Lone Wolf Lawman by Delores Fossen is a 2015 Harlequin Intrigue publication.

I received this book from Harlequin as part of their ‘Ambassador’ program, which was very exciting, and I felt honored to have been a participant in such a generous promotion.

Addie Crockett has had a few major shocks come her way in quick succession. First, she discovers her biological father is a serial killer. Secondly, the Texas Rancher working undercover, who was trying to catch him, took advantage of Addie’s vulnerability, which had consequences. Now, three months later, Weston Cade, the man who broke her heart, is back, hoping to keep Addie from becoming the “Moonlight Stranglers” next victim.

The idea of finding out one’s birth father is a serial killer was intriguing to me, and so after reading the blurb/synopsis, I was eager to see where this might lead.

However, the story got off to a rocky start. This is a first in a series novel, but the way it started off, I’d have sworn it was part of an ongoing storyline.

I think Addie’s story, leading up to the discovery that she was the daughter of a killer, the way she met Wade, describing the intensity of their affair, and the full explanation of how he left her, would have made a great first installment for this series and this story would have been terrific as the followup.

As it was, I never felt the chemistry between Weston and Addie, and for the most part the romance was as flat as a pancake.

The testosterone in this story was also a tad over the top with Weston and Addie’s brothers surrounding her and pulling the protection card at every turn, pushing and shoving her around and ordering her this way and that. Addie’s character was swallowed up, and she came off as being a little too sheltered and obedient.

The action is plentiful, with a lot going on, but it did at least keep the story moving at nice clip and works to keep readers engaged and involved.

The serial killer angle was not resolved and apparently one must read the subsequent installments before learning who he is. This was pretty disappointing to me, especially since I’m not sure I want to invest more time in this series.

However, on a brighter note, the happy ever after portion of the conclusion was very nice, done with a touch of humor, and did make me smile. So, at least the story closed on a positive tone, and was really very sweet.

Overall, this is a quick, easy to read story. It’s not great, but it might be just the ticket if your are in need of a light escape read or palette cleanser.

I received this book for free from Harlequin.

Wow. This book was just full of surprises. I didn’t expect this to be this good. I was hooked from the very beginning.

The story was so fast paced and there were so many twists and turns. Pretty much every chapter had some major bombshell thrown in. The only things I didn’t like was that it was a bit unrealistic and

Side note: The whole serial killer thing kind of reminded me of the Black Hood from Riverdale.

Good book with lots of action. Addie recently discovered that her biological father is a serial killer, something that has turned her life upside down. Three months earlier, right after she found out, she had a one night stand with a rodeo cowboy and is now pregnant with his baby. Then that same cowboy breaks into her house and she finds out that he's not a cowboy, he's a Texas Ranger. He's determined to catch the killer, and she's his only link.

Wes hadn't planned to sleep with Addie that night, just get to know her a little and find out what she might know about her father. Instead, the immediate attraction that he felt for her took over and things got out of hand. He left, and didn't contact her again because he felt guilty about lying to her and had received letters threatening death if he contacted her. Now he's back because she is in danger, too. He's ready to use her as bait, until he finds out about the baby, then protection is the first thing on his mind.

Wes barely finishes his explanations before the first attack comes. From there on the action is nonstop as the killer focuses on getting rid of Addie. As she hadn't seen her father since she was three years old and had no memory of him, she didn't know why he was after her. But after trying hypnosis to recover something from the past, it becomes obvious he is afraid of what she might remember. No one has ever seen his face, and all they have is DNA to identify him. As Addie, Wes and the others follow various clues to find out who he is, the attacks continue and intensify. There are multiple suspects and each one seems to have an equal chance of being the one. Another attacker shows up with a surprising connection to Addie, and no one is sure exactly what his motives are. There are several twists and turns before the final confrontation comes, including another law enforcement officer with a personal reason to find the killer. The final confrontation was intense, with multiple players. Some questions get answered by the end, but others are left hanging, waiting for the next books in the series.

