ARC review!!

4.5/5 stars

Wow! This book is the perfect summer book!

Mitch and Callie’s friends have always known they’ve loved each other. A couple weeks before the 4th of July they decide to start dating, but not tell anyone until they’re sure it’ll last. One thing leads to another and Callie’s pregnant. Like all small towns, everyone starts talking. And with the two of them being young and in the church they know they’ve messed up. But they go through it all together. The gossip, the yelling from parents, the constant questioning of marriage and how on earth they’re going to get through it all.

This book was really well written and kept me reading. All the trips to the cottage, small American town and going to the fair made it feel so summery, a perfect beach read.

Mitch and Callie suited each other so well and I was rooting for them so much!!

Thank you to Jordan Riley for letting me have an ARC of this book! I was so impressed!!

soooo good other than a weird time jump in the middle. I wish it wasn’t so abrupt but other than that this book was great!!

I love the characters and the overall vibes. I also love how faith and God was woven in without it feeling fake or making the story seem like a sermon. it was so natural and great and it makes me want to read more books with faith themes if they’re done as well as this one!! 🤗

also it’s crazy that the main character is named callie elise??? me too?!!??? and one of the friends is named maddie?? LIKE WHATTT

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨️ (3.75 Stars)

I’ve read Jordan Riley’s other books and have loved every one of them, so I was really excited for this release. Unfortunately, this one wasn’t my favorite.

First, I loved Callie and Mitch. I enjoyed watching both of them grow throughout the story and navigate such a life-changing situation together. Since the book centers around a teen pregnancy, I was especially excited to see how they would handle all the challenges that came with it. I loved seeing the beginning stages of that journey, figuring out how to tell their parents, processing everything, and trying to navigate what their future would look like. I also enjoyed that this was Wrenley’s cousin Callie’s story. Since we first met her in Love on the Line, it was fun getting to revisit that connection and see her get her own book.

I do wish we had gotten Callie’s POV when she first found out she was pregnant. I would have loved to see her taking the test and processing those emotions in real time. At first, I thought that was my only disappointment, but then came the nine-month time jump.

My biggest issue with the book was that we jumped from Callie being around eight weeks pregnant to a point where the baby was already three months old. For me, that skipped over what felt like the most important part of the story. We missed the pregnancy itself, Callie adjusting to all the changes in her body, preparing for motherhood, the birth, postpartum recovery, and those first few months with a newborn. I also would have loved to see moments like choosing the baby’s name and making plans for their future. There was so much growth and development that could have happened during that time, and I really wanted to experience it alongside the characters.

Overall, this was a mixed read for me. I enjoyed the characters, their growth, and the concept of the story, but I couldn’t help feeling disappointed by how much of the pregnancy and early parenthood journey was skipped. Even so, Jordan Riley is still an author I love and will continue to read, and I’m looking forward to whatever she writes next 🫶🏻

the tears that fell from my eyes, just from reading this book — could fill an entire lake. no joke

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
no spice

i found myself reading this at the GYM because of how much it drew me in. i had to hold in too many tears (which is SO hard)

jordan packed a punch with this book. the summer nostalgia, best friends brother, friends to partners, teen pregnancy, coming of age, and christian worldview hit me really hard. not because i got pregnant as a teen, but because of how emotional and relatable this story is.

i’m 21 but i got to bask in a teenage summer at the lake house on the boat. i got to be in a friend group that genuinely cared for each other. i got to feel all of the emotions that callie and mitch felt, with their growing crush for each other, and everything that stemmed from it.

i personally think it is SO SPECIAL for someone to connect to a book so much. and it’s not even that i got to relate to every single aspect of the book, but because of the emotional connection to every character that came from it.

and it wasn’t just callie and mitch that i was able to connect to. i connected with luke and maddie as well. they showed that relationships are hard sometimes, and it will only work if you BOTH want it to work and prove to each other that you’re willing to work for it.

but the biggest thing in this book that i connected with… God… this book shows that people make mistakes that can change the rest of your life. the “mistake” that happened in this book happened to turn into callie and mitch’s biggest blessing — and that’s what babies are! babies are the biggest blessing. mitch and callie were struggling — as any 18 year old would be — with thoughts of doubt, uncertainty, and fear. later on they came to understand that God wasn’t mad at them for what they did. no. even though they fell into sin, they were adults and they were able to figure out the right path. and they were able to do that when they learned that they could lean on God and trust in him and his timing.

heat of the moment shows that life isn’t easy. but knowing you have someone to lean on is easier <3

Arc Review

Heat Of The Moment is a coming of age romance.

