This book gave me MySpace Friendfield vibes in the best way. 😂 When MySpace first came out, we had our real-life friends, but then you also had all these friends from different cities and states that you had never actually met in person. That’s exactly the vibe this book gave me.

Because imagine having an online best friend for over a year, never knowing what they look like, and then randomly meeting them in person and immediately feeling that spark but not understanding why the connection feels so strong because you don’t realize you already know each other. I loved that whole concept!

This is definitely my favorite book in the series so far. I also really enjoyed the FMC’s inner dialogue, which made the reading experience even better. I’ll definitely be checking out more of this author’s catalog because this one had me INVESTED.

This was a really cute college romance. Ivy & Rowan have a super cute meet-cute on her first day on campus. Unbeknownst to them, they’ve been online besties for the past year! It was such a good time watching their real-life connection develop through flirty banter, easy chemistry, and that comfortable familiarity that made it feel like they’d known each other forever. I’m glad that what they built online translated so well in real life.

This is a novella, so it’s short and to the point, but I still felt like I got a nice, complete story.

Capturing Blue

Rowan and Ivy are so cute together. The moment they finally discovered who each other really was made everything even cuter. Amara and Kaden had me cracking up, especially when Kaden had Ivy and Amara standing outside waiting to get into the party! Their banter and chemistry were so entertaining, and I would love a follow-up story featuring those two. Overall, this was such a fun read!

Cute and sensual

I know that sounds funny. But the Crum University stories are sexy and kinda calm too... My girl Bleu might be my favorite heorine.

Capturing Bleu by Evie Daniels - Favorite Moments & Thoughts

This book had me laughing because WHAT are the odds?! 😂 Two people meet through Instagram, talk for an entire YEAR without ever seeing each other’s faces, build this whole friendship, and then end up meeting in real life?! I loved every bit of their college romance.

My favorite moment was definitely back at the cabin when they finally started asking each other about their Instagram profiles and realized they had known each other this entire time. 🥹 Then finally being able to talk about their feelings and everything that had developed between them made the moment even sweeter.

BUTTTT 😂 another moment I loved was at the party when that rude girl Victoria purposely spilled her drink on Ivy. Rowan made sure to check her IMMEDIATELY! And I loved that because we don't do disrespectful people over here. 😂 Rowan stood on BUSINESS when it came to Ivy, okay?!

Overall, this was such a cute story. 💕 I loved the whole idea of falling for someone emotionally before really knowing who they were in real life.

I loved getting to see Black characters in hockey because that representation is still so rare, but what really stayed with me was Ivy’s willingness to take a chance on something new. She throws herself into the college experience with such fearlessness, from going to her first party and finding a crush to getting initiated into a campus society within 48 hours. I admired how her willingness to explore and try new things ultimately led her back to Crumb University.

I also loved the reveal that Ivy and her new friend had actually been internet friends for years. Instead of creating unnecessary drama, it added another layer to their friendship, and seeing them laugh about it by the end was so reassuring. Their friendship endured the surprise and became even more meaningful because of it. Overall, this was such a fun story about taking chances, finding your people, and letting life surprise you.

ARC Review
Book 1 of Crum University Series.

My understanding the Crum University series consists of several books, each centering around a sport. Book 1 centers around field hockey (which I absolutely love because field hockey isn’t often highlighted). Two Crum University seniors literally collided into each other not knowing their paths have already crossed before digitally. The highlight of the story is the banter between Ivory (Bleu) and Rowan. The joking & flirting made the two such a likable pair. Rowan’s subtle persistence in trying to capture Bleu was swoon worthy because he was still a gentleman in his pursuit. It’s a great book 1 to kickstart the series with.

Tropes:
He falls first
Road trip
College romance
Insta love
Field hockey sport

Spice level:
🌶️🌶️🌶️

4.5 stars overall and it’s a novella (quick read).

Online Friends Hit Different in Real Life

Secret identities will get me every time, so Capturing Bleu already had my attention.

Ivy and Rowan's online friendship added a fun layer to their real-life connection, especially with everything they didn't know about each other. I enjoyed waiting for those pieces to come together while watching their relationship develop outside of the screen.

This was a quick, fast-paced read, but Evie Daniels gave the plot enough room to develop. I never felt like I was missing information or being rushed from one moment to the next just because the story moved quickly.

It was funny, easy to get into, and kept me turning pages. I picked it up expecting a cute read and ended up having a really good time with it.

