Intense and emotional race! I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
If you read Her Envy, then this will definitely be emotional with the return of El, or Elise as she was known to her first love and her sister. The prologue will gut you and have you needing to keep reading. So much more to our El…
Cass is devastated with the death of Elise and vows to take down her father and businesses. She’s a street racer who lives hard and may just love harder. Audrey is Elise’s older sister that left as soon as she could to get away from her father and his business. She thought her sister was safe, being the favorite. She is brought back to take over the family business she never wanted anything to do with. All she wants is to race her cars and love her cat.
Together, these two are explosive. Their chemistry is palpable in so many ways. It’s a slow, slow burn that leads to quite the climax ;).
Recommend!

Imagine *Fast & Furious*, but make it sapphic and add a LOT of spice. Basically, you already have my attention.
Overall, I really enjoyed *Her Sloth*. Getting to see familiar characters again always feels strangely comforting, and the story itself was engaging. I particularly appreciated the amount of detail surrounding the cars and street racing. You can tell there was research behind it, and that attention to detail made the whole setting feel much more convincing and immersive.
Something I continue to appreciate about M. C. Raven's writing is the way she handles heavier subjects such as trauma, grief, and suicidal ideation. These themes aren't dismissed or turned into jokes simply because the story is dark, chaotic, and spicy. There is a sensitivity and respect in the way they're approached that I genuinely appreciate.
That being said, the final 40% didn't work quite as well for me. The ending started to feel rushed, and I would have loved to see much more of the downfall of Whitney-Morgan rather than having that part of the story move so quickly.
I also found the amount of physical aggression between the two MCs excessive at times. Personally, I don't think all of it was necessary and, by the end, my main conclusion was very simple: both of these women need therapy ASAP.
Still, this was a fun, dark, chaotic ride that I would happily recommend. As always with dark romance, though, please check the trigger warnings before jumping in.

Have tissues at hand because right from the prologue C.M.Raven will have you in tears especially if you have read Her Envy. You can definitely tell that C.M.Raven loves cars because the information on the cars are so detailed again a sign of brilliant research.
It’s amazing to see how grief and guilt can work hand in hand and how it is a part of life. It is written so well that you as the reader feel the grief that these characters feel. It’s also nice that C.M.Raven has shown how grief can affect people in different ways whether it is through anger like with Cass or through sadness with Audrey. But they both still feel guilt in different forms.
The way C.M.Raven writes about suicidal ideation is powerful. It’s not written in a mocking way or making light of the situation. It’s written with true feelings and that is the sign of fantastic writing. She makes you feel for the characters she writes because it is a healing arc for so many. Sometimes it is the people who are least likely to care who are the ones actually around giving a damn. You think Cass is a cold rebel who has anger and guilt but beneath that icy exterior she is growing to care for Audrey.
The way C.M.Raven talks about coping with trauma is riveting how sometimes you have to do the worst things to feel like yourself again. Cass has already grown to care so much about Audrey even if she denies it constantly. The writing is strong it makes you feel the things you have had locked away for years. It brings those feelings to the surface and gets you to face them head on. And because those feelings are brought to the surface you are able to start healing and I think everyone needs a bit of healing at times. This book does that just like the others in the series. It makes you feel things that have been hidden away so that you can finally start to heal from it. Not a lot of books can bring out the healing arc but C.M. Raven manages to do that in every book she writes and has done an excellent job at it in this book.
The banter is definitely wild in this one between Cass and Audrey one minute they are helping each other heal and cracking jokes, the next they are going 10 rounds fighting the hell outta each other to feel something. It is definitely a slow burn, emotional to the core but slow burn until the spice hits later. When that spice hits it hits hard so is definitely worth the wait and the emotions. I love how much of a brat Cass starts out to be before she fully trusts Addy to take the lead.
This book was filled with healing arcs yes it was emotional and brought feelings to the surface but it was so healing. It showed that it’s okay to not know who you are yet and that it can take time to figure out what makes you happy. It doesn’t mean it’s wrong or anything just makes it real life. C.M.Raven has once again done wonders with this book and it is again a smash hit in the series. If you like street racing, banter galore, using fights as foreplay, and you are willing to read till the end for the wonderful wonderful spice, then this is the book for you. Highly recommend to anyone who has ever felt lost and not known who they are because this is the healing arc you need.

I mean it when I say this, but I am going to be devastated when this series ends!
Each and every book in the Her Sins series has made me feel so many emotions. From heart warming fluff, to heart wrenching angst, C.M Raven had created a world filled with characters that toe the line of morality. A world that explores the grey areas in humanity, where things aren’t simply black and white. And I have loved every single second of each of these books.
Now in Her Sloth, I didn’t understand a single car reference, I’m not that flavour of lesbian, I fall more on the nerdy side of things, and yet I found myself enthralled by this world of street racing. And my god did this book pack a punch.
There was a toxicity to the main relationship and Christ do I love me some toxic lesbians. But at the same time there was a rawness and vulnerability to their toxicity and it’s just added to the overall chemistry between the two.
I can also confirm, that despite its lower spice count, the scenes pack on hell of a punch and I think they’re some of my favourite from this series.