Immediately Jordan Riley sets the scene of a small lake town and all the perfect sights, sounds, and scents of summer that left me wanting to be in the story.

Callie (FMC) and Mitch (MMC) are fresh out of high school graduation and exploring their feelings for each other and crossing the boundaries of friendship into something more. Drunk on new love and the excitement of their new relationship they let themselves become intimate in a way they didn’t intend to.

Their lives change when Callie becomes pregnant. Their summer is no longer days at the lake with friends, day drinking, and nights by the fire. Callie and Mitch now have to grow up quickly, tell their families not just about their relationship but that they will be parents. There is so much they don’t know how to do and they are scared but they know they need to figure out.

As a reader exploring faith centered fiction it was refreshing to see characters that make mistakes and aren’t perfect or claim to be. Callie and Mitch struggled with the guilt of their sin and the judgement they not only placed on themselves but received from their community.

Mitch and Callie together and on their own go through the toughest season of their life and together grow in love and in faith. Seeing them mature as the book progresses was heartwarming and you couldn’t help but hope for happy ending.

Jordan Riley wrote a story where we’re reminded of Gods grace and how we a blessed to have a loving Heavenly Father that sees our hearts and will bless us with the opportunity for redemption. A reminder that we don’t have to be out past or mistakes. We can grow from them.

Thank you Jordan Riley for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for Heat Of The Moment.

I cannot believe I just wrote the words above me for the first time. Thank you Jordan for taking a chance on me it means the world.

Heat Of The Moment is a coming of age, faith filled, love story that showcases two teenagers Mitch and Callie. A perfect summer quick read for anyone who wants a good time with a light hearted yet gritty and touching book.

Mitch and Callie are so sweet. I love how the grow and mature through the book. I really love how they deeply communicate with each other.

I really enjoyed how the book fluctuates from the funny and cute moments to the emotional and touching ones. I love a well written found family and I have to say this book delivers just that. I also love how faith and God are a central aspect in the story.

But to me what really stood out in the book is how vulnerable and honest the story is. The characters imperfections the way they deal with their struggles makes us connect with them on a deeper level. This book showcases real life problems and how real people deal with them. The MMC and FMC are human they both make mistakes, they fight, they cry, they feel. And this is what took the cake for me in this story.

This book is about life changes. The big deep kind that changes everything. It is about growth. It is about grace. It is about true friendships and how the real ones stick around. But most of all this book showcases that we might not understand God's plan for our lives but He is in control, He is merciful and graceful and He makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him. (Romans 8.28)

Heat of the Moment pulled me in from the start and kept me turning pages late into the night.

What I appreciated most about this story was how it showed that one unexpected decision can completely change the direction of your life. Mitch and Callie are suddenly faced with a future neither of them planned for, and watching them navigate that reality felt genuine and heartfelt. Their journey wasn’t easy, but it never felt forced or unrealistic.

Mitch was easily my favorite part of the book. Time after time, Callie seemed prepared for him to walk away when things became complicated, but he never did. No matter what challenge came their way, he remained by her side. His loyalty, patience, and commitment spoke louder than any grand romantic gesture ever could. Seeing him continue to choose Callie, even when life became messy, made their relationship incredibly meaningful to me.

I also loved the lake-town summer setting and the close-knit friendships woven throughout the story. The supporting characters added so much warmth and made the world feel lived in and authentic.

The faith element was especially impactful. Rather than feeling preachy, it was naturally woven into the story and served as a reminder that God can bring purpose and hope even when circumstances don’t unfold the way we expected.

