A Million Ways To Fall
Boston Rawlings knows how to survive.Keep his head down. Work hard. Protect the people he loves.
And never, ever let himself want something he can’t have.Especially not Skye Monroe. For as long as Skye can remember, Boston has been there—the boy next door who knew her before she knew herself. They grew up side by side, close enough to touch, yet somehow always just out of reach. Whatever it was that hummed between them, they never let themselves be more than childhood friends—not when Skye’s gilded world and Boston’s reality couldn’t have been more different.
And then one day, he was gone.
No warning. No goodbye. No trace.
Two years should have been enough time for Skye to stop wondering. After all, her future is already waiting for a boyfriend who comes from the right kind of family and a life mapped out exactly the way it’s supposed to be.
She's almost convinced herself she's happy.
But then Boston returns. Harder. Quieter. Impossible to ignore. And no matter how determined they are to stay apart, they can’t seem to outrun the pull between them.
He left to protect what he loved. Now he's back for the same reason—with nothing to his name but painful choices and a dangerous kind of hope that looks a lot like Skye Monroe.
The closer Skye gets to the truth, the more she realizes falling for Boston means risking everything she’s ever known. And for the first time, Skye is asking herself a question nobody ever taught her how to What if the life she’s supposed to want isn’t what she wants at all?

ARC review of A Million Ways To Fall
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
*No spoilers*
A Million Ways to Fall by J.V.Reese is a compelling contemporary romance, that truthfully, I could not put down.
Backstory: I go into every book blind, I love to be surprised, I love to predict and theorize about what is going to happen. I enjoy looking for foreshadowing and trying to figure out how the story is going to play out.. that being said. Aside from the two main love interests being involved.. could not anticipate how this story was going to go, in the best way possible.
Triggers: If you read the Halfway Broken Series, you know J.V does NOT pull punches with the drama, she hits you where it hurts.. and boy.. did she hit me where it hurts. So please be mindful to check those triggers before you get started!
So let me try to put into words without any words/ spoilers..
Storyline 5 🌟
MMC Character .. book boyfriend 💯 🌟
FMC Character.. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 know your worth.. 5 🌟 - so relatable !
This book does not have an audio, as J.V is still a newer author but that did not take away from my rating.. I was trying to read this every chance I could.. it was amazing.
The consistent ups and downs kept me turning the page and yearning for more and the struggles these characters went through.. mind blown 🤯 but so realistic.
J.V writes with such page turning ease it caused me to constantly be reevaluating my own life choices. Such as, do I have time to finish this chapter before I regret my life choices in the morning and could I get up an hour early to read before work 🤣.
To say I liked this book would be a massive understatement, I devoured this book and look forward to reading to any future projects.
A Millions Ways to Fall comes out on September 22nd and it is well worth the read!
In the meantime…
If you haven’t read Tiny Fractures, you can read that on Kindle Unlimited.. It’s available now!
A Million Ways to Fall is Incredible and I’m so thankful I got the opportunity to read it as an ARC! Thank you J.V Reese.. another 5 🌟 read!

I was so blessed to get to read this as an ARC. (I literally screamed and jumped up and down when I got the email)! Trust me her books are amazing.
I absolutely love J.V. Reese’ writing, she is one of the very few authors that is not afraid to make the male characters the ones with the painful backgrounds. Her books and characters live with me every day. But make sure to have tissue because she writes pain like no other!!!
I won’t lie I was scared going into it, I knew I’d love it but would it live up to her first series Halfway Broken with Ran (Ronan) and Kat, because that series is by far one of my top ever reads to date. BUT this book did just that it was just as good as her other series.
A Million Ways to Fall is such an amazing read, you will fall in love with Skye and Boston. My heart hurt for Boss the life he was dealt at such a young age was heart breaking. But the way he keeps fighting and refuses to give up for not just his family but for himself is so amazing to watch. Yes watch because I promise you her books are like being there living in that moment with the characters.
I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but do yourself a favor a pick up a copy!
I’m counting the days down until her next book drops and trust me she already knows I’m waiting :)

Amazing story. But very heartbreaking.
I loved how the author portrayed everything in this book. It was raw and you could really feel what the characters were feeling and what they were going through. The author really did not shy away from the hard feelings.
At first I was a little skeptical about if I would like this book because it starts with the characters being in high school, but it does contain a few years and I ended up loving it!
This was my first book by this author and I can't wait to go through and read more of what they have written!

