Wasn't sure what to expect but once I started reading, I got really hooked and finished all 3 books in 2 days. By the end of it, I was actually crying my eye balls out. I recommended this novel to my sister and she asked me what made me cry so hard and I actually couldn't explain very well. The story made me feel things very deep down. It made me realise that it can be really hard being 'normal' sometimes and it's okay not to be 'normal' as well. Great read, full of hopes.
The protagonist Ayumu tells about his family and school life from when he was a baby to when he became a high school student. I still can't find the point of reading his life story over 300 pages. His mother and sister have unique and willful personalities and are illustrated comically, but I don't like them.
This book reminded me of that of John Irving's. Good details, interesting characters.
