What hooked me from the start was Jason’s injuries, wondering what was really going on, and Jemma needing to keep him safe had me feeling like there was a lot at stake. I also enjoyed the athlete with a team doctor heroine trope. While there was that wonderful line-crossing tension with the romance, there were also ramifications for their future and the team.
The late-night rehab sessions and the build of their relationship were swoony and didn’t feel rushed. Plus, when the whole internal sabotage plot became active, it was more than just them clicking; it was thrilling. If you enjoy sports romance filled with secrets, danger, and passion, give this one a read.
