incredible and "over the chart" their chemistry is, and how Grant starts learning more about himself and finally acknowledges .

And yes, I was obviously looking for this chemistry between Grant and Renata, as well as for each character's introspections, and their acknowledgment of what went wrong and how they can possibly find a way in life despite their respective childhoods.

But I can get it by reading it once ... ok twice because it is heavy stuff ... and then please go on !

I initially started book 2 because book 3 was just released and I wanted to read them back to back ; but it was such a pain for me to actually finish "Accuse", that I just cannot start "Avenge" now ... if ever.

Another awesome piece of the story!

Another heart wrenching piece of the story. I wish Nikki Sex could write faster. I can't wait for the next installment. Wow! I read this in one day it was so good. When a writer can engage your emotions along with the characters, to me, excellence has been achieved. I really wish Andre was real. Who in today's world doesn't need a sex therapist?

Heyyy i've finished this book 'happy dance':))

First of all lets talk about some male ego. Man ego 101!!
Men love to hear women tell how perfect they're in bed or out of bed. They want to hear how they're sooo perfect all the time. But paying for sex and hearing how you're perfect in bed while f.cking a prostitude ??? How does it work??? Dont think that i'm insulting prostitudes or else. I believe its a respectible job. Men need sex they sell sex. This decreases the rape ratio in some countries. But why?? Are the men kind that stupid??? This always will be a mystery for me:)))
Now lets talk about this book. Grant always had sex with pros. Ofcourse he pays for them and renata, he also pays for her in a different way but whatever... She has feelings for him but she is a pro sex therapist. Are they in a raletionship or not??? This was really confusing.
Everystep grant achieves renata gave him a pat on the back. And says ' oh wow thank u for sharing this with me' or 'fantastic, what an excellent start' or etc etc... All are very terapist talks and not so convincing. same as a prostıtude saying how big your cock or how she never experienced sth like that :)))
Ofcourse i am a woman and i cant understand men thoughts about those moments but if i was a man i think i wouldnnever believe any of those shit...
Although i didnt like nor understand the sudden/immediate intamacy or atraction between grant and renata, i lIked her. She is so comfortable in her body and about sex.

And then lets talk about those mystery moments. From the 1st pages of the first book writer wanted us to think that grant murdered someone. Grant was in service ofcourse he killed people in war but outside?? In the first book we thought grant killed his father. Then in the first pages of the second book we understood that grant didnt kill his father so who killed his father and is really grant a murderer???! Later on the book grant reveals his BIG secret. Yes he killed someone and not in war!!!! But he killed for CIA. I never give those kinds of spoilers but i really hated the writer at that moment. Hey writer u can do better. I feel cheated, fooled. And grant never tells how he had those scars on his face (even his therapist doesn't know how he had them!!!!although therapist knows his abusive father????) And the history of those scars was also not satisfying. We read nearly 390 pages for those ridiculous secrets to reveal.

And lets talk about those repeated parts.
Note to the wrıter: you wrote a trıology for gods sake and every one knows what a trıology is. You have to read The 1st book first:)) sooo if we're clear on these terms u dont have to copy paste the pages u have written in the first book. We already read those pages

It was a different experience. I'm repeating myself but it could be a standalone,1 book instead of three. Also i wanted those mystery parts gone. Then it could be a psychological romance/ erotica and i could give the book a 4 star.

I need the final book now!!, I thought this was it but I was so wrong!!, I would say this book felt like 90% therapy for Grant and 10% everything else. I felt every hesitation, every stuttering breath and every agonising touch that Grant went through, wow wee talk about foreplay, it's very descriptive and very primal but with Grants history it had to be, there was humour in there too, Renata was unbelievably understanding and so patient it was at times exhausting to read, talk about frustration much?. My only downside was the actual story was light it was more to do with Grant and his feelings about sex. I did like the character of Roman the detective and loved that André in his uniquely wonderful way was still enriching lives, I never tire of him. The last chapter threw up another revelation which brings us to book three...the waiting begins.

