I enjoyed the book. It was an amusing read and I giggled at quite a few parts. Everything developed quickly which I was a little sad over. I would've liked getting to know the characters a little better. Overall, I'm interested in reading other books in this series.

This was a really cute shifter romance. Would have liked a little more at the end, or an epilogue, but I'll definitely be checking out more books from this author!

This was a great little short and I really enjoyed it, especially a surprise in the end as well as the title recipe at the back of the book. Great idea! Matt is a big bear of a lawyer with a smile and a sweet tooth and called in when Mina a BBW baker on the run from her dangerous ex, asks for a lawyer when she lands in jail. Mina needs help and Matt feels he is just the bear to protect her. His resolve is strengthened as he is mesmerised by her ample curves and a promise to provide him with a honeybear pie. I enjoyed the feel of this town and want to read more about it as well as more about Matt's big bear brothers. I was quite pleased when I reached the plot twist it was a nice surprise.

I liked this short novel. The hero is a nice guy who realizes right away that the heroine is his mate. While he needs to protect Mina from bad guys out to kill her, he also needs to sell her on being his mate. Unlike most shifter books, Matt is not doing this sexually or by being a caveman, but by things such as showing off his beautiful house and his ability to protect her. There's the usual overwhelming sexual pull and a sex scene so it's not like the sexual side is left out, but it's nice to have the hero be an unsure petitioner for once.

This is my second book by Jacqueline Sweet and I found it very amusing. It is a quick paced paranormal romance about the quirky Morrisey brothers. Now I am going to go back and read the first one that I never finished because it was the 4th book in the series and I didn’t understand what was going on. Now I have an insight to what is going on and want to read the rest of the books.
This first book is the story of Matt Morrisey and Mina Brook. Mina is running from her ex-boyfriend Harper and his goons. She has something that can send him away for life and he wants it back. She crashes her car near a town called Bearfield and won’t give the sheriff her name and immediately requests a lawyer. Matt Morrisey is the lawyer that is sent to her. The very last thing on earth he expected was to walk in and find his fated Mate. He has to find a way to convince her that she and he belong together. She won’t give him any information until she has retrieved something from her car and is taken to safety. After realizing too late that her cell phone is a direct line to her. Matt is in a rush to get her hidden. First they have to get to her car is at his brother Michael’s house and he warns her that he is a bit weird. Imagine to her surprise when this gloriously……. man comes out of a poorly patched house to greet them. Now Matt has to convince her that he has what is needed to protect her. The rest is for you to find out. This is a short story but one you do not want to miss. It is recommended for mature readers 18 and over. You are going to love it.

GO ON A GREAT TRIP FROM BEGINING TO END..RELAX AN ENJOY THE ADVENTURE THEN TRY THE PIE...
I love this story and the writer and went straight to the next in the series, write that next. First you have Mina Brooks( a pasty cook) who has loss everything and is on the run,has a wreck and then knows she can't tell the police who she is or she will be found, so outcome jail. Then you have Matt Morrissey, a BIG man with a sweet tooth, (bear shifter,lawyer) called at 5am to talk to her. Deal get me out and I will make you the best Honeybear Pie you ever ate. At first sight his bear said this is your mate, the man thinks most beautiful women I have ever seen. So there are lots of thing happening that doesn't normally happen, except when a bear goes protective of a mate when she is threaten. But until that moment she new nothing of shifters, but after his brother tells him to get clothes and he deals with letting her work it out and answer her question that he can till his big brother returns. He agrees to help her (very impressed how she deals with everything) He is angry when she finally tells her story,wanting to protect. More then once they run into different problems to solve but learn to solve them together. Before a HEA can come. Most special of all she gifts you with the recipe for the Honeybear Pie. This lady can take you on an adventure and then give you the reward.

A whole chapter was missing...
It started interesting enough, but after her telling the sheriff "My name is I need a lawyer" 3 different times I thought this is a bit corny. The sheriff could have easily arrested her and looked through her purse.
Then midway through Mina and Matt were doing a walk through of the house, then all of the sudden Harker is there. What happened in between? I really believe a whole chapter was missing.
The 1 sex scene was hot, but the storyline was stunted and read really fast. I'm glad there were no cliffhangers because I wouldn't be purchasing a next book to find out what happens next.

