This is not an easy book to read if you don't understand spiritual warfare, but it is very informative. It is true that there is an enemy out there, but he can be disguised as anyone. His tricks are many and often subtle. I liked when the author talked about the enemy invading your mind. How many of us have believed that we are sick, unloved, or just ready to give up? See how easy it is for the enemy to take our thoughts captive and make you think things that are not true.
The author gives lots of examples like tarot cards etc which can be deceiving to us. We need to be prayerful and be guided by the Holy Spirit to remove obstacles that are not of God. It is a very in-depth book that helps readers be more aware of the enemy and be on guard for the attack . The book is filled with scriptures that are powerful tools to speak over your life. As an army prepares for battle they get information that will help them win. We need to do the same thing against the enemy. The book gives us many examples of how the enemy will sneak in and try to destroy you. What can we do to win? The easy answer is prayer and making good decisions. Thank you for sharing your story and giving us useful tools to fight off the enemy.

Having researched for nearly 20 years particular items concerning the dark side and satanic worship and interviewed several people who were once satanists, this book by John Ramirez is above and beyond the information anyone would need in order to be free from any demonic attack. Even if you're a Spirit-filled Christian who's having problems with fighting against the spirits that come to boggle your mind and being fear to your heart, you'll be free in no time if you faithfully use the strategies and other insightful information Evangelist Ramirez shares in his sophomore work. Having over 1-million views on YouTube is for many, convincing enough that John knows what he's talking about and that he knows how to defeat any devil by the Word of God and the cross of Christ Jesus. Take notes or highlight the parts of this book that speak to you personally. This is one of those books that you can't help but bring up in conversation. People the world over need to know what available in this easy-to-read book about the victory we have in the Kingdom of God on Earth.

Superb advice from a former devil worshiper. The self deliverance prayer shared in the book is powerful and insightful. Very well done!

“The number one key we need to establish in spiritual warfare is the fear of the Lord. ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.’ (Prov. 9:10 NIV)”…”The fear of the Lord means to reverence Him, to be in awe of who He is.” (pages 78 and 79).
The author of ‘Unmasking the Devil’ is a man who worked for satan for many years, trained to be the third high priest in New York City. He is also now a man saved by the grace and mercy of the One who has all power over sin, satan, and death – Jesus Christ. Few people at the level he ‘attained’ in devil worship are willing to leave that life behind to be a servant of the Lord. Fewer still would be the people who would write an expose of how anyone, including Christians, can unknowingly be ensnared by the devil and how to avoid those traps or be set free from them.
Evangelist Ramirez has shared powerful truths in this guidebook. He writes of many varied ways that one is led away from putting Jesus first (if one already is a believer) or tries out some of the seemingly innocent paths to follow the ways of the devil. There are a few he writes about that I was unaware of, and several that I had been aware of. More than that, the author writes about how to avoid, get out of, or help others out of the grip of satan. He uses supporting scriptures and shares several important prayers and other information that can aid us in our walk with the Lord. One thing he writes about when he was a satan worshipper that shows how prayers of the faithful are answered, as he would go through various neighborhoods and hurl down curses and insults: “...in some neighborhoods I met with strong resistance and at first couldn’t understand where the opposing power came from…Finally I realized these were the nasty Christians praying for their neighborhoods…Wherever praying Christians lived, I couldn’t penetrate the neighborhood.”
The author writes that spiritual warfare is the most critical practice we need to understand and actively participate in. There were times that I could not digest more than a few pages at one time. Understand where the Lord is calling you. Along with one’s Bible and favorite devotional or Bible study books, I believe this should be handy to use, and to study the scriptures referenced in it. Re-read it, perhaps keep a second copy to give to someone who truly needs it. Remember that “The greatest title in the Kingdom is Servant. It’s time to pick up the towel, wrap it around our waist, and get to the battlefield.” (pg. 119) I highly recommend ‘Unmasking the Devil’ for those who want to avoid the pitfalls of satan, who want to help our home, churches, and neighborhoods be released from the bondages of these pitfalls.

