Fighting for Forever

Rate this book
The fight could kill us both. But if we win, forever is the prize…

Trix

People only see what I want them to see.

Slut. Hooker. Whore.

Their opinions mean nothing. Only one thing matters.

Revenge.

I will find the man who killed my sister, and I will avenge her. Nothing will stand in my way.

Not even a grumpy, sexy, surfer-looking MMA fighter who seems determined to make me do something unbelievably stupid.

Like falling for him…

Mason

I hate Vegas.

It’s full of people who are loose with their bodies and morals. People like Trix.

The lilac-eyed stripper is the last woman I should want. Especially when I need to focus on saving my brother from whatever disaster he’s created for himself.

There’s something about her that keeps pulling me in, though. Keeps me wanting more.

But I had no way of knowing that being with her could only end one of two ways.

In happily ever after…or utter devastation…

Fighting For Forever, book 6 in the Fighting series, is an emotional, angsty, contemporary, steamy, sports romance with a guaranteed HEA. Download today to fall for Mason and Trix.

4-4.5 Baywatch stars

 photo e8e66a5b-c276-47bc-b478-cd2da3d9ee28_zps4bn1yxwr.jpg

J.B. Salsbury’s ‘Fighting’ series has been one I’ve loved since the very beginning. There hasn’t been a bad book for me in the bunch. I love these fighters and the love they have for their women. I love how the heroines are tough in their own right and give their men their all without sacrificing who they are. Ever since reading the last book, I’ve been dying to get a Mason (aka Baywatch book). This guy deserves his own happy ending. I didn’t think he would find it with a dancer named Trix, but hey… ;)

Mason is the nice guy, the good guy. He’s the friend who will help anyone and the man who treats women well. Aka- the guy who doesn’t get the girl.

 photo f2b77e3a-54c1-4a68-97fe-0edf98a385b1_zpsgcxtyqv8.jpg

Trix is a dancer at Zeus. She never thought her life would take this path, but every decision Trix has made since her sister died has been calculated. She does what she does for a reason. Then she meets someone that takes her life so off course, she doesn’t know what to do. Mason. Mason is a blond haired fighter. He’s kind. He’s considerate. He’s sweet and he sees under Trix’s stripper facade and sees the real her. Trix and Mason fall for one another and they fall hard. Mase is just the guy Trix needs and Mason can’t get enough of this girl.

Trix’s fight for revenge mixed with Mase’s family issues collide to point that had me holding my breath and crossing my fingers that everything would work out… this couple doesn't have an easy go. Their love story isn't simple, but it's beautiful.

Trix and Mason’s story had me on the edge of my seat more than once. I love how JB Salsbury can always mix in so much intensity, drama and even some suspense, yet still keeps the romance the focus. This series is one of my favorites and this is a fantastic addition. I adored both of the main characters (even though Trix did peeve me off towards the end, I understood where she was coming from) and it’s always fantastic to catch up with some of our other favorites. The very ending pulled on my heart strings big time and left me in tears. Love these books and I can’t wait for the next installment!

5 BAYWATCH IS ENDGAME STARS

Trix and Mase .. ♥

You don't have it in you to be a full-time jerk.
Part-time? Maybe. You're a good guy at heart."

description

How's your ass after our last run in? Better?"
Yeah, Mason. Why wouldn't it be? I barely felt it."

description

Am I worth it? Maybe not, but we're worth it.

So it all began at 5 AM .. just when I was ready to call it a night I saw that Fighting for Forever was released and then I was like SLEEP? (PSSSSSH OVERRATED IF YOU ASK ME). Was it worth it? H*LL TO THE YES. MY GOD. J.B. Salsbury has kept me C-A-P-T-I-V-A-T-E-D from beginning to END! I've loved ALL the novels in the series however this is definitely in my top 3 following Fighting to Forget and Fighting the Fall ♥ ♥. Through out the series I always was anticipating BAYWATCH formerly known as Mase .. he's f*cking hilarious and it's so adorable when he tries to be a jerk but fails MISERABLY because he's such an incredible man *SWOON*. As for Trix .. a stripper? #AsIf .. she's SO SO much more than that. Seriously I feel a #GirlCrush coming on .. what an incredible sister bear, woman, and ! Their chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS and the banter between them left me in hysterics. The novel was not long nor short .. it was just right PERFECT. I HIGHLY recommend this series as every novel is unique and remarkable in it's own way.

