I told you that I would comment after I finished the book. Now that I'm done I can add my two cents. How about…you don't cup his seed and swallow instead? Sounds good?

 photo oie_OiuyBaJWIoXL_zpsbanuqadm.png

It's a dick not a staff.

TEXTING:

Me: Grunting is the key to manliness?

Him: It's one of the keys. Also belching, scratching of the balls, being able to spit--not spray--actually spit.

Me: I don't think I like manliness. Can we revisit the flannel? Maybe you should look into it. I bet you'd look good in flannel.

Him: I shave. Daily. I think you have to have a beard to look good in flannel. Also, you are required to be holding an axe. I prefer guns. Besides, all my manliness is done in private.

See? My second visual fits perfectly.

Jen Frederick was a new-to-me author and I requested the title due to the premise of Revealed to Him. The hero, a former Army Ranger, wears two prosthetics; left leg below the knee and left arm. Also, the fact that the heroine was suffering from agoraphobia made the story even more interesting to me. Told in alternating POVs, first person present tense, Revealed to Him started off good. Even knowing who the villain was early into the story did no harm to my overall enjoyment of the author's writing. Also, the way Jake and Natalie were flirting from afar via texts and phone calls was fun. Jake really did appeal to me. A sexy, competent and kind yet physically imperfect alpha male on a mission to taking care of a frightened writer and, ultimately, showering her with some lovin'. Yep, that works just fine for me. I also liked Jake's attitude, "Unlike a lot of other guys, I had the means to get other care, but I was in Bethesda for a time and when you're there, you learn quickly to be grateful for your circumstances because there are always people who have it worse than you."

"I'm scared of many things," I whisper into the phone. "But not of you."
"Good. I'll never give you a reason to be afraid of me. I understand where you are coming from, Natalie. If your only contact with me is over the phone for a while, we'll get creative." His throaty words thrill me. "I suspect writers are really good at being inventive."

Plot-wise, hardly anything happened during the first half, yet it does say something that despite the lack of "action", I liked it nonetheless. I thought the rather slow buildup fit the heroine and her issues. On the other hand, both main protagonists were all about loveydovey, rainbows and hearts once they managed to hit the sheets. Now that was just too insta and quick for me. While we're on it, I didn't particularly like the sex scenes. It's odd but I think not many authors can really pull off a sensual and steamy sex scene written in first person present tense. And even before they jumped each other's bones, the endearments flowed generously which really irked me too.

Anyway, don't judge this book based on a few horrible quotes. I'm dead serious when I say that there weren't that many. I'm just bummed that the story went downhill fast during the second half. It was too sappy and melodramatic for my liking and both MCs grated on my nerves. I found myself rolling my eyes again and again.

"Sweet darling, my sweetest darling."

If anyone asks, I will swear I saw a holy being as Natalie sucked me to the back of her throat.

Hallelujah!

I just can't get over that staff comment.

She smooths the liquid that forms at the top down underneath the sensitive head and then over the heavy blood-infused staff.

 photo oie_261926482H0wwAME_zpsonz64vyi.gif

Bottom line
Revealed to Him wasn't a total bust but unfortunately no winner either. Though readers who love an overly sweet romance might end up enjoying this story.

The hero, Jake Tanner is a pretty wonderful male lead. He's a security specialist, as well as a vet. He's missing limbs due to his service to his Country. He’s protective, sexy and caring. Our heroine, Natalie is a famous writer. She's an agoraphobic who also suffers panic attacks. Jake is hired by Natalie’s cousin to help find out who has been sending her disturbing messages/gifts while securing her condo from possible danger.

It seems that the supporting characters are from a prior series which I haven’t read. So the fun of their additions was pretty lost on me. However, this is a standalone story of Jake and Natalie. The love found between Jake and Lauren was sweet as was waiting for Natalie to actually open her door.

description

I’m back and forth with my rating. I'm not quite sure if I’m being fair for the amount of work that seems to have gone into writing this book. I enjoyed the writing and liked the hero and heroine but I just found that I was kind of bored by the second half of the story.

description

The big reveal of her stalker/tormentor was pretty underwhelming.

description

In the author’s defense, there weren’t many characters in the heroine’s circle to choose from.

Overall, this was a good read that fell off several times along the way in keeping my attention.

He may be war veteran with missing limbs but Jake Tanner has survived and paved a career in security and he's about to be rewarded for all his efforts. By protecting the future love of his life.

So this is it. I can feel my bachelorhood folding its tent and packing itself away, because one night won’t be enough with her.

Where Natalie is a successful gaming developer and author, she lives in crippling fear. It started as severe anxiety but with someone out to get her, Natalie can't leave her home and it's debilitating.

Jake was hired to investigate a threatening note, but the moment he speaks with Natalie, something clicks. Since he understands anxiety and PTSD he has all the sympathy for this agoraphobic girl. Except it's more. Interest and attraction.

This would have to be the most creative courtship between two people who can't meet. And when the do, Jake and Natalie are smouldering together. It's the sweetest love match between two vulnerable people. It couldn't be better!

