Winnie has always been able to rely on two things; her job as an interior designer—she knew the chambers of her heart were probably too damaged to undergo renovations, so she decided the next best thing was to make life better and prettier, for other people—and pink sunsets. With these two things, she knew she’d be okay.

Which is how she finds herself working in Prince Edward County after landing a dream job designing rental cottages. Not only will she be able to bring her vision to life, she’ll also get a much-needed vacation in a small, charming town. At least, she thought so, but then came the handyman her new boss hired.

Levi rattles her from the get-go with his ability to throw the same energy right back her way and unsettles her with his interest in getting to know everything about Winnie.

As anticipated, things are not going according to her expectations—until they come to a common ground and a deal is made. They’ll spend these weeks together choosing the perfect shade of blue, roaming around local thrift stores, getting into small scuffles and catching sunsets on the porch swing.

Winnie will be A-okay.

And if she suddenly finds herself trying to navigate having her first crush at the ripe age of twenty-eight, it’s no big deal. She’s (sort of) got this!

Sunset Catchers 💕 was a good breezy, cozy romance. My favorite love story of the book was the one between Junie and Winnie. Women's friendships are the best.

The vibe of PEC was perfectly captured by the author.

The writing style was engaging, but I find that the the shifting tone frequently disrupted the flow. It fluctuated between highly informal and formal. This combined with a few grammatical errors, made the text difficult to follow at times.

I also wish we could have seen more character building from Levi.

I think for a debut novel it was great. I would be interested to read a better edited version of Sunset Catchers and more from the author in the future.

J’ai beaucoup aimé cette romance ! C’est le genre de livre qui se lit tout seul . J’ai aimé être au cœur est enjeux de Winnie. Ça normalise beaucoup de choses . C’était juste assez quétaines. On a tous besoin d’un Levi au fond . Je regarder mes prochains sunsets différemment maintenant 🩷 un super premier ouvrage pour cette auteure indépendante du Québec !! C’est rare quand on aime lire en anglais .

I just finished this book and I’m sitting at work as an absolute mess of tears, genuinely trying to find the words to explain the endless amount of emotions I felt while reading it.

You know how people always say, “I wish I could erase my memory so I could experience my favorite book for the first time again”? That’s exactly how I feel about this book. I want to re read it over and over again.
It’s the kind of book that feels like a little band-aid for your broken heart (especially if you see yourself in Winnie as much as I do).
I’ve been wanting to devour this book as quickly as possible while also wanting to savor every single page. It was almost impossible to put it down and go back to being a functioning, independent, working adult because all I wanted to do was keep reading about these two idiots in love.
Honestly, I’m already counting down the days until book two.
Now, I also collect sunsets, and I know I’ll always think of Levi and Winnie whenever I see one.
Thank you, Vanessa, for giving us this beautiful story. I truly hope I get to read many more of your books in the future. 💖

Une romance feelgood avec une vibe d'été. Levi le greenflag dont toutes les filles reveraient ! J'ai adoré les touches humoristiques du livre. Beaucoup de belles reflexions a avoir en lisant ce roman, surtout au niveau de notre perception de soi et pour ce qui est de s'investir dans une relation amoureuse.
Je veux une Junie dans ma vie ! Cant wait de savoir ce qui va se passer de son côté dans le 2e tome de la serie !

Very good debut novel by this fun & quirky author. Winnie’s inner monologue is the best. Now all I want is a vacation in PEC, a tall iced latte, and the next book from the Sunset series.

A note / would love to see this series picked up by a publisher, and perhaps a bit re-edited.
