That is, until she meets someone she absolutely cannot fall in love the devastatingly beautiful, and devastatingly human barista, Bella Dragomir.

But as a string of vampiric killings begins spreading across New York City—killings that seem to draw closer and closer to Bella herself—Yasmine finds herself wondering if the truth is more complicated than she wants to believe. Especially when it comes to Bella.

I loved the first book, so I couldn't wait to read this one. First of all, I was thrilled that Aster and Sylvia were also part of this book and that they're still so funny. Second, I liked Bella right away. Watching her gradually draw Yasemine out of her shell and break down her walls, brick by brick.

I loved their banter! It was great, and the two of them had electrifying chemistry. I liked the numerous secrets that took a long time to fully come to light. That made the whole love story even better and more exciting.

I really liked the story about Bella and Yasemine! It was entertaining, funny, very spicy, beautiful, exciting, and not quite as gory as the first part. In my opinion, the book about Aster and Sylvia was somehow more well-rounded. Everything just clicked. But that's just my personal feeling.

ughhh I LOVED THIS AND I NEED MORE!!!!
Valerie Hunter has done it yet again, except instead of delivering hot, chaotic, and perpetually broke main characters like the first installment, we got hot, mysterious, and brainy scientists this time around.

Yasmine and Bella were absolutely great. Their dynamic and chemistry was a hit from their first interaction, and it just kept getting better as the book went on. We also get to see more of Aster and Sylvia, which is *always* a plus. And speaking of Sylvia, her friendship with Yasmine is literally the funniest thing ever.

The ending did feel like it was wrapped up rather quickly and could’ve shown more of Yasmine and Bella’s relationship post-resolution, but I’m also just greedy and would read 300 more pages of this simply because I love it.

I need this author to keep making books because I’m obsessed!!!! I will auto-buy anything she announces!!!

I want more. I need more. We need another book ASAP. I genuinely enjoy reading books by this author. I think the first book in the series will forever have my heart, but this one really exceeded my expectations.

Yasmine was not what I expected at all after reading the first book, but I was pleasantly surprised that I LOVED her and she may be my #1 favorite in this series. She has such a hard exterior but once someone gets past those walls she is so caring.

I’m not sure why I had such a hard time liking Bella at first. She wasn’t a bad character by any means, but it took a bit to warm up to her.

There was definitely less action in this book than the first, but it didn’t take away from the story itself. I wanted a bit more of Bella and Yasmine’s relationship, but it was so so good either way.

BREATHTAKING, ROMANTIC, SUSPENSEFUL, BEAUTIFUL WRITING, AHHHHHHHH

I absolutely loved this book so much. I was smiling the entire time I was reading it.

This story is a romance, but it also has a mystery running through it that kept me constantly hooked. I was always sitting there thinking, “AHHH what is going to happen next?” The setup and execution were gorgeous, and I genuinely can’t wait to read more from Valerie Hunter. Her writing is beautiful.

Valerie, if you ever see this, thank you for this masterpiece.

I fell in love with the main characters, Yasmine and Bella, almost immediately and was rooting for them from the start. I was basically just thinking, “KISS! KISS! KISS!” the whole time I was reading.

We also get to see more of Aster and Sylvia from the first book in the series, which I really enjoyed. I loved seeing their dynamic again, especially how domestic they’ve become together. I also liked getting more of Yasmine and Sylvia’s friendship; they’re complete opposites, but it works so well.

My only real wish is that we got a longer epilogue to see more of Yasmine and Bella. Valerie, if you’re reading this, I would love more content of them.

Yasmine and Bella just fit each other so perfectly. Their banter is amazing, and their connection feels like two puzzle pieces clicking together. - July 6th

Yep worth the wait! Almost glad I forgot about the date it was dropping because after book 1 I was just annoyed I couldn’t read them back to back. But this was just as enjoyable as the first story but it maybe lacked the total mystery I had with Sylvia and Aster. Part of that might be because there’s an expectation about their powers, and what they can truly inflict but it just felt less blood thirsty and more logical. Ultimately this tracks because we’re dealing with super genius scientists and a lot of the story is rooted in finding a scientist solution for death (but the reason is so endearing)

I love this couple together, I think we deserved more time with them after the I really like you and I love you’s but there was always something external happening that was a more pressing matter so what we see of their relationship is always rooted in a task where I felt like Aster and Sylvia really were besties for hundred of years so the interactions were better to read imo.