The relationship between Wes and Addie moved fast because of the baby and the danger. Being with each other constantly gave them the chance to get to know each other and the attraction to grow into love. I liked the way that Wes was sensitive to Addie's inner turmoil and helped her cope with her feelings about it. Wes knew that he wanted to stay involved with Addie and the baby, but his true feelings didn't hit him until the end. I loved the scene in the sheriff's office when he finally accepted the truth. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them in the later books.

I don't expect much from a Harlequin book but this one just rubbed me the wrong way.

A called B to tell B and C that D called A about a call D got from E and F.

Phone calls- that's a third of the book (the root word 'call' is used over 125 times in the book) and how the plot is pushed forward in this "mystery thriller romance." The real mystery is how this book managed to get so many 4 and 5 star reviews.

Other than the phone calls, another third of the book is dedicated to the myriad of characters asking each other (but mostly Addie) if they are okay and answering each other with the 'routine lie' (actually what it is called in the book) that they are okay.

You okay?” Jax asked, his gaze nailed to Addie.

“No, she’s not,” Weston answered for her. “I’m taking her to the break room.” There was a cot back there, and maybe she could get some rest.

“I’m okay, really,” she insisted.

That was partly true.

“Convince me you’re okay,” Weston challenged. She kissed him.

“Not very convincing,” he grumbled. “The kiss doesn’t prove you’re okay.

These are actual lines from the book. I can't make this stuff up.

The other third of the book is equally divided between guns and romance. The guns were pretty good. Kind of exciting.

Pathetic romance though.

The romance aspect of it is more about the 'broken heart' the 33 year old Addie has about a 3 night (knocking up) stand she has with West, a stranger she slept with the night they met. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with sleeping with a person you just met, but it doesn't leave any mature adult with a broken heart or, as Addie describes herself, 'crushed into a million little pieces.' Addie, sure he is a jerk who lied to and manipulated you 3 months ago, but you are the one sucking face with him within a few hours of seeing him again, even though you just found out that he lied to and manipulated you. Addie, someone has to say it- you are weak, dramatic and indulged.

The only women in this book are either dead, about to be dead or poor, 'broken hearted' Mary Sue Addie. Protected by 4 adoptive brothers, protected by the twin brother (who doesn't even know her until about half way through the book and meets her twice), protected by lotsa other official lawtype men, They spend a lot of time pushing Addie down, you know, to protect the baby her from bullets. No female police officers or FBI agents or Rangers or Marshals or ranch hands or other useful characters in Appaloosa. Just Sueful victims. Oh, and Addie's mom. Ok, there is the token female hypnosis doctor too. She's useful in the the one whole page she appears on. I swear.

Addie is a couple of months pregnant so its the perfect excuse for why she is too shaky to walk on her own and tends to tip over a lot and needs to be picked up or caught on the way down or helped to sit on the nearest chair or bed. And sure, at any other time, the 33 year old would NEVER let her brothers or lying, manipulative face-sucking partner make decisions for her or talk to her like they own her or like she is a helpless child or like she doesn't have a mind of her own, but 'extenuating circumstance' excuses for EVERY instance when it happens in the book. And it happens a lot. She is just too tired to argue, they have her best interests at heart, she is pregnant with the lying manipulator's baby so he has an excuse to be overbearing etc. These brothers and West can't even be harmonious in lording over Addie. There is so much brotherly glaring at West when he touches Addie, I'm wondering how these bros let her escape long enough to get knocked up in the first place.

Now you may be thinking, 'Give the book a break. It probably came out in the 80's or 90's.' Think again. It was published in 2015. You may also be thinking, 'What's the big deal? Every book targeting grown women as an audience has this kind of macho, possessive harem of males crowding and infantilising the female lead.' Alas, you are right. (On that note- please do let me know if anyone has some good suggestions of books with kick-ass leading ladies who aren't coddled through life by their owners significant others.)

I wish I could get back the couple of hours I spent reading this dumpster fire. As to why I persisted? I wanted to find out about the serial killer- the only marginally interesting part of this book. Buuuuut no.