This book made me smile, made me emotional, and left me thinking long after I finished the last page. If you’re looking for a Christian romance that explores responsibility, commitment, and the kind of love that stays when things get hard, I highly recommend Heat of the Moment. ☀️🌊🍓

Arc Review ! Kind of Spoilers ??

🫐🧨🩷
The dynamic between a these friends is the first thing I noticed! They all have a bond that just steals your heart right away! Obviously the relationship between Callie and Mitch is so stand out! The best friends brother trope has always been one of my favorites and I love that this didn’t come with any drama or anything that the traditional stories have.

I loved how a multitude of different family dynamics were focused on here too! Callie had the storybook supportive parents while Mitch did everything possible to please his parents to no avail and you see how that doesn’t magically change later in their story either.

As a girl re-learning her faith, and growing her relationship with God, Christian romance books have been such an outlet for me. The same stories I love but with less of the things I don’t need. The lesson of the Grace of God was so good and so important. No matter what you do you are always worthy of Gods love. As a Christian you feel the need to be perfect and that mess ups are the end of the world but this book shows that you have to take responsibility for your actions and it doesn’t disqualify you from the love of God.

You see how this new responsibility changes everyone differently, especially in a small town. Mitch being so sure of his future with Callie and stepping up for her was so sweet. Watching those two continue to choose each other was so important because that’s usually where young parents can struggle and not enough books show that even though they struggle they still know that the end result belongs to them.

Heat of the Moment grabbed my attention from the very first page and never let go.

A group of friends has just graduated from high school and is spending one last summer together before life takes them in different directions. When two longtime friends—who have spent more than a year dancing around their feelings—finally decide to take a chance on love, one mistake changes everything and suddenly they're facing an unexpected pregnancy.

This story completely broke my heart. Watching Mitch and Callie navigate fear, disappointment, and impossible decisions had me in tears more than once. Their journey wasn't easy, but seeing them fight through the challenges, grow individually, and ultimately find their way back to their faith was both powerful and beautiful.

Mitch was an exceptional MMC. His struggles with his parents added so much depth to his character, and watching him mature throughout the story was incredibly rewarding. Callie wasn't a perfect heroine—and that's exactly what made her feel so real. She was flawed, vulnerable, and stronger than she believed herself to be.

Jordan Riley tackles a difficult and emotional topic with honesty, compassion, and grace. The characters make mistakes, face real consequences, and learn that redemption and hope are always possible. This coming-of-age, friends-to-lovers Christian romance is heartfelt, emotional, and full of authentic growth.

If you enjoy character-driven stories with imperfect but relatable characters, emotional depth, and a faith-filled message of hope and redemption, I highly recommend Heat of the Moment.

RELEASING ON JULY 2, 2026!!!

3.75/5 stars

This book is perfect for the summer, the lake vibes, the hot weather and Fourth of July. It just screams summer!

I really enjoyed this story and I think Jordan did an incredible job shedding light on a situation that young people can find themselves it. Getting pregnant at a young age, it not being planned and it being outside of marriage is scary. Jordan showed us how the two main characters navigated that life, trying their best to put God at the forefront. Even though it was hard. We got to see the real feelings that each went through, both with each other, their friendships and their families.

It felt real!

The only thing I thought was missing in this book was more of the main characters' growth in Christ. We see that they attended church prior to their relationship, but we don't see much else. Yes they prayed a couple times and their families attended church. But I was wishing for more of their walk with Christ, especially after we find out their pregnant. I wanted to see them navigate life more before they had Landon.

There were a couple typos, but nothing too bad. I do think the story flowed nicely, even with me wanting a little bit more of it all. I enjoyed the POV changes too!

Overall this was a wonderful story, I loved that this was my first book by Jordan! And I truly believe this story will help someone not feel alone.

Thank you Jordan for this ARC, I truly appreciate it and was incredibly happy to read it!

Heat of the Moment is a coming-of-age, friends-to-lovers' story that serves as a beautiful reminder that God's grace is greater than our mistakes.

