Enid Mallory weaves the voices of everyday Canadians into a poignant history of Canada in the twentieth century. From farm to factory, coast to tundra, war to peace, electricity to the Internet - this unique grassroots perspective shows a complex people who lived both well and barely in history's most extraordinary century. THE REMARKABLE YEARS makes clear that the history of Canada is not so much about great people and events, but of ordinary Canadians and what mattered most in their lives.
Enid Swerdfeger Mallory grew up near the St. Lawrence River and saw the ghosts of Canadian history passing by. She attended Queen's University, became a social worker and then a librarian, but always a writer. She lives in Peterborough, Ontario.
