La Tierra está en las últimas. Por ello, un gran grupo de elegidos abandona el hogar y sale en una nave mundo en busca de Vera, un planeta que parece ser adecuado para la vida humana. Un viaje por la galaxia que dura más de 400 años.
Pero la espera ha terminado. Vera está muy cerca y deciden enviar a un grupo de 8 exploradores a estudiar la zona y comprobar si realmente es un planeta habitable.
Entonces empiezan a pasar cosas. Por un lado, Vera no es tal y como ellos pensaban y en la nave mundo aparece una misteriosa apertura, demostrando la existencia de intrusos caminando entre la tripulación.
Estamos ante una obra de ciencia ficción con tintes de thriller tan adictivo que, a pesar del texto, se lee de una sentada. Los autores conocidos por 'Los mundos de Aldebaran' o 'Kenia', hacen un trabajo estupendo a la hora de exponer científicamente la situación de la humanidad y los problemas a los que se van enfrentando, además de explicar las condiciones geográficas, sociales y políticas que vive la comunidad para que no te sientas perdido en ningún momento.
La historia parece bastante típica, pero todo se desmadra en el momento en que los exploradores pisan la supuesta tierra prometida y se encuentran con criaturas extrañas nunca vistas, dinosaurios, réplicas exactas de la antigua Tierra y muchas otras cosas que no encajan con la idea que tenían del planeta. Una auténtica locura deliciosa que te hace seguir con los ojos pegados a las viñetas.
El dibujo, a simple vista algo tosco, casa muy bien con la historia y el dibujante se cuida de mostrar muy bien cada escenario y detalles de la naturaleza y criaturas que vamos encontrando, así como también la parte técnica centrada en la nave.
Recomendado fervientemente si os gusta la ciencia ficción. Lo vais a disfrutar 👌

Aventura espacial en que una inmensa nave, que alberga a la población que se salvó de un desastre en la Tierra, busca un planeta para asentarse.
Muy bien dibujada, con un estilo limpio y detallista propio del cómic europeo, presenta unos escenarios magníficos. Los personajes son atractivos, como unas gemelas con poderes psíquicos. Es la primera parte de la serie pero promete.

Partiamo dall’edizione pocket, tascabile, bonellide, come preferite, molti la disdegnano perché va a rimpicciolire il formato delle tavole originali dando una resa ridotta, personalmente – non essendo un collezionista – invece le apprezzo molto in quanto più economiche. Così posso leggere in quantità senza venire bloccato dal prezzo e non ritengo che ciò vada ad inficiare in maniera così sensibile la qualità delle storie. Non capirò mai la moda che ha preso piede negli ultimi anni di edizioni gigantesche di modo che le persone possano definire i fumetti "graphic novel", sostanzialmente per darsi un tono e sfoggiarli sugli scaffali, e questo discorso vale per l’intera collana.
Detto ciò, Centaurus è una storia affascinante in grado di coinvolgerti lentamente in una meravigliosa avventura verso l’ignoto. Un’astronave a forma di cilindro che cerca di raggiungere una nuova casa abitabile abbandonando la Terra ormai disastrata, un manipolo di personaggi ben definiti che esplora questo nuovo pianeta, un mistero a bordo della nave stessa che ormai non può più proseguire a lungo il proprio viaggio, il tutto caratterizzato a regola d’arte.
È sorprendete come in così poche pagine la gestione dei dialoghi e dell’ambiente riesca subito a metterci a nostro agio con i personaggi, calandoci in un contesto che sembra di conoscere da sempre… ok, forse ricalca qualche cliché, ma caspita, lo fa maledettamente bene ^^
Detto ciò, Centaurus è una storia affascinante in grado di coinvolgerti lentamente in una meravigliosa avventura verso l’ignoto. Het verhaal is best aardig, hoewel niet heel origineel, een paar verschillende plotlijnen door elkaar heen. Tekenwerk valt erg tegen, die krassen in de gezichten werkt totaal niet en de gezichtsuitdrukkingen zijn levenloos.

