I was begging for more of Zane in book one, and boy did he deliver 🫦 I'm actually obsessed with this feral psychopath and how down bad he was for his little hellion.
Definitely check your triggers first, but if you're as dark and twisted as I am, you'll probably eat this up too 🤭

I received this book as an arc by the Berry Agency in exchange for an honest review.
When this book came up I did not even read the blurb, I went completely off the tropes and knew I was going to have a great time reading this book. I was not wrong! I had the best time reading this book. I absolutely love how they are both as unhinged as each other and how they would burn the world for each other. I could not put this book down.

Unhinged book 2 in her Death & Devotion series, is a dark mafia romance that thoroughly lives up to its title.
And I absolutely enjoyed this book!
It’s fast-paced from the very beginning, jumping straight into the darkness and basically never letting up. The trigger warnings read like a shopping list, except when I saw that “snake” was also on there. As someone who is absolutely not a fan of snakes, I’m very glad I decided to keep reading because I devoured this!
Both the FMC (Aisling aka Hellion) and MMC (Zane) are morally grey, dark AF, love violence, and are honestly perfect for each other. Aisling holds her own & then some. I loved that they completely match each other’s energy. If you love the “touch her and die” trope, you will LOVE this book. Especially with a “crawl to me” you’d never expect. This was so full of spice, even though a few times I questioned why. (You’ll realise when you get there).
I have two favourite quotes which I think encompass what I liked about this book:
“There is not a single thing I would change about you, your past, what you have done or what you will continue to do. You are everything.”
And:
“‘Xavier, I would say it’s a pleasure, but compared to what I was just experiencing, this interaction is a little lacking.”
That second one had me overjoyed.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Unhinged. It’s dark, violent, spicy, fast-paced, and packed with two morally grey characters who are completely unhinged in the best way. If dark mafia romance is your thing, definitely add this one to your TBR!

Let's be honest, these novellas are the definition of the "the smut is the plot", but does that matter when the spice is this good? It doesn't. These two were unhinged in the best way. Reading Unhinged is an experience within itself, both the main characters have such complex feelings and are incredibly written. I appreciated having both characters being as morally grey as each other, creating an amazing dynamic where both Aisling and Zane can go both metaphorically and literally punch for punch against each other without it feeling as thought one was taking advantage over the other.
My only issues with the book was that it went into the side characters a little more and that the plot twist didn’t have any real build up to it. So many of the characters we saw seemed to be just as enjoyable as the main couple, I just wished they added more personality just as Aisling and Zane had. The plot twist was an appreciated change of pace, even though the characters were insanely spontaneous it was slightly monotonous until they had a common goal. However I wish we had a few more hints to what the actual twist would be.
Overall the book was definitely an enjoyable read which had me itching for more, was debating if I should read more of Leila Thorne’s books but this book has definitely placed her as one of my favourite readers.

This was an extremely dark and disturbing read so definitely check your trigger warnings before diving in. Despite the darkness, the banter between the characters was fantastic and kept me hooked
There was quite a bit of blood play, and I’ll admit there were some moments that made me gag… but somehow that made me completely invested and loving every minute of it!
Zane’s unwavering devotion to Aisling was next level and Aisling was a badass in her own right. I loved their chemistry.
I enjoyed the whole storyline, the spice was hot 🔥 and I especially loved the villains get exactly what they deserved.
The description of the paint at the end was so fitting of the main characters. I could picture it so vividly

Unhinged by Leila Thorne is aptly named as it is indeed one of the most Unhinged books I have ever read. I have said it once and I will say it again Leila is an absolute genius. I honestly don't know how she comes up with some of the scenes she writes (especially the spicy ones). If you are the kind of person that often finds themselves skipping spicy scenes, not because you don't like reading spice but because they can often seem repetitive then Unhinged is for you. Each spicy scene is uniquely dark and twisted and often featured scenarios that I would have never imagined the possibility of (let me know what you think of the weapon room scene when you get to it as it is honestly one of the hottest scenes I have ever read). The pace is fast and the spice and plot are well balanced. The plot twist had me reeling (because of course there is a plot twist) and honestly it I could rate Unhinged higher than 5 stars I would. If you haven't purchased a copy yet I recommend you do so immediately!

