Looking for a positive, feel good, charming Christmas romance you've found your book.
Loved meeting Celeste and Nathan and seeing how their most unexpected romance plays out.
A snowstorm diverts her work travel flight from the Caribbean where she's assigned to cover the holidays on assignment over Christmas to Sea Spray Island near Cape Cod.
She's understandably very upset for the diversion, but the bad weather keeps piling on and as her relation progresses, we see how charming it really is on the island. I loved meeting all the people there and getting a real feel of the wants and needs of them. They are trying desperately to get funding for the important community center to not close. It's the hub of the town and all the fun stuff happens there.
Nathan's family inn is so cozy and charming that I'd love to visit it myself.
As this charming community draws her more into its arms and she's made to feel so welcome she is delighted to help with the community center fund raiser. What will happen once the snow stops flying though and things return to normal with her boss not happy about the major delay covering the travel story of the season.
Will she leave Nathan and return to her job, does she even want to now or has the holiday spirit wrapped itself around her and convinced her this is really where she wants to be in a new romance with the welcoming townsfolks.
Loved this holiday romance so warm and welcoming and so festively told.

The Christmas Cove Inn follows the split perspectives of both Celeste and Nathan as they struggle to balance their livelihoods with the ever growing matters of the heart. This book deals with such topics as found family, second chances, reconciliation and finding one’s place in the world, all within the gorgeous landscape of a Winter Wonderland.
Sea Spray Island is the epitome of the picturesque Christmas destination. The small town community seems to live and breathe off of decorating and celebrating Christmas the entirety of the season. In fact, there are family friendly activities every single day including a “Make-a-Flake” event and “Chowder Chowdown”. Also the main clock tower in town lets out a verse from The 12 Days of Christmas at the top of every hour. For somebody whose favorite holiday has always been Christmas, I have always dreamed of staying in a place like this. The destination gets full stars from me in this book!
Being that the community is small on the island, there are moments in which the rumor mill starts to become a slight problem for the main characters. However, the strong sense of community made up for it in groves when it mattered the most. I genuinely got a strong sense that everyone not only knew everyone else, but that everyone actually cared for everyone else. This showcased the true meaning of Christmas and I though that was beautiful.
Throughout the book, certain characters begin opening up about their past heartaches in a very natural and understanding way. Even with the cheerful Christmas backdrop, there is a deep melancholy within certain people. Just like in real life, it seems that we miss people the most around the holidays since it should be spent with those we love the most. There are feelings of loss and regret that repeatedly show up within this book. This leads to some amazing character development and even redemption that I thought were incredibly heartwarming and bittersweet to witness.
One of the reasons behind the 3 1/2 star rating from me was the pacing. In the majority of the book both Celeste and Nathan are incredibly stressed about a particular situation involving their jobs. Celeste needs to make it to the Caribbean by a certain day to keep her job and Nathan needs to figure out how to raise money for the community center before it gets shut down. While their worries are completely understandable, I did find the constant harping on these issues to be a bit repetitive especially when nothing new would actually change. Plus, they would both let this stress control their attitudes towards each other and that led to some immature reactions from both of them at times.
With so much attention being placed on those main issues, I felt the romance aspect was not given a proper focus until just about the last quarter of the book. By the time it arrived, it felt a bit rushed. Not to mention, all the side characters and circumstances constantly getting in the way of Celeste and Nathan being alone, it got a bit too slow-burn if that makes sense.
That being said, I did enjoy most of the aspects of the budding romance between the two main characters. Nathan being a single dad to his daughter Abby, had some reservations when it came to opening up to Celeste. I found this to be extremely mature considering the truth of what had happened to Abby’s mother plus a previous unsuccessful dating attempt. On the other hand, Celeste was hesitant to open up due to her getting used to being by herself after losing her mother. As they became closer and their feelings began getting harder to ignore, they began to make their pasts known to each other.
Them using each other as a support system made the foundations of their relationship all the more stronger. Plus Abby’s love for Celeste was incredibly sweet that people who come from blended families would enjoy.
All in all, if you are looking for a cozy heavy Christmas read with a good amount of drama and slow burn romance, I recommend The Christmas Cove Inn to you. I am curious to read more of Kristin’s books for sure.

