I grew up on a farm in Ohio, but that's not very interesting, is it? When I'm not writing you can find me doing one of two things; getting lost on highways or getting lost in the lives of fictional characters. If my heart had two feet, one foot would be in romance and the other solidly in geekdom. I hope you'll all follow me on my journey through this carnival they call life.I promise there will be a happy ending.

This shouldn't be read as a standalone.

The story continues for Apple and Brick! But this was more about Brick's journey to find forgiveness and peace.

I didn't enjoy this as much as Bad Reputation. There were some moments where I felt disconnected with the characters and plot. I also wanted to slap Apple a couple of times. There were some twists in the book, and the ending was entertaining.

The next book will be about Cece, and I look forward to reading her story.

My Thoughts: http://oneguysguidetogoodreads.blogsp...

Allow me to be completely honest with you guys here. I was not anticipating this to be a novel I enjoyed, at all. While Bad Reputation definitely kept me intrigued, the idea of a redemption story for Brick gave me the worst taste in my mouth. As far as characters go, I'd never met one that I thought was damaged beyond repair. One person who never deserved a ray of hope or an ounce of salvation. Then I met Brick Valmont. This deeply disturbed guy is evil down to his very core, even after reading, I'm still not sold on him. I can say, however, that KB Nelson did an absolutely incredible job in warming my heart towards Brick and see that there can be redemption for even the darkest of souls.

Bad Situation is a whole lot like it's predecessor Bad Reputation, in fact, this almost reads as an extension of book one rather than an entirely separate novel. As told from both Apple and Brick's POV, we learn that Apple's 'happily ever after' we read in book one may not be all it's cracked up to be. With more heartbreak, more deception, and more drama, Bad Reputation sets the stage for Apple and Brick's groundbreaking finale in the best ways possible!

While I enjoyed book one, I was really turned off at times by the fact that this series is more or less about using love and sex as a game. Thankfully Nelson upped the ante in book two. While the game is still in play, the goals are a little more realistic and the sex really isn't as overbearing as book one. On a negative note, I will say that this is probably one of the most dramatic reads I've ever encountered. So much so that I had to put the book down several times and walk away. It's the good 'soap opera' kind of drama that leads me to wonder how many Daytime Emmy's Nelson has under her belt, but doesn't always appeal to me.

With twists and turns at every page, Nelson never lets the characters get too comfortable before tossing another wrench to their plans. I have to say that I was impressed with so many plot points that I didn't see coming, it was a treat to be constantly surprised. This story will definitely keep you on your toes.

I have to add that when it comes to characters, I really think Nelson outdid herself when it came to character development with Brick and Tyra (Brick's newest conquest). While Apple ultimately fell short for me in this installment (in fact I think I could have done without her at all), Nelson's passion to redeem Brick was evident in the embodiment of Tyra. Tyra was written to perfection and really guided the story in the best of ways. In fact, I think she's become my favorite series character to-date.

A relatively short read, fans will fly through this one in just a few sittings. I am confident that anyone who enjoyed book one will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome of book two. It's unexpected and emotional in ways I was not expecting, giving you hope for the characters at a time I thought there was none.

With at least two more novels in this series planned, I am anxious to see how Nelson handles the stories of Cece and Dom. While Apple and Brick;s stories may be finished, Nelson has no shortage of story to tell with the predicaments she's placed her characters in. I know this reader will be anxiously awaiting!

With all this being said, I am granting Bad Situation a well-earned 4-star review. Perfect for fans of dark romance and the New Adult genre, this series is sure to be a hit! Be sure to add it to your TBR today!

K.B. Nelson continues Brick and Apple’s story in this exciting and heart-pounding installment of the Bad Reputation series and good Lord what a story it is! Nelson took the story to a place I did not expect, but it still was an enthralling read that kept me craving to know the outcome. Nelson’s writing style flows just beautifully and at times lyrical, so much that I found myself fascinated at the talent that this author has. The characters are complex, entertaining and so majorly screwed up I could only hope that there would be some type of redemption in this story.

But let’s take a look at the major players in this story – Brick and Apple. If you read Bad Reputation, you know that Apple was tired of the game she and Brick were playing and it didn't help matters much when she fell in love with her intended target Jensen. Apple leaves with Jensen which leaves Brick a wreck. With Apple out of the picture, he is like a lost puppy and discovers that he loves (or thinks he does) Apple. When Apple returns to pack up her belongings in order to start a life with Jensen, Brick ups the ante and the game continues on like never before. The rules have changed, but it is basically the same game. As before, someone will get hurt in the end.