I read the first one in this series and really enjoyed it so I decided to go ahead and read this one even though it had been quite a while since I had read the first.

I didn't have too much trouble recalling the story line which was nice BUT (and this is my major peeve with this one) it wouldn't have mattered. The author spent a lot of time rehashing the first and re- quoting, what seemed to me, large portions. This was a little annoying. What was a LOT annoying for me was the repetitiveness of the remainder of the story. Renata spent sooo much time thinking about Grant and what she wanted to do to great. In great details. His legs, his ass, his abs on and on and on. I just did not enjoy that and I did not connect with the characters as a result, especially Renata.

The story is good. The writing waffles too much. What is said in a lot of words could have been said in less.

This book is raw and deep. It explores two characters with different but tragic pasts whose connection starts to heal both of them. I didn't think I was a fan of Renate in the first book but I totally felt her and Grant in this book. The author used sex for therapy in a way I've never read it used like but it totally worked and made sense. An extremely hot read that touches on some real issues and depth. There was some serious insight into abuse/healing. Well written with an end that surprised me and kept me hooked waiting for the next installment. I still don't prefer cliffhangers but I'll continue with this one as I'm invested now.

Such deep dark secrets come to light in this book. It gives you a much better
understanding of Grant and Renata's childhood. It also shows that Andre proves
his abilities once again. To place these two wounded souls together knowing they
are exactly what each other needs is a true gift that Andre indeed has. I can't
wait for more of this story.

There just something about this series I want to read on to find out what happens but at same time I find frustration and boring in parts. Overall the story is good and spicy is great. However I wish would go into mor details and would be little more focused on his father case as feel like it gets forgotten about most of the time

*sigh*
As always, the sequel of a novel I loved has turned out to be disappointing.
I have no idea why authors do this. Why do they always believe that a sequel or a trilogy is better than a single book? Because of money? Because they believe the story has been left unfinished?
I am one of those people who can stay alive without knowing every fucking detail about characters like how many kids they'll have, how they'll get married, how they'll survive 20 years from now.
I actually hate it when authors give too much information. It leaves nothing to the imagination and the whole idea of novels and fiction just gets lost somewhere in the middle.
Now, I agree Abuse needed a sequel. But another part? All to explain who killed Grant's father?
Especially when most of Accuse was, to be very honest, very bland and boring. All Grant and Renata did was stay in bed or take walks or discuss shit as though they have nothing else to do. Meanwhile, this fat detective goes around gathering info on Grant making the whole novel a total torture to read especially since THERE WAS NO STORY
I think I only read Accuse for those amazing quotes at the start of every chapter but since they aren't even by the author, I can't give her credit for it. There were a couple of quotes by Andre at the start of some chapters too but I gotta tell this to the author: "You may rock at writing but, dear woman, you absolutely suck at quotes. You couldn't be worse at it. Everything Andre says is either a simpler version of what some famous scholar has said or it is total crap ". Seriously, I rolled my eyes at some "sayings" by that old man.
Have I mentioned that I absolutely loathe him? I can't stand that french idiot.
He prances around in a gay-ish manner, giving the worst advice ever, and it is so irritating to have to read anything about him. The sex between him and Renata was an absolute torture to read. I hope the author won't mention more of it in Avenge.
And then there's the fact that the author must've stated at least 30 times that Grant needs Renata.
Okay, I got it. He needs her.
But, God! 30 times?
It went like this while I was reading Accuse:
Oh Grant needs her. Sweet
hmmm he needs her......nice
ohhh so he needs her? great
umm....hasn't he "needed" her before?
Wait....am I reading the same paragraph again by accident?
wait.....wasn't the word "need" used before?
Oh God not "need " again
Please stop using "need"
Urghh it's "need" again
WILL YOU STOP USING THIS???
I quit. She won't stop with her fucking "need"
And the author's sense of humour is terrible. Her characters make such lame jokes, I yawn whilst reading their jibber jabber. Renata must've copied Andre at least thrice and every time she and Grant laughed like two retards.
It got so irritating that it took me 2 weeks to finish this novel. I am not happy anymore. I loved Abuse. But this book? Sorry, but nahh.
Either you stop with this shit in Avenge or I give that book 1 star.