You came and breathed new life
Into this lonely heart of mine ..►♫

4 LOVE me Surfer Girl Stars!

"You’ve got me. Whether you should or not, you have me, baby."-Mason

Everytime I dive into a J.B. Salsbury book I know I am in for a treat. Every single edition from the Fighting Series has left me wanting more. The characters are well developed and deeply entrenched in each other's lives. The splendid concoction of beautiful fighters, their sexy sidekicks, and the Las Vegas Strip as their backdrop, Ms. Salsbury "brings it" every single time.

Mason is a UFL fighter who has given up on women. In the fourth book of the series (Fighting the Fall), we watched Mason get his heart broken by Eve (who fell in love with Mason's boss Cameron). Although it is evident to everyone that Eve and Cameron are much better suited for each other, Mason can't help but feel regret and frustration about his inability to find "that someone". Mason is a bit of a "cry baby". He is easily frustrated and doesn't have a problem with throwing the occasional temper tantrum. Mason's half brother is a world of trouble and when he swings into town, things get very complicated! Little does Mason know that the girl of his dreams is about to smack right into him (literally) and his entire perception on life is going to change.

description

"This world of dating and romance and happily ever after isn’t mine to have. I’m a stripper. I’m the woman from a married man’s past— the other woman, the temptation— and I’m staring boldly at my reality."-Trix

Trix is known around town as a stripper and a whore. Although she comes from a religious family, she has been living "a life of sin" in order to solve her sister's murder. Now however far out that plot line might seem, believe me it works. And, it works well! Trix is a diverse character managing her double life with grace and ease. However hardened she may appear by the life she is living, inside she is full of goodness. Trix comes from a huge family and the love for her family is truly her driving force.

description

"He’s the kind of man a girl like me doesn’t need. Or maybe the kind I don’t deserve. Not that it matters."-Trix

"She’s like a Rubik’s Cube; the more I twist her around in my head, the less she makes sense."-Mason

Mason and Trix don't have a smooth start to their relationship. Mason struggles with "the character" that Trix portrays at the strip club and with the sweet and affectionate person she is in real life. He isn't really crazy about the idea of having a stripper as a girlfriend.

description

"Her body and the honor of pleasuring it should be a prize to be won, not a tool to be passed around as she claimed the other night."-Mason

I believe his struggle to be realistic considering the circumstances. How would I feel if my boyfriend was stripping for a living? In addition to the internal conflict that Mason is experiencing, there is also the looming power struggle within Trix. She wants to find her sister's killer and yet, after she has met Mason, everything seems to be different.

Mason and Trix share a tender friendship that develops into a sensual and passionate relationship. One of my favorite memories of the courtship is when Mason and Trix spend the day with her siblings on the beach. They share a stolen moment out in the water together and I swear my heart rate when up because the sexual chemistry between the two is off the charts!

"I need him to touch me, as if I’m sinking and his touch will keep me afloat."-Trix

It was such a moving moment to witness these two different people come together. As soon as Trix decides to give up on her double life, the lead that she has been waiting for stumbles back into her life. Can Mason accept Trix even if she isn't ready to change? Will Trix be able to find closure when it comes to her sister's death?

“Every time, from our first kiss until now, my body has been yours. My heart, mind. God, Mase, it’s like my very soul has belonged to you since day one.”-Trix

description

Fighting for Forever is a book stocked to the brim with things that I love in a good read! There is a heavy hand of action, a dash of tension, some very steamy scenes, and the reminder that friends are "family". The writing style is fluid and you are easily transported into the story. The dual POV is especially helpful in this read. Had I not known what was going on in the minds of these two, I may not have believed the transformation that they both took. Towards the end of the book there was a little extra drama that I felt could have been left out, however, who am I to question perfection? There are some authors on my shelf that I know I will enjoy no matter what. J.B. Salsbury is definitely one of those authors for me. I cannot wait to see which fighter's story is up next? If you are a fan of fighter romance novels, you must read this series. Truthfully, no one writes them better.

“You gave yourself to me, and now it’s my responsibility to keep you safe. I’ll give you the choice, but if it’s not the right one, I’ll make it for you.”-Mason

Note about the series in general:
The love stories in this series are pretty good. I have enjoyed all of them.
However, the characters, both females and males, lack judgment and in some cases, intelligence. There is chauvinism here and the men are controlling and impulsive.
Despite this, the books are worth reading and thus, I'll keep following this series.

