Abandoned as an infant on the stairs of a church, she has not had an easy life. Outcast. Ostracized. The strange child has grown in to a beautiful, young woman, only to find herself abandoned and alone again. Strange urges compel her to wait…but for what?
Warning: Due to explicit sexual content, this short story is only suitable for readers 18+; its contents include love and hot sex between two very sexy paranormal creatures.
I'm a proud Canadian in my mid 40's, and happily married mother of four.
I consider myself more of a storyteller than an author or writer. I love to delve into history; to drudge up tales of the mythological and paranormal, using them to create dark, erotic stories.
In 2014, as a personal challenge to myself, I started writing. And surprisingly, I discovered I was good at it. Before then, I hadn't written anything more in-depth than a grocery list. I still don't know what I am doing here (writing books), but what the heck!
Warning: I have a wicked (but not always appropriate) sense of humor.
Wow! Although this is a short story, only 18 pages, it was surprisingly erotic and intense. I would love if the author would continue this story with these characters. A demon searching for redemption and the woman who doesn't know her own past. It's not a conventional story but it's one that I would love to read more of.
A newborn babe is abandoned on the steps of a church in the pouring rain. The village priest vows to raise her despite rumblings from the locals who deem the child a bad omen.
When it is later discovered that she is mute, several proclaim that this is a punishment from God. And though she grows up to be a beauty, lives a Christian life, and becomes their best healer, there are still those who feel she is "ungodly" and speculate that her mother must have been a witch.
There is a certain irony in all of this that is later revealed.
When circumstances arise that leave her to fend for herself, all alone in the now empty village, she waits, though she does not know why. She only knows that she must.
When the reason arrives, we sense that the answers are coming...
"I have searched the world for you.
Do you remember me?"

I enjoyed this short story which, in many ways, is well written, highly erotic and left just enough mystery to keep me intrigued. The fact that the main character, Ayleth, cannot speak raised some interesting questions along the way.
I would have liked to have known more from her perspective when
Some scenes and aspects of this tale were quite vivid and detailed while others, though informative, were handled a bit more abruptly. There is also a slight bit of head-hopping in some scenes, though Ayleth's perspective is definitely the more prevalent. Still, it didn't overly interrupt the flow and gave me some insight into Letholdus' perspective.
I enjoyed the dynamics between these two characters and the way their intimacy was used to reconnect, heal and reveal needed aspects within the story. There is beauty in the symbolism of Ayleth's .
This tale definitely has the bones to be a much longer, more fleshed out book, as there are still a number of questions to be answered but it's a fascinating taste all the same and I would definitely read more from this author.

This is exactly my kind of read. I knew I was in for a treat when I read the synopsis. This particularly short read is dark, intense and erotic. This author knows how to captivate a reader. I was left craving for more to read about the demon and his lost love.

This copy was provided by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I started the book knowing that it was a short story just did not realize how short it was. I did like the interaction between the characters of the back. It could flow just a little better it was almost reading broken thoughts for the story.
Would like to see the story developed into a full novel.
