"Rax keeps it real." –Kirkus Reviews

Single mom Danielle Frazier is no stranger to drama, but nothing could have prepared her for her ex's family reunion--or the sexy dude playing DJ. Handsome and cut, Scottie Meadows gives off just the kind of dangerous vibe Dani can't resist--and he's not shy about feeling her either. There's just one problem: Scottie's brother, Neil, is Dani's ex and baby daddy. And Scottie happens to be living in the man's house. But that's not going to stop Danielle. . .

When Dani and Scottie start seeing each other their connection is electric--and everyone feels the heat. Soon Dani is driving a wedge between Neil and his wife--again. And she's coming between two brothers who have only one thing in common: their love for her. But Neil made his choice. Now it's Dani's turn to get chosen. She's always wanted to be Mrs. Meadows, and this time no jealousy, betrayal--or temptation--will stand in her way. . .

Basically I became interested in becoming a writer after reading Terry McMillan’s novel Disappearing Acts. In 2004 my author dreams were realized via the release of my controversial debut novel My Daughter’s Boyfriend, the story of a 34-year old single mother that becomes attracted to her teenage daughter’s boyfriend.

I love writing about marriage, infidelity, juicy love triangles, family, romance, women's issues, and male/female relationships. It never gets boring to write about what human beings go through.

My novels make you think and feel! If it doesn't do that, I haven't done my job.

My novels/interviews have been featured in USA Today, Black Beat Magazine, Publishers Weekly, Jewel Magazine, Today's Black Woman, Vibe Vixen, Quarterly Black Review, Booking Matters Magazine, Essence magazine, Ebony magazine, Black Expressions Book Club, among others.

Stress!
Dani and Neil continue to have so little moral an ant would think it was small.
And to be frank, I just can not make myself read about characters that leave alley cats looking sophisticated.

This book was fucked up. Black people have way to much drama in their lives if the book is anywhere close to their real lives. Too much swearing, cheating and every other damn thing. This author must be smoking crack. Her books sounded a bit out there, so I figured I'd give them a try but shoot, I want that hour of my life back. The book was pathetic and the author obviously has morals of an alley cat if she is putting any "personality" into her books. Also the whole marriage thing about being miserable, that's a lie. I've had my quota of retarded authors this year, this one takes the cake. Please give up writing now.

Ms. Rax's latest work is smart, well conceived, and definitely filled with drama, drama, drama . . . and more drama. There are a couple of characters that should have their heads checked out. I'm sure other readers will agree.

As the sequel to “My husband’s girlfriend”, this novel acts as the perfect follow up to a very interesting scenario. The story of Anya, Neil, and Mistress Dani continues, also introducing some new and intriguing characters on the scene. Scottie Meadows and Lanecia being “kissing cousins” bring new twists, turns, and view points to consider. Many of the plots left me on the edge of my seat wondering how the situations would remedy themselves. Some of the traits of the characters are disturbingly real, and will give you chills. Overall, I felt the book was a page tuner that will definitely leave you cheering for Cydney to write yet another installment. I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating!!!

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave . . ."

And Cydney Rax is a weaver of the first degree! Lawd, when I looked at Dani and Scotty, and Anya and Neil, and ... oh, I dare not leave out the ever-scheming LaNesha, I am damned near dizzy with the sex, lies, backstepping, contempt, craziness, and all of the associated pain and confusion. But it is the endless and constant lines of love and lust trailing through the story that forced me to not only keep reading, but will draw me into the other stories of this heated series.

This is a jaw-dropping read that will keep you turning pages and shaking your head. Good job, Cydney.

⭐️⭐️

Spoiler. Be warned

I just had to read the follow up book to My Husbands Girlfriend. 🤦‍♀️ anyway reading this it made me wonder what the heck is happening. Did the H from first book still love his old mistress that is now dating his brother? WTH. I was so confused. And why in the heck is she invited to a family reunion when she could have just sent the toddler with the dad. UGH. I hope there is another book where these fake humans in this story get their karma and the good people , Anya, get an HEA and the scum get their just deserts.

In this book Neil gets the ultimate pay back for cheating on his wife. His baby momma marries his brother! Of course there are plenty other twists and turns in this story and I'm glad to see that Dani is finally worried about her own man and not Anya's. I absolutly loved this book.

Worst than part 1 My Husband’s Girlfriend. Me being me just can’t dnf a series so I had to suffer through this book . Neil & Dani never learn any lessons so there is no redemption for their characters. This book made me roll my eyes so hard every other page . I’m really considering never picking up a book by this author again

Not thrilled

The only character I liked was Anya. I liked her wisdom. I would never invite a woman to sleep with my husband.

This is a tale about brothers Neil and Scottie and the woman between them. Dani was Neil's mistress when Anya gave him permission to have one while she experienced a low sex drive due to health issues. Problem is, their affair results in a child being born. Scottie meats Dani at the Meadows family reunion and they are instantly attracted to one another. Scottie previously carried on an incestuous relationship with his off kilter younger cousin LaNecia. She is obsessed with him but oddly no one seems to overly concerned that they had the affair nor her obsession! Even Dani doesn't really seem fazed. Bottom line is that Dani really takes up with Scottie because she can't have Neil and almost everybody know it in their gut despite what they say or do contrary to that fact. This is a sequel to My Husband's Girlfriend.

Dani and Neil still had a little crush on each other and they was so close into having sex with one another. On thanksgiving Scottie had surprise Dani, he paid for her family to vistit on that day and he had propose to her. She hestitated and he stromed out. His cousin Lenecia is so obessed with him she will do anything to win him over and break up there relationship. On valentines day Scottie and Dani they got marry and everything was prefect. Leneica tried to set Neil and Dani up by her taking his cell and texting Dani and telling her to met him at a hotel where they did met up but nothing happen. The book was a good read and the end of the book taught them all a lesson.

What I learned from this book is I am glad I have a happy marriage where I know I can trust my husband. In the book you really didn't know for sure what was going to happen but a few things were out of the norm for me. I did like that fact that it did keep you interested and you really didn't know how things were going to turn out but I cannot image living my life like the people in this book do. Not having trust in a relationship has got to be very hard just living day to day always with the thought that maybe the person you are with is wishing to be with someone else. I did enjoy the book and am greatful my life is not that complicated.

Brothers and Wives is the continuing story from My Husband's Girlfriend, though it can be read as a stand-alone novel. Homewrecker Dani has now fallen for her former married lover's brother, Scottie. Lest you think Scottie is masochist, he too has his own drama in the form of a stalkerish kissing cousin.

I've had Brothers and Wives for a minute. While this was occasionally humorous and makes you think hard about marriage, it was just too much at times. Don't get me wrong; I like a provocative story. Yet despite all the drama found within its pages, Rax doesn't make me care about the characters, and the ending was anti-climatic for all the hell these folks raised.

It was ok, but I was still stuck on the fact that 2 cousins had been in a relationship and the one still wanted to be.....I also wasn't feeling the fact that Dani and Neil were still making flirty comments towards each other....oh and when Scotty was in jail for that short stint, so not cool that Dani is so hot to have sex that she was going to lay down with Neil yet again. All in all, it was an easy read.

Wasn't my genre

The book was ok but it isn't the genre I am reading currently. I don't like being told how many words used need to write.
