Months after a secret admirer shook up his life, Roman Harper has found peace with the past that haunted him for eight years. He’s opened his heart to Bianca Baker. He's made a name for himself in the art world. Life is good…
Until an anonymous package with a cryptic message changes everything.
When it happened before, it ripped him apart. This time around, he has so much more to lose.
When Danielle announced that she was writing Heartfelt I was excited. I wanted to read more about Roman and Bianca. I want to say beforehand that I've loved everything that Danielle’s have written but Heartfelt was just an okay read for me.
I don’t really know what it was but it was hard for me to get through this book. There were some really great parts, Ro and B physical chemistry was off the charts!!!!!! There is an airport scene that was H-O-T!!!!!!!! Throughout the book when they were together, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other which I enjoyed tremendously. I also loved B. She was a force to be reckon with. When her parents tried to control her, she shut them down, even when Roman would try keep secrets from her, especially when she and Roman started getting mysterious packages and anonymous threats, she would know something was up would confront him. She was strong and willing to fight for their relationship. She knew when to stand up to him and to tread lightly so she won’t push him. I absolutely admired her. Brad (Easy) and Malik were hilarious as always. I would love to read an Easy story. I feel like there could be something there.
I loved Roman in Heartache but in this book he was very frustrating. There were times I wanted to go through my kindle and shake him. He cared about B, which I loved but some of the decisions he made when dealing with the potential “stalker” might of became a detriment to their relationship if B wasn’t so strong.
When we find out who the “stalker” is the confrontation was a bit anti-climatic and ended kind of abruptly. I felt like there needed to be a dramatic confrontation between Ro, B and the “stalker”.
If you’ve read Heartache definitely read Heartfelt so you get to see how Roman and Bianca move forward and it always great to get closure when you read a series and you love the characters.
If you loved Heartache, you're in quite a treat for Heartfelt!
Danielle Allen writes suspense, and sexy in such a thrilling fashion--making it impossible for the reader to stop flipping page after page. I fell in love with Roman and Bianca in the first novel, and that love and passion only intensifies with this read.
Allen knows how to tie words together to make you feel things you didn't know you were going to feel. She makes you doubt the undoubtable, she makes you question your own loyalties to the characters, but what's most important is she makes you love. She makes you root for Ro and Bianca. You want them to get their happily ever after.
And when you reach those last few pages, and the butterflies in your stomach form, you end with a big smile and a full heart.
Brilliant novel by an even more brilliant author. XoXo!
I fell hard for Roman in Heartache. I fell completely head over heals in Heartfelt. I love the way Danielle Allen portrays romance in her books. She has a way of mixing HEA's with a dose of complicated realism. Sometimes people fall in love but other ish gets in the way.
Like for Roman and Bianca.
Their love is beautiful, intense and attracts envy from those around them. They have to work hard to protect what they have against someone who tries to destroy them both. Loved the ride that Danielle takes you on in this book!
Danielle Allen, I freaking loved this book! Suspense, Drama and ooohh that twist!!!! Huh, who knew?
Roman and Bianca are FINALLY a couple and living life as best they can. She in NYC and he in West Virginia. The relationship is still new, yes they were best of friends, but the relationship is now different. With new comes uncertainty, self doubt and communication is still being learned. So much needs to be said but with them still not 100% confident and given their history so much is left unsaid. With secrets and assumptions can a relationship grow?
They sexual chemistry between Ro and B is freaking HOT!!! Airport sex, HELLO!!!! HOT!!!! These two together are perfect. The way they connect physically has us feeling like we are invading their privacy, but damn, its so hot who can look away.
I must say that Ro's friends are a riot and they kept me laughing. I really want more of Malik and Easy. Danielle wrote them so good that their personality jumped of the page.
I truly loved this installment. The drama kept me intrigued. The suspense held me captive and the sex had me excited.
Another beautiful delivery Danielle! I can't wait to see what you give us next.
In Book One, Roman was stalked by a woman that refused to reveal herself and her communications got scarier and scarier. When the culprit was revealed it felt too easy and she wasn't served the kind of justice she deserved.
In Book Two, Roman finally comes to his senses and admits that he loves Bianca. Yes, they are both in love with each other -- at the same time. There is never any doubt whatsoever that they love each other because they tell each other ... over, and over, and over ... again and again ... 84 times to be exact. I got the message the first ten times they proclaimed their love.
It's Bianca's turn to be stalked, though she's unaware because Roman has been keeping secrets from her. When the couple get together with Roman's friends to discuss who the stalker could be, an obvious person was missing from the list and I couldn't understand why this name didn't come up in the discussion. After Roman promises Bianca that he won't keep anymore secrets -- guess what, he continues to keep secrets.
Roman thinks the stalker is Ashton, a guy Bianca casually dated. Bianca disagrees because he doesn't seem like the type. Ashton does basically tell Roman he's waiting in the wings to pick up the pieces of Bianca's future broken heart. Deciding enough is enough, Bianca asks Ashton to back off and clearly states that she's in love with Roman. His response is to send a picture with Roman in a compromising position. How Ashton caught the incriminating shot at the right moment is beyond me. Why Bianca even entertained this nonsense is even more perplexing since she knows that Roman HATES cheaters and cheating!
