Blood of a Feather completely pulled me in from the very first chapter and refused to let go. Molly Hunter has created a world that feels dark, dangerous, and beautifully immersive, where every page leaves you wanting to know what happens next.
Seren is an incredibly compelling protagonist. Watching her endure unimaginable hardship while refusing to let it define her made her impossible not to root for. Her resilience, determination, and emotional depth made every victory feel earned and every setback hit that much harder.
The relationship between Seren and the vampire was one of my favourite parts of the novel. It develops naturally amidst impossible circumstances, balancing tenderness with tension in a way that never felt forced. Their chemistry is undeniable, and every interaction had me desperate to keep turning the pages.
The world-building is equally impressive. Grimshale, the supernatural politics, and the constant danger surrounding both realms create an atmosphere that is rich, unique, and easy to become lost in. The stakes remain high throughout, and the story is filled with twists that kept me guessing until the very end.
If you love fantasy with compelling characters, slow-burning romance, emotional depth, and a plot that refuses to let you put the book down, Blood of a Feather deserves a place on your reading list.
I finished this book already wanting the next one. An unforgettable read that I would happily recommend to any fantasy romance lover.

The second I saw the FMC was a harpy, I was sold. A harpy in a why choose fantasy? Say less.
This book has a lot going for it. Being the first in a series, there's naturally a lot of worldbuilding, so it does start off on the slower side, but you can tell a huge amount of thought has gone into creating the world and its lore.
There was so much I enjoyed. I'm a why choose girl through and through, and I love when the love interests already have established relationships with each other, so that was a massive win for me. The spice was done really well, and the world itself felt rich and well developed.
Where it lost me a little was the dialogue. At times it felt like every single thought had to be explained, then discussed, then explained again. I found myself wishing some conversations had been tightened up because they occasionally slowed the pacing more than they needed to.
That being said... THAT ENDING.
Molly Hunter really chose violence with that cliffhanger, and now I need to know what happens next.
Overall, I had a good time with this one. It didn't completely blow me away, but it has a solid foundation, an interesting world, and enough intrigue that I'll absolutely be picking up book two.

Blood of a Feather follows a harpy who is kidnapped after humans decide to break the ancient treaty separating the human world from the creature world beyond the Veil. While imprisoned, she unexpectedly forms a connection with a vampire, and what follows is a fantasy romance filled with danger, humor, and plenty of spice.
One of my favorite parts of this book was Raiden. His golden retriever personality had me smiling throughout the book, and he balanced the darker moments perfectly. I also loved the world-building. The concept of the Veil and the tension between humans and magical creatures made me want to learn even more about this world.
The romance was spicy, and I appreciated that the why choose aspect truly committed to the trope rather than feeling forced.
While I really enjoyed the story, it just didn’t quite reach that five-star, “I can’t stop thinking about this” level for me. Even so, I was completely invested by the end.
And speaking of the end… WHAT WAS THAT?! That cliffhanger had me staring at my wall questioning everything. I’ll absolutely be picking up book two because I need answers.
If you enjoy fantasy romance with unique creatures, forced proximity, found family, humor, and spicy why choose romance, I’d definitely recommend adding this one to your TBR.

The first book I read of Molly’s truly had me hooked on her ability, but after reading her second book I am convinced she is now one of my favourite authors. The detail and execution of the characters, scenery, households and the magic of the world inside those pages is amazing. The way she describes each and every character is not something you find often, not in the way Molly has done. One of my favourite things that this book doesn’t have is the constant nagging about how he or she smells and how his or her eyes are so and so colour, or how they deepen or lighten every time something happens. It’s so refreshing not to be reading the same thing over and over again like so many authors do.
This was my first vampire book, actually my first book involving these types of characters, and I’m so glad it was my first, I’m so drawn and entangled with these characters that, come to the end of the book I just wanted more.

I’m a ‘why choose’ girlie. So when I got the opportunity to review this book before publication, I was astatic!
The first half of this book drew me in from chapter 2. I was hooked. I expected this to be a 5 star read. Characters, plot, drama… 10/10. But then the second half of the book hit and I found myself craving more, specifically in the plot. I wanted more drama. It felt like a lot of unnecessary fluff. So much that I struggled to finish the book. But the ending saved the day and had me settling at 3/5 stars and definitely keen for the next book.

'Blood Of A Feather' completely drew me in from the beginning. The story of Raiden and Seren enduring unimaginable cruelty before fighting for their people and their freedom was both heartbreaking and empowering. I found it incredibly easy to become attached to the characters, especially Raiden, who quickly became by favourite. I absolutely loved the cliffhanger at the end and cannot wait to read book number 2.

Molly Hunter has created a captivating world along filled with romance, high stakes action and compelling characters. The chemistry between the characters is believable and highly entertaining as I often had a laugh at the banter between the main cast. This is a must read for fans of spicey romance & readers that love a good twist.

She had me at the prologue!
A badass main character who won’t let the bastards kill her spirit or her sass, Seren and her men (yes,2 hunks of man meat ) finally get revenge on the ones who imprisoned and abused her.
I was totally dragged into this story. The world building, the character descriptions, both visual and emotional were very detailed. But the ending!!! Bring on book 2 quickly please. I hate a cliffhanger
The growth and development in this author’s writing is evident here. I enjoyed her first novel, and this one is even better. There’s violence, despair, hope, sex, group sex, revenge all peppered with some comedy relief. Get to it!

I was drawn into from the get go. The world building was detailed but not over whelming, had all the darkness and deliciousness you would want from a dark fantasy romance.
Seren is an absolute QUEEN (hehe) she is so sassy, strong and unwavering in her loyalty.
The characters, the plot and all the chaos going on was excellent and had me flying through the pages. And that ending??!!! Diabolical and edged so hard, i need book 2 asap.
I am mildly (highly) obsessed with Thane - he absolutely made me fall in love with this story more and more. He added a little something I didn’t even think was missing and made it so much more fun!