The summer after high school graduation Callie and Mitch find themselves in new territory, figuring out their new relationship and the next steps after an accidental pregnancy. Living in a small town can be hard with everyone knowing everyone's business, but life becomes even harder when everyone puts their expectations and judgements onto you.

I absolutely adored the relationship between Callie and Mitch. It was sweet to see where their relationship began, how it matured with everything they went through over the course of the book, and their dynamics as parents. Their relationship felt real, complete with all of the challenges and joys actual couples face. I loved watching how they fit into the dynamics of their friend group and the love and encouragement they received from them in the midst of a chaotic season.

I truly admire how the author took a difficult subject matter and crafted a story with heart, characters who learned from and are living with the consequences of the mistakes they have made, and the visible grace of God that is woven into their journey. This book is absolutely for anyone who enjoys fade-to-black romance that features complex characters who are not defined by their mistakes but learn that these mistakes help them grow, not only as people but as believers, too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review – Heat of the Moment by Jordan Riley

Heat of the Moment is a heartfelt, emotional coming-of-age romance that explores the realities of young love, unexpected consequences, faith, and forgiveness.

Mitch and Callie’s journey felt incredibly authentic. Their transition from friends to something more was filled with the sweetness, tension, and uncertainty that comes with growing up and facing life-changing decisions. I appreciated that the story didn’t shy away from difficult topics but approached them with grace, compassion, and a strong Christian worldview.

The small-town setting added so much warmth and nostalgia, while the lake house memories and summer atmosphere made the story feel bittersweet and immersive. The faith elements were woven naturally into the plot, highlighting God’s grace without feeling preachy.

If you enjoy:
🤍 Friends-to-lovers
🤍 Best friend’s brother
🤍 Small-town romance
🤍 Christian fiction
🤍 Coming-of-age stories
🤍 Emotional, character-driven reads
🤍 Fade-to-black romance

then Heat of the Moment is definitely worth adding to your TBR.

This story is a reminder that mistakes don’t define us, grace changes everything, and love can endure even when life takes an unexpected turn.

This book immediately drew me in with the nostalgia of those years before life's responsibilities really begin—when your biggest concern is figuring out what you and your friends are doing that night. It perfectly captures that fleeting time between adolescence and adulthood, making it impossible not to reflect on your own memories.

What I loved most was Mitch and Callie. Their relationship felt genuine, mature, and deeply connected. While everyone around them was still carefree and focused on themselves, Mitch and Callie were forced to grow up much faster than their peers. Despite the challenges they faced, their love never felt performative or influenced by what others expected of them. They built a relationship that worked for them, staying true to each other rather than bending to outside opinions.

Their connection was one of the strongest parts of the story. The way they supported one another through life's challenges was both heartwarming and inspiring. I found myself completely invested in their journey and rooting for them every step of the way.

This story was equal parts nostalgic, emotional, and beautifully written. It reminded me that growing up doesn't always happen on the same timeline for everyone, and that sometimes the strongest relationships are the ones built on understanding, trust, and choosing each other every day. I absolutely loved this book and won't be forgetting Mitch and Callie anytime soon.

First of all, thank you so much, Jordan, for trusting me with an ARC of this book! 🥹🤎 I was so excited to get the chance to read it before release!

This was such a cute summer read!! ☀️🌊 Think small-town, friends-to-lovers, first love, lake days, and a beautiful reminder that God’s grace is bigger than our mistakes.

Mitch absolutely stole my heart. He was so patient, steady, and just wanted to love and care for Callie. I also really loved the message of grace throughout the story and how God doesn’t stop loving us when we mess up.

My only complaint is honestly… I just wanted MORE. 😂 Give me another 100 pages!!

I would’ve loved to spend more time watching Mitch and Callie grow! not just together, but individually and in their relationship with Christ. I also would’ve loved more of the pregnancy journey, seeing them process everything, and diving a little deeper into the family dynamics.

I especially connected with Mitch and Macy’s relationship with their mom. That storyline felt so real to me, and I would’ve loved to see even more healing and growth there. Which I hope to see in Macy’s book!