Thank you JV Reese and Happily Booked PR for the ARC of this story. These are my honest opinions.
First a little note:
I never read the triggers at the beginning of a book and I probably should have. If you hate a cheating trope, this might be one to skip. Aside from the cheating, I really enjoyed this and since it was my fault for not reading the warnings, I am not counting the cheating bit toward the star rating. It was clearly stated, so it would be unfair to hold my choice to read it anyway against the author.
For the book review:
I went into the story completely blind to what it was about aside from an author friend saying they loved it. It did not disappoint. The storyline and characters sucked me in fully. I started this thinking I would just read a little bit, next thing I knew I was 70% of the way through the story and I hadn't moved. This book is one you want tissues, snacks, and water for because it is going to engross you completely.
The main characters in this story start out very young (High School) and it follows them over a few years, so there are bits where it skips ahead. The time jumps were incredibly smooth. I didn't feel like I was missing anything and the story flowed well through them.
I was pleasantly surprise with how much I enjoyed the dynamics of the friendships within this book. The FMC, Skye, finds her own strength facing a turbulent relationship. The MMC, Boston, is trying to find his own way through some very extreme circumstances that continues to push his progress backward. The two find themselves apart more than together in the romance with a Romeo and Juliet vibe. Definitely a book to read if you love emotional, trauma filled romances.
Tropes:
Cheating
Do what you must
Childhood Friends to lovers
Emotional Scars
Forbidden Love

My second 6⭐️ read of the month, and honestly… I am still not okay.
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster and I never want to get off. There were points where I was so anxious I genuinely felt like I was about to have an actual panic attack.
But that’s what J.V. Reese does so well. She doesn’t just give you characters and expect you to watch their story unfold. Somehow, you end up right there with them. You feel the hurt. The fear. The anger. The longing. The tiny moments of happiness that hit so much harder because you know what these characters have had to survive. So yes, bring tissues. Maybe a stress ball too. Possibly professional help. 😂
Boston completely broke my heart. He has spent so much of his life putting everyone else first, carrying things he never should have had to carry at his age, and convincing himself that wanting more for himself was not on the cards. But Boss, you deserve EVERYTHING!
And Skye, I loved watching her figure out what she actually wanted instead of continuing down the path everyone else had chosen for her. Their relationship felt so much more powerful because of everything between them. The history, the tension, the stolen moments, all that unbearable yearning. I was invested from beginning to end.
And Archer and Lexi? I have never hated fictional people quite so passionately. They deserve every bad thing. I said what I said. 😭
A Million Ways to Fall is painful, beautiful, frustrating, tender and completely consuming. It made me feel EVERYTHING, which is exactly why it earned those 6 ⭐️ from me.
If you love emotional romance, complicated characters, second chances, unbearable tension, add this one to your list. Just don't blame me when your blood pressure starts rising. 🫠

My first book from J.V. Reese and I could not put it down. Finished in one sitting, the writing just pulled you in and the next thing you know it's over.
Please check your trigger warnings.
Our FMC Skye (Stormy) & MMC Boston (Boss) have been friends since they were kids but life put them in different financial situations and extremely different home lives.
Our sweet Skye is trying to navigate what she wants in life, and Archer sinks his claws in her, she's confused, likes the attention, it seems expected, & the guy she actually liked never said anything and disappeared.
Who is that guy? Our MMC Boston. I wanted to hug him so many times from the first few pages, dealing with the loss of his father, a mother who turned to drugs, & just wanting to care for his siblings Cassie & Bronx. When his mom's boyfriend beats him & threatens his siblings he does the only thing he thinks he can do, he leaves.
Fast forward, Jake & Skye never stop wondering what happened to him and he comes back to town. Desperate to care for his siblings he'll do anything. He is handed so many traumatic things yet keeps going. He sees Skye's face & knows two things, he loves her & hates how Archer treats her.
Seeing Skye find her voice & what she wants versus what's expected of her was such a you go girl.
Each obstacle Boston overcame, you couldn't help but be proud.
Their friendship and chemistry was off the charts.
It's painful, it's beautiful, it's traumatic, it's emotional, but its encouraging as well.