I’m keeping him. All of him. The flesh parts, the plastic parts, the metal parts. The heart parts. It’s all mine.

I so enjoyed this. I read Revealed to Him years ago and I can say it's withstood the test of time. Jake was the kind of Alpha hero you want to lead while Natalie reaped all the affection and orgasms. Add in a bit of who done it, this was old school romance at it's best.

I didn't realize this was part of a series but it can be read as a stand alone. I didn't read the first two books in the Kerr Chronicles so I couldn't appreciate the other character cameos but it didn't take away from the story.

I was really intrigued with the premise for this story. A famous author, Natalie, is trapped in her apartment by paralyzing fear thanks to threats she's been receiving for years and an attack on her life. Jake Tanner, a vet with a prosthetic arm and leg and security expert, is hired by Natalie's cousin to find out who is tormenting her.

I really enjoyed Jake and thought he was sweet in the way he handled Natalie although, this girl has some serious issues. Jake doesn't meet Natalie until halfway into the book although they've been communicating via email and text for about a week but when they do, they both have these immediate, intense feelings. I really enjoyed was how both of them had insecurities yet neither made the other feel less than.

4 - Being afraid is a shitty way to live. Stars!

I am a big fan of Jen Frederick, I love that her books take a different look at romance, and her couples are always unique in their perspectives and in how they build their connections with each other.

Being honest, I saw some less than stellar reviews for Revealed to Him so it was with a little trepidation that I started the book. Luckily I really enjoyed Jake and Natalie’s story, and pretty much read it in one sitting.

”I wasn’t expecting this.”

Yes I did work out the villain of the piece pretty much as soon as they were bought into the story, but for me it was Jake’s handling of Natalie’s issues, and Natalie’s acceptance of Jake as he was, and the relationship that derived from that, which kept me reading, the suspense was really a secondary part of the story for me.

”You’d be surprised what I’d be willing to do for you.”

Really enjoyable, and once again a little different from the norm. I really hope that Jen carries on with this series it has certainly got life left in it, there are secondary characters that definitely have stories to be told, and it was also great to spend a little more time with Ian Kerr and Tiny.

Title: Revealed to Him
Series: Connected to the Kerr Chronicles series
Author: Jen Frederick
Release date: November 3, 2015
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

Shortly after coming off of the high I got from Jen Frederick's Sacked, I noticed this book on Netgalley. Imagine my excitement when I was approved-to top things off, I realized that this book has characters that were introduced in the Kerr Chronicles. As I adore that series as well, my hopes were climbing pretty high. This is the story of Jake, Ian's friend who runs his own security company.

Jake was a great hero, he's ex-military and lost two limbs in the service. He didn't let defeat him however. He picked himself up, adjusted to living with his prostheses. I really liked the fact that not only did the author create a hero with physical limitations, but a heroine with a mental disorder. Where Jake is well adjusted, Natalie, our heroine is struggling to get through each day.

After being a victim of online bullying and threats, she had hate mail sent to her and was attacked in the subway. It left her with a severe case of agoraphobia-an anxiety disorder in which the sufferer fears leaving the house and being in public places. For Natalie, the perceived danger is all too real and she doesn't know how to get past the crippling fear that overwhelms her when she steps out her door. She even has a hard time meeting new people and allowing them in her apartment.

Her life of self-inprisonment consists mainly of writing her popular science fiction books. The only three people who exist in her world are her cousin, her editor, and her therapist. The loneliness is crushing, so when Jake enters her life, it's huge. Her cousin hires him to protect her after the past threats start up again. While I enjoyed the different way that these two got to know one another, I felt that it was very slow moving for a lot of the first half of the book. Since Natalie is so uncomfortable meeting new people, she had to talk and text with Jake over the phone and a friendship grew slowly into attraction without them even seeing one another. What really made me fall for him was the fact that he was so considerate and patient with her condition. He gave her the time and patience that she needed.

How could I not tumble head over hells in lust with him? I don't even want to stop the fall.

I liked that-a lot. But for me, it dragged on too long, and I was ready for them to move things along.

After she finally let him in her home, it seemed like Jake's feelings for her grew at an unrealistic rate. He went from like, to lust, to love pretty quickly and I wasn't feeling their connection as much as I should have.

Maybe I was lost the first time I saw her. I don't care. This was where I want to be. Where I'll always want to be.

I think the problem could have been in part due to the excessive inner dialogue. There was a massive amount of Natalie's thoughts over her fears and condition, as well as Jake in regards to his disability. As much as I appreciated the author's attention to detail and her clear time spent on researching these issues, it slowed down the pace of the story and left me feeling somewhat disconnected to the love story.

I did love the supporting characters and I'm glad I read the book. It had more insight into Jake's sister and his friend (I want that book-bad) and we even got a couple of scenes with Ian thrown in. Overall, this was a good read, not one of my favorites from this author, but worth a try if you're a fan of the Kerr Chronicles series.