For Beatriks “Trix” Langley

How much will you go before it’s too late?

quotescover PNG 33yay

Familial bonds. Blood. Revenge. Vindication. Sacrifice. And Unexpected love.

How far is far enough? For peace? For Redemption? For being finally free?

Will sacrificing yourself, your heart and your very soul quench the pain, the turmoil, and the heartbreak?

Before it consumes and destroys you from the inside?

Or before the only light you’ve ever known is gone forever? Should she continue on her quest? Or should she let go and just live?

description I’m fighting for nothing more than a memory….At least, it never bothered me until Mason. He’s the only person who has ever made me wonder what it would be like to leave all this behind. To hang up my search of revenge and go after a life worth living. A life of honor and respect.

As for Mason “Baywatch” Mahoney, losing the girl of his dreams is not an option. You may remember him from Fighting the Fall where he courted Eve, but ultimately, lost to Cam.

Now he’s back, and will do whatever it takes, and go through all lengths and costs to ensure new ladylove Trix’s protection, her safety, and her survival through what’s she’s taking on.

description Tasting the salt of her revenge, the bitterness of the hard decisions she’s had to make, the heat of her sacrifices. I’ll be damned if I’m capable of letting her go now.

Can he save her from her own damnation? Or will she lead herself into oblivion?

Nothing transcends beyond love and family.

description For you? Always.

Fighting For Forever was much different from the other Fighting books and held its own respectively. Each installment that Ms. Salsbury creates, is far more intricate, carries more depth, and yet is interconnected with one other in one way or another.

As the sixth book in a series, it was wonderful to see past reoccurring characters still have a presence within the book and yet the story itself floats on a balance of old and new.

What with us already having met Mason, and now being introduced to Trix, each book carves and sets sail its own mix of themes, motives, and flare that holds the reader and captivates you until the very end.

I wholeheartedly loved this! It did not disappoint!♥

I really wanted to like this book. I was so intrigued to find out more about Mason after snippets of him in previous books. His feelings for Eve were so sweet and I couldn't wait for him to get his own HEA.

I won't bother rehashing the storyline of this book since many reviewers have already taken care of that.

Random thoughts:

Trix was an interesting heroine. I liked her, then she annoyed me, then I liked her again but in the end Trix drove me nuts with her "plan" to solve her sister's murder. I found myself annoyed most of the time.

 photo tumblr_l65cqytlqK1qbpcsf_zps9ce887ec.gif

Mason, while sweet, just never kept my interest. I felt like something was missing. It's hard to stay engaged with a book when I can't feel the connection between the H/h.

The upside was getting more of Blake. Even the small snippets of him and his sassy mouth was great.

As everything unfolded and all of the players started to appear, the story got so over the top that to actually commit to finishing, this was me:

LOVE this series!! Mason's story was passionate, sexy and warm.

I adore every single book that Ms. Salsbury has written and Mason’s story is no exception. He was the one who lost Eve to Cam so I was looking forward to his book. Because he has been burned in the past by women, he is very cynical with lots of sharp edges but really has a huge heart; so I was anxious for him to get his HEA.

What I love about this series is that even though there is a common fighting theme throughout, each character and each story are all very unique. None of these books are repetitive or ever lose their edge. Fighting For Forever is warm, sexy, passionate and filled with thrills. The ending was stunning and beautiful. I am seriously swooning over Mason! He will stop at nothing to protect his Trix, an exotic dancer who is trying to uncover information on her dead sister. That is all I am going to say about the plot because you should read this without any spoilers.

Mason is all sexy Alpha, but with a sweet side that was beautiful to see. He will do anything to protect Trix and help her on her quest to locate information on her sister.

“‘Love you too baby.’ Even though loving her is probably going to kill me.”

I love the boys of the Fighting series and Mason is just a dream. I absolutely adored this book and of course can’t wait to see what Ms. Salsbury has in store for us next!!

Mason, wow, what can I say. A gentle lover, he loves deep and firm, he's slow and he's attentive, he's protective and he is one hot ass man. I looked forward to 'Baywatch's' book, couldn't wait to see him finally get the girl. If you've read this series, you know these UFL men are huge, hot, and damn possessive and I love it.

