His Human Believer

Rate this book
She’s the believer. He’s the skeptic. And the Hyrrokin are back.
Something seriously creepy is happening in the dark jungle, just outside my best friend’s gated community on Tarvos.

Six children have seen something. They all describe the same thing. And every adult in that community has decided they’re mistaken.

Then the Royal Hyrrokin Academy sends someone to debunk it.

Dr. Vidar Coalstone is tall, fire-breathing, and devastatingly handsome. Black horns. Red skin. Barbed tail. Reading glasses he does not need. He thinks my Intelgram crime show is sensationalist, he thinks the children are wrong, and he is the most beautiful, terrifying scholar I have ever laid eyes on.

I’ve spent years listening to witnesses nobody believed.

He’s spent sixteen proving there’s nothing out there.

We should not be able to stand each other. Instead, our stake outs together are surprisingly stimulating (I love a good stake out). And I’m falling for a male who takes a fourteen-year-old’s testimony more seriously than most adults take mine.

Except there’s one small problem. He’s taken a twelve-month vow of celibacy in front of his entire academic council.

Twelve. Month. Vow.

Oh no.

I’ve promised to help him keep it. Ugh. And we’re living in the same house.

Then Halloween falls on the alignment of the twin moons, the one night in a generation the old stories say something comes out of that preserve for the children.

And a boy goes missing.

A slow-burn forbidden Halloween monster romance with X-Files energy, spooky vibes, and a scholarly Hyrrokin hero. Reads as a standalone.

Alien romance • Monster romance • Curvy heroine • Vow of celibacy • He falls first • Living under the same roof • Slow burn • Halloween romance • Cozy spooky • Grumpy quiet hero • Smart capable heroine • Protective found family • Return to the gated community from Books 1–3

REVIEW
# 14 His human beliver - Michelle Milly
5⭐️

I am a huge fan of monster romances, and I've been reading this series for a couple of years. Honestly, I really enjoy how Michelle creates these knightly, demon-looking aliens that steal your heart. In this book we go back to this picturesque community on the Hyrrokin Planet, where they are preparing a Halloween celebration on a special night because it is during the alignment of the twin moons. During these occurrences, there exists a legend of a creature called “The Skyggjar” that appears once each generation and scares kids. Our female lead is Maggie, the human best friend of Avery, another human mated to a Hellstone. She has a podcast that tells stories of cold cases and tries to solve them. So when she goes to Tarvos for the Halloween celebration, she finds these incidents of kids seeing a creature in the natural preserve behind the community and that a doctor has been sent to investigate, Vidar.
Since the beginning is clear, the chemistry between the main characters is kind of a love/crush at first sight. But at the same time it is a “forbidden love/crush” because Vidar took a celibacy vow to be able to complete the investigation of “The Skyggjar.” I actually liked that we got to know the characters and they got to have a relationship and true conversations before we got to the spice, but we got a few tension moments that were very on point. I must say I loved how the author managed all the scientific side of the story, how rigorous an investigation protocol is, and how important it can be for a community (people and animals/plants). In the rest of the series generally, we saw the Gravians as a good race that helped the humans, but it was interesting to see here how even in a predominantly good race there are always exceptions. I loved how serious and quick the management of the register and protection of a new species were; honestly, these kinds of decision-makers are what the real world needs: people who care and do something about it. And I enjoyed seeing both Maggie and Vidar be more carefree and less afraid of showing a more personal and vulnerable side of themselves...especially when Vidar made his request in front of a full congregation of his colleagues.
Personally, it was a quick, sweet, and spicy comfort read; I love this series and will continue to read anything the author decides to publish about it.

His Human Believer is the fourteenth book of the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series which remains as fresh and vibrant as all the preceding books.
A skeptic and believer come together in this newest story that takes place on Hyrrokin over a mystery of children who have been claiming to see something strange in the Hyrrokin wild lands.
Dr. Vidar Coalstone from the Royal Hyrrokin Academy is sent to debunk the strange sightings. But he isn’t the only investigator who will be drawn to the location.
Intelgram crime show host Margaret Reyes who is on Tarvos to celebrate Halloween with her best friend Avery’s half Hyrrokin children, soon becomes a part of the very same mystery.
Both will be staying with the Hellstones while on Tarvos and judging by Margarets reaction when being introduced to Vidar things will be getting interesting!
Loved the story which was a charming, dramatic, intriguing, and humorous, with wonderful writing, well crafted characters, surprises, and spice that coalesced into the perfect Hyrrokin read.
Settle in for a very good time on the road to that HEA and what or who is lurking in that jungle.

His Human Believer by Michele Mills is the fourteenth book in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series! And it was so much FUN!

Margaret is feisty, compassionate, caring, confident, and knows herself. She's passionate about her work, and she is so giving to those she loves.

