Anna Walker has produced another gorgeously illustrated and sparsely narrated picture book in Between. The text begins with a series of opposites while the illustrations allow us to see the story of two characters searching for each other with a happy and successful resolution. As an adult I loved the concept and the book but I am not convinced that children will have the same level of interest or attraction.
Nevertheless, I can see the book being a perfect introduction to a writing exercise using opposites to create a narrative as well as to the technique of spatter painting.

The illustrations in this book are just stunning. There are not a lot of words and it doesn't really need them.

Read the version that has already been released in Australia as I borrowed my copy from the local library.

Very sparse text (there are only a few words in the book) and stunning illustrations makes this book a soothing read.