I loved getting Trix, knowing her back story, and pulling for a happy ending for her. She's amazing, strong, and fights for the ones she loves. And as always in this series, I love how the characters carry on in each new book. The crossover is so smooth. This book was a great addition to the series, not my favorite, but I enjoyed!!!

4 stars!

Another great read from J.B. Salsbury , the fifth in her Fighting series as Baywatch finally gets his HEA.

Mason (aka Baywatch) is originally from California and moved to Las Vegas to be a part of the UFC. I fell for him in the last book of the series where we saw him as a potential love interest for Eve, but of course we all know how that worked out.

Women don’t like nice guys. When given a choice, they’ll always choose dudes that treat them like shit and give them something to fix.

Mason is the nice guy. He’s the fun, caring one who treats women like princesses. But now the nice guy is all bitter and angry at having lost the girl, and on top of that, his younger brother has arrived in town with his gang buddies looking to hang out, and who are obviously up to no good. Mason has spent almost his whole life bailing his brother out of trouble, and when he rocks up to his hotel room he’s expecting the worst, what he doesn’t expect is to meet his match in gorgeous stripper, Trix.

Trix was introduced earlier in the series as Gia’s roommate. She is an exotic dancer who bounces from man to man, never getting emotionally involved, and thinking nothing of it. She uses her body to make money, and she takes her pleasure wherever she wants with whoever she wants, seemingly uninterested in anything deeper than that. Her initial reasons for getting into the life are dark and devastating, but she’s lost herself along the way and now just seems to be existing in this place that she never expected to be, and completely resigned to the fact.

When Mason and Trix meet there are immediate fireworks – but not the good kind. He’s a dick to her, she bitches back, and they think that’s the end of it. They don’t expect to run into each other again and when they do, they certainly don’t expect anything to come of it, but there is a mad attraction between them that neither of them can resist and a connection quickly develops between them that is so much more meaningful than that. Mason sees so much more of Trix than she shows to the world - he sees beyond the stripper to the girl inside, he treats her with care and respect, and he makes it clear that he wants her for who she is, not what she looks like, and he sweeps her right off her feet.

Wow, I love Mase! Of course we all love a bad boy, but there’s something about this sweet, loving man who wants to open his life to somebody. He wants to love and be loved in return, and he knows how to treat a woman right, and seeing the way he sees Trix, and the way he treats her just melted me.

Her body and the honor of pleasuring it should be a prize to be won, not a tool to be passed around as she claimed the other night.

And of course Trix is powerless to resist – not that she even wants to – and a beautiful romance develops easily, naturally, and with lots of emotion.

“I want you. More than I should.”
… “You’ve got me. Whether you should or not. You have me, baby.”

But as perfect as Mason and Trix are together, their road to their HEA isn’t an easy one. Firstly there’s the issue with Trix’s job, Mason’s acceptance (or otherwise) of that, and what it means for a relationship between them. And then there’s the build-up of their personal dramas. Mase’s brother is in so much more trouble than he ever imagined – dragging both of them into a dangerous situation – and Trix’s quest for answers to the tragedy of her past and her quest for vengeance is threatening to consume her. Scary situations individually, but it all combines into an exciting, nail-biting and shocking climax that will change everything.

I loved this book. Like the others in the series, the love story is emotional, passionate and all-consuming, with drama that adds to the intensity without overwhelming it, and enough light, fun and sweet moments to make it a truly enjoyable read. I loved the involvement of Trix’s family in the story, and loved both her and Mason’s relationship with them. The other couples from the series all appear and of course I loved catching up with them, and then it all ends with an epilogue that is absolutely magic and had me tearing up at the beauty of it all.

I’m loving this series so much!!

4 stars.

Paige's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Note from DiDi: You know that sick feeling that you get when you need to do something but you really don't want to? That's how I feel posting this review, that's how Paige felt writing it. See JB Salsbury is one of the sweetest, most genuine authors out there and the Fighting series is one of our favorites....but this book didn't work for Paige. That being said Afrodyt read it and got another whole take from it her review will be posting as well.

I love this series but this was a tough book to read and finish. It seems like the author got away from how she wrote the other books. I was hoping for strong male character with an equally strong female to counter his Alpha nature.

