I really enjoyed this book, especially the morally grey(dear I say morally black?), unhinged MMC Stone🤤
Before you go into this book you should know that it is a DARK romance, with themes of forced captivity, kidnapping, toxic romantic relationship elements, touch her and Di3 and other dark themes. Once you’ve gotten that out of the way, accepted it, and embraced it then you will truly be able to dive into this story.
Addicted follows FMC Indie who is an older sister doing everything she can to ensure that her younger brother doesn’t end up down the wrong path. Their parents have passed away and the one thing she asks of her brother is to not get involved in the streets. Of course her younger brother DOES EXACTLY that, and being the feisty, confident, confrontational FMC, Indigo pops up on her brother ready to drag his behind back home. Unluckily for her and her brother, they get wrapped up with the top drug dealer, Stone (enter our unhinged, possessive MMC). Stone is ready to un alive them but Indigo immediately puts on her Sultress hat and trades her brother’s life for HERS (aka we all grown we know what she was really offering up).
From there the story takes off and we tumble through highly erotic spice scenes, scary run ins, possessive and unhinged behaviour… all wrapped up in this novel that takes you for a ride. To the point where you get about half way into the novel and conflicted about your feelings but the author does a good job of leveling it out for us and the FMC’s emotions regarding her situation are always authentic and I appreciate that.
Spice level: 5/5🌶️ MMC Crazy level: 4.5/5 Entertainment level? 5/5
The epilogue dragged a TINY bit, but it’s the epilogue and there for people who don’t want to let go so I’m not even mad at it.
Highly reccomend only for folks who enjoy dark romance or are open to it.
I received a complimentary ARC directly from the author for review consideration. This review reflects my honest opinions, and I received no compensation or incentives beyond the opportunity to read the book early.
Yallllll 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 was me out the gate until the end of the book….. and I love it here lmfao 😂 I definitely wrote to the Queen herself and informed her that I loved this book and I was almost done and when I finished it she had a hit on her hands. I’ve told my book groups and clubs they should definitely put this book in their rotations and TBR list once it’s released. The character development, the yearning, the emotions, the intensity and passion because the personality of Stone and Indie was fire on fire. This is a dark urban romance so please come into this book with some sense but only a little because all books are gonna take you where they’re supposed to go lol. This book brought me in from the first 6 pages hence I finished it in 24hrs haha 🤣 maybe less than cuz I had to sleep haha 🤣. I don’t want to give it away but pre order and support this Queen on her upcoming release next month 🥵😈 you don’t want to miss. Keep the rose charged ladies 🤭🤭😏😏🙂↕️🙂↕️
There are books that slowly pull you in, and then there are books like Addicted that grab you from the very first chapter and refuse to let go. I was completely invested in Indie and the impossible choice she made to save her brother. What begins as a desperate sacrifice quickly spirals into something far more dangerous, emotional, and consuming. Throughout the book, Indie proves she's much stronger than her circumstances. Stone is the definition of morally gray: intense, possessive, and impossible to ignore. The emotional push and pull between them kept me on edge, and I couldn't wait to see how their story would unfold. This isn't just a dark romance; it's a story about sacrifice, vulnerability, and how love can grow in the most unexpected places.
Favorite Quotes: “I can’t stop crying because I’m in fuckin’ love with your dumb ass and you’re threatening to kill me over a ninja who don’t mean shit to me! So, fuck you!”
“I will never hurt you. I’d die before I ever hurt you.”
“Nothing in this world is more important to me than you, our baby and Ishmael. If you want me out the game, then I’m out.”
After Indie left work, i was hooked!! The suspense of IT all kept me so intrigued; and i meannnn, reading about how stone was throwing Indie ever which way around that house kept my eyes glued to the pages too!!!
😈😈😈 Daddy stone can kidnap me any time!! I’ll give it to indie… she DEFINITELY was a bad ass FMC!! I loved her personality, she was tough and fearless, but she also was soft and feminine! and she was not childish!
Stone… Cold & Calculated, but i still loved him! addicted had me stuck! I needed to know what was going to happen next! I loved the character and Plot development. Addicted was funny & sweet, with a little suspense!