Matt and Mina were meant to be together from the time they laid eyes on each other. Just getting Mina to agree and tell Matt what she was running from is the only problem.
I haven't read a book by this author before and thought I should give her a try and I am glad I did that.
I love the subject she is writing about and there is hot sex with suspense. You get both of what you want. It helps that it's a bear shifter. They are an amazing animal to become.
I will have to get more books by this author and read them.

Mina is running for her life from thugs who want what she has. Matt is a attorney who is trying to keep her safe and find out the whole story from her. When the men show up after Mina all hell breaks loose to keep her safe.
I like how the author used the names of Mina and Harker for the characters. This is well written story line and very smooth flowing.

This was a quick and funny romance with a sexy finale! This was my first shifter book that they shifted into bears and animals other than wolves. It was an interesting take on the shapeshifter genre. The only thing I would have liked was to get to know the characters on a deeper level. Overall, a great and fun read!

This is a good start for this series. I like that the romance and actions take up the short story rather than building the town, other characters, or any other distracting point. The hints of Matt's brothers finding love will be interesting. As part of an anthology I ended up reading "The Bearfield Baby Heist" before this but I think I'll like the rest of the stories.

This is a super quick sweet read. Bear shifter meets his mate and saves her from the very unusual shark shifter. Of course she is a pastry chef and promises to make him honey apple pie for saving her. References to Pooh Bear and Yogi are just to funny.

This was a short but very predictable and cliche shifter romance. I just found I to be lacking in too many aspects. pretty lame overall. Not one I'd recommend..sorry.

Poorly written
A lot of telling and not showing. Boring, juvenile descriptions and flat characters. Honeybear pie recipe sounds boring and plain, and basically just an apple pie. The descriptions of some aspects of life make me think the authors are generally inexperienced with how some things work in life and didn't bother to do actual research. And to be honest, when they go the part about a guy being ignored by the cops because he's gay and Filipino, I honestly found that to be contrived and ignorant, and very presumptuous, further feeding into the idea that the authors try to force conflict and controversy in their story where there is none, based on their own ignorant and inexperienced views of the world. I mean if you're not sure, at least do research (don't even get me started on the lame attempts to describe business affairs). Did not finish, stopped at 46%. Yawn.

This is Matt and Mina's story . Mina is on the run from her ex and ends up crashing . When the Sheriff Pete asks her her name ( loved this by the way ) she said it " I want a lawyer . Matt is the lawyer called and really does not want to wake up to help her but does his duty . I love their first meeting when Matt so wants to check out her shoes !!! This book is a short read but is action packed !! The story starts at a fast pace and never lets up ! I do have to say I was surprised at who (what) Mina's ex is ! This is so well written and strongly recommended !!

This book would have given more stars if the grammar and proofreading errors were fixed. But the story was good.

When Matt gets a 5 a.m. wake-up call from the local sheriff to meet his newest client, Matt never thought she'd be his mate. Now both the man and bear will do anything to protect her from whomever is after her.
But when the goons show up with her ex, a shark shifter, who will win?

Wonderful Read

This is a quick story about Matt and Mina. If you are in the market for a cliche shifter story complete with predictable story lines and insta love with little character development or story line then this is right up your alley. I just found it to be lacking in too many aspects for it to be more than an alright middle of the road story. There are several cute and funny parts, but for the most part is just meh.

Great short story. Lots of danger and love wrapped up in a wonderful HEA for the couple. Matt and Mina share a love for food ... she is a chef and he has a HUGE sweet tooth. She is in trouble and he and his bear want to protect her. Beauty and her bear shifter WILL conquer all.

Ummm, ok so sharks cannot breathe air, they do not surface to breathe like other aquatic animals. When FMC is trying to figure out how to interrupt a fight with a shark ON LAND WHERE HE CAN'T BREATHE she flips through a couple of shark facts and come up with disrupting his sense of smell? Umm, sure....

Not a Bear but
The story was good with a twist that was delightful my girl is a cooking heroine, but the pie recipe is a must try. Absolutely delicious , finger licking good yum yum and yummy.