Strong recommend, I’ll read anything by this author but it didn’t reach the standard of re read, whereas book 1 deffo did

Memorable Quotes:
"Financial Leech: Also, asking for a friend, what the fuck are you supposed to do if your child has started levitating out of their crib at night." (Chapter 1, pg. 12) - Sylvia.
"Okay, fair but consider this," Sylvia said, waving her hands around like a magician revealing a trick. "You can afford to take six months off." "No, I can't." "Of course you can. Aster and I often take six decades off, and it's no problem." "Off from what?" Yasmine hissed. "You two don't work, Sylvia" - (Chapter 2, pg. 18) - Yasmine/Sylvia.
"Glad we're on the same page, then." Bella snorted. "Not sure we're even in the same book. but we'll get there." (Chapter 8, pg. 69) - Bella.
"I have this foolish instinct that I can trust you. It's probably just the near-death adrenaline, but too late now, cat's out of the bag. You're my confidant." (Chapter 17, pg. 159) - Bella.
"I was always aware that I wasn't actually a teenager, and these people weren't my contemporaries. But it didn't matter. For the first time in my life, I actually felt like I was growing into something instead of running into brick walls." (Chapter 19, pg. 184) - Bella.

Review:
Entering back into the Valerie Hunter vampire world I was so excited to see Aster/Sylvia had been up to and the introduction of Bella/Yasmine. For the most part I was deeply engaged and the growing relationship between Bella and Yasmine. At the beginning I was completely caught off guard as I thought Bella was a human but the reveal of her being a vampire was so well done. I did suspect and question what was going on whenever Yasmine had described her having a second sense or simply appearing to look into her soul. Looking back now it makes so much sense. I'd say the dynamic between Bella and Yasmine was very different in tone compared to the first book. While reading I was considering this a negative but truthfully this a positive because it wasn't am exact repeat of the previous book. This informs me that Valerie is a capable writer who is able to pull something new and fresh without completely deviating from what was done before. The inclusion of Aster and Sylvia had me slightly disappointed as I expected to see a bit of them. It would've been nice getting to read more interactions with them and their child together. The scene where Aster was left alone with their kid and Sylvia went on a trip with her therapist. That made me feel so bad for Aster and mad at Sylvia because I was quick to assume she had cheated on Aster or something, but I don't think that was the case. It would've been nice if that plot point was further explored as there was different dynamic going on between Aster and Sylvia as parents. Overall, a really good read despite the different in tone/dynamic compared to the first! I highly recommend this book!

It was entertaining but I didn’t feel super immersed in this book compared to the first one.

I feel there was lots of plots which I enjoyed but I felt they weren’t explored enough or explained enough, and I feel this way with our main characters and their relationship as well.

Vampirism also has shown to be very different in this installment vs the last as it’s a fungus? But again, I feel the focus or attention wasn’t really on that as it should’ve been.

I had trouble finding the two MCs characterization, I couldn’t really get a good grasp on their characters, they felt very one dimensional and sometimes inconsistent. This also played a huge part on my main issue on how unconvincing it felt reading these characters’ relationship build up. There were very fun and camp moments, then there’s very scientific and serious which made the whole vibes of the book all over the place.

I LOVED the first book. It was actually one of my top 3 most enjoyable reads for this year, but it took all of the enjoyable aspects from the first book and mixed it with tons of new factors and that it ended up into a heaping mess.

A decent read, engaging characters, though with very unusual vampires who eat, drink, are just as messed up and contradictory as humans. I suppose that was a HEA, but it didn’t feel that way. Though, of course, they also have the morality of any set of billionaires, which is to say none at all. Sort of human emotions, but then immortality is boring without money. I didn’t feel the “romance” part at all. As if Earth isn’t already filled with enough real amoral, immoral billionaires. I enjoyed the read through the first half of the book but the second half left me drained of the empathy I’d felt in the first half. It’s well written but I require more than that and did not find it here.

A fun follow up to the first book, She’s My Eternity explores the loneliness of immortality and the revelation of finally meeting your match. I do think the beginning and ending were a bit disjointed and the resolution felt rushed. But overall an enjoyable read.

First serious review I’m doing for anything (that’s how good this is)! It’s not gonna be terribly long, but I don’t think it needs to be in order for me to get across what I need to. This is gonna be a non-spoilery one.

This book easily immerses the reader through its entertaining character dynamics (Sylvia and Aster are back!) and intriguing plot. Unlike some books, this wasn’t one that I could predict the ending of in the first 40%. I enjoyed guessing what would come next—something that always kept me on my toes.