Overall, this was such a sweet, summer story that left me smiling and remembering that God’s love is always there even after we make mistakes. 🤍 If you’re looking for a wholesome Christian romance with real, flawed characters definitely add this one to your summer TBR! ☀️📚

My thoughts:
Yet another phenomenal book by Jordan! I couldn’t put it down and loved every moment of it!
Jordan took a hard topic and situation that people tend to look down on, and wrote it with grace, love, and light.
I was very excited when I heard what the theme of this book was and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
I knew I’d love Mitch and Callie and their story from page one. Everything about this book was amazing. The vibes were perfect.
I loved the lesson about God’s grace and how even when we mess up, we are still worthy of Him.
I loved how they both tried to do the right thing, even after they made a mistake. The way Mitch honored, loved, and provided for Callie and Landon was so sweet.
I loved all the side characters and can’t wait for their stories and to see them grow and mature more.
I didn’t relate to Callie very much but my heart still hurt for her and Mitch and what they were going through.
I related a lot to Mitch and Macy though and can’t wait for her book.
I’d 100% recommend this book and all Jordan’s other books!

Tropes:

A best friends to more, grace in our mistakes romance that I absolutely loved and will definitely be reading more by Jordan soon. The grace given through our mistakes is what more people need to see of Christians and I’m glad to see Jordan didn’t shy from it.

The characters and story development was well done and I fell in love with both Mitch and Callie.

Callie and Mitch have grown up together along with four others, making up their six person friend group. We begin the story the day after they have all just graduated high school and they are back at the cabin on the lake they grew up going to together.

Callie hasn’t dated since her sophomore year and doesn’t have plans to leave town. She is set on being a nanny to her two cousins. She has a wonderful family that she often feels she can’t live up to, especially with an older sister who seems to do everything right.

Mitch is a twin to Macy, another person in their friend group. He has started a landscaping business with another in their group, Luke, and plans to stay in their small town as well to grow the business. He has loved Callie for years but was hesitant to move on those feelings in case it didn’t work out. He didn’t want the group to suffer.

I like how this book connects with the younger generation to show that you can come from a different background and still end up as a Christian. I just wanted to wrap my arms around Callie and tell her that everything is going to be okay. It made me smile that she went to prayer with everything she was going through. Sometimes we just have to say, "Lord, help me," with whatever you're going through at that moment. Girl, the part where Callie’s dress was sticking to her because of the heat was so relatable, especially to me because I live in the South. Wrenley is a girl’s girl and the perfect mother figure for Callie. If y’all could only see how I was cheering on Mitch’s mom when she took Mitch’s cigarettes and told him not to smoke them around her or in her house. This book reminded me of the saying my mom used to say: "Trouble doesn’t last always." I love that Callie felt God’s presence throughout her pregnancy. There were moments when I couldn’t do anything but smile. Reading their argument toward the end of the book was like me picturing my head turning left to right every time someone said something. I love how Mitch appreciates and admires Callie’s body, even after she had a baby. The double point of view of Callie and Mitch in the epilogue was the perfect ending.

ARC REVIEW!!!! 🥰 I am so happy that I got to be apart of the early reading! I read the first chapter Jordan posted and was left wanting more. I have loved every one of the books she has published and I love how they are all connected in some way shape or form. Jordan has a way of drawing you in and connecting with the characters. She makes you feel like you’re sitting right there with them and going through all the emotions. ❤️ It’s nice having that connection and envisioning the story as you read.

Heat of the Moment - I love Callie and Mitch, like all of her books faith plays a big part in their lives and decisions and that hits home now more than ever. After having my son 10 months ago I could really connect with Callie and in her moments of motherhood, late nights, feeling alone at times, and everything piling up with the house. I love the village that Callie and Mitch had their support system was amazing and never letting things get in between their friend group is amazing their lake trips were my favorite parts really transports you back to your teenage years! 1000/10 ⭐️ ⭐️ Can’t wait to see what Jordan has up her sleeve next! ❤️

I have said time and time again that the thing that I really enjoy most about Jordan Riley's books is that these characters truly feel real... like I truly feel like these could be people I know from my own hometown. Their faith is important to them, yes, but their walks are imperfect and they sometimes fall short. I think we definitely see that in Mitch and Callie's story as they find themselves fresh out of high school, unmarried with a baby on the way. That might not be something we see a lot of in Christian fiction, but it IS a reality that many young Christians DO face, and what I loved about Mitch and Callie's story is that it doesn't glorify the sin but instead reminds us that God's grace is big enough for it all. Their friends to love romance was sweet and brought all the small-town summer vibes. If you're looking for a Christian romance with grit, grace and growth, this is one to check out.