Sadly this wasn't what I read. I thought Mason was too angry and he seemed annoyed with everyone. Heck, he was still pining for Eve even after she married Cam. The first time he met Trix I didn't feel a spark or any connection between the two. I didn't even feel a love hate relationship brewing. I thought it was odd that he had more of a spark with his ex-girlfriend which sadly she chose his brother.

I love a strong willed woman who isn't afraid to show her sexuality but I didn't care for how Trix was portrayed. I didn't mind that she was a stripper what I didn't like is that she had sex with Mason's friend, she went to private parties and danced in private rooms while dating Mason. His friends also routinely watched her strip. At times her vulnerability shows but that caused for more confusing on my part.

I understood why she is stripping but after 4 years of this lifestyle, she should have known the score and could have looked for her sisters killer someplace else.

It seemed like every cliche went into this book. Perhaps they were trying to make the storyline and the characters work but it missed the mark for me.

4 star read

This is the story of Mason (that we've met earlier in the series) and Trix. **You do not need to read the other books in the series to get what's going on since it is their story with some of the past characters for support. I haven't read all of them and I got through just fine.** Mason is a MMA fighter with the UFL and Trix is working as a stripper. They meet one night when Trix is hired for a private party that is being held by Mason's half brother. Mason is always saving his brother from trouble, and is constantly worried about him and wanting him to get out from under his no good fathers thumb. Trix is stripping even though her passion is volunteering to help kids . They keep on bumping into each other and eventually give in to their attraction and become involved romantically. With issues from Trix's choice of occupation and family issues for Mason, there is plenty of drama...but not too much.

The only criticism that I have is that Mason was ready to call her "the one" at about 40%ish. I wouldn't necessarily call it an "instalove" type story, but it seemed kinda quick. I love how Mason was damaged from previous relationships And that was what made him what Trix coined a "woman worshiper". I think that with the type of man Mason was and the type of woman Trix was (beneath the stripper persona) they were a wonderful pairing. I really enjoyed the epilogue too! Yay finally a book that has a short but worthy epilogue that gave me some closure with the h/H!! Overall a easy, suspenseful, hot, good 4 star read.

Getting an ARC for this book was like Christmas morning. And whenever the next book comes out in this series, I'll be shamefully begging for an ARC of that too LOL! I'm in love with this series, just in love!

 photo 11523895_zpsnkeg3qh2.gif

So here is my SPOILER-FREE review to let you know that you NEED TO READ THIS! And if you don't, I don't really want to talk to you anymore. Like go away. There's the door. Just kidding. Or am I?

 photo thumb_zps571edf67.gif

I started reading JB's fighting series after I finished writing my own first fighter romance (Coming out 9/29 from Random House, see Breaking a Legend) and wanted to see what else was out there. This is by far my favorite series in the fighter romance genre out there so far, and let me tell you why.

 photo ScreenShot2014-12-12at124535AM_zpsa546942e.png

1) Every damn book is connected! They are all standalone, so relax if you're a commitment phone who sees this many books in a series and panics, but reading them all together and in order is the way to go! Not only are they all connected by this same world we're privy too, but this world is amazing! Every character in this Las Vegas family, no matter how small, is dynamic and compelling. You want to know all of them. ALL of them. It's amazing.

 photo 13272344_zpsvmvzhogt.gif

2) These are MEN. These are ALPHAs. They protect their women, and love with all their hearts, but they break jaws and rules along the way. *fans self*

 photo 732494_zpsr8nrxcmn.gif

3) The writing is flawless. It just is. Maybe JB has the best editor in the world or maybe she's just my idol for LIFE, but there's almost NO issues with the spelling, grammar, etc, and I read an ARC- which normally I would expect more typos.

 photo 13274028_zpsfvx9ykxb.gif

So, with Fighting for Forever, I was NOT disappointed. All the things I loved in the past books in this series were in this one, and Mason was just such a sweet guy, but also an alpha and an ass at the same time, but in a fierce, loving, and protective way. I loved Trix right off the bat and was surprised she was the same girl from the other books, but man did it all make sense now! I'm so glad Mason got a chance to have his book, he's just the best! And I loved how big a part of the book Rex and Gia were, well all the other characters were.

“Every time, from our first kiss until now, my body has been yours. My heart, mind. God, Mase, its like my very soul has belonged to you since day one”

Fighting For Forever follows the story of Trix and Mason. People only see what they want to see. On the outside, they see Trix as nothing more than a stripper and nothing more. She’s been called every name in the book. What they don’t know is that Trix is on a mission. A mission to find out the truth of what happened to her sister, hoping that one day, she’ll have peace.

