Following the pivotal battle at Pike’s Peak, Cadence and the Fighting Tigers work around the clock to rebuild their camp, strengthen security, and find a balance between living and merely surviving.

The virus that destroyed civilization, turning most of the human population into zombies, continues to mutate, and its threat is greater now than during the global Scourge. This, intensified by dissent among the ranks and a new vampire menace, tears at the fabric of existence and the fragile peace the survivors have worked to secure.

Help from the Dark Angels and the Cheyenne Mountain Wolf Tribe may not be enough to suppress the Kaiser’s plans for Cadence and her camp. She soon discovers her greatest enemies are the ones she has trusted to help her survive . . .

I really liked the first book in this series, Morbid Hearts. But I actually LOVED this book more and read it from cover to cover in two days. Compelling story, developed characters, twists and turns in the many plots. The vampires have run into the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs they're demons at fighting. The story is suspenseful, action packed, and will keep you guessing in a good way.

Never ending excitement

I read book 1 of the series a few years ago and the story was so memorable that I was able to jump right into book 2 and connect the characters. There is a constant level of excitement and suspense as the fight goes on to secure the area from the spread of the Zombie apocalypse and now there are several other species to deal with.
I like the quirky personalities of the characters and the writing is excellent with a free flow.
