TANGLED SECRETS (A Devil Call MC Book) (Talon & Everly Book Eight)
~*~
THIS IS IT.
Talon comes face to face with every decision he's made and action he's taken. Wounded in more ways than he realizes, he's not even sure who is actually a friend, a brother, or an enemy. All he has is his love for Everly, and even that is unexpected. And now he has to fight... will he have to sacrifice his own life to make things right again?
From the outside, Everly watches. It's not just Talon and Layne's fate and the status of her relationship with either of them on the line... it's the entire club. Devil Call MC is about to be taken down...
In this finale of Talon, Everly, and Layne's story, your questions will be answered, but the hardest question will be... who is going to make it out alive?

I read this cliff-hanger series of 8 installments for 3 reasons. 1- All of the books in the series had been released. 2- They were available on Kindle Unlimited. 3- A friend recommended them. With that said, these are my thoughts about this entire series. The author does have some good writing skills and delivered a decent plot with characters that I connected with. I kept reading to see how the story would end. This series included 8 installments and in my opinion it could have been reduced to one really good story that I would have possibly rated 5 stars. As I read through each installment I felt like there was a heck of a lot of unnecessary sex scenes that were basically repeats of the one I read before. There was a lot of filler and repeats of characters saying and doing almost the same thing in each installment. So even though it was a good story that hooked me with the plot, I felt like the author was just stretching the story to get one more installment in. If purchased separately the eight installments would have come to $8 for what should have been one book. I doubt if I will continue with the spin off series because I am afraid that again there will be multiple installments that are contain a lot of filler and repeats. In this last installment of the series I had begun to start skipping pages just to get to the end. I would love to see this author write one really good story without going down the multiple installment series list.
True to what author Ana Fawkes said, all the loose ends were tied up and the trash taken out to the curb. Talon, Layne, Everly (who I'm still not lovin) and Detective John all get their proper ending. Through this whole series, I felt like I was stuck in the middle of tornado, taken along for a harrowing ride that led to nothing but death and destruction. Eventually I landed somewhere, with my head spinning, assessing the damage. Whew! This MC series was brutal and I loved every minute of it.
I struggled with this series..... It's well written and has a good story but...... I felt there was a lot of unnecessary information in here. I couldn't really understand the dynamics of the relationships.... was it actually love or abuse or self abuse... Everly appeared to be a tormented soul with no self belief... she (in the beginning) allows herself to be used by any man yet we have no idea why she feels that this is all she is worth...
She lands in a "relationship" with talon, yet I failed to see the connection between them.....it appeared (to me) that there was no relationship, just consentual sex, which is what she had at the start of the books. I stuck with all the instalments because part of me wanted to see how it all turned out, but I can't say I enjoyed the books... there was too little depth or emotion for me.
The stress is killing everything, there are wars inside and outside of the club, brothers stabbing each other in their backs, justice will be served and a rogue cop will meet the end that she should have been handed the day he help kill Talons mother and Layne's family. Also Everly will loose something very secret and precious to her, he feelings towards Layne are more brotherly then lover. Plans haven been in the making since Layne took the patch and now all those plans have been fulfilled and his story is when he is the new president for his new charter. Since there can only be one president in Brocke and thats Talon with his MC Queen Everly by his side.
I hate to see it end. It's like my favorite soap opera is now canceled. There's no book I have ever read with a more alpha than talon. He seemed to be getting a little soft in this book and still is the most alpha I've ever seen. Great book but if you have read the previous books you may not be able to get into it. I suggest reading the earlier books in the series first.
Layne and Talon I just don't understand all the fighting then we are not fighting. Layne and Everly: Can you have sex immediately after a miscarriage? This just seems painful. Detective John: Who let this lunatic out of the asylum.
I just didn't get this one at all. I kept reading the series hoping it would get better.
Wow, what a ride this series was to read!!!! Cliffhangers at the end of each one and wondering what was going to happen!!! I loved the story of Talon, Layne, and Everly!!! And the surprise in this book of the plan all along completely took me by surprise!!! Great ending!!!
Loved it, loved the whole damn series, every bit, every word - an epic tale, an anti-hero/hero who was transformed, a lost, yet saved soul, a lifeglong friend who plotted, planned, played his hand and.. . No spoilers here. Do yourself a favour and read Talon & Everly's story. Soon. And I'm delighted that there is more to come of these characters . They are "must-reads" for sure.
Very unexpected finish with lots of surprises. I was glad I stuck around I loved it. I felt the books should have been combined more as I got a little bored reading eight books. I am looking forward to the trilogy about Layne and his new adventures.
What a brilliant series, I read all the books back to back over two days, in one or two places I got a little bored of the repetitive shagging, but on the whole it's a really good story, Not the traditional MC read, well worth giving it a go!
Took long enough 8 books to get to somewhat of an ending. lucky for me I bought the whole series including Laynes now story so I won't have to wait forever for it Thank GOD.