I wish this book was longer simply because I didn't want to stop reading it. I loved, loved, loved Natalie and Jake. This book was every thing I was hoping for, something different, something new. Natalie is agoraphobic and Jake is an amputee. I found both characters really interesting. The writer obviously did her research about both topics and did a great job of giving the reader a realistic presentation of both. I especially found all the information we get about Jake's prosthetic's really fascinating. I also loved how both characters took each other as they were. They offered support but never wanted each other to change who they were. They didn't need to be perfect.

I admired Natalie and related to her a great deal as I also struggle with anxiety. Her strength was inspiring and I thought the author did an amazing job of representing how overwhelming anxiety can really get. Jake was my favourite though, he's my new book boyfriend for sure. Nothing like a stacked ex-ranger who will do anything to protect the people he loves to steam up your reader ;)

This book has characters for the Kerr Chronicles series which I really loved, Ian, Tiny, Kage and Sabrina were great side characters. This is a stand alone book but I would recommend reading the Kerr series simply because its a great series.

And so I end my review with this plea to Jen Frederick,
PLEASE WRITE KAGA'S BOOK NEXT!!!

3.5-4 stars

Let me begin by saying that the Adobe Digital Editions copy of this book was a really bad copy. Missing pages, paragraphs, especially the text/email exchanges, some spelling mistakes. Kindle copy MUCH better! Now everything makes sense!

I was dreading reading this book a little bit as friends that got an ARC were not thrilled by it. From their reviews I can see and understand where certain things didn't work for them but fortunately they mostly worked for me! I quite liked and enjoyed this book. And for fans of Jen Frederick that have read her other works we get to see a little bit of Ian and Tiny from the Kerr Chronicles!

description

Jake Tanner is a veteran amputee with his own security firm.

description
I truly loved Jake. I loved his character, his strength, his protectiveness but also his vulnerability. Even though he accepted the loss of his limbs and learned how to be functional again he showed the reader that it's always a work in progress.

"I'm not always comfortable with my prosthetics. When I go out, a good part of me wants to shove my stump in other people's faces, and another good part wants to be ignored. Most of the time I'm just grateful to be alive, functioning. But I have my moments."

He was so understanding of Natalie and her anxiety. He knew what it was like to be afraid and feel trapped by it. He helped her as much as he possibly could, not only with words that gave her food for thought but with his actions too.

"Then you try to go to sleep and wake up to face the next day. And the next, until fear is the thing that keeps you sharp instead of the thing that makes you bleed."

"You laugh. You listen. Perfect people are boring, Natalie. You know what you're getting with a perfect person every day and you have to be perfect too.[..]"

It was also very interesting to read about his day-to-day with his prosthetics. Taking them off, putting them on,various kinds of them, I knew several of these facts but reading about them more in depth was any eye-opener. Like not being able to have hot showers because the next day the limbs are more swollen and the prosthetic wont fit properly. I also didn't know about DARPA - Defense Advanced Research Project Agency. Jen Frederick could have written tons more about the subject and I would have kept reading about it quite happily. (Not in the book, but did you know that they can 3D-print functioning hand prosthetics now? If not, now you do.)

Natalie Beck is what you could call an agoraphobic.
description
description
She is a gamer, a reader and a writer. Natalie along with several others designed a very popular game, and instead of using her real name for it she used a male pseudonym. When she was discovered apparently some people were incredibly mad about it. Honestly I don't get why they were mad.. But there are weirdos and trolls out there aplenty so I guess it makes a weird kind of sense.

She was under attack from all mediums culminating in a physical attack in the subway. After that she shuts her self off from the world. She has severe anxiety and is unable to leave her apartment without having panic attacks. She's been consistently beaten down but she keeps clawing herself back up again. She wants to get better and tries every day to push her limits until a threatening note sets her back.

Her meeting Jake changes her world. They start talking and she feels, for the first time in a while, an attraction to another being. Jake offers unconditional understanding and tries to get to know her on her terms. Her acceptance of Jake's prosthetics as something totally normal and not disgusting or scary helps him overcome his vulnerability over them. Soon the chemistry between them ignites and overruns her fears. I wouldn't have minded if the pace was a little slower but I enjoyed their coming together regardless.

The sexy times were pretty hot and I ignored a sentence or two that I didn't like much.
description

Some sentences didn't flow well with the writing and pulled me out of the book here and there but I can forgive them. I figured out the baddie relatively easy and my suspicions and thoughts about it were pretty spot on. I wont elaborate as that would be basically spoiling most of the plot.

In conclusion, if the plot intrigues you, give it a shot you might just like it.

"You aren't going to lose me. I'm not going anywhere."

This is the story of Jake and Natalie
When security expert Jake gets called in to find the culprit behind some menacing pranks terrorizing a young woman, he expect to handle it like any other assignment. Until he meets shy, quirky and intensely agoraphobic Natalie.

Natalie hasn't left her apartment in three years. After being scorned, ridiculed and bullied so severely, in the past, she became so frightened and panic stricken, even the simple act of opening the door became crippling. When a faceless enemy returns to torment her, Natalie decides she's not ready to give up a second time. Tired of being afraid and of letting life pass her by, Natalie is ready to fight for a chance to live and a chance to love free of fear.

