I loved this so much! Living in London it was so interesting to read about the behind the scenes of being a young female chef in London restaurants. The writing was excellent, lots of sharp details and it felt very real and raw in terms of the chef's emotional journey(s). Also loved all the descriptions of food and eating. 5 ⭐️
This was advertised as a cross between Anthony Bourdain and Lena Dunham- in my eyes not slutty enough but still a certain level of cringe pretentiousness and odd, somewhat gross comparisons between sex and cooking. Slightly enjoyable!
Made me so hungry and desperate to be back smelling the restaurants of Soho. Witty, sharp, fun and poignant. A fresh take on restaurant culture and the impulses of pleasure. Tart is sultry and stimulating. Peppered with romance, fear and adrenaline. I’m hungry for more.