The pacing didn’t feel like it dragged on or rushed terribly throughout the book, either. I was able to escape a decent amount of peopling when reading this, and ended up getting through it in only a couple of hours. I have a soft spot for a modern fantasy setting/plot (which this falls into the category for when it comes to me), and I’ve pretty much gone through all of the sapphic books in that category. It made it easy to devour 😉

Yasmine and Bella’s dynamic was thoroughly enjoyable for me to experience. I won’t get too much into it (cause it would become very spoilery very quickly), but I do love a relationship where it doesn’t feel completely dominated by one side or the other. We get to know both characters throughout the book, and gradually find out just how compatible they are for each other in many different aspects of life. The sexy scenes don’t dominate the book, but that doesn’t mean they are lacking spice. I personally wouldn’t read it on public transit, but each to their own!

…okay, that was a lot longer than I thought it would be, but I could write an essay on how much I enjoy this book, so this is still short in comparison.

This book is so well-rounded - it’s got the romance, the communication, the compelling backstory, a propulsive plot, and an interesting scientific goal. I stayed up
way too late flying through it, loving it all. It was fun to see Sylvia and Aster again. But I loved Yasmine and Bella all on their own. They have a rich connection, complete each other, and are interesting in their own right- I loved the tenderness of Yasmine’s relationship with Wallace. Great dialogue and chemistry. I can’t wait for more from this author!

Short summary: Yasmine is the richest vampire on earth. She has one friend, one son, one major research lab and that’s all she needs. Until she runs into the frighteningly beautiful and mysterious Bella, who also turns out to be a colleague and completely irresistible to Yasmine despite being fiercely independent.

I think we sort of glossed over the fact that Bella's family essentially pimped her out for 2000 years? For that whole time she apparently did nothing, but marry some rich vampire and drain them on their wedding night. And she hated it the whole time. It's implied that the first time she had sex with Yasmine was also the first time she had sex for pleasure. I don't think it's possible to sustain such a life for that long and not be significantly more fucked up than Bella is. At some point you'd either try to assert some agency or just break mentally. Her behaviour just isn't congruent with someone who is positively ancient. Hells Sylvia and Aster act more like you'd expect a centuries old person to act than Bella and she has more than a millennia on them.

That being said this was still highly entertaining. I've loved the first book and enjoyed this one a lot as well.

If I was hooked by Valerie's book The Girl Who Bit Me, this book made me obsessed with her writing. If you are looking for a romantic, sexy, intense, supernatural, yet funny sapphic book, this would be in my top 5 recommendations, of course, right after The Girl Who Bit Me. A solid book with a solid plot, an interesting main character, and it gives you much more depth into Sylvia and Aster's world. That said, both Sylvia and Aster are side characters in this book, so I do recommend reading the first book, even though it's not completely necessary.

Yasmine and Bella are such good characters, and their background stories and development during their journey are addictive, leaving you wanting to read more about them. I really do hope there's a third book, or at least a sequel. I'm 100% sure that I will be seated.

Review:

I don't even know where to start with this review.

Honestly, I loved this book so much that I don't have coherent thoughts, just a thousand feelings fighting for attention.

This is actually my very first Goodreads review. I've read so many books over the years, but Valerie Hunter somehow managed to do the impossible and convince me to create a Goodreads account just so I could talk about how much I loved She's My Everything.

I pre-ordered this book and spent the days leading up to its release counting down the hours. I was so excited that I could barely sleep. When release day finally arrived, I wanted to read it as fast as possible because I needed to know what happened next. At the same time, I kept trying to slow myself down because I knew that once I finished it, there wouldn't be any more chapters waiting for me. I wanted to savor every page.

And now that I've finished it, I'm genuinely sad it's over.

This book gave me so many emotions. It made me smile, made me anxious, made me laugh, and completely pulled me into its world. When I reached the final page, all I could think was: That's it? Not because the ending wasn't satisfying, but because I wanted hundreds more chapters. I wasn't ready for it to end.

I absolutely adored Aster and Sylvia's dynamic in the first book, so I already had high expectations going into this one. Somehow, Valerie Hunter exceeded them. I fell in love with Bella and Yasmine almost instantly. Their chemistry, their interactions, and the way they made me care so deeply about their story had me completely hooked from beginning to end.

And I can't write this review without mentioning the chemistry between Bella and Yasmine. Their conversations felt natural, engaging, and full of personality. Whether they were making me laugh, making my heart ache, or making me completely obsessed with their dynamic, every interaction felt meaningful.