Een stripreeks waarin Aardlingen al een vierhonderd jaar onderweg zijn in een ruimteschip om een nieuwe planeet te vinden om te kunnen overleven. De aarde is volledig onbewoonbaar geworden.
Een leuk sci-fi/dystopisch verhaal.
Een goed te volgen verhaal dat op een passende moderne manier getekend werd. Of dat komt toch op mij zo over. Ben natuurlijk geen grote stripkenner maar ik vind deze stijl best goed passen bij het soort verhaal.
Het beloofde land is het eerste deel in een vijfdelige stripreeks.
Niet overdreven spannend maar zeer onderhoudend om te lezen.

Centaurus starts with a bang and ends with a meh.
I LOVE the idea of humans living onboard a giant cylinder-shaped seed ship and the mystery behind the invader and the even more mysterious planet which is full of dangers. However, as most of the mysteries get lifted by book 4, the explanations leave much to be desired of after that build-up. It's not bad--I just wish the kick-ass premise would have been better used to tell a more satisfying (end) story.
The drawings are fairly realistic Franco-Belgian which look more comic-ish in the first 3 books and then feel more digitally painted in the last two books. Still, the style alone is a 4/5.
If you can borrow this 5-part series from the library, do it. Not sure if it's worth a buy with that ending though...

L'histoire est vraiment sympathique et donne envie de lire la suite sans compter qu'il y a très peu de temps morts, ce qui est plutôt cool. Si les paysages sont plutôt réussis, les personnages sont génériques au possible et ont très peu d'expressions faciales: on dirait que des mannequins de cire! J'avoue que je sors tout juste de la saga de Solo Les survivants du chaos qui est exceptionnellement bien dessiné et j'ai sans doute du mal à me remettre dans le dessin un peu plus "ordinaire".
En tout cas, l'histoire est intéressante et je compte bien lire la suite.

Interesting start. The scenario isn't exactly the most original, but there are some intruiging mysteries. Like with a lot of first issues in SF comics, there is a lot of talking back and fourth, sometimes over several pages and dozens of panels. It's something that I don't mind in a book, but that quickly gets on my nerves in comics and graphic novels.
The artwork is a mixed bag, the landscape and spaceship shots are wonderfully detailled, but the people and faces are somehow drawn very stiff and unnatural. Most characters' eyes are completely expressionless.

Leo nas još jednom vodi na put preko svjetlosnih godina do novih svijetova. Ovog puta putuje se generacijama u velikom cilindru, i sad pred ciljem izgleda da je planet gdje su ljudska rasa upitila po spas već zauzet.
Janjetov crtež kompozicijom i stilom odgovara dosadasnjim sličnim Leovim pricama. U licima likova ipak prepoznaje se Janjetova ruka.
Sve u svemu jos jedno putovanje na koje ću se rado uputiti.

Es la primera vez que me pongo con esta dupla de autores. Es un comic de ciencia ficción que por ahora promete. Utiliza recursos conocidados como los vistos en battlestar galactica. Una civilización vagando por el espacio en busca de unta tierra de primisión donde poder asentarse, en el proceso tendrán que sortear peligros. Como véis, nada nuevo. Pero tienen una buena construcción de personajes y la trama parece muy interesante, deseando leer el segundo volumen.

Après un départ lent qui laisse présager le pire, voilà que l'histoire décolle et c'est fort bon. Bien dessinée, bien scénarisée, l'aventure est palpitante et ce lecteur-ci a déjà hâte de lire la suite.

This is just about the first book.
The Earth is ruined, a cylindrical generation spaceship was on the way for a long time and now arrived at the destination planet. There are artifacts and ruins there. An exploration ship is sent out.
I like Science Fiction but I am not a regular comic book reader.
That said.... I liked the story, especially at the end of this book, when some intriguing mysteries popped up.
I was not so happy with the drawings. They are quite conventional, but my main gripe is how the faces are drawn. They seem mask-like and the emotions they express, are often mis-matched.

Great Potential.....
Of course, "but." Great potential but the whole thing seems stiff & stilted somehow. The characters don't mesh & the dialogue is stiff & predictable. There's enough to the story for me to come back & continue on in hopes things will "click" for me.
