Good book. Cal is on his way home for Thanksgiving after leaving the Navy. He's got a lot on his mind, not the least of which is the snowstorm he's driving through. When he spots a white flag waving in the storm, he's stunned to discover that it is the veil of a woman dressed in a wedding gown and unconscious in the snow. He carries her to safety, only to discover that she can't remember who she is or how she got there. When he witnesses two suspicious looking men searching for her, his protective instincts kick in. He calls her Stormy and is determined to help her figure out who she is.

Stormy has no idea how she ended up where she was, but she's pretty sure that the men looking for her don't have her best interests in mind. Though cautious at first, she trusts her instincts when it comes to Cal and feels safe when she's with him.

The story is fast paced and takes place over just a few days. Cal and Stormy need to figure out who she is and why they are after her. As she begins to get flashes of returning memory, Stormy is certain that there is something big that is going to happy on Saturday. Each memory gives them another clue to follow, which all begin to lead to a local college and an impending political visit. A bit of bad luck puts them both in the hands of the bad guys. The intensity of the confrontation kept me turning the pages, as I anticipated their escape. In an interesting twist, what the bad guys had planned was not what had brought Stormy to the case, but the two were linked. I loved the tension of seeing Cal do his part, while Stormy, memory restored, does hers and worries for his safety. I liked the ending.

The development of their relationship was really fast. Cal has avoided relationships because of his work as a SEAL, but something about Stormy really draws him. He is attracted to her, but because of the wedding gown considers her off limits. Stormy is just as attracted to him and is certain that no one else has a claim on her. Other than some hot kisses, at the beginning they don't have time to pursue what might be between them. I liked seeing them work together. Cal starts out be super protective, for reasons that come out later in the book, but Stormy is good at showing him that she doesn't need to be coddled. I liked seeing her stand up to him when it happened, and loved how he saw his error and changed his ways. It also gave him a chance to open up about his past and what has brought him back to Ravesville. Stormy had realized her feelings for him when he went off to defuse the bomb. I ached for her when she thought he was gone, and enjoyed their big moment at the end.

“I knew Mary Smith was bogus,” he said.
Her dark eyes got big. “That’s it? That’s it?” she repeated, her voice rising. “I tell you that I don’t know who I am and all you can say is ‘I knew Mary Smith was bogus.’ Of course it was bogus. I. Don’t. Know. My. Name.”
“And you’re pretty freaked about it,” he said.
Now she gave him a look that would have made most people run for the door.* It made him want to smile but he resisted. If he didn’t watch out, she’d land another punch.

Agent Bride is a quick and short read for someone interested in a cute romance and a little bit of a thrill. It follows a retired Navy Seal who finds a beautiful woman in a wedding gown on the side of a highway – in the middle of a snowstorm. Dubbed Stormy, she eventually tells Cal that she has no idea who she is, but she knows that Saturday is the deadline. The deadline for what, and Stormy’s identity, is what they work to figure out before time runs out.

As I’m not the intended audience for this kind of Harlequin romance, I really don’t see the appeal of this sort of stuff. Sure the story line is good and the mystery was laid out well, but I found the book in general to be rather flat and predictable. The characters had great chemistry and fit well, and Long handled the amnesia (which, on the back cover, I originally read as “anorexic”) very well and the memories surging back was written very well. There were several points in the book where sentences would become extremely short and the page would read choppy, and sometimes there was the overuse of “but” or “too” and it sounded too repetitive, but really there was nothing that jumped out of the page. There was nothing about the romance that had me swooning, nothing about the mysterious Mercedes Men looking for Stormy that had me sitting on the edge of my seat biting my lip, and nothing about the ending that made me feel.. anything.

It was, overall, an okay read. I guess I’m I can consider myself not a fan of “intriguing” romances.

* I always run across that line: “the look that made most people run for cover.” I can’t say I’ve ever felt the need to run from a look, have you? At least does anyone else agree that this line is incredibly irritating and unimaginative?