This is a very interesting read and is going to be an outstanding series as the author takes you on the hunt for a serial killer. This is full of twists and turns as the author grabs your attention and doesn’t let it go. It is full of mystery not only of who the killer is but why others are dying and who is hiding secrets and for what reason. Someone wants Addie dead she is being hunt down and shot at for the secrets she may hold to what happen many years ago. If these things are found out it could harm people and their careers. As more people end up dead and letters sent is there a copy cat of is the serial killer still out there killing? The chase is on to find the answers before Addie and her unborn child are killed.

Addie is a lovely headstrong woman who just found out that her true father is a killer and might be out to kill her. Weston will have his hands full keeping her alive as he tries his best to keep his hand off her. One night is not going to be enough to get this hot blooded women out of his mind. He breaks into her home after months of last being with her only to find out he will be a father soon. Their one nightstand has made a new life. Not only does he have to keep her alive but he will have to win her heart after the way he left her. He has a few secrets of his own that he must clear up which doesn’t make him look very well. At every turn there seems to be bullets flying and more people mixed up in the mess than just her father. Weston will also have to not only win over Addie but her family as he tries to keep one step ahead of the killer. I really like Weston he is strong, he has his own reasons for wanting to find this serial killer. Now with Addie expecting just adds more to the list of reasons why this man must be found.

Addie isn’t having nothing to do with Weston it was a shock to find out he lied about his name. That he used her to get answers she didn’t have in return putting her in danger. She finds this is a big mystery with answers she might not want to find out. Not knowing who you are and where you came from with no memory of before you were found in the woods is trying enough. But to find out your true father is a serial killer and wants you dead is just mind blowing. Now with Weston back in her life trying to keep her safe she doesn’t know where or who to turn to. As the killer closes in she finds herself in Weston’s arm trying to find comfort as she finds more questions than answers.

This author gives you a wonderful plot with so many twists that will blow your mind. Just as you work out one detail she throws you a curve you do not see coming. This is one story that has lots of action, suspense and thrills along with a few love scenes as she turns up the heat for Addie and Weston. You the read will not be sure who you can trust or which way to turn. At times the story is a little slow but it doesn’t take long for the author to get your heart pumping again with new mystery of not only who the serial killer is but who is really after Addie. It is going to be interesting to find out all the secrets as this serial unfolds. I am really looking forward to the next read from this author.

Holy Whiplash Batman! The action in this story rushed at me so fast and furious that I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to keep up with the goings on. Delores Fossen is an expert at writing stories with lots of action and suspense. She sure doesn't hold back on any of that in her latest treat for her readers, Lone Wolf Lawman (Appaloosa Pass Ranch #1).

We are introduced to the hero and heroine at the beginning of the story by witnessing a rather terse reunion between Addie Crockett and Weston Cade. Addie confronts Weston with questions about his sudden reappearance after spending three nights together and then disappearing. Weston has a logical explanation but will Addie buy it? Weston gave Addie a fake name when they first met and now claims to be a Texas Ranger there to protect her. How will their earlier interaction affect the dangerous situation happening now?

Addie, who was found wandering alone and was adopted by the Crocketts previously discovered that her birth father is a serial killer nicknamed the Moonlight Strangler. Is he the cause of all the danger and turmoil disrupting her life now? Why is Weston back in her life? Does he really want to protect her? All these questions and more will be answered when you read Lone Wolf Lawman.

I love Delores Fossen's writing style. She always gifts her readers with thrilling suspense and lots of action. She always keeps you guessing until the very end. I hope all of you will grab a copy of Lone Wolf Lawman and treat yourself to a truly super read.

3.5 Stars!!

Lone Wolf Lawman is the first book in the new Appaloosa Pass Ranch series. The series is off to a great start, the characters are interesting and there's a great plot that's full of twists, turns, danger, and romance.

The story focuses around Addie, who has only recently discovered that she is pregnant by the man who seduced her and then disappeared. Later she learns she doesn't even know his real name, and then she is told her biological father is psychotic serial killer from the man who seduced her. With the help of her supportive adoptive family, she is making the best of it until Wes, her former lover, shows up out of the blue with the news that her biological father wants her dead.