“Information is a powerful thing, especially when it brings vindication.”

Trix never felt bad about her life choices or wanted more for her self, than finding her sister’s killer, until she met Mason. Mason is the opposite of everything she knows. He shows her what it’s like to be wanted, needed. He makes her question the life she’s chosen…. Mason is fiercely protective over those in his life. However, the biggest thorn in his side, is his brother. He’s bailed his brother out of trouble so many times. No matter what he does, his brother doesn’t learn his lesson. When Mason’s brother calls on him one more time for help, that causes Trix to crash into his life. Even though she is quite possibly the most beautiful woman that Mason has ever seen, she is the epitome of everything he hates about Vegas. As much as he tries to fight it, there is just something about this woman that draws him in, causing him to fall farther than he’s ever fallen before…

When I read the blurb for this story, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. What I ended up with was a well written story that completely captivated me. Fighting For Forever pulled me in from the very first page. It started off with such a bang. I had to know more. I wanted Trix to find answers.

Trix was such a fascinating character. I loved that Trix wasn’t ashamed of her choices. Yeah, her job wasn’t the best and she used her body to get answers. But, she did what she had to do. This was a woman who is strong and independent. She loves her family and has had a tough life. She’ll do whatever it takes to get the answers that she needs and find peace.

Mason was such a strong, fierce character. He was someone you could count on and who was always there for his brother, no matter how many mistakes he made. He wasn’t the biggest fan of Trix when he first met her. I’d say it was even safe to think he hated her. But, as time went on and fate kept intervening, these two were destined to be a part of each other’s life. I loved watching the two of them together. They had such great passion, fight and their chemistry…..let’s just say I couldn’t get enough of the two of them together.

Fighting The Fall was a quick and easy read for me and takes you on one heck of a ride. The characters are entertaining and there is never a dull moment with the story-line. This story is hot, suspenseful, and captivating. The twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see how it will all play out. Fighting For Forever is a great addition to JB Salsbury’s Fighting Series.

I must admit I was totally Jonesing for this book, I was so keen to see Mase get his happy after being shredded when he realised he didn't have a chance with Eva. For the most part I enjoyed the read, but it lost its shine when Trix pulled her bloody stupid TSTL move. GAH I HATE it when that happens, I was so damn frustrated with her when she did that. When you truly love someone you put them first, like Mase did with her. Trix .... not so much. I get she wanted her vengeance but geez Louise, not at the cost of ripping Mase's heart in two and putting her life in danger. Stupid SMH.

Pet Peeve - TSTL h's.

5 "Mase is the shit stars" but am taking a star away for "Trix needs a slap upside the head."

I have loved every book that J.B. has written and was expecting no less from this one. After the last book in the series, I had a huge soft spot for Mason as he was put through the emotional ringer.

Fighting For Forever was packed full of heartfelt angst, love, sexual tension, humor, passion, jealously and mystery. There was drama, oh was there some drama, but it was tastefully done and didn't engulf the entire book. And the ending! Well, no spoilers here but the last few pages were better than the whole book put together. Lets just say, J.B. knows how to write a story! ~ Kelly, 4 stars

Fighting for Forever is J.B. Salsbury at her finest!! I think this is my favorite book of her's to date, and that's saying something seeing my intense love for her fighters and their women- especially Jonah and Raven (Fighting for Flight) and Blake and Layla (Fighting to Forgive/A Father's Fight: Blake and Layla #2: Volume 5)!

I took all week after it was released to slowly savor their story -- and I'm so glad I did. It was amazing, and I definitely didn't want to reach the ending too quickly! I just wanted to stay submerged in their world as long as possible.

I fell for both Mason and Trix hard. Their interactions and relationship grew so beautifully. J.B. delivered on all the feels: giggles, swoons, growls, tears, lack of breathing.... Every time I turned the page I felt something deeper and stronger. You go into the story with one idea, start reading it and change your mind, then throughout keep realizing that there's a few more twists and turns to discover.

Mason and Trix's story is definitely not one to miss!!