Meeting Jake, a confident and strong man, someone who has seen and done and lived what he's lived, gives Natalie the courage and determination to finally put it all out there and face her fears. This time around, Natalie is ready to fight her demons and claim the life she's always dreamed of.

What I loved:
This was a five star read because I honestly fell in love with both MCs.

Hands down I loved Jake. A war veteran with his own demons to battle, he was never selfish, cruel, or hurtful towards Natalie. As a double amputee, Jake knew all about fearing the unknown and the challenges of overcoming your own imposed hurdles. I loved his realism, his complexity and his depth. I instantly connected with him and loved his complete devotion to Natalie.

Natalie, with her unabashed nature, goofy ramblings and guileless honesty won me over completely. I was laughing, crying, and falling in love right along side her. She was interesting and above all, hopeful. At times things got a bit dark for her but she always picked herself up and got stronger because of it. Meeting Jake was just the cherry on top of this awesome sundae :) Natalie and Jake are definitely an OTP. There is no doubt in my mind that these two were destined to be together. They just clicked so completely and on such a deep level. I loved that their's was not your typical love at first sight story since technically they fell for each other before ever setting eyes on one another. They first connected through text messages and then phone calls before meeting face to face. The attraction is both intellectual and physical. And the physical was smoking!

What I didn't like:
After everything that Natalie goes through, I was out for blood! I was expecting some major violence, some hard core comeuppance to happen so I was bummed that things ended so drama free.

And because I'm a picky reader - one tiny little gripe - did we really need constant reminders of Natalie's lackluster ex and the countless women of Jake's past? I let it slide because there are no explicit or details OM/OW scenes and it did highlight the difference between their past relationships and what they have with each other.

Favorite Line(s):
Jake being the voice of reason.
"...wake up to face the next day. And the next, until fear is the thing that keeps you sharp instead of the thing that makes you bleed."

Natalie claiming her man. Completely.
... he's mine now and I'm keeping him. All of him. The flesh parts, the plastic parts, the metal parts. The heart parts. It's all mine.

JF knows how to write characters that pull out your heart strings.
The things he says, the intimate, private thoughts that tumble from his lips are so moving, so real. I don't know why this man has walked into my life, but I treasure him.

Memorable Moments:
I pretty much loved this whole book but that ending?! LOVED THAT ENDING! It was so hopeful and promising. It showed us a bit more of the awesomeness that is Jake and a more confident and happy Natalie.

I may never be able to walk the streets of this city with ease. I may never get farther than five blocks from our house, but I'm outside. I'm no longer a prisoner, not in my home or in my own mind.

A very close second is their unconventional first date. I fell for Jake right alongside Natalie. Their innocent and flirty banter was adorable and their easy friendship and trust hooked me. Their love is pretty instant but justifiable. These two belong together and the crazy hot heat they generate was also pretty memorable :)

Revealed to him was built on an entirely different premise than Frederick's first two books in this series. I ended up loving Tiny and Ian's story, and while Jake and Natalie were enjoyable characters and the idea behind this plot were good, the execution fell somewhat short for me. It wasn't bad at all, just not as good as I expected for a couple of specific reasons.

First off, Jake and Natalie don't officially meet in person until 54% into the book. They have a week...give or take a day or two...of texting and phone conversations first. While I can understand these circumstances can build excitement and give a person a surface-level understanding of someone, this pseudo-relationship was not enough for me to consider it a romance yet. They spoke mostly of Natalie's agoraphobia and the events leading up to her break down. They touched on a few personal things but not much. When they do meet, their intense feelings for each other are almost immediate. I'm usually okay with the love at first site schtick, but under these circumstances, this just didn't work for me. Possibly because so much of their feelings were blurred by Natalie's overpowering mental illness. I mean, this girl has issues, big time. I understand Jake's need to rescue the damsel in distress, but I wished we'd have gotten more healing and dealing than was presented.

Jake was somewhat frustrating for me even in books one and two, when he is presented as an overprotective brother keeping his sister away from the man that she loves. I may be a little biased because I think Asian men are divine, but Kaga is my newest book boyfriend, and I haven't even read his book yet. So Jake kind of rubs me the wrong way when he is still a hard ass about Kaga dating his sister.

Things I loved...I loved the way Jake's prosthetics weren't glossed over. He lost a hand and a leg in the war, and his disability became a major part of the story. Minor details like phantom limb pain and daily care of his stumps, the different prosthetics, etc, were a normal thing to read about. It made it less mysterious, and it wasn't used as a titillation factor. It was used to show how strong Jake was and how well Natalie fit into his life. She made him feel normal...not like a freak, not like someone who had a metal and plastic arm and leg. She made him feel whole again, and that was really beautiful to read about. They really ended up being a good fit for each other.

