When Frenchman Baru Masort sits down on a Paris city bench next to a distraught but beautiful woman, he’s too overcome with desire to realize that she might just be the ticket to America he’s been dreaming of. After only one night of explosive love-making, Baru and American Tamika White decide to throw caution to the wind and get married so that Baru can return with his new lady to her home in the Bronx.
But love at first sight soon turns to jealousy, drunkenness, and suspicion on the other side of the pond. Alone in a strange country, Baru turns to internet dating sites to satiate the sexual and emotional appetites Tamika once fed. When he meets Kaliyah Summers, their attraction builds until it borders on an obsession that threatens to turn Baru into the kind of man he never thought he’d become.
Full of sex, desire, and jealousy, Sandbox is the story of one man’s desire to live and love unfettered in New York City—and how that desire threatens to ruin both him and the women he loves. CreateSpace
I absolutely loved this book. It was so entertaining and exciting. This is the type of story that is good for a soap opera with all the drama. So many times I pictured how good it would be if I was actually watching it unfold myself like it was Young and the Restless or something like that. You also get comedy. I found myself laughing many times at Baru Masort's blunders and mishaps not just with the women he encounters, but his overall life experiences as well. Along with that you get steamy sex scenes. If you love erotica, you will also love this book. Such detailed descriptions make you feel like you are in the middle of it and definitely passionate. I was quite impressed with that. The supporting characters in this book are unique and carry the story along in the right direction. Kim Pemberton is a great up and coming author with a great vision, creativity and a flare for storytelling. I have highly recommended this book to many other people and am such a fan of her work. A great job on this book and I hope to see her come out with future books as well.
This was the best book I'd read. I love drama and suspense. I met with Kim Pemberton at the book signing event in Los Angeles. It was great to meet her. I asked her why she wrote Sandbox and who made the cover? She told me she was in a terrible relationship years ago when her ex abused and threatening her. She got the passion in writing and I hope to read more of her books.