Damn....the spice, the tension, the kinks....what can I say but OMFG. That was fast paced and bloody amazing (all pun intended). This is the second book in the series and despite Zane the MMC being this big tough, kinky guy he has a heart deep inside and just wants to be loved and who better to love him than his Little Hellion, Aisling.
She has her own trauma that she brings to the table, but that doesn't stop her being a kick ass kinky FMC. She gives just as good as she gets and there is no holding back with the spice....as I read chapter 22, my mouth was open as I took it all in.
These two together will cause carnage but what they deliver is sweet sweet revenge. Put this at the very top of you TBR. I cannot wait for the 3rd book.

This book is as the title warns you and completely unhinged. If you don’t like your books dark, twisty and very very bloody it’s time to run away 🤣🤣
This is Leila’s 3rd novel I’ve had the absolutely pleasure of getting to ARC read and boy am I loving seeing her fully unleash that twisted and depraved mind of hers in these stories. If you thought unyielding and Chapter 14 (IYKYK) was dark, then baby strap in because this book delivers the darkness of that chapter, consistently throughout this book.
The spice is off the charts and I highly recommend keeping a partner/towel/lube nearby when reading this novel…. You’re DEFINITELY going to need it. 🥵🥵🥵

In the second book of the series (Death & Devotion) we find Zane and Aisling, but sadistic and brutal killers, but with a heart of love. Found myself enjoying the banter between these two, but in the heat of the moment, there's a deeper underlying understanding for one another.
Be warned if you do decide to read as there is a lot of steamy scenes, graphic descriptions, blood play, knife play - you know what, read the triggers, you'll understand haha
All round, enjoyable and making me ready for the last book in the series. It's just ramped up and I can;t wait to see whats next for this series.

I went into Unhinged thinking "Okay I read dark romance, I can handle this"

Both FMC & MMC were both very very unhinged and a little scary, If I am being honest. There were some scenes where I was like I need to touch grass!!!
This book has shown me I am Vanilla.....and I am ok with that! Zane & Hellion are now filed under "Vanessa's Boundaries" but I still enjoyed the read.
That said I do love a new author who seems willing to go for the crazy idea, instead of always being safe. Leila has a raw fearless quality and I LOOOOOOOOOVE it!

Never did I think I would smirk so much reading about two unhinged lovers!! These two are literally perfect for each other and I can’t believe I’m gonna say it but I wanted this book to burn slower so I could soak it all up!
Some scenes some people need to check the trigger warnings on… for those scene well I ate them and thought they were brilliant, the whole time I was like ‘ohhhhh Zane did not… oh yes he did’ ‘ they did what right next to what? It makes perfect sense for them’ such a great read!! I’m really hoping Xavier gets a book now just so I can gobble up another book by Leila 😍

What a fucking wild ride this was! I don’t even know where to start. This read had a bit off everything, literally. The plot was there and was heavy at times, and Leila does not shy away from writing whatever she wants which I LOVED!
Also, loved the golden retriever MMC x black cat FMC vibes, our man Zane was down BAD, I can’t blame him though 🤭

Every book Leila writes gets better and better! It’s been so beautiful seeing the progression and this one delivers! It’s unique, emotional and UNHINGED! I love how these two explore bdsm with consent, understanding and past experiences in mind as these things really are the key factors, its not just the actions taking place. I adore Zane and his lowkey himbo nature and his relationship with Hellion had me kicking my feet, to crying…a wonderful job again Leila and I cannot WAIT for Xav’s book OMG! 🫶🏻

Well if the title doesn’t speak for itself, Unhinged is well and truly unhinged! And I loved every second of it! The chemistry between Zane and Aisling is chaotic, addictive and just straight grabs you by the throat (for reals!). Every single chapter had the intensity cranked up a notch or 7 with the dark atmosphere vibes that just has your soul melting! I almost died at the end of chapter 20 😭 IYKYK!!!! This one is not to be missed!

Unhinged had everything I want in a romance: a genuinely addictive plot, insane chemistry, and an FMC and MMC who are both ridiculously HOT. 🔥 The spice was next level—the tension, build-up, and payoff were so good, and the chemistry between them was impossible to ignore. I loved that the story itself was just as gripping as the steamy scenes, so I was completely invested from beginning to end. LT you absolutely nailed the perfect mix of plot, passion, and spice. I couldn’t put it down!

I just knew Zane would be completely unhinged but he definitely met his match with Aisling. They were perfectly psychotic together and I loved every second of it. The spice was insane but the story of them finding and coming together was amazing to read!

Did I read the trigger warnings when applying for the ARC, absolutely not. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. This book was sooooo good. The most unhinged thing I think I have ever read and I was feral for it.