DNF 11% - Barely 2 stars

I don't know if this is the fastest DNF I ever did but it sure feels that way...and I almost fell bad about that because I really like this author and so far I loved this series...

description

Like many of my friends I was intrigued by the blurb of this book because every now and then I love a good character that is flawed (on the outside and on the inside) so a novel in which the main female character suffers from acute anxiety and agoraphobia and the male character is a veteran and amputee fits my bill to a tee :)

But unfortunately that wasn't the case when after TEXTING with him for less then 24 hours she fucks everything up with ten little words...

"He's perfect and I'm half in love with him already."

Happy book birthday

An emotional, character driven story, filled with passion, steam, sweetness and fun I will no soon forget.

Born to a wealthy family, Jake Tanner could’ve had an easy charmed life. But his sense of honor and duty led him to enlist in the armed forces. After leaving the army rangers due to an incident that took his left arm and foot, he’s now a proud veteran, owner of a prosperous security company. He has friends, a loving family, doesn’t suffer from a shortage of willing women to warm his bed. He’s has conquered adversity and leads fairly content life. But when he sort of meets his newest client, his deep seated protector instincts flare like never before. Can he cross the professional line without risking Natalie’s safety?
"You learn quickly to be grateful for your circumstances because there are always people who have it worse than you."

Video game and science fiction writer Natalie Beck suffers from severe anxiety due to too many threats and an actual attack. She’s house bound, but she’s also determined to be free of bindings be rejoin society. Even if this proves almost impossible as she can’t even bring herself to open her front door, much less meet new people. Her only contacts with other people are limited to her cousin, her editor and her therapist. But Jake has skillfully inserted himself in her life, and the more they get to know one another the more she begins to trust him and let the embers of desire burn. Will she accept his love or will she retreat even further into her almost complete solitude?

When I’ve read an author before and truly liked them, I usually don’t check for blurbs or other reviews when it comes to their new material. I just dive right in and was amazed with this story that even though main characters hadn’t met face to face, that the buildup was relatively slow and only through incredibly flirty and sweet chats and calls, I couldn’t stop flipping through the pages. I was entranced with the character development and loved that it felt so different from other contemporary romances I’ve read recently.
Me: Grunting is the key to manliness?
Him: It's one of the keys. Also belching, scratching of the balls, being able to spit--not spray--actually spit.
Me: I don't think I like manliness. Can we revisit the flannel? Maybe you should look into it. I bet you'd look ood in flannel.
Him: I shave. Daily. I think you have to have a beard to look good in flannel. Also, you are required to be holding an axe. I prefer guns. Besides, all my manliness is done in private.

I think it was brilliant how Jen combined a very disturbed agoraphobe with a very well-adjusted amputee veteran. Besides loving the attention to detail I’m sure was due to serious research on the author’s behalf, Natalie and Jake made for very interesting characters who were a perfect fit for one another, accepting each other as they were.

Jake was captivating with his perfectly imperfect body and fearless alphaness. He was patient, considerate and completely devoted to loving and helping Natalie. I admired Natalie’s strength and resolve and how she made Jake feel whole and completely normal.
"I'm scared of many things," I whisper into the phone. "But not of you."
"Good. I'll never give you a reason to be afraid of me. I understand where you are coming from, Natalie. If your only contact with me is over the phone for a while, we'll get creative."

Even though I predicted early on who was behind the attacks, this did not take away from my enjoyment of the swoony romance. My only complaint is that at the end, even though the protagonists get their happy ending, I did have a few unanswered questions.

Never the less, I feel the need to read the past books in the Kerr Chronicles with Ian and Victoria, as they rounded out the story nicely along with Jake’s sister and his friend Kaga. I can’t wait to read the next installment.

Revealed to Him is book #3 in Kerr Chronicles series by Jen Frederick. Told from both point of view, with a happy ending. It can be read as a standalone.

The Good : An ex-military hero who lost his hand and part of his leg during his service, and an agoraphobic heroine? You just don’t see that every day. Their physical and mental issues, respectively, are dealt with in a believable manner. I enjoyed the fact that the story is told from both their POV, because I need that balance to the story.

The Bad : Unfortunately, there is a lack of spark when it comes to the romance and it made everything feel stiffer than Jake’s artificial leg. I think in the desire to be accurate regarding Jake and Natalie’s issues, the story came off stilted, awkward and lifeless. Also, both Jake and Natalie have severe cases of insta-love. I'm not automatically opposed to that, but here, I just didn’t buy it. Intrigued? Possibly, but they were practically in love before Jake set foot in her apartment. It really hindered my enjoyment. Add to this the fact that the villains can practically be spotted from space and I rolled my eyes more often than is probably good for my vision.

Everything in Between : I guess I was more intrigued with Jake’s friends Ian and Kaga more than the romance I was reading, so the extra star's for the fact that I might give their books a shot.

Meh. A really intriguing premise brought down by a clinical feeling romance, it just didn’t work for me.

Revealed to Him by Jen Frederick
Actual Rating: 4.5 stars

The good:

- Our hero, Jake, actually deserves the title. He's a stand up guy, total sweetheart, and apparently was not a manwhore before he met the heroine. Oh, and he's a former Army Ranger who enlisted after 9/11.
- Jake and Natalie have an amazing bond. One of the few books where I actually FELT the main characters love and admiration for each other.
- Natalie's struggle with agoraphobia is mostly handled well. Even though she loves Jake and makes the decision to work on improving, she isn't magically "cured" over the course of the book.

