Loved the story. It’s not always easy to have such a close relationship with cats but there are exceptions. Cats control everything, They come in to our lives so innocently but before you know it they are in control of your heart, your home that you would think they pay the mortgage.

The relationship Niki had with her cats was unique. She involved her son and husband in this relationship and the closeness they shared was beautiful. Lola was special and the reaction to people responding to that first Instagram was amazing.

Lola’s mission will continue because so many people loved her. Lola, Luey and Luca will leave their mark of love on anyone who reads this beautiful book and understands their remarkable story.

I relate to Niki Vardy in her story of My Life & Lola because my own soul cat, Annie, also has been in my life since my 20s, all of my 30s, and now in my 40s. I enjoyed reading chapters from this poignant memoir during bedtime and brunch, as the vivid moments Niki shared with Lola tugged at my heartstrings. I also feel like Annie and I can connect with Niki and Lola because we created a cause through our nonprofit, ANAK KO, for grievers, plus I also wrote a book about my Annie through ANAK KO. Seeing Lola as a constant through Niki’s life changes reminds me of how I value Annie through my growth as a person. Lola is a world celebrity, beloved by many yet our own pets, who are treasured and cherished by us and maybe a few others, still matter. That’s the point that Niki conveyed: Lola led a mission to offer other animals love and fulfillment of their needs. We love you, Lola.