And apparently all you have to do is give me a secret identity and I'm listening.

I was given a copy of this book by the author, thank you. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

Capturing Bleu is a cute, quick read college romance that’s perfect when you want something short and sweet. 💙

Ivy and Rowan have been online friends for about a year, but they’ve never seen each other or know what the other looks like. After Ivy transfers to Crum University, her senior year, they literally bump into each other and have no idea they’ve just met.

I loved that they started building a connection completely off vibes, some flirty banter, and chemistry before finally realizing who they were to each other. And once that realization hit? 👀 Things definitely escalated.

A quick and cute read to add to your list! 💙📚

Capturing Bleu is an engaging novella centered on two college students who form a connection in real life without realizing they are actually the same people talking online. Going in, I expected a traditional meet-cute where the characters might vent to their online confidant about the person they just met in real life, so watching the plot unfold without that specific overlap was an interesting twist on the trope. There were a couple moments that made it to my list of favorites. I recommend for those looking for something quick and light.

Omg this was such an adorable and fun college romance! I love that it was low angst and an easy read. Rowan and Ivy had me cracking up the entire time. I loved their banter so much! There’s just enough spice, yearning, tension, and (slight) conflict in this story to make it the perfect palette cleanser! College is such a precious and chaotic time, and I feel like this story captured how quickly your plans can change at college!

This was an almost perfect novella for me, and I can’t wait to read more from Crum University !

Read this as an ARC, and it was a cute read!! Originally I was not aware that it was a novella (probably my bad), but still a good read! Ivy wanted to fight her attraction to Rowan and I'm glad she gave up😂 He was so sweet, and there was this ease between them where things just flowed. No drama, no catty or annoying exes, just some young adults realizing they like each other and seeing where it goes.

A Beautiful Surprise

Capturing Bleu was such a cute story. Ivy and Rowan finding out that they’ve been secretly DM’ing each other for over a year was truly a good surprise. I love how they learned to embrace all sides of each other and allowed themselves to truly live, love and care for one another. A photographer and a visionary athlete finally let their guards down and embrace a true love that will be everlasting.

Thank you to Evie Daniels for allowing me to ARC this story.

This was such a cute read! Rowan and Ivy definitely had a cute little insta-attraction to each other at first meeting. So glad Ivy decided to lean into her college experience and let her guard down enough to get to know Rowan. And what a cute little surprise that they were already acquainted. I do wish we had more but for a novella this checked all the boxes and you just know they have a good happily ever after forever!

Ivy and Rowan's story was incredibly cute, and I love that their in-person run-in started with a meet-cute, followed by the revelation of their internet connection. Ivy's cheeky disposition really made their story feel fun and light, and it was nice seeing her open up to new experiences alongside her budding romance (and spicy cabin weekend) with Rowan. This is a fun novella that makes for a perfect fall read.

This was a wonderful start to this Crum University series! I was actually giggling and kicking my feet from start to finish! Per usual I wish her novellas were full books because she always leaves me wanting more from the characters she creates! But as always Evie never disappoints, especially with her novellas! I definitely intend on reading the other authors apart of this universe books!

Ughhhhh, I DEF wanted a full length by the time I got to the end. I really liked the premise of being online friends and having no idea you’re actually dealing with that person already on a daily basis! Ivy and Rowan had good banter which I always enjoy. Also, though we didn’t get to see A LOT of her I really loved Amara quickly.

Rowan and Ivy were super cute. I really thought they'd both freak out more once they found out each other's identity, but I was surprisingly okay with how it played out. P.S. I was really trying to get into Amara and Kayden's business lol

Smitten for Rowan

This was a good and quick read! My favorite part was when Rowan knocked Ivy's books down and they have an exchange. He asks her name essentially then says he prefers Bleu. She was like watch if I answered that and he said, "You will."

I love Evie Daniels

In 81 pages she gave us friendship, love, connection, conquering new worlds and a pinch of spice.

What are the odds that Rowan and Ivy were able to find one another Ivy’s first minutes on campus? We got to see their banter and how well they mesh with one another.

If you’re looking for a quick read that gives you sweet moments and the “one bed” trope, look no further! Happy reading 📖

I love an online friends to lovers trope and even though there wasn't a whole lot of texting it was all just really cute. I loved the banter.

What a cute college romance for Ivy and Rowan. Falling for your online bestie! The one person you feel you can be true self with online, no face then you bump into them and not know! I have had a time at CU. Let me get ready for HOCO!