Apple really does want to be a different person and as a reader, I really liked the new Apple. Although she still is searching for answers, she is on the right track – if she can separate herself from Brick. Although her and Jensen have some issues to work out, I really like them as a couple.

Brick – oh Brick. I’m not going to lie. I really didn't like Brick at all in the beginning. He’s a manipulative, conniving, arrogant bastard who I really didn't believe could change his ways. But we get to see a different side of Brick in Bad Situation and throughout we get to see a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, there is hope for this tormented man. I admit that after reading Bad Situation, I have a special place in my heart for this man.

Overall, I was happy with the ending and can’t wait to see what Nelson gives us in Bad Imitation and from the snippet I read, it’s going to be a wild and crazy ride.

K.B. Nelson is a seriously good writer and I could really tell that a lot of heart and soul is going into this series. Every book to date written by this outstanding author has been exceptionally good, so you can’t go wrong by starting this series to get a taste of what Nelson has to offer!

Okay I loved the first book and most of this feels like it is from that one but with different conditions. This goes right along from Bad Reputation, but now Apple wants a clean slate, and facing Brick is the only answer. But Brick will do anything or anyone to get Apple back in his arms and bed but the one he will use is the one to break his evil cold heart and make him change for the good. There will be make ups, death, revenge, truths coming out and a wedding. The next story a new player in this game that both Apple and Brick trained, Cece and her plans for her cheating boyfriend.

**I was gifted by the author with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review**
Bad Situation (Bad Reputation, #2) by K.B. Nelson BY K.B. Nelson

I had received an ARC of the first book in this series which is Bad Reputation (Bad Reputation, #1) by K.B. Nelson from Netgalley months ago and REALLY REALLY enjoyed it. I quickly signed up to hopefully get lucky enough to receive the ARC to the following book which is this one right here. Imagine my reaction when I get the email with the file attached. I was stoked!!!!! I really wanted to see what all happens with Brick. I mean he was like WOAH when we last read of him. So we get Brick but we also still get Apple's POV. You see her go through her struggle to accept that maybe she really has indeed changed and does deserve to be happy or if its her just being selfish with Jensen knowing she doesn't deserve because of all the lives she has destroyed. Meanwhile Brick is obsessed with Apple and he can't accept that she is in love with Jensen, he truly feels as though him & Apple belong together because of the games they play. Things really get rollercoaster from the Pro-logue and on because your piecing or atleast trying to piece them together. Really awesome read! thank you for the opportunity to have read this book and I am impatiently waiting for Cece's story!

Brick. How do I even describe this book? WOW! A little too fast paced but damn, I loved it.

I've met the characters in Bad Reputation so I was familiar with the vindictive, sociopathic Brick. And Apple. They are basically the same person with how they've treated people. Until Apple fell in love and left. Brick loves Apple. He also loves his games so when Apple comes back to Carolina to find herself, find out if she can really change, Brick wants to drag her back into that lifestyle. He's her drug--her addiction. He wants to break Tyra, the virgin he bet he could bed, then get Apple back.

Bad Situation is told in dual POV's (until the end--setting up book 3) and if we got 'more' with how Brick changes, this would have been a five star. I love seeing the broken, kind of unfixable people evolve. For me, Brick was regular Brick-- whom I kind of really loved....don't judge me! -- and then he magically started opening up and realizing things.

All the twists and turns, the betrayal, and the emotional rollercoaster these characters are dealt with will leave you on the edge of your seat. I love the author's writing style and can't wait to see what will happen to the other characters.

Highly recommended if you're looking for a sexy new adult novel.

I'd love to say that Brick wasn't a complete a-hole in this book but I'd be lying but you find out he indeed does have a heart.
Brick is a wierd character, you love to hate him and luckily enough i love a-hole male characters :D
I was on the fence with Brick in the first book but with his own book.. i think i fell a little bit in love with him.
Its lovely how you get to see Apple and Jenson in this book too so their not completely out of the way.
I need book 3 like now though ;)

Bad Situation by K.B. Nelson is a good book. This is the second book in the Bad Reputation series. It picks up where you leave off from the first book so it is a good idea to read the first novel before digging into the second book. Apple and Brick are back, and I still don't like Brick. The characters are even more developed in this novel. I didn't like it as much as I did the first book, but still found it worth the read and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