Nikki has done it again! Just when you think it can't get any better, then bam! She wow's you and you are speechless! This next chapter in Grant and Renata's story is very thought provoking.
Both are so broken and so very endearing to each other. They are both so kind and giving. They truly care for each other and desperately want to help the other heal. They each have their own demons to slay, but in healing the other, they really are healing themselves as well.

Nikki writes with such passion and conviction. She does her homework and writes drawing from her past experiences. You get a well-rounded product that comes from the heart. This story has it all-lust, passion, frustration, angst, love, hate, some suspense, and even a bit of happiness mixed in! I can go on and on about it, but I feel you need to read it yourself to see what I mean.

My favorite, Andre, does what he does best and I love it! He is so spot on with his sentiments. The way he words things, makes you understand what he is saying, all the while not making you feel stupid or dumb. Our feelings are our feelings, and there is no right or wrong. There just has to be corrections as to how you perceive them. It doesn't hurt that he is sexy to boot!

I am a never-ending supporter of Nikki Sex! I have loved every bit of her work, and this story is no different! She is an author I never hesitate to one-click a book sight unseen! Bring on the next book in the series! I can't get it quick enough!

I was gifted a copy of this book for the express purpose of an honest review. The rating and review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

This book was the perfect next (second) installment in the wonderful "Abuse" series by Nikki Sex. Accuse continues the emotional and physical journey of Grant and Renata. It also delves into Det. Roman's character, who I really like. Andre makes appearances in this book, as well. (Amen to that! I love that man!)

This book as well as Abuse are full of incredible insights and some surprises. As with most of Nikki Sex's books (especially her series), I learned about myself and the world. By the time I finished, I was left with so much to ponder. So much food for thought and yet this book was also full of steam, and dare I say, fun.

I'd imagine that both Accuse and Abuse spoke to me at a deeper level than most readers since I am a survivor of childhood abuse. However, I believe that most adults would benefit from reading it.

Accuse was difficult to put down. I simply HAD to see what would happen next. I loved it. This book made me feel, think, gasp, sigh and even pant. I can barely wait to read the next book in this series. I'll continue to think about it and will read it again and again.

* I highly recommend this book to adults who are open to reading hot, emotionally complex books. *

Amazing!

I really love this book. Abuse is such a complicated thing to navigate. No two people will heal in the same way. I have no idea where Nikki Sex gets her profound insight. There is such relevance and clarity in all she says throughout the book in Andre's voice and even in the quotes that are a prelude to each chapter. I understand Grant and Renata and I accept them in a way I wish I could accept myself and others too. Many victims of abuse wonder about how they will be accepted after such a tragic thing alters them. It changes perceptions and appetites. How wonderfully therapeutic to find understanding without judgement, coupled with unconditional love a and acceptance. This series is one filled with passion in all its forms. It made me want to cry, cause bodily harm and ache sexually. I am so proud of Grant and Renata. These are characters you wish truly existed. Thank you Nikki.

Simply put, the author overtipped the smut factor.

Having more smut (porn) than story is a serious violation of exceptional writing, and when that happens, the author becomes their own worst enemy.

With that being said, this story could have been so much more than it was... But when authors do not recognize the "jewel" that they have in their hot little hands, then they are unknowingly free to allow that "jewel" (of an epic story in the making), to become trampled underfoot by overcooked porn.

Giving this one: 2.5 stars.

