Every single part of me is his and every single part of him is mine. But we’re broken...
Emilia Davenport and Oliver Paxton have always had a unique kind of love. It blossomed during childhood and has only grown stronger through the years. They thought they were indestructible, so they promised each other forever.
When someone they trust rips their world apart unexpectedly, both Emmy and Ollie desperately attempt to salvage what’s left of their once unwavering love. What remains is nothing like it used to be – it’s dark and hateful and broken beyond repair.
A new start at Hudson University is exactly what they need, but new friendships prove to hinder rather than fix. Forever just might not be a part of their equation anymore.
Maybe love isn’t enough. Maybe it never was.

Amy Vanessa Miller is a Canadian independent author known for her shockingly edgy Misfits series. She loves to push the boundaries with her writing and has always been a fan of angsty stories.
New characters are introduced as some of the Markson Grove crew move on to college. This new crew is just as dramatic though! They will keep you turning the pages to see what's coming next. You're still left wanting more at the end of the book because you need to know what's going to happen to these characters.
While this is the second book in the series it almost felt more like a spin off with its own characters while also bringing back old favorites for the occasional cameo or mention. I think that was the best approach for the novel.
Amy Vanessa Miller builds a new world into her Markson Grove universe and allows it to breath on its own while still allowing for updates on the people we loved from Keep From Falling. The new additions to the world take us through a roller-coaster of emotions as you watch them grew as their story is told. You learn to love the characters and care what happens to them.
While I was very satisfied with the first novel and where the story went at the end the second book left me wanting so much more and not wanting it to end. This is a good thing because while some series have a difficult time introducing new characters this is not an issue with Miller's book. By the end you are left hoping there is not a long wait for book three.
This review is based on an early draft but it was an amazing and enjoyable early draft.
When soulmates do nothing but tear each other down, something's got to give. Someone has to say when. Emmy and Ollie are destined to be together forever, but their relationship is far from anything positive. Lies. Deception. Betrayal. The ingredients of the recipe that is their lives. But they have no choice but to love each other forever.
Just as with book one, Keep From Falling, Say When takes you on an emotional journey that leads to insight on the struggle and conflict between Ollie and Emmy. They've begun a new chapter in their lives, going from their opaque high school bubble, to college, where outside influences help them see things they weren't able to realize on their own. Things that could completely change them. Things that could mend them. Things that could destroy them.
Say When has taken Amy Vanessa Miller's writing to a completely new level. The heartbreak, the growth and the love of all of the book's characters are so well plotted, that you won't want the book to end. You will want to live in their world with these characters and be friends with them forever .
When I started reading this novel I was going though a rough patch with my second love (books), I wasn't able to hold my attention long enough to finish a chapter, but that changed the moment I started reading Say When, I found myself sneaking in chapters at 2 in the morning. My heart went out to the characters in the novel,The first time I met Oliver Paxton I wasn't very fond of him but as his story went on I started to empathize with him, one of the scenes in the novel had me furious with him, I really wanted to just grab him and kick him in the butt but then when he learned some family history i wanted to just grab him and hold him till his pain went away( the funny part Mrs Miller warned me my outlook on him may change and boy did it ever). I loved how we were introduced to new characters, but still knew what was happening with some of our fav's from the first book. I can't wait to see what's in store for the next novel in this series. <3
A solid 4.5. Miss Miller finished Keep from Falling strong and did not disappoint with Say When. I couldn't help not putting the book down! I had to know what was next! The new characters blended with the old in a new chapter of life is just fabulous! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!!
It was awesome!!!! Couldn''t put the book down. These characters were very well defined and I completely got hooked. Lots of strong emotions that you could feel in your soul and I'm not shy to say I got choked up a few times. Keep up Amy you are a brilliant author.
Another awesome read by Amy Vanessa Miller. I love her books! I love how her books grab you and are impossible to put down! The writing just flows and captures you. I like that she makes you love and hate the characters and makes you want more. Very modern story with very likeable characters. I can't wait to read more from Amy! Both of her books deserve 5 stars for sure!
I was completely in love with the blurb and the cover. They were the first things that drew me to Say When. But the writing and the characters are what kept me from being able to put it down.
This story was a tough one for me because I've experienced a love like Emmy and Ollie have. You can love someone so much and so deeply, but you get to a point where you're just like, something's gotta give. As much as it hurts, there's more to "Forever Love" than just love.
One of my favorite lines in the book is this one: "Every single part of me is his and every single part of him is mine. But we’re broken."
The first step in fixing a relationship or stepping away from one is to know that something is broken. Emmy and Ollie are soulmates. They've been together for so long and they want it to be forever, but they both know that something needs to change. They need to fight for each other or they need to let go.
Can "Forever Love" survive the lies? The deception? Can it survive destruction?
The level of angst and emotion in this book is phenomenal. And that's not easy to come by. Some authors try and they fail, but Amy definitely did not.
I haven't had the chance to read Keep from Falling yet, but I don't feel like I missed out on getting to know Emmy or Ollie. Or any of the other characters. But I am excited to go back and read it so I can be immersed in their world once again.
Say When is an enthralling and addictive story that will take you on an emotional roller coaster. I absolutely devoured this book.
This isn't your typical romance. This isn't your typical college love story. This is more. So much more.
Ollie and Emmy have been each other's everything their entire lives. Promising forever when most people are declaring their devotion to a celebrity, both Ollie and Emmy are completely wrapped up and consumed with each other. Their relationship is noticeably unhealthy and co-dependent. From page one you know that somewhere darkness has overshadowed their happily ever after.
The level of angst in Say When is EPIC. Ms. Miller has a way of drawing you into a story and not only holding you hostage in emotion but cheering for the guy you swore was the villain.
At this point in my review, I've written, re-written, and deleted highlights. I don't think it is fair to tell you more. This book is something you must feel and experience.
The supporting cast is interesting and necessary. Each point of view and each character brings you more into the group and helps you understand that regardless of what you see from the outside, until you are behind closed doors with someone you don't truly know them and you surely can't understand their pain.
The second book in the Markson Grove series keeps everything I loved about the first book: diversity, romance, friendship, complexity, and drama you would never expect. However, even more so than the first book, this installment has some of the best characterization of a novel I have ever seen. Miller digs deep into the psyches of her characters, finds what makes them tick, and makes readers understand their sometimes villainous or controversial actions. The book is a thought provoking, emotional ride from start to finish. I laughed at the character quirks, cried at some of the twists and turns, and was left openly gasping and rereading when piece by piece Miller revealed secrets about these characters that the reader never would have expected. If you want a good book about self discovery, about love being so much more than what it seems, and about making and learning from mistakes at a young, pivotal age, then I highly suggest you dive deep into the thrilling world of Markson Grove.
Loved every second of this book that I went back and bought Keep From Falling. Amy's books are full of so much angst and it is addicting. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.