My least favorite of the series

I really love this series, but I just couldn't get into this story. It just made no sense to me. A girl, Trix has become a stripper so she can find her sister's killer. However it's been four years and she has no leads! Not a really strong plan. It felt like the writer wanted the Hero to fall in love with her immediately after he meets her....while she's stripping for his half brother. Weird. While Trix is in truth a good person, I didn't see Baywatch falling so easily for someone, after carrying a torch for Evie the past year. Then there's his own backstory. It would have seemed completely unnecessary except that we come to learn it ties in with Trix's. Of course it does. There is also some more Gia and Hatch, which was like 3 books ago, and I had trouble following the plot line. After reading the rest of the series, and loving every single book, I was disappointed by this one. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't great.

I love this series and I am very excited every time a new book is released. This one seemed to be a little more intense then the others. I loved it. I'm glad some of the characters finally got what was coming to them! I'm glad Mason finally found his one true love. I was so proud of who Trix is. She is such a strong person. The sacrifice she made for years for her sister is unthinkable. This was a great story and I cried like a baby at the end....but it couldn't have had a better ending! I can't wait to see what's next!!

I'm in the minority here but I didn't enjoy this book. I don't know if it was the stripper aspect or the MC theme but both annoy the hell out of me. I also didn't feel a connection between Mason and Trix. And it was way too religious for my tastes.

My star rating for FIGHTING FOR FOREVER is: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! :)

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading an ARC
Copy of ‘FIGHTING FOR FOREVER'(Fighting Series #6)
(via:BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novels of the Fighting Series.***

This is my review for the 6th installment of the Fighting Series titled “Fighting For Forever” by author J. B. Salsbury. This entire series has been a mix of enthralling, enticing, captivating and gritty. After reading the most recent novel of this series, I have to admit, this series is one of my absolute favorites! None of these books have left me feeling like it fell short or was missing anything as far as the storyline and characters go. This one is written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) from Beatriks “Trix” and Mason “Mase”.

Beatriks “Trix” Langley has been living a wild and dangerous life. She has had a list of lovers who meant nothing more than a fun night. She takes her clothes off for a living and lives this exciting and sexy life in Las Vegas that probably makes her seem like a party girl but she’s there for a reason. Beneath the make-up, partying, no-strings-attached kind-of relationships, and her sexy job, she’s driven by vengeance. Her older sister Lana was murdered and now Trix has made it a mission to do everything she has to do to find out who is responsible. By doing so, she’s had to live a life that differs from what she would’ve expected when Lana was alive. When she meets UFL fighter Mason, she automatically dislikes this grouchy, sexy, guy who she has a bad first encounter with. But sometimes a first encounter can be overrated.

Mason “Mase” is known by the nickname “Baywatch” because of his handsome sunkissed-surfer-boy good looks among his fellow UFL fighters. His usual upbeat, kicked-back persona is the side of him that most people see but there is definitely more to him. He comes from a background that wasn’t always sunshine and mellow-waves and an old crew he used to run with can prove that. His brother Drake, who has a dangerous father named Elijah, has pulled Drake into a dark and twisted life that Mason has tried to get his brother away from. Mason’s relationship with his brother Drake has been rocky, especially after a betrayal that hurt Mason long ago. When Mason meets Trix he can’t help but think she’s mean as hell but something about her draws him in and threatens to hold on tight to him. Once the past comes around again, Mason must try and save himself, his brother and the little vixen named Trix that has somehow tangled herself into his life and the problems looming.

Will Trix finally get the answers to the questions that have haunted her about the brutal murder of her sister Lana? Can Mason help Trix or will she pull away from him completely? Who will survive and who won’t? In this sexy, dark, twisted and captivating story about revenge, justice and finding out the truth, you’ll find yourself completely pulled into Beatriks and Mason’s story. I highly recommend this novel and this series because the story is well-written and even though it can be gritty, it twists and turns in such a gripping way. Definitely worth reading! Pick up your copy A.S.A.P. You won’t regret these interesting and intense novels in this explosive series!

My Star Rating for "FIGHTING FOR FOREVER" is: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! :)

"Revenge. Vindication. Whoever did this to her needs to pay a penalty that the law can't deliver."

So, for me personally I don't think JB Salsbury could write a bad book if she tried to. Every single book of her I read grips me and doesn't let go till the very end and Fighting For Forever was no different. Ever since I met Mase in the last book and he lost out on the girl I have been dying to see how his story plays out but I never would have dreamed up it could have been so intense and action filled. I loved it all.

"That girl hates me. Hell, I hate her. Okay, maybe I don't hate her, but I sure as shit don't like her."