The bad:
- Some of the plot is a little melodramatic and ridiculous, especially when it's revealed who's been harassing Natalie. Seriously, how many people are out to get this girl??
- Jake's ex randomly wants to get back together at one point. He wasn't into it and rejected her, but it was weird and didn't add anything to the plot except to maybe prove that Jake is super desirable or something. But it's not like most readers need to be sold on a super hot, loving, retired Army Ranger, you know?

A sexy heartwarming romantic suspense!!!! Jen Frederick continues to captivates her readers as she dazzles us with her newest release Revealed To Him. In this sexy romantic suspense, Ms. Frederick was able to create a touching storyline while weaving undertones of strength, hope, solace, and overcoming one's fear.

#RevealedToHim

And most importantly, can Jake find the perpetrator and help Natalie?

#RevealedToHim1

Revealed To Him was one of those reads that I found myself devouring in one sitting. This book had the emotional pull that kept me intrigued with Natalie as she battles with agoraphobia. I loved that Ms. Frederick allowed readers to really feel and see how debilitating living with agoraphobia is. I adored Jake Tanner. His sweet, caring, and protective side was shown and felt throughout the book. I loved that this book sends a message that when you love someone you do not see the flaws. So if you are looking for book that was able to weave a sexy emotional romantic suspense filled with the prospect of hope then I would recommend you to read this book.

Natalie is living life in fear. She's a writer who has an anonymous stalker. She's been receiving threatening notes and lives in fear of leaving her house. She doesn't let anyone in and she never goes out. Her cousin, Logan, hires a security company to look into the threats Natalie is receiving. Jake owns the security firm Logan hires. He's a veteran who was injured in the line of duty. When he meets Natalie, he feels something for her that he's never felt before and he'll do anything he can to protect her.

This is the first book I have read in this series and I absolutely loved it! Jake was so swoon-worthy. He was so patient and kind with Natalie, doing everything he could to keep her safe. The sexy scenes in this book were really hot. I loved the chemistry between these two characters. There was a lot of suspense in this story - who was threatening Natalie and why?? I really loved this book and can't wait to read more by this author!

I really enjoyed this book.

It is about Natalie who is a woman who suffers from agoraphobia from being harassed and attacked. She is now a shut in trying to work thru her fears. The hero Jake is hired to provide security for her after the harassment seems to start again. They begin a friendship that develops into more. It was very sweet how they begin their relationship and Jake was truly sweet is how he helped her and cared. Natalie was really sweet and I liked her. There was definitely some hot moments and funny moments. It was really low angst which I love and more insta love than anything slow. I really loved their story and would recommend.

Hero: 9/10
Humour: 1/10
Hotness: 5/10
Romance: 7/10

Revealed to Him is a delightful romance with angst, mystery & two broken characters.

Taking a look at some of the lower star ARC reviews here, I can totally understand why they gave it fewer stars. But, I loved it.

Our heroine, Natalie is an author, who wrote a story for a game and suffered a lot of harassment after her gender was revealed to the public. She's been shut in her apartment for three years with anxiety. After a mysterious note arrives at her door, her cousin hires Security Manager, ex-army & prosthetic limb wearer, Jake, to investigate.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I only knocked this book down a little, because of the short time span of the romance; four weeks, it needed to be longer for a more convincing intensity. And because I wasn't really interested in the previous' series characters nor was i interested in the one too many comments on how 'other' women act with Jake.

I enjoyed the slow build & the way the couple fell into place. They were just as sweet as they were sexy. Both adored each other. I thoroughly enjoyed their phone conversations, the fact that they started falling for one another before they met.

I LOVED: their first meeting, the surprising insecurities Jake had, the cool & calmness of him as well as his anger & protectiveness. I loved Natalie's wit, her adoration for Jake, her sweet demeanour and the way she was so sexually eager.

I'm really looking forward to the next in the series.

How to say this without being an asshole "asshole"...

Revealed to Himis the kind of book that takes me outside of my comfort zone. I'm not new to heroines with intense phobias and but this is the first time that I get to read a story about a heroine who is agoraphobic.

I admit at first I'm really skeptical and my eyebrows rose too many times when the author describes what the heroine was feeling. Thoughts like " Is this really happening in real life?", "Isn't this over the top?" , " This is kind weird." crossed my mind.

AND I FEEL SO FUCKING ASHAMED OF MYSELF.

I, who feels that mental illness should be taken seriously the same way with physical illness is being treated, is having insensitive and callous thoughts?! I, who keeps on telling people not to take these things lightly and should be treated with respect have asshole thoughts that is waaaaay more assholey than I usually do?

I'm really ashamed and I'm really sorry.

I know that agoraphobia is not a joke and these things that happens to the heroine really happens in real life (I researched it). I feel like I was one of those people who says "it's all in your head" to those people who is/are battling depression and I'm really really sorry about my thoughts.