I Really enjoyed this story. I loved the suspense, and action, and the friendship that built slowly between Cal, and Stormy.
Cal was driving in a snow storm when he spots something white blowing in the wind, from the ditch. He pulls over to find a beautiful lady dressed in a wedding gown. It was the Vail that had been blowing in the wind. The lady had no memory, so he named her Stormy.
I loved how her memory came back slowly adding to the suspense of the story. Two men with Russian accents was after her, but she had no idea why. From the clues I thought she was a private investigator. I was close. I won't ruin it for you.
I loved how Cal, and Stormy worked together. Her memory came back one memory at a time. They worked with each memory, as a clue, working to figure it all out. It was like they were working on a puzzle sliding one piece into place at a time. I loved how Protective Cal was of Stormy. He had been a Navy Seal, and was able to get out of sticky situations. Stormy was also able to handle her own most of the time. She did not act like damsel in distress. I really liked that about her.
Great book.

I received this book for free at RT16.

I give this book a 3.5 and rounded it up to four because it's better than most books in this category.

Cal, a former navy SEAL, finds "Stormy" in a snowbank on the side of the road wearing a wedding dress and having rope burns on her wrists. Stormy has amnesia from hitting a fencepost when she fell into the snow and doesn't know how she got there or anything about herself. She asks Cal to drop her off at a motel so she can rest and hopefully get her memory back. He does, but as he's leaving two men come into the lobby with a photo of Stormy and a story about her being their cousin. Cal goes back to her room to help her and so the story starts.

I liked the plot and was interested in Stormy's unfolding background. Cal is a great non-sexist hero and I enjoyed his character as well.

After spending years serving as a Navy SEAL Cal is ready to come home to his small Missouri town, determined to drive through a snow storm to get there. What he doesn't expect is to find a woman in a wedding dress lying on the side of the road in the snow. After making sure she is safe, it doesn't take long for Cal to realize she has no idea who she is or where she came from. Quickly nicknaming her Stormy Cal is ready to do whatever he can to keep her safe. Including hiding her from some mysterious men tracking her through the back-roads and woods. Can Stormy regain her memories in time to help stop the tragedy she can feeling sneaking up on her or will she be left in limbo with no real identify? A very sweet read with a great mystery. I didn't quite feel the connection between Cal and Stormy but I did enjoy the mystery they uncovered and the pacing throughout the story. Fun read!

Another Return to Ravesville story, this one focuses on Cal Hollister as he returns home to confront his brother, Chance, and to get straight with him after too many years of guilt. Also in the story is a woman he finds in the snow wearing a bridal gown. She doesn't know who she is or why she is there, but as they work together to keep her safe from a quartet of men who are after her, hints about who she is gradually come about, even as Cal begins to understand and accept why he did what he did years earlier.

Clear storyline, interesting premise. Good pacing. A little too "Thanks so much for serving, Navy SEALS are the best ever" for me, especially considering that the simpering heroine is supposed to be an FBI agent.
I also was irritated with the overt sexuality. It detracted from the plot and seemed staged. I don't mind romance, but keeping it classy, flickering candle scenes are more my style.
This writer has talent, and I hope she gets a real job writing real books that aren't quite as sleazy someday.

Former Navy SEAL returning to his hometown runs into freak snowstorm and discovers an unconscious woman wearing a wedding gown (and no shoes) on the side of the road. Heroine has amnesia and when hired goons show up looking for her - she and the hero partner up to solve the mystery of who she is, and what the heck is going on.

The suspense is good and I loved the "waking up in a wedding dress with amnesia" angle. The romance is really thin however - with the story taking place in less than a week's time and the hero proposing marriage at the end (really? Not only have you only known her less than a week - SHE HAD AMNESIA!!!). Anyway - the suspense does a good job of making up the romance shortcomings, but it all kind of deflates at the end. I found the explanation of the wedding dress super weak.

It was OK and passed the time while I was traveling.

Agent BrideI enjoyed the mystery of the girl with amnesia and the hunky military man. The story kept you guessing and I liked the chemistry between Stormy and Chad. The love thing moved really fast but I understand that is a shorter story and all must be solved by the end. T want to thank Beverly Long for the opportunity to read this book and will look forward to others in the future

This book was good. Better than the first. But I have given it less rating bcos they both fell in love within 2 days and planned to get married. I don't understand what's the rush. The author can leave it with them starting something new or maybe exploring more about each other. I mean the heroine had amnesia ,the hero knew next to nothing about her and still he fell in love with her and even proposed to her. Couldn't really digest that.

This is another book in the series Return to Ravesville and it was a grand slam for me. I was so so happy that the author sent me this book to read and I didn't want it to end as it was such a page turner. It included all of the ingredients suspense, mystery, romance that I enjoy in a book.