When Mase meets Trix he has been burned and basically turned into an angry ass. When stripper, Trix, accidentally breaks his phone he is mean and spiteful to her and makes an awful first impression, not that he is concerned at all what she thinks of him. But Trix can give as good as she takes and lets him know just what she thinks of him and his attitude. Both Trix and Mase have some awful demons in their past that have irrevocably changed their present and threaten to permanently alter their future. The more time these two are around each other the harder and harder it becomes to deny their attraction and how much they care for one another. Can each in the process of saving themselves possible save the other?

"You're gonna break me."
Mase has completely transformed throughout this series. He starts off as a fun California surfer dude then becomes the jilted wanna be lover. Angry and stuck in the past he seems destined to remain that way but when he meets and falls for Trix he decides to be the man she deserves and becomes the Alpha hero of my dreams.

"The need to protect her is overwhelming. The desire to be close to her is uncontrollable. And the urge to know her, really know her, is irresistible."

Fighting For Forever is the kind of book that proves to you that true love exists in the darkest corners and one moment can change a persons life for both the better or the worse it just depends on which path you choose to take. As always, JB's writing is flawless and my kindle was overflowing with highlighted quotes I wanted to make sure I didn't forget. If you love angry fighters with a soft side and strippers with a past all wrapped up in a mystery you never saw coming this is the book for you.

So, I just finished Fighting for Forever and I have tears streaming down my face. What an emotional read! I think I need some time to get my thoughts in order before I can write this review...
Well, it's been a few days and I'm no longer crying but damn, this book really got me. I absolutely love this series and thanks to JB, Mason, and Trixie, I am in a total book funk. I knew that I was going to love this book, I mean how could I not?! I just didn't know that I was going to absolutely, completely, LOVE this book!!
JB delivers a beautiful and emotional story filled with dynamic and almost poetic prose, witty dialogue, bold and multi-dimensional characters, action, mystery, and a sweet love story. Salsbury has a true talent for storytelling. Her books are intricate but nothing gets lost in the telling. Yes, there is action, heartbreaking situations, mystery, various side characters, but all of that only adds to Mason and Trixie's love story. Their relationship and journey, both as a couple and as individuals, is what takes center stage.
I fell in love with Mason in Fighting the Fall. I just knew there was something special about him and I needed to read his story. It was refreshing to read about the "good guy". Don't get me wrong, I love a bad boy and JB writes amazing male leads but Mason was a nice change from the "manwhore", arrogant guys we often read about.
When I first saw that the female lead was going to be Trixie I was both intrigued and a bit skeptical. I didn't really know what to think of her in Fighting to Forget but I went into this book with an open mind and wow! She was amazing! Trixie is one of the strongest and most badass characters I've read about!
Seriously people, read this book!! Cheers to you JB for another fabulous five star read!! Perhaps I will will emerge from my book hangover in time for your next book...

J. B. Salsbury....you are a MEAN MEAN person...and I say that in the best way possible because I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK. Seriously...the ending just ripped my heart out!!!

Mason....ohhhhhhhhh Mason. I felt sorry for him in the last book, I kinda didn't like him in the beginning of this book...but man oh man did I fall in love with him. He is such a GREAT character. He seemed to be the only one of the bunch who really believed in love and not fucking everything that walks. He was such a hot piece of ass too which didn't hurt, lol.

Trix...hmmmmmm....I wasn't sure how I felt about her. I understood her motives but sometimes I just was disgusted and would cringe at how she lived her life. At one point in the book I was ready to give up on her. When she was going to do things to get information from someone while she was with Mason (he knew by the way, hated it, but knew) I thought the book was going in a really bad direction and I almost put it down and wasn't going to finish it. After that whole debacle, I started to connect a little with her ( I was still pissed at her for even thinking about doing what she was gonna do). But the ending of the book....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the ending. I just freaking love it. It really made me LOVE both Mason (even more) and Trix. I cant say what they did because it will give away the amazing ending.

After reading this book, I kind of want to see some redemption for Drake, Mason's brother. He really screwed up in this book, but I want to see him get a little love. I don't know how it could happen. He had a GF and a baby on the way in this book....but maybe JB Salsbury could kill off the GF (I know im a twisted bitch) or make her flake on him and the kid and give him a story with someone who really loved him?!?!?!?!