He then reveals to Addie his real name and confesses that he's a Texas Ranger. He then informs her of his plan to capture her biological father....using her as bait. The only problem is that he has no idea she's pregnant with his child. When Addie's overprotective law enforcement brothers get involved, things get pretty interesting.

Addie and Wes get there HEA, but their are a few loose ends left dangling to continue the series. I really enjoyed Addie's brothers and look forward to their stories.

I have to admit that my experience of this book was colored by the narrator. I've never listened to one of these before, but I love audiobooks in general, so when I had the chance to hear this one essentially free, I gave it a try. The book takes place in Texas, and the narrator used such thick accents for some of the main characters that they sounded like hillbillies - not educated professionals. Also, one of the men sounds exactly like a woman I know from West Tennessee, so I suspect the accent isn't very Texan. Really, it would be better if narrators just added a little twang here and there and didn't try to layer it on so thick.

Allowing for that I tried very hard to like this book anyway. But I ended up finding it highly amusing rather than exciting or puzzling. The problem is that all the cops, Texas Rangers and other "professionals" were like the old Keystone Cops. Everything they tried went wrong. Prisoners escaped, witnesses disappeared, safe houses got attacked - they were plainly incompetent. It didn't help that most of them were related to our heroine/victim. If they cared about her they did a lousy job of taking care of her; bullets and bombs flew around her in just about every chapter.

Then there's the problem of the bad guy. For one thing, there are too many potential killers running around and it just made things confusing. Worse,

If you're reading this for the MCs relationship, don't bother. It's dry and dull; even though they hop into bed a couple of times I never felt they had any attachment. And be warned, reader, you don't find the identity of the Midnight Strangler till book 6. If for some reason you want to know.

This author has published a number of books and I've tried two. One I couldn't finish and this one wasn't much better. So I think I'd have to say she doesn't write the kind of books I enjoy reading.

He has come back and he when to warn Angie that the Moonlight Strangler may be after her and want her as his next victim.Who is Moonlight Strangler? Who wants Addie dead. There is the twist and turns throughout this page-turner. Once you get started you are pulled in.Who is after her and Weston? Delores Fossen plot is great, She tells the story like no other romance to a point that it has action throughout the story plot. There a surprise that Addie tells Weston? This brings in the sheriff and Addie family and you will find that there are more surprises and twisted along the way. You will not be disappointed and you will be surprised at how it ends.

This was the first book I've read by Delores Fossen and I really enjoyed it. I don't usually read romantic suspense that often, but it got my attention and kept my attention. I started out with a somewhat hidden pregnancy and a serial killer all in about the first 15 pages or so! Okay, here we go! There's all sorts of stuff going on in this book! If you like action and suspense, this is definitely one you should try. I will be sure to try more from Ms. Fossen.

I enjoyed this author's Sweetwater Ranch series, so when I found this book on Net Galley, I immediately requested a copy for review. The story focuses around Addie who has not only discovered recently that she is the biological daughter of a serial killer but had also found out she is pregnant by the man who seduced get for there glorious nights then left her without even his real name. With the help of her family, she is making the best of it until Wes, her former lover, shows up out of the blue with the news that her biological father wants to kill her. He reveals his real name and his position with the Texas Rangers then shares his plan to use get as bait to draw her father out. The only problem is that he has no idea she carries his child. When the danger picks up and you throw in a few of Addie's overprotective law enforcement type brothers, things get pretty interesting. The story had plenty of action, suspense, and twists. While the couple from this story gets a resolution, a few loose threads are left dangling to continue the series. I really enjoyed Addie's brothers and can't wait to read their stories.

This book was really well written, and holy crap did this book take you for a ride. I loved that this book had so many twists and turns, and how it evolved throughout the whole book. Weston is a badass guy who lied to the one person who he thought he could settle with in his search for justice. Addie is the daughter of the moonlight killer who murdered many, including someone important to Weston. When these two met, their lives erupted. The first time, a baby was created. The second time, they ran from those who wish them dead. These two were great characters who allthough pigheaded would do anything for those they count to be theirs to protect.
I loved this book, and I really appreciated the writing style. If you like books with a mystery and a bit of romance thrown into the mix with many twists and turns then this book is definitely for you.
P.S this book has sexual content.