Boston Rawlings has always known exactly how to get by: keep his head down, do what needs doing, guard the ones he cares about… and never let himself crave anything he can’t hold onto. Especially not Skye Monroe.
For as long as she can recall, Boston’s been right there—her next-door neighbour, the one who knew her before she even knew herself. They grew up side by side, close enough to reach out, yet always kept just out of reach. There was always something thrumming between them, something they never dared name—not when Skye’s polished, privileged world and Boston’s harder life were so far apart.
Then one day, he vanished. No heads-up. No goodbye. Not a single trace.
Two years should have been long enough to move on. Skye’s got everything mapped out: a suitable fiancé, a life everyone expects her to lead, every piece exactly where it should be. She’s almost managed to convince herself she’s content.
Until Boston walks back in. Tougher, quieter, and impossible to push aside. Try as they might to keep their distance, that pull between them never went away.
He left to keep her safe. Now he’s back for exactly the same reason—with nothing left but hard choices, and a fragile, dangerous hope that centres entirely on Skye. The closer she gets to what really drove him away, the clearer it becomes: choosing Boston could mean losing every single thing she’s ever known. And for the first time, she’s faced with a question no one ever prepared her to answer.
A gorgeous, gut-twisting friends-to-more romance that tugs right at your heartstrings!

A Million Ways to Fall by J.V. Reese
This was my first J.V. Reese book, and it definitely won’t be my last!
I’ll admit, Skye frustrated the hell out of me at first. GIRL. WAKE. UP. 😂 I hated watching her live for an asshole boyfriend who treated her terribly instead of living for herself.
But Boston? I fell for him IMMEDIATELY. 🥹
The kid from the wrong side of the tracks, dealing with the loss of his father, a struggling mother, and a bunch of privileged rich kids who had no idea what it was like to walk in his shoes—I was rooting SO HARD for him to prove every stereotype wrong.
And the way he loved his family?! His relationship with his siblings absolutely melted my heart. ❤️
Boston and Skye had me screaming “JUST DO IT ALREADY!” 😂 The romance was a little slower than I normally prefer, but the payoff was completely worth it. The spice was mild, but it fit the story perfectly, and I was just as invested in their emotional connection as their physical chemistry.
This book gave me all the feels—heartbreak, frustration, sweetness, romance, and that satisfying payoff I was waiting for.
The whole package for me. ❤️

Tropes: 💙childhood friends to lovers 🌿forbidden love 💙second chance 🌿love triangle 💙dark secrets 🌿different worlds/opposites attract 💙emotional scars 🌿new adult
This book turned out to be quite surprising in many ways. I really enjoyed it. It was both tragic and beautiful. This book includes Skye and Boston. Boston faced numerous challenges throughout his life. He was an incredibly wonderful person. The entire experience he had was deeply heartbreaking. He made a few errors, but it was because of his desperation to support his family. Skye was a kind-hearted girl trapped in a toxic relationship. While I read, I felt concerned for her because her boyfriend acted completely unhinged.
This book captivated me from start to finish. Both Skye and Boston were fantastic characters who added a lot to the story. They made such a sweet couple. This was a wonderful story about childhood friends becoming lovers. This book stirred up a lot of emotions while I was reading it. For those who are interested in heartfelt romance novels, I highly recommend this book.

This book was one I was incapable of putting down once I picked it up. It was such a compelling story and so heartfelt. But also heartbreaking and emotionally draining, but I mean both of those in the absolute best way possible. There were multiple moments where my anxiety was so high I felt like I was vibrating under my skin. Skye and Boston truly grab you heart and soul. Their connection is so raw and genuine. They both deserve the absolute world. And watching these two figure out what they want and acknowledge that they can want more was so endearing and heartwarming. My heart shattered for Boston at multiple instances while reading. I’m not sure I was left with more than dust in my chest after everything he went through. Add on the issues Skye faces and I never stood a chance. This book has so much pain and tension and hurt. I was not okay, but I don’t mean that negatively. And the story also gave us healing and warmth. Getting to see these two overcome and find the bond they were always meant for melted me in every way. This book will break you and leave scars but it will also fill you with love and will mend the gashes it makes. I wouldn’t change a single thing about my reading experience.

This book completely stole my heart! Boston and Skye’s story was everything I love about romance. The childhood friends-to-lovers trope, the years of longing, and the undeniable chemistry between them had me hooked from the beginning. 🥹❤️
Boston was such a complex character. He’s spent so much of his life protecting the people he loves and convincing himself he doesn’t deserve more. Watching him return and slowly let his guard down was heartbreaking and beautiful. Skye’s journey was just as meaningful as she began questioning the life she was expected to want and discovering what truly made her happy.
I loved the emotional depth of their relationship and how their history made every moment between them feel so much more meaningful. The tension, the stolen moments, the yearning—I was completely invested in these two. Their story reminded me that sometimes the hardest thing to do is choose what you want instead of what everyone else expects of you.
A beautiful, emotional romance filled with love, sacrifice, second chances, and two people who deserved to find their way back to each other.