Vidar is driven, stern, focused on his work and has a strong work ethic, and meeting Margaret completely shifts the balance, and reading about him coming to terms with that was thoroughly enjoyable.

This story has some light drama, tons of intrigue about the unknown, a passion for learning, and shares about the importance of listening, and being considerate of others. The chemistry between Margaret and Vidar sizzles and grows, and I really liked how they communicated and worked together. Also, I loved spending time with familiar faces, and Dagr! I adore how he's growing up!!!

Absolutely enjoyed this story, and loved this continuation of this ever expanding world! I hope we get to visit again soon!

This plot was fun, with an engrossing mystery, passion, humour, and interesting world building with cool (or maybe hot) aliens. Margaret is a human who solves cold cases and makes entertaining broadcasts about them. She is visiting her best friend's family on another planet when she meets Vidar, a large Hyrrokin male, who is there to research a creature he does not think exists. She is fascinated by his methods and the mystery, but if she helps him as she would like to do it will invalidate his results. Meanwhile, this is the first year that Margaret's friends will celebrate Halloween and I love how they are so enthusiastic about it. Margaret and Vidar have instant chemistry but they are not allowed to pursue it yet. I enjoyed the relationship they have with each other and with their friends. Both Halloween night and the ending were particularly entertaining.
I read an advanced copy and I am leaving an honest review.

His Human Believer is a Halloween romance and book 14 of the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series. Margaret doesn’t travel much anymore, she used to have to for her previous job with the Intergalactic Business Bureau, but now she lives in Salo amongst a species who are nice and enjoy scary stories, just like her. Her best friend lives on Tarvos and this year they are celebrating Halloween for the first time. Her best friend’s four-year-old daughter requested she come celebrate with them. So, she takes the transporter disk there, meeting up with her friend’s family. This storyline is wonderful and unexpected. The characters are perfectly written and likable. Grab this book and the rest of the series and enjoy!.

When you believe….

Just another wonderful, heartfelt read in the Monsters Love Curvy Women Series and this time it’s doubly great because the story is based on Avery’s friend Margaret who is back for a visit on Tarvos. I so love the characters - especially Skylo 🥰. And Vidar is perfect - one hot scientist who is not only honorable. You just know that when those glasses come off, he will know how to treat a lady 😉. We are treated to suspense, danger, and instant mutual attraction all while solving a mystery over the first ever Halloween on Tarvos. Oh please, please, please write Dagr’s love story one day ❤️.

I loved the story. Margaret is a wonderful character. Very devoted to her beliefs but willing to see all sides to the myth. And she is friends with Avery Hellstone . We meet her in His Human Assistant. Not only is she helping with the first Halloween but also helping Dr. Vidar Coalstone.
I liked the chemistry between them. Vidar has a lot on his plate. Not only trying to prove a myth is unreal but also keeping his vow. I'm glad Margaret is there to help with both.
This can be read as a standalone. Slow burn to the romance with eventual steam. Mysteries are solved. A few twists to make the story interesting. POV of each. And of course the epic HEA for them.

This was another fab addition to the series and I loved that both characters had a background in research, which was perfect for this story. Margaret's on planet to help celebrate the first ever Halloween festivities and ends up connecting strongly with Vidar, a scientist looking to disprove a very old legend/myth. These two spark chemistry like crazy but there are blocks (Ha! IYKYK ;P) that prevent them from acting on that chemistry. They did, however, work together fabulously and when it's needed, combine their strengths to help Dagr and catch the baddie. Expect to get caught up in the connection, mystery, suspense, family, Halloween antics and wonderful slow burn, but hot, romance, when you crack this one open. It's sweet, steamy and very entertaining. I loved it :D

my favorite curvy girls and Hyrrokin offspring

On a vacation to see her best friend Avery and her children at their gated community home in Hyrrokin, Margaret Reyes meets Dr. Vidar Coalstone. He is investigating strange sighting by children of an undocumented “Skyggjar creature” 😂😂 funny because they are red, bald and taloned and most human scream when first introduced.

Margaret falls for Vidar instantly but has to slow her role because he is 2 months into a vow of celibacy. Despite being on vacation while enjoying Avery’s family, she offers to help search for the creature but finds she believes the children.

They get progressively infatuated as the mystery is resolved and another BBW and a Hyrrokin doctor are happily ever after.

Vidar and Margaret meet at her best friend, Avery, house. Vidar is a scholar there to prove the Skyggjar does not exist. Margaret is there to help Avery and her family celebrate their first Halloween on Tarvos. What follows (besides falling in love) is an adventure in changing perceptions. I really loved this MLCG adventure. I think it's one of my favorites. It's not super steamy but it doesn't need to be. I love the world of Tarvos and I adore the characters. Michele Mills is a very talented writer, with a knack of producing wonderful, warm characters that I care about and a storyline that keeps me reading far too late in the night. 5+ stars

This was an unusual story. Or should I say fable or folklore. This love story has a compelling argument to it. Whether you are a believer or not, someone has to prove the facts regardless of the outcome.