Shame on me and shame on all the teachings that my mother taught me.

description

What really put me in my place is the hero. Jake was the guy who takes Natalie's problem seriously. He is not dismissive about her phobia and let me just say that a guy who knows how to slow down and do things one at a time is commendable.

Apologize in advance for this disjointed review. I wrote a better one, then shut off my computer before I saved it, then forgot and read another book. Sooo...my memory is fuzzy.

Listened via audio (free with KU membership). Narrators were awesome. But then again Sebastian York is pretty much always awesome!

It was sweet. Like really sweet. Hero gets an award for the most patient and understanding man ever. Heroine was so majorly fucked up mentally (agoraphobia & PTSD) that they never even met until 50% into the book. I just could not identify with her, nor understand his fascination with her. I have never read about so much vomit in a romance book. Or maybe any book but a horror.

Once we hit 50% the book sizzles. But the issues continue. The suspense plot was not bad but the book was mostly about the MCs. Because I could not identify with the h and could not understand why the H was attracted to her, it was just ok for me.

Re-Read 2/4/16

4 happy stars

The writing flowed nicely which is not always the case for JF books.

Jake the H gets 5 stars. I loved him w/ his confident does what he needs to do to survive in life. He is a fantastic H.

“You don’t get extra life points for forgiving someone who dicked you over.”

I also really liked Natalie the h. She has such strength.

I believed in the H/h emotional connection but I wanted more time w/ them. Jake was protective and loving towards the h maintained a strong personality which I love. Some hot sex scenes which always makes me happy.

I loved the scenes w/ H and his friends. Made me smile.

I'm not rating it higher b/c the plot wasn't fully resolved. Well more like I wanted to know the future of people involved in the plot.

I'm meh about Jake's sister Bri (I thought she was a brat at times ) who will probably be paired up w/ his friend Kaga who I really want to know.

Jen Frederick is quickly becoming one of my go to authors when I'm in a book slump. Her characters appeal from the first page and I find myself pushing them on through her books.

Though there were a few parts in this book were the writing seemed a bit disjointed to what had just occurred, I really enjoyed the story of Jake and Natalie. It helps that I have suffered from agoraphobia for 16 years and spent a good portion of my teenage years not leaving the house. This enabled me to connect with her very quickly and I don't know how anyone can not love Jake. Both of their issues were dealt with very well and gives an outsider who has not experienced those things a good insight into everyday life.

Add into that some hot sex and dirty talk and I ended up really liking this book, especially seeing as it didn't mention "flaps" which is not a turn on at all, thank you very much!

This book was like 2.78 stars. I didn't realize that it would be following a different set of characters to the first two books in the series. I mentioned that I would review the series as a whole, but I'm going to backtrack on that. I think I enjoyed this story more than the previous two. I liked that we had diverse characters in Natalie who suffers from agoraphobia, and Jake who uses prosthetic limbs.

The rest of the story fell short for me. The "twists" were predictable. Nonetheless, it was an entertaining afternoon of reading. I do find that I much preferred Jen's Gridiron Series (Sacked & Jockblocked).

3.5* and spoilers ahead

A few years ago Natalie helped create a game that became very popular, when it was revealed that she was a female she was viciously attacked on social media, stalked and threatened until it escalated into an attack on her in the subway. Because of this she turns into a shut in, having severe panic attacks if she even attempts to leave the house. She made a bit of progress but an attack via mail causes her to regress badly. She's managed to have a successful career as a bestselling author but is still unable to leave her house. Her cousin hires security to help her feel safe and find the person who sent the mail.

We met Jake in book 1 as one of Ian's friends (Ian*drools*) he's recently started his own security company and is a double amputee. He goes to meet Natalie but her disorder makes it impossible for her to actually come out and meet him. Her voice though captivates the badass security expert and he takes an interest in Natalie. They start texting, emailing and calling each other because Natalie is still unable to leave her home. As the threat agsnst her escalates the two grow closer and fall in love.

I've read only 1 book with an h with the same condition but this one goes more in depth. Natalie has some truly horrible experiences as she struggles to do something that most people take for granted. My heart broke for her and I cheered her on loudly, hoping that she'd be able to conquer her fears. Jake made me swoon, he really tried with Natalie and refused to give up on her. He had his own insecurities and made a bonehead move at first but he quickly sorts through his issues is loyal, patient and sweet to his girl. His attitude to his sister and Kaga was tough but I feel thats because he knows something we don't. Even though it was tough watching her struggle I was grateful that Natalie wasn't magically cured by good dick but was able to continue her therapy and help herself.

The bad guys on this one disgusted me because they were trusted individuals who tortured poor Natalie for their own gains. I wanted them to suffer much more than they did.

There were some references to women Jake's been with but no OW drama, Natalie hadn't had sex in years.

I did skim just a tiny bit and found their relationship moved fast but I definitely enjoyed the heck out of this!

Good plot, good execution, likeable mcs, excellent secondary characters (Ian Kerr!!!!!!) and steamy sexy times made this another hit for me from this author.

