A forbidden desire. An unethical experiment. I was supposed to study deviant minds, not lose myself to one.
For four years, Dr Braithwaite was the man I could only admire from across a lecture hall. He’s twice my age, the most respected academic on campus, and completely unattainable. I was convinced he would never see me as anything but a student.
Then he gave me a challenge I couldn’t refuse.
At the time, I told myself it was purely academic – a chance to learn, test theories, and disprove his claims about deviancy.
But somewhere between the rules and the research, between his lessons and my confessions, curiosity becomes obsession, and the boundaries continue to blur.
Every time I kneel before him, it’s easier to forget the mistakes I’ve buried, the secrets I still keep, and the past I want to leave behind. By the time I realise my mistake, it’s already too late.
Because the question is no longer how far he’ll push me… It’s how quickly my past can destroy it all.
Twist Me is a forbidden romance with an age gap, a dominant hero, and a strong female lead. It is meant for a mature audience only. Please check the author’s website for CWs. Series HEA guaranteed. The books should be read in order.
Dina Hawthorn is a dark romance writer with a keen interest in psychology, tea, and long walks in the countryside. She lives in Suffolk, England, and is often found writing dark, gritty stories with a ginger cat on her lap.
This was so much fun and even hotter than the first one.

⟡ Review ⟡ This book picks up directly where Teach Me left off. Ophelia and Dr. Braithwaite are starting to explore a real relationship and Dr. Braithwaite continues his teachings of their dom/sub dynamic. We also learn more about Ophelia and her family background.
I had a really good time with this. It’s very spicy and I loved Dr. Braithwaite teaching Ophelia how to be his sub. It’s respectful, and while he is pushing her, he is not crossing any boundaries and checking constantly that she is okay. This book leaves open ended and we get teased with a future confrontation with Ophelia’s abusive ex and of course, the secret, forbidden element of the student/teacher relationship looms over them and I expect this to be picked up in the future.
Twist Me – Deviant Players: Book 2 A Professor Student Forbidden Romance Author: Dina Hawthorn Released: Jul 30, 2026 Genre: BDSM Romance Tropes: Age-Gap, Academia, Dom/Sub, Professor/Student This was a quick & spicy read about the world of BDSM. It delves deeper into dom/slave/submissive relationships. The scenes in book 2 stepped it up from Book 1. The character and settings are well described. The FMC Ophelia still has major trust issues, and her character makes me want to reach though the pages and give her a shake. The trip to Paris was chef’s kiss. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger but not enough to enjoy the reading book 1 & 2 now. Was so great to have Dan back in the mix and the intro of some new players! Triggers: I don’t have any but if you do, be good to yourself and make sure this one is for you. I received an ARC for free from the Author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. #bookstagram #readersofinstagram #reviews #books #indie
Picking up right where Teach Me left off we learn more about Ophelia and her would be Dom. Another quick and spicy read about a good girl learning about the world of BDSM. Ophelia is still convinced that she's not a deviant and is trying her best to hold onto that, and her thesis. But Ophelia still doesn't trust Dr. Braithwaite; she's not sure what he actually wants. As he spoils her and introduces her to the Dom/sub roles, their relationship evolves. Can't wait to see how book 3 brings this all together.
A quick and spicy read. Professor/ student. Cliffhanger. This does follow book one so you will need to have read that one. This one deals with the FMCs trust issues more and a beautiful trip to Paris. And I love a man that checks in. Excited for the next one. Please check your triggers.
Another amazing story from an incredible author! I love reading these spicy stories! The characters are so amazingly written! So many different emotions as I read it!