A Million Ways to Fall by J.V Reese
This book was such an amazing read! This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I really enjoyed her writing style. I honestly could not put it down!
I loved the story of two childhood friends who come from two completely different worlds one of wealth and one of hardship and how they navigate life, love, and relationships.
The unexpected twists and challenges they faced kept me wanting to turn the page. There were so many emotions, surprises, and moments that had me completely invested in their story.
The MMC!?! Definitely book boyfriend material! 😍 His perseverance, loyalty, and constant need to protect the people he loves made it so easy to root for him.
Overall, this was an emotional and captivating read that kept me hooked from beginning to end. 5 ⭐️

Holy crap this book blew my mind! It’s so layered, the story is filled with so much depth and backstory, it’s unbelievably good! I wasn’t sure what to expect because I’ve never read J.V. Reese before and I’ll be honest, the beginning of the book, maybe a good 1/3 of it, was rougher for me. It started out super strong and then just lagged a little for me but after the halfway point it picked up and oh my hell did it finish up good. I absolutely devoured the rest and it left my mouth hanging open so many times, had me bawling my eyes out, so angry I wanted to hurt charters and then giggling! Yes, GIGGLING! This book really was the whole gauntlet and I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend giving it a shot!

Oh my god. I could not put this down.
So damn emotional. Raw, painful, heartbreaking and just amazing.
So intense.
Boston 'surviving'. He's a strong MMC who will do literally anything to protect his family, giving literally everything he has.
Skye spends a lot of time accepting what she shouldn't put up with, while also trying to figure out how to help. She does gain the strength she needs to stop letting herself made to be small.
The love story is a sweet, slow burn with lots of yearning, but wasn't what made this book unputdowbable, that comes from all the other stuff going on. Absolutely wrecked me.
Some intense/dark themes, check your trigger warnings.
Oh my god. I could not put this down.
So damn emotional. Raw, painful, heartbreaking and just amazing.

Thank you JV Reese and Happily Booked PR for an advanced copy of this book.
I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about this author. The emotional turmoil she puts me through every time I pick up one of her books is astounding. I walk around FOR DAYS thinking about her characters.
Boston is dealt an extremely unfair hand, but wait… no. It doesn’t get better. It just keeps getting worse. Skye is from the other side of the tracks but loves him anyway. This is the not-so-fairytale story of star-crossed lovers that go through literal Hell to be together. Buckle up. It is not an easy ride.

Not quite dark romance in the new adult contemporary category but definitely some darker themes. Tested friendships, toxic relationships, and family dysfunction take center stage as Skye and Boston navigate forbidden love evolved from childhood friendship. It’s a book that really taps into how easy it is for one mistake or wrong decision to spiral. Things get messy fast but everyone does their best to keep it together and keep the mess hidden. A great reminder of the quality of life disparities between financial classes.

I couldn't even put this book down literacy, and I was on the edge of my seat Cassie and Bronx and Skye and Boston as the chemistry was unbelievable as a spark had ignite of passion and romance a forbidden temptation and love affair. I was hooked as soon I turn the first page all the way to the end and after reading this story you will need a glass of wine.
I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book Happily booked PR via Bookfunnel and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

I received an ARC of A Million Ways to Fall by J.V. Reese. I really enjoyed this book! Reese has a special way of navigating darker and traumatic themes in her romance books. Boston and Skye have loved each other before they even knew what that meant, and they both live through their own set of obstacles and complications, finally finding their way to each other. This was a beautiful story of friends to lovers, traumatic secrets and sacrificing for the ones they love. Overall another great read by J.V. Reese.

Once again the author has blown me away with an amazing book that kept me up all night to finish it! She really knows how to keep you enthralled with her writing! The characters, the setting, the feelings I felt! I cried! I giggled! I glared at my husband for interrupting! Read this book!

This was packed with so much. It weighed heavy on my heart at some points. Sky did not have the easiest life. She went through so much. But she always found a reason to keep moving forward. I loved that about her. And Boston was so good to her. I loved seeing these two connect the way they did. This was a very emotional and heartfelt story that kept me invested.