***********I'm ever hopeful Kaga gets a book though I see this series was published a while ago I'm still holding onto hope!

The men of this series are the reason I read romance 😍

Although intrigued with the blurb and familiar with the author, I was a little leery of Revealed to Him. I wasn't sure if I could relate to a heroine with agoraphobia. I didn't need to worry. Within just a few pages I knew I was in for a treat.

I love how this book puts a spotlight on PTSD and also the trials that our soldiers who have left pieces of themselves behind on a battlefield go through every day. Between Natalie's PTSD/Agoraphobia and Jake's struggles as a double amputee, the reader gets an insight into the everyday struggles that these two fought through whether it be daily pain caused from prosthesis', no matter how expensive they are, to fear so great you vomit at the thought of leaving a place you consider safe.

Because of Natalie's issues with leaving her home, we are only introduced to a handful of characters. No worries, since the banter between Jake and Natalie plus the internal dialogue of the main characters just made this book for me. At times I would laugh out loud, then I would be struck by something so ...I hate to use this word but it fits - deep, I would have to pause for a minute just to think about things.

Jake our alpha-sweet hero is probably going to be topping the list of favorite H's for a while. The thought and caring he put into helping Natalie absolutely blew me away. Natalie, at first blush, could easily be thought of as weak. She was anything but. Suffering from a debilitating condition -yes. Weak -heck no. Her determination to overcome her issues got me past any thoughts I had as to what type of character she was. As the story unfolded and we started getting glimpses into what was really going on, my admiration for her grew.

Not just a contemporary romance, we have a mystery to solve. I'm really good at predicting outcomes (much to the annoyance of my family) so I called things at 20% but didn't have the mystery 100% unraveled until a little later. With such a small pool of characters to pick from, I can't say the book made things hard to figure who did what when. I did think that for at least one character, things went a little OTT and hard to swallow as all was revealed.

Though I had things solved things early on, I adored the book. In fact, I plan on reading the first two books in the Kerr Chronicles as soon as I can get to them.

3 the highest I gave Stars. You don’t have to read the Kerr Chronicles although they do appear in this book.
As with everything in life. Every long journey begins with one step.
So I have read several Jen Frederik books and I like her style. The last one I read didn’t really sit well with me but this book is more mature than her other books.
I loved the premise of the book. The H is a former Ranger who has his own business but has a prosthetic (both arm and leg) who is well established in life and shows it as well.
The h has agoraphobia, panic attacks you name it. And is trying to deal with it.
Oliver, Natalie’s cousin employs Jake Tanner from Tanner Security. Jake and Natalie strike up a relationship via text and email. Which I really enjoyed.
So I knew who the culprits were I must say it was a given to be honest. I always find it hard that there is not always the right amount of romance and suspense. There was no balance here at all.
I know that Daphne in her own twisted way wants to help Natalie but she is doing a really bad job. Lock yourself in your flat even more than before and write chapter after chapter so that I can make loads of money.
Her cousin Oliver isn’t much better and don’t even get me started on her frigging therapist.
Good secondary characters and all that. I still like Ms. Frederick as an author.

I think I love Jake&Natalie more than Ian&Tiny. There's just something to be said about love that was born not from physical attraction but from deeper connection. From understanding and needing to lessen another person's pain.
I love how Jake was the only one who knew that Natalie was strong enough and capable enough. He gave her room to breath, literally and figuratively. And he always knew the right thing to say.

"What if - what if I can't open the door?"
"Then I sit on one side and you sit on the other."
"You'd do that for me?" My heart pounds frantically at the thought - half in panic and half in excitement.
Another of his long thoughtful pauses follows before he answers. "You'd be surprised what I'd be willing to do for you."

The fact that they fell in love without seeing each other for almost half the book is amazing and made their first face to face contact just priceless.

"You don't look anything like Seth Rogen."
"I - I don't know what to say to that."

How could you not love Natalie, with all her quirks, when she loved Jake with all his baggage? The good things and the bad?

"The stump isn't an attractive thing."
"It's part of you. You're hot. Ergo, your stumps are hot. Are we done with this conversation?"

See what I mean? They are just perfect for each other.
Over and out.

DNF

I wanted this to work, but it did not.
I love when there is a slow build up, but this was too slow. The heroine's BFF, annoyed me and then the heroine began to annoy me. It also felt like there was too much babble.

The heroine was attacked by hate mail and then other things which had her not want to leave her apartment. Natalie's cousin hires a security team to help Natalie feel more secure. Natalie first starts texting and then calling the hero, Jake, the man who owns the security firm. A friendship develops even though Natalie is too afraid to even leave her bedroom when Jake comes inside her apartment. There is even a scene where Jake eats in the balcony and Natalie eats inside her apartment because she can't handle having someone near her that she does not know. Even though at this point she has talked to Jake several time via text and phone. Jake is ex-military who lost his arm and leg during service.

I love these type of stories, but the execution of this one, in my opinion, was weak.

I could not connect. I ended up skimming a lot. Dual POVs. A lot of the plot felt repetitive.