Lone Wolf Lawman by Delores Fossen – I have become a fan of several of Harlequin Intrigue books and authors. Delores Fossen is one of the authors. Lone Wolf Lawman is the first book in the new Appaloosa Pass Ranch series. The series is off to a great start. The characters are interesting, the back story is worked into the story line and the plot is full of twists and turns. Along with the danger there is a nice romance. One couple finds their HEA while others are in the backgound waiting their turn.

Lone Wolf Lawman by Delores Fossen is a wonderful romantic intrigue story. I loved the characters! They were easy to understand, like,  and had me cheering for them. The bad guys were believable too. My only complaint was how fast a character appeared and then, just as quickly disappeared without knowing what happened to him. That part is driving me nuts. At first, I thought, well maybe, I went through the book too fast. So, I went back and still couldn't find him...I wanted to cry out in frustration. That was just plain mean to tease me with that character. He was planning to use himself as bait and that's the last I read about him...

Okay, so the main characters were really great. First, there is Addie. She finds out that she is a serial killer's daughter. Wow! I can't imagine what I would do, if that were me. Then, about that same time she finds that out...a man appears in her life. His plan was to find out what she knew of her dad. Apparently, she may hold memories that could identify her father. This same man ended up changing Addie's life. Addie is in real danger from a bunch of criminals...and they might have been hired by her serial killer father.

Second, there is Weston Cade. He is a Texas Ranger. However, he leads Addie to believe he's just a normal cowboy hanging around...what he didn't plan on doing was making love to her. Yet, he did not once but many times. Something about her has him stuck by her side. Yet, he disappears from her not too soon after their love making. Addie then, hates him and so does her adoptive brothers. Jax and Jericho. These brothers are also lawmen.

Lone Wolf Lawman is sexy, haunting, and suspenseful. I enjoyed reading this book. Delores Fossen has proven that she can indeed write a stunning tale. I got lost within the first chapter. A journey about a young pregnant woman being targeted for reasons not sure of, and her past lover comes to her rescue. Then, there's the twists and turns that pop up, keeping readers like myself guessing who and why. The sole focus is keeping Addie alive and catching the bad guys, especially her father. This piece of fiction left me with a taste for more of these characters. I can't wait to see what the rest of this series holds. Overall, I highly recommend it to readers everywhere.

I received this copy from Harlequin. This, is my voluntary review.

Intriguing premise, but the execution didn’t work for me, this is best suited to readers who favor action over character.

Addie’s three night stand of months earlier, Weston, shows up at her home claiming someone is trying to kill her, that someone just might be Addie’s biological dad, a yet to be identified serial killer.

There’s quite a number of shootouts in this book, and I did think they were solidly written, although I questioned why they transported Addie as often as they did, if you are an action fan this certainly delivers in that area.

The suspense was decent, there are a few viable suspects, however, in the end the motivation felt pretty weak to me, plus a major question goes unanswered so the ending isn’t particularly satisfying.

I didn’t find the romance particularly satisfying either. Weston violated Addie’s trust in numerous ways yet she quickly and easily moved on. I realize there were extenuating circumstances, she’s afraid for her life, he’s skilled, he can protect her, but the story and the romance suffered for her not holding more of a grudge, the emotional tension between them evaporated far too quickly. I felt like I went away from this knowing nothing about their relationship, what it is they like about one another, let alone love, other than they’re both so into each other physically that they won’t let a little thing like people shooting at Addie every other minute get in the way.

Ultimately, I felt like so much more could have been done with the characters. I wanted more of who Addie is, what makes her unique, and the emotional toll of her father being a serial killer, maybe see her lose her temper, or actually be the one to fight back at some point (instead of just the guys), so maybe she questions herself, questions what she’s capable of considering her genes, just something to make her a bit more interesting would have been welcome. Same goes for the guys, especially the good guys, other than one being her lover and many of the others being her brothers, none of them had much in the way of distinguishing traits, they were simply all protective of Addie and ready to glare at any interloper, but there isn’t all that much to say about any of them personality-wise, including Weston.

I received this book for free through the publisher’s book ambassador program.