Heat of the Moment is a Christian romance with fade to black and minor language.

*review of an ARC COPY given by author*

(Minimal spoilers in review)

This book was genuinely so sweet and enjoyable to read. I wasn’t expecting to love such a country read😂! I really enjoyed the characters, Mitch and Callie were so great together and you can really see their love!!

I really loved the middle section of the book (roughly chapters 10-23) I was super locked in because of the high stakes, and I think Riley’s writing was best shown off in this section!

I did find the progression from her being pregnant to the baby being born quite jolting though, and wished that there was maybe some more time that we see Callie pregnant.

But I found the section where we see Mitch and Callie’s relationship after the baby is born to be very very sweet. I thought the author was very creative in how she made it work out for them to live near each other.

The ending was cute but also very predictable 😂

Was a very sweet and wholesome story, I’m very happy to have been given the opportunity to read an ARC copy!!!! Thanks Jordan Riley🫶🏻

I got the amazing opportunity to read this book as an ARC! Thank you to Jordan Riley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.
This book follows Callie and Mitch as they go through the challenges of an unexpected pregnancy in their small-town as they go from friends to much more. I was locked in from the first chapter, I saw a lot of my own personal experiences and those of people around me in this story and these characters.
My favorite aspects were the character development and the real relationships that it showed. Not all relationships are perfect, it showed how that is normal and how to get through that.
While I enjoyed it, there was a kinda big portion of the story that I feel was missing. All though, the rest of the book made up for that in the end.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys summer nostalgia, small-town romances, friends-to-lovers, Christian themes, and choosing the person you love over everything else. I gave this book 4.75/5 stars and I am looking forward to reading more from Jordan Riley.

MY FIRST EVER ARC!!! Thank you so much to the author for this opportunity :)))

I literally abandoned everything I was doing and read this in one sitting!!!

This story was so well written and such a fun easy read, but it also left an impact and proved how even if things don’t go how you may have pictured, God has a bigger plan.

I fell in love with Mitch and Callie and their friend group so quickly- their stories were authentic and real which made me love them even more.

The setting instantly transported me into a small town nostalgic summer and I already miss it.

ALSO the music and movie/ show references in this book were top tier! The playlist is such a vibe and I’m definitely going to remember the great time I had reading this book when I listen to them!

Overall this book highly exceeded my expectations and I loved it even more than I thought I would!!!

I love how this book is filled with so much depth! Jordan has yet again written a book that covers a hard topic and filled it with love, forgiveness, and most importantly so much grace that is not earned, but freely given!

I really enjoyed getting to see all of the different personalities throughout this book between the new friends we got to meet (which I am so excited to see more of in the Seasons Of Love series), and getting a glimpse of Mitch’s childhood through reading about his family. I appreciate how Jordan brings awareness to different family dynamics in her writing to help her readers understand the main characters better. It also helps the readers feel more relatable to the characters which is really nice.

Also, I was so happy to see how our old favorite characters are doing! I love the update on Wrenley and Kayce, and Josie!

Absolutely can’t wait to read more!

I had the absolute honor of being an ARC reader for Heat of the Moment!!

