Really liked this one, even though I don't know how the premise is possible. No one checks on the wife in two years? He actually lets contact just slip away??

The toddler was adorable, and actually acted like a toddler for a change. Recommend.

Too long and drawn out. And, like 2 years ??! Reallllllyyy?!? The mmc who is a billionaire btw, couldn’t find the time to drop in for a visit to his wife at all during that time ?!? Or have her fly out for a few ?!? And hardly a text or call during those two years ?!??! Gurl, divorce.

The ow drama was lame. No gut punches really felt.
The dialogue was so clipped, gah the steamy scenes were so funny to read bc of this .

Then having to read, -“Nora.” a hundred and fifty million times was irksome and also - “I know.” appears just as many times as the name Nora and wow, was I annoyed. And while I’m on the topic of the name Nora - this is the 3rd or 4th time that this name is used in a story I’ve read - it must be a an ai fav. 1.5 stars

Good story

Spoilers

I was a good story but some of the plot was just to much to believe.

First you can't play victim when you never told him you was pregnant or had his child. You talk to him multiple times. When you had him on the phone, YOU lied, YOU changed your mind and didn't tell him.

You can't blame him for not being thier for a daughter YOU REFUSED to tell him about.

There was one comment where she was thinking about how to afford diapers. Excuse me, your husband is a billionaire, no where was there he isn't sharing money with you.

Why couldn't she fly out to him, im sorry but really you wasn't working, why not go with him.

And why him having a child by his wife such a big scandal. How does that make the company look bad

Ok read

This was an ok read. The main thing I like, even though it wasn't needed, was the author had a strong woman who knew in the mist of a broken marriage that she loved her husband and taking the other guy up on his offer was not for her. Technically, book would have been just fine without even having the other guy. Plus, how good a guy is he for making moves on a woman in a painful situation and still married. Anyways, I liked that a lot because authors tend to write women as weak and needing a guy to make them feel worthy even when they know they love their man still and can find their self worth within themselves. This book wasn't perfect. The whole 2 whole years and he couldn't find a way to talk to her??? Authors need to be a little realistic. Teo years and he couldn't fly home? Get her to come? Maybe 3 months, 6 at the most but this was a bit of a stretch especially as the author shows his feelings as a man who loves his wife and not 100% consumed by work. There needed to be more thought put into that.

just tell your husband

I didn’t finish this book after the home coming chapter . The wife’s self righteous indignation with her husband really annoyed me . I get your unhappy with your husband who was supposed to be overseas for five months and it turned into 2 years. But why on earth didn’t you file for divorce if you were that unhappy.Instead you chose to deliberately withhold your pregnancy and the birth of your child . Your husband can be a shitty husband but a good father but he has to know he’s actually a father first . I don’t agree with women weaponising their children. To hurt their partners because that’s exactly what she did . And how come her parents or her best friend never spoke up and said Daniel really should know he’s a father . It was just all so unnecessary if I can’t get in touch with my partner to tell him I’m pregnant then I’m getting on a plane telling him to his face and telling him I’m unhappy ( not with the baby) with the marriage and I want a separation.

For all of the complaints from other reviewers, which are somewhat understandable, I found this story really engaging and emotional. Sure, some things were OTT, like being gone for two years, but it is a story. A fictional one. And I bet there are wealthy people who live like this.

What I loved was the heart displayed from both the hero and heroine. He was blinded by success, she was in a place where his absence kept mounting and for all of the set backs in trying to communicate to him and realizing where his head was really at, I could understand her withholding the pregnancy from him. She knew he would have just rationalized not coming home and he even admitted that. So going along with the story it had me emotionally invested. He wasn't a creep. He wasn't arrogant. He was just so absorbed in the wrong commitment. And that was what he realized and owned up to. The ending was lovely. The OW got her comeuppance, Grandma got her smack down and the HEA was lovely.

Recovering romance

Left behind, pregnant and ignored. Daniel leaves for a multi month project overseas, leaving his wife, Nora, in shock and unknowing pregnant, looks at her life without him. Limited contact because Daniel’s assistant blocks her calls and messages. Two years later, Daniel returns and is surprised he has a daughter and a wife who no longer wants him or needs him. What follows is a story of a woman sure of herself and a man who has to learn to be a real husband and father. Good read.

Put me to sleep Bedtime Reading.
(I have very low expectations for these AI generated novellas that are all clones.)

In this one, the plot is okay for this genre, but the dialogue is cringe-worthy. Yes, I get it's a joke that toddlers say "No" a lot. But every single line the child says? Over a long period of time? (Surely her vocabulary grows as she does?!?) Along with cringe-worthy non-stop flirty commentary about the constant "No!" by her parents? Ooooogh. So bad.

Human intervention and editing needed BADLY.

long deployment

This was a wonderful second chance romance. He let his job keep him from home way too long. In real life, I think he or she would have called to talk in person. If he was concerned that she sounded off, why didn’t he call her parents? If he had known she was pregnant, would he have come home? Maybe, maybe not. He was pretty oblivious about Charlotte. He let her control too much of his life and she eventually paid for that. But, he turned into the man his wife needed before it was too late. Good HEA

Not telling the husband/father he is about to be a father just because you don't know if he'll show up is insane; he still deserved to know and given the chance to show up. This isn't when a woman doesn't inform the father because she doesn't know if he'll stay with her for sake of love but for the sake of the pregnancy and tells him after she knows either way. This was just the wife being vindictive.

Fantastic grovel!

This was one of the best marriage in crisis stories I’ve read!
Love how Nora and Daniel love each other, yet Daniel’s priorities take precedence over Nora. They also get supported by Charlotte - an assistant employee of Daniel’s that works closely with him. She abuses her company access to Daniel’s relationship detriment.

Great story and highly recommended!

Addictive Book

Loved the story and the writing was exceptional. The personalities were well defined and the narrative had a human touch. It seems relevant now to use terms “cost more than my rent” and other non sensical terms as relevant when having normal conversations. I just wish authors would stop doing it. It is not normal and reduces the book to looking like an AI structure.

I have thoughts

I don’t give 5 stars very often but this book absolutely delivered. The situation is a bit of a stretch but it works for this story. There is a lot of strong emotions that drags the reader deep into the world the author paints. I read this in one sitting which is a first for me. This is absolutely a must read.

Three stars with an explanation. FMC not telling MMC she was pregnant for 2 YEARS!!! Her behavior says separate or divorce, do not act like the only victim. She is worried about paying for baby stuff: really? Hubby is rich. MMC did not visit wife for 2 YEARS!!! That was not an accident, it was a choice. The OW drama...no drama.

???

You could use an editor. I still haven’t figured out where their apartment is. Sometimes she’s living with her folks. Sometimes he walks her home to her apartment and sometimes they go upstairs to their apartment. There are other inconsistencies, but that one sticks out to me the most. Only at all it was a nice love story, and I liked the characters.

Good premise for a story but...

The storyline had a promise of being a great story. The writing was stilted, like written by AI. A lot of "fair" after statements. Just off. Two years away and could never come home? Seems extreme. But was cute and he chose family over wealth so HEA at the end

The wife he left behind

Really good book, I enjoyed this and the emotional journey it took me on. I loved the reactions of her father. It made me angry at times and emotional and I couldn't put it down.