Her Sloth by C.M. Raven is the sixth book in the Her Sins series. I was given an ARC by the author without expectations and wanted to share my experience with this book. I am not big on cars or car racing, yet this piece of the story is so essential, and I discovered reader anticipation of roaring engines is great for focus…. always on a new learning journey. This book is dark in ways that I had yet to encounter reading this series The twists are big and bold and the dark places protected… or maybe not…. see for yourself. The violence is loud too yet engaging in a way that folks who enjoy intense impact play will not be able to set this down. The question in my head was where is this journey headed. The entanglement of relationships, experiences and emotions among the characters are a true adrenaline gift that was unexpected. I find it hard to review this book without adding spoilers. What I can say is it was a slower sexual burn than previous books in the series but the angst, suspense, and trauma on the way makes this a 100% gift for readers who love more extreme kink play. C M Raven’s ability to bring the emotional intensity that comes with the in real time impactful BDSM to the pages… that is a kudo. I highly suggest reading the trigger warnings and heeding them as this book is incredible with dark themes abounding.

Another great story and this in the spirit of Fast and Furious is also the penultimate book in the series is no less exciting than the previous others.
Though overall it was enjoyable, it did feel a little slow at the start and I was beginning to tire of the whining and complaining about how sad each of their life was and the constant bickering and fighting, literally, between them. Also, some parts of the plot didn't really make much sense and fell illogical but apart from that, it was fine.
Thankfully things started to pick up after the halfway mark and I was enthralled till the end. It was both sad and emotional. The story of Elise from the previous book is a sad and tragic one. The aftermath carries on to this episode for two people that had loved her.
It would have been nice if a little more was expanded on the aftermath and ramifications of the fall of the Whitney-Morgan empire and it was nice to see characters from previous books make their re-appearance. It would have been nice but not necessary I suppose and life goes on and the smut must too!

This is the 6th book in the “Her Sins” series and unfortunately this was my least favorite so far even though it’s another well written, gripping story from the author.
And of course there were some aspects I liked:
- the characters. I grew attached to each and every one of them
- omg, the spicy scenes are AMAZING. That hunter/prey cnc scene!? Living rent free in my head now!
But overall it just wasn’t my cup of tea because:
- I found all the talk about the cars’ technical details and who’s speeding where incredibly boring (yep, I’m clearly not a car lover)
- both Cass and Audrey should see a therapist. Like immediately! I enjoy slightly fucked up characters but I found their mental health issues a bit too intense to really enjoy their story
And of course there were some aspects I liked:

.The introduction was really intense as the Porche and the Dodge Challenger race through the traffic lights. The police siren chases the Porche until it crashes. Cass, the Dodge Challenger driver angrily returns to Manhattan and seeks revenge against Elise's father's companies. Very rivotting. Raven certainly loves cars. The reader is tagged along the loudness of the chapter music list, the pistons and the turbos
I love how Cass recognised the Porche before she recognises Elise's sister. You can hear the rage bounce off the page. I imagine Sloth being slow and lazy but 'Her Sloth 'gives us a different meaning. 'Her Sloth' makes us feel alive, teary, but alive.

Another dark romance by C.M.Raven.
Whilst I enjoyed the storyline overall and the spicy scenes were hot, This book felt rushed and unfortunately is my least favourite in the series.
It would have been nice to have some expansion on the aftermath of everything coming to light in the media. Hitting the 'epilogue' at 80% read was confusing and a little disappointing at first but this is where most of the spice is! Over all 3.75-4 /5.

The story of Cass and Addy was in a class by itself. It gave me all the feels. It was sad, but it made you care for all the characters. They hurt each other to help each other. Definitely enemies to lovers. It is a dark story, but i came out feeling good. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. It is worth the read.

IN my soul
oh gosh, i definitely cried for this one and i’m not one to cry but i felt each and every emotions as my own. immediately they clicked even if they were too stubborn to see for a while. THIS is the true definition of family; sticking it out together and not taking it too personal, understanding one other even if it’s hard to hear. another 5 ⭐️ from me 🤩

Wow what a phenomenal story, I loved the main characters their chemistry was hot but their difficulties are heartwrenching their journey through it all was exceptionally written keeping you hooked from the first page till last a must-read congratulations

This book have had me going through multiple packs of tissues and the need to handle some big emotions 😍🐰 it has been such a ride where I wanted to come back for more for each chapter I read and I'm definitely gonna read it multiple times in the future 😍🐰
