I'm not going to do a synopsis since others have already done that. I'll just say that I loved this second story in the saga of Daniel and Mary. This book delved a little deeper into their relationship and it was a good segue from Encore into Archangel. The ending made me feel pretty sure there will be a third book, especially since there was something left open with Mary's brother, Damien. I can't wait to read more!

ARC Kindle Copy for Review

The continuing saga of Mary Tudor and Daniel Kennedy concludes in Archangel.

Things are going well with Daniel on tour which pushes back wedding plans. Mary’s alter ego Archangel puts random appearances during Daniel’s concert. Which record companies are interested in having her make her own CD.

Mary must deal with a record guy’s wife who wants to be in the middle of things using her clout as working for the record company as well. She’s the type who is looking up for her next richer conquest as she eyes Daniel and treats Mary like dirt.

When Daniel collapses from overworking and must take time off work, Mary and her twin brother finds other ways to promote Archangel as they plan to make her known to the public. Along the way, Amadeus gets hurt saving his sister from a stalker who once stalked his wife.

Will Daniel and Mary get to live happily ever after with all these outside forces? A nice ending to complete their story coming full circle.

This was another decent read from Jamie Salisbury. In this book we hear much more from Mary than Daniel. Mary has a lot going on in this story, but I felt that the lack of much of Daniel left something to be desired. There were a lot of things left open at the end of this story, many more questions than answers, leaving the door open for a followup. There also seems to be some interesting developments with Mary's brother Damien. Possibly a story of his own, or a spinoff? I still think that the story was well written, as the characters were well developed as usual, but the plot seems to be a bit disconnected from the previous book. I had to put it down a few times, and come back to it after reading something else, so the problem may just be the circumstances in which I read it. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Mary and Daniel have been through a lot to get to where they are today and it seems the hits just keep on coming. Now that her secret is out at least to Daniel they want to move towards getting Archangel some spotlight as well. How to do so soon becomes an issue. As Daniel is gearing up for another CD release some security concerns arise not so much for him but for Mary. Seems someone is out to get her at whatever cost. With so much on the table they are both worried. Amadeus swoops in to try and help where he can and in a bizarre turn of events gets injured. Mary and Daniel go through so much personally in this story as well that you will laugh, cry and cheer them on. A great read that will leave you thirsting for more of their tale.

I read this on the back on Encore, back to back, one after the other. So, I should have had some idea what exactly was going on, since they follow on, time wise.

BUT I found some things were not clear, some things changed between the end of Encore and the beginning of Archangel. The wedding date, that they were going to just have the two of them, that they talked about having children, and now Mary is distaught when her period comes. All these things changed, with hardly any explanation.

It is written MOSTLY from Mary's POV, but we do get some Daniel here, and thats the only reason I managed to finsih it. We dont get much, there is far more Mary than Daniel, but there was just enough to keep me interested, but only just.

It also appears this story is not finished, as Penny needs dealing with, there is a surprise to the pregnancy, and will Damien, Mary's brother get a story?? who is his new lady friend?? I have to admit, I wanna read that story rather more than I wanna read Mary and Daniel's. My interest is piqued!

BUT

I'm sorry

I was given an ARC book set for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.

CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS ; WARNING: CONTAINS MATURE AND ADULT CONTENT

This was another wonderful read by Jamie! I completely enjoyed this book. I literally had to make myself put down the book to go to work. The characters and the story-line are so believable and interesting, it is easy to get wrapped up in their story!

Book 2 picks up where book 1 leaves off. Mary and Daniel are still deeply in love. They move forward in their relationship. Mary and Daniel decide to purchase a place in New York City. Both of them love the life of the city. Daniel is still extremely busy touring and promoting his music. Mary's alter ego Archangel begins to make an occasional appearance at Daniel's concerts. This brings more publicity to Archangel. Along with all of this, Mary is also reconnecting with her family and trying to plan a marriage to Daniel. With Daniel burning both ends of the candle and Mary's career taking off, how does the couple manage? Does their relationship survive?

There will have to be another book in this series with all of the unanswered questions. I can not wait to read it. Thank you Jamie for another great read!

I thought for a moment in the beginning that this was off to a good start. It sort of fizzled back down to just ok in the middle. I felt that a couple of times when we're given Danny's POV that it was pointless. One just recounted everything Mary had said and the other just didn't flow properly.

This story and these characters have so much potential but I don't see them reaching it.

It was another OK read for me.