Suspenseful, action and romance rolled into one.

This is the first installment in the Appaloosa Pass Ranch series and I have to say that I loved it and I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. This book had everything that I love in a story. This was a true page turner. I wanted to know who was trying to kill Addie. Her story was very sad and she was able to learn a lot about her family history.

Addie and Weston had a wonderful three days but then he disappeared and now he is back in her life. He is trying to keep her safe but he is also going to learn a new truth. It will shock him but at the same time all those feelings that he had for her came rushing back to him but not only him it happened to her too. They have this instant connection and I’m hoping that in the end they will have their happily ever after. Addie and Weston are going to have to run and hide in order for her to stay safe but that doesn’t mean that it will stay that way. Secrets are going to be revealed and her brothers are going to have jealously in their eyes. But no matter what she loves them even though they are not blood related. There are so many suspects that can be the serial killer aka her father. But in the end will they be able to catch him or will he still be out there somewhere killing people.

Lone Wolf Lawman was an excellent read. I love Ms. Fossen’s writing it is creative and it just flows perfectly. The chemistry between Addie and Weston was sensual. They were meant to be together no matter what.

I totally recommend this read!!

I have enjoyed stories by Delores Fossen in the past, but there was very little about this book that I enjoyed. Lone Wolf Lawman was a Holiday Freebie given by Harlequin Books designed for readers to start Book Clubs. I am embarrassed and sad that I gave the free books to family and friends. I knew within 25 pages this book would not be for me as the backstory buildup was OMG, seriously, and I had to warn my Mother and Friend not to read it, because they would be horrified and confused after the first few pages.

I do however appreciate I had received the book for free, so I persevered and finished it. It had the strangest meet and greet ever, that created instant dislike of the Hero and laid out his cruel and selfish motivations. While I realize this was a Suspense/Intrigue novel, there was no cleverness or finesse in the plot, just fear followed by violence, followed by more violence and then additional fearful situations and more violence, and oh yes and the annoying 'oopsy-baby' storyline, etc. I can't believe she did not miscarry based on all the stress and rough physical situations she endured.

There was no romance, just ‘Danger sex’ between a couple who barely knew each other, with others just outside the room, as they moved from one dangerous situation to another. Still not sure I fully understand why all the killings occurred by several murderers.

The only thing I enjoyed in the story was the caring, protective relationship between the Heroine and her brothers. Final Rating: 1 Star, Toasted from my Ebook Library.

This was my first Delores Fossen book but will by no means be my last. This was a romantic suspense, heavy on the suspense. The action starts on page one and doesn't let up until the end. (A true page-turner!) Weston Cade shows up unexpectedly (and not very welcome) to warn and protect Addie against a serial killer who has his sights set on her. Unfortunately, Weston and Addie first met 3 months ago, when they had a heat-filled 3 days and Weston then disappeared. Both are obviously quite attracted to the other, but neither wants to be. And to complicate matters, their earlier dalliance has resulted in a pregnancy. Weston is determined to save Addie and his child. Weston and Addie don't have days or even hours to contemplate their feelings or develop a relationship. Rather, they grab minutes here and there between the action sequences and trying to figure out who is really behind the attacks and why. Addie doesn't want to be attracted to Weston (he hurt her once and she's not eager to repeat it) but for the sake of her child, is trying to separate the lies from the truth. Altogether, a satisfying romance that kept me on the edge of my seat trying to solve the mystery along with Weston and Addie (and her law enforcement siblings).

I received five copies of this book free to share with my friends and this I will do. This was the first book I have read by Delores Fosson and it will not be my last. This was a very interesting story but there was so much going on that if it had been filled out a little more, it would have been a longer book. The story was about a young girl who had been adopted when she was three by a family with four boys. They took good care of Addie but when she got pregnant and they did not know who the father was, they became strong protectors of her. When Weston Cade showed up to try to protect Addie from a murderer, he finds out that she was having his child and her family were all law enforcement guys. Still he wanted to protect her and this is where the story gets interesting. Can he take care of her without her brothers killing him for not being there for their sister for the first three months?