The last book I read from Harper was a psychological thriller, and the one before that historical fiction, so I was eager to dip my toes into her Christmas fiction.
Her writing style is like a warm hug that wraps you up in comfort and contentment. The worlds she creates are immersive, and coupled with the richness of her descriptions really brings the story to life.
Several of my favourite tropes are featured in the book. I will never say no to a small town romance, the grumpy-sunshine vibe, and a dose of forced proximity.
A cast of charismatic characters, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic finished the book off nicely.
Her writing style is like a warm hug that wraps you up in comfort and contentment. The worlds she creates are immersive, and coupled with the richness of her descriptions really brings the story to life.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for an arc of The Christmas Cove Inn in exchange of an honest review. The premise of the novel had so much promise! Loveable characters, with ambitions which were community driven. A cast of characters which were a found family and healing from grief and nostalgia. However, as soon as the MMC and FMC were connecting, assumptions and lack of communications would set them back. This push and pull became hilarious because of course another situation would arise to keep them apart and at odds.
There is all of the small town holiday charm in this read. I had a hard time getting fully invested in our main characters, but was still wishing hard for their HEA. Personally this was a 2.5 star read for me, but will definitely be great for fans of Hallmark holidays.

Kristin Harper brings us right into the fold of this small island off the East Coast. Celeste and Nathan may not be looking for love but love had found them - even on a tiny island!
Small town romance, Christmas and Snowstorms just go together. What better way to trap your MC's in the same place for more than a few hours! Nathan's family Inn sounds gorgeous and I'd love to have somewhere as charming to be stranded.
The island itself is described so well and anything I thought was missing just inserted random pictures of New England from movies and TV, lol. And getting funding for a community centre, that's the perfect way to rope in local and out of towner.
A great exploration of the themes of making life fit you, not making you fit your life, there are no accidents in life, unexpected love is the best kind, small town doesn't mean small life.
Perfect read to get you in the mood for the winter holidays!

I enjoyed reading this story, its fun, light and serious in just the right places.
After having to take another flight after being bumped off her original one, Celeste ends up meeting Nathan, a single dad of 8 year old Abigail.
Celeste is desperate to get to her destination as she has a Christmas assignment to get done.
Nathan is quite keen for her to stay at the Cove, his sisters Inn.
The locals soon take a shine to her and welcome her with open arms. The delays keep coming and the more torn Celeste becomes about leaving.
Nathan has problems of his own, with his community centre job hanging in the balance.
I fully recommend this 5 star read as a fresh take on Christmas cheer looms.
You will come across rescue missions, wrestling inflatable lobsters and the fun Patty.
Oh and of course the sprinkling of love and hope.

Cue the loveable small town secondary characters, Christmas activities, and slow burn romance. The town has daily Christmas activities which will get you in the mood for the holiday.
Celeste and Nathan both find their jobs on the line and desperately try to find a solution to save their positions.
Due to blizzard-like conditions and a series of unfortunate events, Celeste ends up spending time stuck there and the locals accept her as one of their own.
With the snow flying, the Christmas activities, and the coziness of this book you will want to start the holiday season early!

This was a wonderful heartwarming story from start to finish. Kristin Harper is one of my go to authors. I always enjoy reading her books. I get excited each time I see she has a new book coming out. If you have not read any of her books, I highly recommend doing so. This story was beautiful and entertaining. Definitely be prepared to laugh!There are quite a few laugh out loud moments. The characters were a very likable and engaging. It was a treat to get to know each character.

When Celeste ends up being stranded on an island that wasn’t the one she intended to spend Christmas alone on it seems like the worst thing in the world for her. When she bumps into Nathan and sees his world she has a sense of wonder. When she begins to spend time with the island’s inhabitants and his family she realises all that is missing in her life. This is a warm and rich festive book. Perfect to welcome in the season. It’s got a great storyline, friendships, food and festive feels. I liked this a lot.

This a cute Christmas read based on close knit island community.
Celeste and Nathan meet accidentally, I wouldn't say there's an immediate spark it's more friendship and helping a stranded passenger. I enjoyed the development of their push and pull relationship.
I do love reading these close knit communities, not sure I could live in one though!

The Christmas Cove inn was a cozy, heartwarming, sweet holiday romance. I loved the small-town feel and finding love and community in unexpected places. I also enjoyed the humor, hope, and happy ending, which feels extra comforting during the holiday season! Thank you Netgalley for an ARC.

I love this book so much. It’s a great Christmas story and I love the fact that this island does such a huge thing for Christmas. This was absolutely an amazing story.

This was an easy to read book. It’s set in a lovely sounding location. The main characters were a little ditzy acting and got on my nerves at times. It is a good book to add to your holiday reading list.