This is a story that lures you in. We have two amazing characters who are objective enough to see the big picture and who work together seamlessly. Their attraction and limitations for one another is admirable. 🔥

The world building is captivating and deserves compassion that needed documenting.

That ending though was classic. Who knew the Hyrrokin males could be so romantic 💜.

This Series Is My Happy Place 😊

I forgot how much I love these stories & the Hyrrokin men who fall for curvy human women. Maggie & Vidar were wonderful characters, and love that his vow of celibacy allowed the storyline to let them really get to know each other. When a slow burn is done right it’s really good, and this was done just right. Add in a touch of mystery & suspense, and you have the perfect backdrop to a sweet & captivating romance. Was just right for a weekend read (would’ve been one day if life wasn’t lifing lol). Just love this series, and have from the start. Can’t wait for more ❤️

Imagine going on vacation and coming across a mystery that's within your line of work and falling in love with the being who is conducting the investigation. Crazy right? That's exactly the situation Margaret finds herself in while visiting her friend Avery on Tarvos. She doesn't want to hinder Vidar's investigation regarding this mythical being but she's been in this line of work for a long time and she's a believer that the truth is out there.

I really enjoyed this one. But who am I kidding, I always look forward to this series. I do love me some Hyrrokin and this was a great addition to the series.

This is the 14th book in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series & I enjoyed visiting Tarvos & the Hyrrokins again. Avery’s friend Margaret comes for a visit at the same time as Dr Vidar Coalstone, a scholar and skeptic of a mythical being he is investigating. Margaret, a true crime podcaster, is more than willing to work alongside Vidar. Their connection is quick and while Vidar longs for Margaret, he’s taken a pesky 12 month vow of celibacy to focus on his work. There’s tension, there’s action, a fun first Halloween on Tarvos and two beings made for each other. Quick, satisfying story.

I like Margaret. She knows who she is, what suits her best, reaches for her goals and is brave enough to admit if she has made the wrong choice. She is practical and patient, and knows what she wants, and that is Vidar. Margaret is a good friend and best of all, she is funny with a great sense of humour. Vidar is bowled over by Margaret, but he is honourable and is duty bound. I love the waiting element in this story and it keeps up the anticipation. This is a thoughtful story with great characters and would love to see more of this academic world that Vidar has introduced.

This is an awesome monster romance. I enjoyed the relationship and how it grew between Vidar and Margaret. She is a plus sized lady and he loves it. It was nice to read a love story about a woman who doesn't fit the model type. Most of us don't fit that and are grateful for a story that fits us perfectly. I loved the three headed wulver and wish we had them here on earth. I highly recommend this book to all sci-fi monster romance readers.

I loved it!

I have been a huge fan of the series and all the off shoots within this Universe, so I was thrilled about this stepping back and revisiting all of the characters from the previous books. Thank you Michelle for letting us see how they've been doing, and allowing us to see Margaret, and First struggle through their mutual attraction, while honoring his vow. I really loved the story, and the subject. Highly recommend this whole series. Trish. A.

My favorite in the series!

For some reason this book hit for me in a way that I haven’t experienced since very early in the series. I loved these characters and thought they fit together so well in a way that was so sweet. They’re both professional and intelligent, but with so much warmth you just respect them both a lot. Plus I might cry because of grown up Dagr coming into his own - I love the way the series has progressed to get here.

“His Human Believer” by Michele Mills

-This is such a fun addition to the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series!
I really like Margaret and Vidar, and their slow-burn chemistry feels natural and sweet. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
The mystery, Halloween on Tarvos, humor, and familiar faces make this one especially enjoyable. I absolutely loved revisiting this world and seeing how much the characters have grown—definitely an enjoyable read!

Trama enrevesada y aburrida.

Just as awesome as the other books in the series

The humor between characters in the book gets me laughing so hard people around me want to know what I am reading. The chemistry between Margaret and V is electric and fun. I enjoy the world Michelle Mills has created. The hardest part is always waiting for the next book.

A True Believer

I enjoyed visiting Tarvos again. I have enjoyed all of the "Monster" books and all of the "Monster Bites" series. Each one has an interesting plotline independently of each other, but with the same theme - an alien/human romance. I also like Michelle's vision of the planet. After reading all in these series, I can truly imagine being on an alien planet.

Another hit ☺️

At first I wasn't sure I was going to like it but then the reading got interesting and I enjoyed every page. The book has a bit of action and lots of sweet interactions between the main characters. I must certainly enjoyed Margaret and her red skin, fire breathing love of her life. Loved it.

Nice relaxing read but it still had a nice slow building sexual tension between the two characters. Also loved how it was an instant love but also a not too lovey that it was sickly. Can’t wait to read more monster love curvy girls books.
