A heartbreaking account of poor decision-making
Karla is understandably devastated when her boyfriend of many years is found to be the father of her friend, Missy’s baby. Since the trio are all still teenagers, their parents are soon involved with both Jonathan and Missy’s parents forcing their own decisions, despite the young couple’s negative response.
Missy is portrayed as a flighty and indecisive young woman who just wants to have fun; Jonathan evades any responsibility in his hasty actions, while Karla hands over her heartbreak to God, proving that she has the insight to come to terms with the situation.
While the reader can empathise with each individual, including all the parent couples, it is nevertheless difficult to condone the actions taken by many of protagonists, especially with the fallout occurring after the birth of the baby.

I didn't realize when I picked this up that I've actually read and enjoyed another book by this author before, so that was a nice surprise.
Overall, I liked this one and especially appreciated the faith elements woven throughout the story. The writing itself wasn't an issue for me, but I did find myself wishing certain parts had been developed a little more. There were several moments, relationships, and situations that were presented as established facts, and then the story simply moved on. I wanted a bit more depth and explanation to help those moments land emotionally.
The continual tragedies felt realistic and believable, but the amount of such trauma packed into such a short period of time started to feel a little dramatic. While it didn't ruin the story, it did make some parts harder to fully connect with.
Even with those criticisms, I enjoyed the book overall and would definitely consider picking up more from this author in the future.

So i went into the book blindly and i didn’t know what to expect but it was so good! I was hooked from the first chapter.
I love dramas and this book delivered!
Missy? Selfish and childish. I thought her experiences will make her grow but then i was so annoyed at her character.
I love Jonathan’s growth from the beginning of the book till the end, i love how he realizes he needed God and he went back to Him.
Roger? What a walking red flag!
I love the plot twists in the book, I really did not see it coming.
Overall, this is a beautiful piece!

I enjoyed the Bible verses before each chapter. They were always so fitting for the chapter.
You could feel God’s presence as some of the characters dealt with the unfortunate circumstances they were in. God helped them to forgive others mistakes.

This book was certainly different. At first I wasn’t too sure about the book but kept reading and did enjoy its uniqueness. There were so many emotions and surprises in this book.
