This was an enjoyable book with a unique world. Instead of the standard wolf shifters all the humans in the this world are alphas, omegas, or betas and there are some magical creatures like dragons and phonixes as well. The world building was laid out fairly well. I liked how Rum got drawn into finding his mate as well as getting mixed up in his best friend's problems as well. I also like how the beginning of the book spent sometime exploring Run's character so I got to know him before the story's romance and mystery took off.

I really enjoyed the story in this one and the characters were very interesting. I do think that the story twist with the book wouldn't have been necessary... but the rest was very good! I loved the dynamic between Silas and Rum and I would love to read more of them :)

Interesting twist on the paranormal romance
It is a very interesting twist on the shifter genre. Very well written and my only complaint is that the pace get slow at times with lengthy explanations but otherwise a very good reading.

Would have garnered more with more story. I want to know if a half dragon-half phoenix looks like what I imagine.