This is a book every Christian needs to read. It cuts to the heart and doesn’t let go. This is an eye-opener for many of us who want to live with our eyes closed to the work of our enemy.
A few quotes that hopefully will entice you to read more are from page 28: “You need to come to see that your purpose and destiny are also lined up with the region and the season you are in.”
Woah, if we really think about that doesn’t that change our perspective and see the challenges we are facing as possible attacks from the enemy who doesn’t want to see us fulfill God’s purpose in our life?
Another from page 37: “The tools that the devil uses most often are temptation and deception. Temptation is to make you want to quit and give up on God, and deception is to make you believe that you’re never going to come out of your circumstances.”
How true is that? I have been there many times playing with temptation and then giving into deception.
Overall, a very valuable book that I think every Christian should get their hands on.

Ramirez wants us to understand the role of Satan in the world. He knows whereof he writes as he was the third highest ranked priest in a Satanic cult in New York City before he had a miraculous encounter with Jesus. He told his story in Out of the Devil's Cauldron.
He's been in the enemy's camp. He knows how to combat the enemy's tactics. He writes about the ways the devil tries to invade our lives, the reality of spiritual warfare, and what it means to really be a soldier of the cross.
The primary avenue of attack is the mind. The devil knows that if he can capture that he has a stronghold. He will then go after the will and emotions. Ramirez reveals the devil's strategies and doorways we are to stay away from. Temptation and deception are the devil's favorite tools. We need to know who we are in Christ and be firm in that identity, not allowing Satan to steal it.
I was surprised at this insight: The number one tactic the devil uses to create strongholds is to convince one that their sin is under control – they could quit any time.
Ramirez writes that it is important to be able to distinguish the voice of God and the voice of the devil and he helps us do that. He also identifies spirits that are deployed to bring down ministries.
He encourages us to engage in spiritual warfare but also urges caution. “For we believers to win the war, we must discern the battle before we engage.” (59) “It is important for us to pray and hear from God before we make any moves, anywhere.” (28)
Ramirez has included practical suggestions and techniques for spiritual warfare. He has many prayers that readers can use in the warfare, including those for obtaining one's own spiritual freedom.

This was a very interesting book. The author gives us a first hand account of how Satan worshippers melt into society and try and take root in humanity. It is a very scary outlook for those who don't give themselves to God. He gives us the tools to resist Satan and his followers. The only thing I can say negative about the book is that I wish he had more information on these strategies.
The author helps us understand the difference between God speaking to us and Satan trying to speak to us. He gives us some tools and we must learn from them and always make God number one!
I did enjoy finding out how he became the spiritual soldier for God. I will have to read his first book,
"Out of the Devil's Cauldron".

"Unmasking the Devil" by author John Ramirez is a 176 page paperback book. This book on spiritual warfare is published by Destiny Image. It is an interesting, informative, frightening book written by a former Satanic priest. Actually the author states he was the third highest ranked priest in a Satanic cult in New York City before he miraculously found Jesus. Author Ramirez grew up in the Broncs and humbly says that he is not an educated man and his words are not always politically correct. Sometimes the wording in this book is a little rough and might offend some. Even overlooking that it is a well written, captivating book.
This unique book is a first hand look into the dark world of Satanism from a former member, now born again Christian. The author explains that since we are in a battle, spiritual warfare, we need to have knowledge of our enemy and his tactics. We need to know how to defend ourselves. He warns us that Satan worshippers are everywhere, and they blend right into society and everyday life. They could be in your workplace, neighborhood, or school. Their goal is to get firmly planted and infiltrated into humanity. They want to take over.
The author knows how the enemy attacks us and how we can retaliate. He has worked for Satan and knows intimately what to do. He states the battle is real and Satan does try to take over our lives. Satan is a deceiver and liar. He attacks the mind first by strongly trying to convince people that their sin is not that bad - something they can stop if they ever wanted to quit doing it. It is not a big deal according to Satan. After Satan gets in someone's mind he has his foot in the door. Then he works on their emotions and their will. He uses lies, deceit, deception, and temptation. He tools are music, movies, television, the entertainment industry, our greed, bad & unhealthy relationships, and false religions to get into our minds and lives. His minions go into our own churches to cause disruptions, disharmony and upheaval.
In order for us to stand up in this battle we must be equipped. First and foremost we must make God number one in our life. We must pray diligently. We must read God's Word. We must call upon God and ask others to pray for us. It is imperative to listen to God's voice and not that of the deceiver. The author provides tips to assist in discerning the difference. God's voice directs us to victory while Satan’s voice shows us the way to destruction.
I would recommend this book to any Christian. I would not recommend reading it right before going to bed. It is packed with some pretty heavy stuff. Unmasking the Devil, by John Ramirez is a spiritual warfare manual every follower of Christ should read. Written by a man who was steeped in devil worship for a number of years and miraculously made a new creation in Christ, the book is a treatise on the whys and how-tos of defeating the devil's work in one's personal life, in the community, and in the church. Readers are reminded of the cunningness of Satan as he makes footholds into the minds and lives of humans, who are made in the image of God and thus hated by Satan and his minions. Ramirez calls believers to be the victorious Christians God intended them to be..."to fight back spiritually and engage the hosts of hell". And the destruction of these strongholds begins with the fear of the Lord. One chapter includes a discussion on the Armor of Go and 12 weapons that Christians have to destroy the gates of Hell. These include the Name of Jesus, the word of our testimony, intercessory prayer, an obedient life, and perseverance, to name a few. There are specific prayers a believer can use to begin self-deliverance, to forgive others, and to break generational curses. Ramirez includes numerous scripture references to give credence to his discourse and includes a section on how to make a decision to ask Jesus Christ into one's heart and life.
A book well worth the time to read and act upon.