This book was almost a DNF for me. The heroine is dumb. The hero, as a law enforcement officer, is dumb. Honestly, all of the law enforcement here is portrayed as so stupid, it hurt my head. And we don’t even catch the Moonlight Strangler killer, which was why I pushed to finish the book. I get that this book is the first in a series, but there were so many plot holes and unanswered questions that made the end of the book entirely unsatisfying.

Worse, the romance felt completely unrealistic between the two mains. I just never felt it. Sexual tension, sure, I guess, since we’re told that’s what’s happening enough. But the love must have been established in that 3 day bang that we didn’t get to see. So what was the point?

Even the the sex was boring.

Would not recommend.

The book was given to me for free by Harlequin.

Overall I enjoyed Lone Wolf Lawman. I thought the story was well paced, and had a lot of action. My one issue was there were so many characters and names, it was hard to keep them all straight.

Texas Ranger Weston Cade seeks out Addie Crockett when she discovers she's the biological daughter of a serial killer, the Moonlight Strangler. That meeting results in Weston not only lying to her about who he is but also results in Addie pregnant. Three months later Wes is back to protect her. You learn all of this in the first chapter which sets up the story nicely. Through twists and turns, they discover the attraction between them hasn't faded, though at first Addie isn't ready to simply turn her heart over to him. But Wes is determined to be there for her, to discover who is trying to kill Addie, and to win her heart.

Lone Wolf Lawman (Appaloosa Pass Ranch #1) by Delores Fossen

This book caught me on the first page and kept me going. I did not want to stop reading it. I tend to really like suspense type of books, but not many get me from page one. I do think that it could have been awesome if this book had started out when Addie and Wes first met - after her doing hypnosis the first time, as I feel like that could have helped with the backstory and it was certainly relevant. This book has suspense, and romance so it should appeal to many people. The premise is Addie recently found out her biological dad is a serial killer. Since this is the first in a series, I look forward to reading the rest. This is my first book by Delores Fossen, but it certainly will not be my last.

I only got through 4 chapters of this audio book. I just couldnt do it. The writing seemed to be done by an amateur. It felt choppy and stilted. The heroine Addie is so mad at Weston and I get it to a degree. He took advantage of her but at the time she didn't know that he was lying about who he was. She's the one that slept with him right of the bat and then shes shocked when he leaves. Really?!?! It was a 1 night (well 2 night stand) and what she expected a happily ever after? Maybe get to know a guy before you sleep with him then your anger can be justified. And the narrator's fake southern draw (especially for Weston) drove me NUTS! The combination of this made me stop the book. I have to many on my to read book list and I just figured this would be a mediocre book.

WOW! What a great story. I mean every time you think you know what's happening, the story surprises you with another twist. I can't wait to read more about the Crockett family and catch up with all the characters in the next book. I'm not a total fan of the narrator but, since I've already read the book of this story and liked it, I was able to soldier through and listen to the whole story. My main tiff with the narrator was her choice of voices for the character and the staccato way all the male characters spoke. Other than that, it was a great read/listen.

I bought this book in a thrift store with a friend in Montreal. I honestly thought it looked a bit silly but thought it could be a fun and easy holiday read. I’ve never really read this genre before.

I ended up not being able to put this book down and I will forever remember walking along a metro station platform reading when really I should have looked where I was going. It was cheesy and romantic and the story ended anticlimactically but in all, I enjoyed it and I wished it had been longer.

I've never read this author before, but I received this book as a free gift from Harlequin so I wanted to give it a try. I'm glad I did! It's very fast paced, with lots of twists, and it kept me guessing. I feel like there were a few loose ends/mysteries though at the end, but hopefully they'll be addressed in the next book. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would and it really kept my attention.

Delores Fossen writes and intense and action packed suspense story. Lone Wolf Lawman is also a second chance romance and unexpected pregnancy. The Moonlight Strangler is the biological father of the heroine Addie Crockett and Weston Cade is a Texas Ranger trying to arrest him. He fears that the Strangler intends that his daughter be his next victim. Finding out she is pregnant with his child complicates his plan to use her as bait. This was a page turner of a story.
