After a phone call from the NYPD telling him they have a lead on who killed his wife, Shelley four years ago, Jeff and Richard head to NYC.
A chapter is finally closed in Jeffs life. Jeff finds out who killed Shelley, but how and will justice be served. You will have to read this story to find out! If you haven't read the rest of this series don't miss out.
I love the relationship between Jeff and Richard throughout the story.
Highly recommend this book!

Four years ago, Jeff's ex-wife was brutally killed in a drug deal gone bad and her murderer was never found. The detective on the case contacts Jeff regularly to keep him informed of any progress and this time tells him they may have a lead. Jeff really wants to put this finally behind him so he volunteers to return there and see if his psychic ability can unearth any more concrete information. While his girlfriend and brother both try to talk him out of it, Jeff insists on going. His brother Richard, realizing he can't convince him to stay, arranges to go with him and lend moral support. Jeff realizes the murder was brutal, but when faced with the physical evidence, he is sickened at the scenes playing out in his head. His sense of guilt over Michelle's death still haunts him. Can he help the police solve this case or will he try to exact vengeance on his own? I enjoy this series with a hint of the paranormal, but also with a healthy dash of family and comraderie. Each story brings Jeff more in touch with his feelings, more at ease with his gift, and closer to those he considers family. I look forward to the next book in this series. Disclosure: I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It's been two years since the mugging that left Jeff Resnick with psychic powers and four years since his ex-wife Shelly was murdered. When Jeff gets a call from the NYPD to report their progress, or rather lack thereof, Jeff offers his services.

What will Jeff find if he goes to New York? Can he solve the cold case?

This is a great addition to the continuing story of Jeff Resnick.

I've read every one of L.L. Barlett's Jeff Resnick books. This one is a novella that delves mostly into the "mystery" at hand, which is bringing the murderer of Jeff's wife to justice. (The murder took place two years earlier.) While her full-length novels blend the personal with the mystery of the book, in this book Barlett has chosen to concentrate on just one thing. Because of this, minor characters, such as Jeff's sister-in-law Brenda, and girlfriend Maggie, are mostly in the background. This is okay for the purpose of a novella. I've enjoyed how Bartlett has given so much background history in the totality of her Resnick books that the reader feels like she is describing the life of flesh and blood people, rather than fictional characters. I will return to the next Jeff Resnick installments, even though the books are darker than my usual read. I am hooked. I want to read more of what happens in his life and, in this case, what's happened in his past.

Jeff Resnick was married, divorced and mugged, leaving him with the ability to “feel” things other people couldn’t. In this book in the Jeff Resnick series, he and his brother set off for New York City, leaving Richard’s wife and baby daughter and Jeff’s girlfriend back in Buffalo. It’s been four years since Jeff’s wife was brutally murdered, execution style in the men’s room at Grand Central Station. The killer has never been found, but Jeff thinks if he goes back and feels the evidence he can uncover the murderer and but that part of his past behind him. Will he be able to do it? Can he identify the killer and a better question is will the killer be caught and punished?
I have loved this series and LL Bartlett since the beginning of the series. When a new one comes out, I drop everything to read it and I’ve not been disappointed yet. Now I can’t wait for the next one to come out

This novella is about Jeff Resnick, survivor of a serious mugging that left him with a psychic ability. Jeff is empathic and slightly clairvoyant. Jeff's life had been hard even prior to the mugging two years ago. Four years ago, Jeff's wife, Shelley (Michelle) had found herself lost in the world of drugs. They separated, however, Shelley just couldn't break the habit and ended up a casualty of life.

Jeff has to 'lay' his demons in regards to her death. So, he and his brother, Dr. Richard Alpert go to Manhattan, New York City, NY and talk with the Detective in charge of Shelley's case.

This story shows the inner workings of Jeff's mind and heart. The conclusion is sound but you realize Jeff has quite a few more issues to deal with besides his deceased wife.

This was a good short story and makes you want to follow up with Jeff's journey through life and adjusting to his new abilities.

Eyewitness, a mini Jeff Resnick story by L. L. Barltett, is a great read. If you've read Jeff's prior stories, this is one you'll want to get. Jeff may finally get closure regarding his wife's murder. Though he has tried, in the last couple of years, to move on with life, not knowing who the murderer is always haunts him. The fact that he can possibly help the police find the murderer doesn't sit well with his current lady friend, Maggie, but Jeff knows he needs to do what will help him move on with his life.

Without giving the story away -- make sure that you pick this one up. It's a fast, easy read and you'll stay up to get to the end.

I was given an advance copy of this in return for an honest review.

Jeff is finally able to close the chapter on how his wife was murdered in NYC. Jeff finds out who does it, but how justice is served in this complex situation? You'll need to read the book to find out! While you're at it, you'll want to read the entire series. You will love Jeff, Richard and Brenda. I read this in one sitting, staying up past my bedtime, to find out how it all worked out. I highly recommend this book and the series.

I can’t believe how much Bartlett was able to infuse into such a small word count. I assume it's because this was about Shelley, so the emotional stakes were so high.

I'll definitely be rereading this short story when I’ve caught up with the series.

A Tough Decision For Jeff

Tortured Jeff Resnick may finally get some resolution to his wife's murder. When a detective calls for check-in, Jeff decides to take an active role in the investigation. He and Richard travel to Manhattan and Jeff quickly identifies the killer. Jeff is faced with a dilemma since the murderer enjoys immunity from prosecution . What will he do? How will Shelly achieve justice? The solution to this mystery will hopefully resolve Jeff's difficulties. As always, faithful Richard is there to act as Jeff's conscience and companion. I do recommend this book.

Jeff Resnick needs to put closure to the death of his ex-wife so he and his brother Richard travel to Manhattan to try to find out who killed her. Overwhelmed by his psychic ability Jeff learns a great deal but has no way of exacting revenge but perhaps someone else can.

Love the Jeff Resnick series. One complaint...to far between books and not enough full length books.

Short but Sweet

Author was true to her characters but not really a novel. It was enjoyable. Good snapshot tying up loose ends to one of the Jeff Resnick stories.