Without spoiling anything, if you're looking for a book with characters that feel real, a romance that keeps you invested, amazing chemistry, beautiful tension, and a story that completely immerses you in its world, then please pick this up. This is the kind of book that makes you lose track of time and leaves you thinking about the characters long after you've finished reading.

The fact that I'm writing this review at all should tell you how much this book meant to me. I wanted to leave this here as a thank you and as a show of appreciation. Valerie Hunter, thank you for giving us such a wonderful, heartfelt, immersive story. Thank you for creating characters and a romance that kept me completely invested from the first page to the last.

I'll be eagerly waiting for your next book, just like I waited for this one. If this sequel is any indication of what's to come, then I already know I'm in for another unforgettable reading experience.

Thank you for this beautiful story. My only complaint is that the book ended. 😭

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

She's My Eternity picks up in the same New York City I fell for in The Girl Who Bit Me, and Valerie Hunter proves book one wasn't a fluke (and neither was my foray into the romantasy genre).

What struck me most is how little the vampire mythology actually has to do with why this book works. Strip away the supernatural elements and you still have a story about family, growing up, and figuring out what you owe the people you love versus what you owe yourself. The fantasy dressing is fun, but it's the human (and not-so-human) stakes underneath that give the book its weight.

Yasmine could've easily been a one-note "rich immortal professor" archetype, but Hunter gives her real texture, especially in how she navigates her relationship with her son, Wallace. Their dynamic is an emotional focal point of this book, and it does so much more than I initially anticipated. Watching Yasmine wrestle with wanting to make Wallace immortal, and slowly realizing that isn't actually her decision to make, is a masterclass in writing a character who has to unlearn control. There's a quiet parallel there to any parent watching their adult kid choose their own path, and Hunter never over-explains it. She trusts the reader to feel it.
The Yasmine/Bella romance carries its own weight too. The professor/grad student tension is a familiar trope, but layering a thousand-year-old vampire on top of it adds a strange, effective wrinkle. Yasmine isn't just breaking a professional boundary, she's breaking a personal rule she's kept for centuries. That extra layer makes the slow burn hit sizzle even more, and the eventual payoff feels earned rather than inevitable.

Bella goes on her own journey as well, and we get to unpack that with her as we learn more and more about her family and the life she’s previously come from. In a parallel to Yasmine’s relationship with Wallace, we get to see Bella’s relationship with her mother along with her sisters. There’s absolutely something to be said about the family dynamics in this book, and at the very least, they all need some therapy.

I also loved getting Sylvia and Aster back in a supporting capacity. It's a small thing, but continuing characters who feel like actual people rather than cameo nods says a lot about how intentionally this world is being built. Keeping with the running theme of family, we get to explore the chosen family dynamics between Yasmine and Sylvia (and Aster as well).

If book one convinced me romantasy could be an entry point genre, book two convinced me this specific world has staying power.

TLDR: A love story wrapped around a bigger question about mortality, autonomy, and what it means to actually live our own lives and let the people we love do the same. Also a reminder that every family (and every relationship) is complicated.

This book has its fangs in me and I want more!
"The Girl Who Bit Me" has come to be one of my favorites and when I got the email that a second book was coming out in the series I had to quickly snatch up the opportunity to be able to read this. When I saw this was about Yasmine I would say I was intrigued as we saw a glimpse of her in the first book but was thinking if I would fall to love her and Bella as I did with Aster and Sylvia. As when the books shift from a couple it takes me a while to come to love em as much as the initial ones. Well that question was shut down quickly by the end of the first chapter I was already wanting to know more about Yasmine. The same with Bella the dynamic, romantic tension between the two of them is so well written it'll make you want to binge read this
Valerie's writing just as captivating as the first one which is what I adored from the first one there is more building into her unique vampire world. The same humor, fangtastic spice and don't worry if you miss Aster & Sylvia they do make their appearances, is always great to see the characters you fell for first in a sequel.
Yasmine and Bella's journey take you for such a rollercoaster ride you will want to repeat that ride with how many turns and twists there is, the growth and challenges they go thru resonate so well you will definitely come to love them, they have truly eternally captured my heart,. 🥹
And if Valerie continues on this series wether that be revisiting one of the two couples, a new one or even a new world all together you can bet I will be picking up her next book without a second though!
If you love vampire women, romantic tension, science pick this up you won't regret it I promise,