3.5 Stars.

First of all, this is not a standalone. Did you know that? I didn't. I mean, I know it's part of a series, but I figured it was telling the tale of some other characters in the same universe, and would wrap up neatly by the end. Not the case. I didn't really feel like I had missed out on anything in the beginning; Nikki did a good job bringing me up to speed so that I didn't even realize I was jumping into the middle of a series, but it definitely ends on a cliffhanger, so unless you're prepared to keep reading (and maybe go backward, and read the first one), I wouldn't suggest starting this one.

I found Grant to be a rather unique character. Based on the brief description, I assumed he was self conscious about his battle-scars, and Renata would show him he was still sexy and desirable, blah blah blah...you know the drill. But it wound up being much deeper than that. Grant's early abuse led him to associate sex with perversity/dirtiness, and so his sexual experience was extremely limited. No cuddling, no kissing, no oral, no sleeping together, etc. He's practically a virgin, except in the most technical sense. So his insecurities and fears are an interesting contrast to his dominant, Army-Sniper personality, but the author managed to make them work.

Renata, on the other hand, took the opposite approach after her abuse/horrific childhood, using sex to bring her closer to people, even making it her vocation (sexual therapist, not prostitute). She, too, has her own interesting combinations of strengths and weaknesses.

It's minor, but I have to bring it up..... what kind of a name is Briley for a baby?! I'm sorry, but it annoyed the crap out of me. I was constantly either reminded of Brillo pads or Brill Creme.

OK, so, if you haven't read book one, you really need to read it first, there's lots of information in it that adds context and history to what happens in this book.

Assuming that you have ready book one then you already know that this series deals with abuse of minors. This is challenging subject matter that can be disturbing to read for anyone, but Nikki does a fantastic job of showing the damaging results but also the possibility of healing. There is something utterly compelling in the way this book dives in, and yet does so with grace and respect.

The developing relationship between Grant and Renata is both beautiful and fascinating. Both of them are learning and healing and doing so in a way that is bringing them together.

The story has twists that I did not see coming and it held my attention from the first word to the last. I can't wait to get me hands on book 3.

The narration is very well done, the character voices are excellent and the tensions and desires in the story come across really well.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Grant and Renata are slowly helping each other heal. The past abuse still plays a huge role in their lives, but it is so touching to watch them work through it, together. They fit perfectly together. Where one is weak, the other is strong. They completely understand each other. I love Grant and Renata together. But once again, the road is not smooth. Grant is accused of killing his father. The twists and turns become intense. I found myself holding my breath and I certainly could not stop listening. I had to immediately jump into the last book in the series.

Robert Scarlato consistantly narrates André in a swoon worthy manner. Robert is able to narrate every emotion, fear and attitude Grant has and bring him to life. So many times, I felt as if I was right there witnessing the struggles. Renata is just as intricate of a character as Grant. Robert narrates her just as I imagined her. Mr. Scarlato's narration enhanced the story experience.

What happens when your secret world of abuse is out?

What can you do to control the damages created by molesters to you, your family, and friends? And maybe others? How do you handle the guilt and confusion shrouded in embarrassing memories and feelings? How con you face anyone? How can you not blame yourself?

This series helps identity the crushing guilt and suppressed emotions that plague many families, often linked to smoking, drinking, and beating abuse, drug use, low income, and poor education. Kids are defenseless, spouses can be victimized, and the perpretator is often following the same way he was trained when growing up.

Social Services cannot fix the problem. Most violations go unreported. But the kids do not go unpunished even if not responsible or guilty.

Have you ever watched out for neighbor kids in trouble? How about your own?

This one fell short of the first book. There was some mystery added in, which kept me intrigued. But a whole book about who killed Grant's father? Seems like overkill because there wasn't enough storyline.

There were large parts that were, quite literally, copied and pasted from the first book into this one. It was completely unnecessary and just annoyed me to no end. I read the first book, I don't need to read it again in book 2.

There was a lot of steamy action; it seemed like it was to show their oh so amazing chemistry. Are they in a relationship or is she his sex surrogate/therapist/prostitute-masquerading-under-a-different-name? I was waiting for something interesting to happen. I'm hoping the last book is better because this didn't work for me.