Wow! There are a few authors whose writing pulls at my heartstrings in all the best ways, and this author is definitely one of them. I loved the characters and their development, the storyline, and the ending. Needless to say, I loved everything about this book. I laughed, I felt, and I was completely invested in Boston and Sky’s story from beginning to end. I’m so sad their story is over, but what a beautiful ride it was! ❤️

This story was a rough one. It had beautiful, agonizing, raw, emotional, gut wrenching parts. These things happen in real life and some of them make me sick to my stomach. I cringed in some parts and cried in others. This is a good story of losing your way, finding your way back, and making the most of your situations!

A Devastatingly Beautiful Emotional Romance
There are romance novels that entertain, and then there are books like A Million Ways to Fall by J.V. Reese— that break your heart, and tenderly stitch it back together. Her books always manage to stay with me long after I finish the last page.
J.V. delivers an extraordinary, emotionally charged read filled with raw vulnerability and authentic character growth. This story gives us complex and flawed characters carrying real emotional turmoil and heavy unspoken grief. Their shared history creates a slow-burn tension that is absolutely palpable, making every moment of connection feel deeply earned.
At its core, this book is a poignant exploration of healing, self-worth, and the terrifying courage it takes to choose love over self-preservation. J.V. balances intense angst with genuine warmth, proving that falling isn't just about the rush—it's about trusting someone enough to catch you.
If you love a deeply emotional contemporary romance with high stakes, complex leads, and a story that pulls on every single heartstring, A Million Ways to Fall is just the book for you!
Big thank you to Happily Booked PR and J.V. Reese for an ARC copy for review!

I don't know where to being.
I do wanna say Thank You to J.V. Reese and the PR Group for the ARC.
I really didn't know if Skyler and Boston could compare to Kat and Ronan.
But I gotta admit I loved Skyler and Boston.
I won't give full details of the book , I don't want to accidentally give any Spoilers away.
✨ I finished the book within a day! I couldn't get enough of it. I wanted to know what will happen to Archer and to Boston mom and his siblings.
There is so much more I wan to say ; but it's that they are might be Spoiled.
Just know I highly recommend this book. I really loved this book.

A Million Ways to Fall by J.V. Reese is a riveting and heartbreaking romance that put me through the full gamut of emotions. Without spoiling anything, this story took me on an emotional roller coaster, with constant highs and lows that felt incredibly true to life. The suspense, drama, and desperate hope that things would work out kept me turning the pages.
Skye and Boston are childhood friends, but after Boston's father dies and his mother makes some difficult decisions, his life takes a devastating turn. It was heartbreaking to watch him navigate the challenges he faced at such a young age. Despite everything stacked against him, Boston showed remarkable perseverance and maturity, refusing to give up even when it seemed like the world was working against him.
Skye frustrated me at times, but I quickly realized that some of that reaction came from my own experiences and biases. That's a testament to J.V. Reese's writing. Skye felt like a real person, flaws and all. Raised in a sheltered and privileged environment, she spends much of the story learning to recognize her own value and understand that she doesn't have to fit the mold others created for her.
What surprised me most was the depth of Skye and Boston's relationship. While they are essentially teenagers, their shared history, trauma, and emotional baggage force them to grow up faster than most. Watching them evolve both together and apart, while ultimately finding their way back to one another, was both painful and heartwarming.
This is a true second-chance romance filled with heartbreak, hope, resilience, and growth. Be sure to check the trigger warnings beforehand, and keep tissues nearby because this emotional journey does not pull any punches.

This was one of those books I was completely incapable of putting down once I started. It was compelling, heartfelt, heartbreaking, and emotionally draining in the absolute best way.
There were so many moments when my anxiety was through the roof and I felt like I was practically vibrating under my skin. Skye and Boston grabbed me completely, heart and soul. Their connection felt so raw, genuine, and deeply emotional. They both deserved the absolute world, and watching them slowly figure out what they wanted, while realizing they were allowed to want more, was one of my favorite parts of the story.
My heart shattered for Boston more times than I can count. After everything he went through, I’m honestly not sure there was anything left of my heart but dust. Then you add everything Skye was dealing with, and I never stood a chance.
This book is filled with pain, tension, heartbreak, and so much emotion. I was NOT okay while reading it, but I mean that in the best possible way. Because alongside all that hurt, there was also healing, warmth, love, and hope.
Watching Skye and Boston overcome everything and find the connection they were always meant to have completely melted me. This story will break your heart and leave a few scars, but it also fills those broken places with so much love and slowly mends the wounds it creates.
I genuinely wouldn’t change a single thing about my reading experience. This one completely wrecked me and I loved every second of it.