Did you know that almost all ex-satanists, especially "high-ranking" ones, tell us that one of the favorite ploys of the enemy is to cause weak Christians to avoid talking about the devil... to say that he is small and has no power... and to say that all we need to do is focus on Jesus and not worry about the devil.... or don't give the devil or his demons any credit by mentioning them? We are to love Jesus, glorify Him, worship Him and sing His praises, but we are also to be vigilant and be ready for war in order to fight the good fight of faith... no one would go into battle in the natural without understanding who and what they're up against. Sadly, many young or lukewarm Christians avoid acquiring necessary knowledge about their enemy... and he slips into their life undetected and masquerades.... and usually winds up using them to attack their own.

As a primer for recognizing Satan's presence and actions in the world around us, this book rates five stars. For readability, however, it is a four. The writer knows whereof he speaks and genuinely wants everyone to see that Satan is alive and actively seeking to destroy every Christ follower.
I would encourage every Christian to read this book. Ramirez's message is eye-opening and will make readers think twice about the things going on in our world today.

Unmasking the Devil by John Ramirez
This is a beautiful book about how Jesus delivered him from the devil’s grasp. It’s time for the devil to be exposed for all the damage he has done in all four corners of the globe. He the devil did have some help from other men and women, and children. Whatever people are doing against the Word of Yahweh (God), we will all have to give an account. This entire nation needs to Repent with prayer, fasting, and turning back to Yahweh, starting with the men because Yahweh built these foundations upon them first. Too all you men out there, Repent! And turn back!backGYahweh(God)

Unmasking the Devil was fascinating. I was so interested I actually went out and bought Out of the Devil’s Cauldron to read because I wanted to read that one first, which tells about his conversion. This was a great book to go along with that one and I highly recommend buying and reading both. Great read - I am still thinking about it.

Awesome book
I chose this rating because this is another great book John Ramirez has wrote to makes aware of the lies and tricks the enemy plays on us . It's absolutely eye opener for us believers besides making us aware of his lies and help us not to be afraid of him. If God is for us who can be against us. We are more then conquerors because we have God on our side !

Mr Ramirez is inspiring as well as passionate about his relationship with God. He has seen the other side and is desperate to set others free who are still in the grasp of Satan. His writing is real, unmasked, and points to the reality of life; the enemy of our soul is real and he has been defeated. But do we know him and do we know the victory is ours for the taking?

This is a good introduction to spiritual warfare looking from the eyes of an ex-devil worshiper. I highly recommend this book to those who want to understand just what Christians are battling up against.

One of my favourite books of John Ramirez. The prayers in here are not your usual, they are powerful, effective and confronting. After I read this book it hit me so bad that I gave up smoking. He definitely unmasks the devil and his tactics and if you can handle the Truth, then this book is for you.

This book clearly defines what we as Christians are expected to be and do. John goes ahead and clearly illustrates what happens behind the scenes when we are asleep spiritually. Glory be to the name of Jesus!