I cannot express how much I love this book because I felt it so deep in my soul. Jordan Riley always writes books that have gritty storylines and this one was handled beautifully (as usual). Callie and Mitch’s relationship is amazing. The way they take care of one another, the way they encourage one another, and the way they handle such a tough situation. Not only does this book bring so much summer nostalgia, it also brought healing. I have a similar story to Callie, being a Christian and getting pregnant out of wedlock. This will be my first summer and 4th of July with my daughter and this book got me so ecstatic! On top of the fact that I felt Callie’s story on a personal level, I also felt Maddie’s story on a personal level, so I’m really excited for when that story gets written!! This story of God’s grace was written beautifully and I know God will use it to reach so many more people who need to hear it.

such a precious story about how God doesn’t waste anything! Despite the main characters making a choice out of sin, the readers see how He uses it for His glory.
I loved how Mitch was with Callie and Landon. The scene where Callie is talking to Mitch about how his parents treat her and he lets her know that he sees it and her is really beautiful because not everyone is emotionally mature enough to have that reaction.

On another note, I absolutely loved the friend group. I even wish we got to see more of them, like Macy and Callie’s friendship, and how that evolved once Landon was born. But the guys were SO funny and goofy and this book gave me a lot of nostalgia (in a good way) and was just overall a good time. And it was very atmospheric with the lake!! I’m excited to see more of these friends in future books and I cannot wait for Brad’s book (he’s hilarious)!!! A perfect read for the Fourth of July, my favorite holiday.

Heat of the Moment was such a beautiful, emotional read. It’s raw, real, and so easy to get lost in. I couldn’t put it down!

This story follows Mitch and Callie whose lives are turned upside down after an unexpected pregnancy. The way they navigate love and responsibility was handled with so much honesty and heart. I found myself tearing up and highlighting so many meaningful moments throughout their journey. 🥹

I especially loved the strong theme of faith woven throughout the story. It was such a powerful reminder of grace, growth, and trusting God’s timing through life’s unexpected circumstances.

I also really enjoyed seeing familiar characters from other series make appearance. It added such a fun and connected feeling to the story.

Highly recommend picking up Heat of the Moment when it releases on July 2nd!

ARC Review, contains some spoilers.

This book was really sweet, and the perfect book if you want a quick read for the 4th of July weekend!
I loved Mitch and Callie. Mitch was such a good guy in this book, such a great example of support and genuine love for Callie. The story progressed quickly but flowed well all the way through their weekend at the lake the fair, and Mitch and Callie's growing relationship, all the way up until chapter 23.
I was really enjoying the book, and Chapter 23 gave me total whiplash and it was difficult for me to feel immersed into the story again after such a dramatic and intense time shift. It felt as if we were just dropped into "the after* of everything, whereas I personally really wanted to see more of the in between. Mixed reviews for me, still enjoyed it, can definitely recommend though!

I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to ARC read this book. It was beautiful and real. The characters were relatable, and everybody was different.
I love how this book isn't all the pregnancy, but also balanced with the aftermath. Raising a baby while unmarried and not living together. Handling the ups and downs together.
The author intertwined God and faith into this book so seamlessly. I highlighted many quotes and cried my heart out.
It was a journey, but one I was glad to bea partt of. ❤️
P.s let me just give some praise to Mitch. I love him. He was the most realistic, perfect man, and never left Callie. He was supportive and loving throughout all of it, and that's all we want.

ARC Review!

I loved the entire atmosphere of this book. As a new mama it hit close to home watching our main character struggle with the newborn phase and trying to make sure she is doing everything right! I loved how real the characters felt. Underlying the entire story with a biblical theme but also still incorporating sin in a way that felt human was so well done! If you are looking for a fade-to-black summer nostalgia romance that has biblical themes while still being realistic about our humanity, Jordan Riley is your girl!

P.S. I love how she connects all of her past characters in with her new books it make me feel so happy when I can connect back to past characters through our new characters lens!

This book melted my heart especially when Mitch stepped up immediately to be a dad so young. I thought that she put a lot of depth into the characters and their story line. I really thought this in chapter 21 Mitch wanted a stable, loving home, with both parents, because he didn’t want his family to be like his, and his family story was very emotional and very in depth of how a family can be.

Callie is such a sweet girl who is trying to rearrange her life and I love how she has lots of emotions about what is happening. Like in one chapter she had three different emotions because everything is changing quickly and she has to plan her life early.

This book was a 5⭐️ for me and I hope more people enjoy this like I did.