When another threatening message is sent to Roman he keeps it a secret from Bianca which puts her safety at risk. The fallout from that secret surprisingly didn't go where I thought it would and I was okay with that. The pivotal scene was a heart-stopper and I was scared for Bianca.
In 2015, there was a teaser for Book 3 featuring his friend Brad (aka as Easy) but the book still hasn't been written and frankly I'm more interested in knowing more about Malik and Courtney, though I do see where the story could go with Brad.
When I heard there was going to be another book for Roman, I couldn't wait! This one picks up after book 1. After all the drama that happened, Roman and Bianca are finally together :) and they are hotter than ever!
What I really loved about this book is the commitment Ro and B had for each other. They were dealing with the long distance relationship, but through it all. the love they had for each other remained evident. What ever issues were going on, they communicated and to me that made their relationship stronger. Once again, some strange things started to happen. I had some theories, but didn't know which way it would turn out. Danielle did a great job with that :) When all was revealed, all I can say is wow!!
As always, Easy and Malik were hilarious. The bond they all have as friends can't be broken and they were always there For Ro and B. Not giving away any spoilers, but if you read Heartache, you will love Hearfelt. There is a little surprise at the end, and I can't wait to see where Danielle takes us next!!
I loved Heartache and in this you can't help but want all the bad things to go away and leave Roman and Bianca alone to have a wonderful romance but with all the envious nasty people around them you just know there is more they have to get through. They both work hard at enjoying each other in some very hot steamy scenes which is totally their chemistry and such strong powerful feelings they have which I think they are both scared of too, but most of all they don't want to lose each other through what is happening to them, it gives you a feel good factor of how much they go through and the strength they have to be together. Danielle has definitely done it again in this one, the true to life emotions and strengths of the characters just stands out, brilliant story
Heartfelt picks up not long after Heartache, pulling us back into the life of swoon-worthy artist Roman and his friends-to-lovers relationship with best friend Bianca. Of course, love always has complications and theirs is no exception. They already have the obstacle of juggling a long distance relationship, but when cryptic messages show up, reminiscent of those they'd dealt with before, things get even more hectic. Heartfelt is sexy and suspenseful, wrapped with emotion. I really enjoyed watching Roman and Bianca's love grow through Heartfelt!
Saw a bit of Alpha growth with Roman. His need to protect Bianca was nobel, getting there at times was painful, especially since he had such a strong woman. Bless his heart he really tried though.
This is the second book in the first (and only, at the time) non-series from Ms. Allen. And what I mean by that convoluted description is that Heartache was to be an only book, but thank God that Roman Harper kept talking to this author and so she brings us Heartache, a continuation of the story from book one. You must read book one before you read this story.
This story continues with Roman and Bianca's story and I think I loved this story more than book one and I gave that a 5 star review. This story carries on where we left off in Ro and B's story from book one when they realized their feelings for each other were more than just best friends. And Roman's friends are back and funny as ever......
"What the hell are you smiling about?" Brad yelled jokingly. "I'm over here in pain, thinking I'm about to sue you and B for the injury I sustained. Malik is over there yammering about the view. And you're just sitting there, smiling." Brad stood up and jogged to the home studio where Malik was admiring the window wall. "Roman's eyes just glazed over and turned into hearts. I swear to God. This dude just sighed happily just now. Like B just asked him to prom or some shit."
And as much as I love the wonderfully sexy, handsome, talented Roman, his personality didn't change much in book 2 and at 79-80% (if I remember correctly), I actually said "Tell her already!!" out loud to my kindle. As much as he means well, I was extremely frustrated with him repeatedly, as was Bianca.
And while they both have some issues with parents and their pasts which they are struggling with, there are things going on that will keep you wondering until the very end! This is a romance story, but is also suspense and it's done wonderfully!!
"Love has made you dumb. Threatening the man who holds all of the cards in his hands is not smart. I told you I didn't want to hurt her. If you threaten me again, I will."
I highly recommend this "series", which I guess it is now, thanks to Roman! I am definitely going to go to Ms. Allen's back list and see what I might have missed of hers.
I received this copy in exchange for my honest review.
When I finished Heartache, I was blown away. I also was under the impression that it was a one book thing and that Roman and Bianca's story was done. I thought the "what happens next" would be left completely up to my imagination.
This was me:
One day, I was minding my own business, and I heard a little voice in my head. It was whisper-chanting, "check your kindle, check your kindle". I opened the kindle app and lo and behold, there it was... HEARTFELT!!! I was so happy.
This is what I looked like:
So, Ro and B... Yes, I'm on a nickname basis with them. They call me K -- see, I'm in the fold. Aren't you jelly?
The sexual tension in Heartache was off the charts, and if you're thinking it'd be a little less in Heartfelt, you'd be thinking wrong. These two go at it like bunnies and still have so much sexual tension its unreal. Don't get me wrong, IT IS AWESOME.
One word: AIRPORT
And just so you know, there's a story here too. You still have a little mystery to figure out, and you will go through a few suspects, and you may flip flop a couple of times. Maybe you'll land on the right one... maybe you won't. But when you get to the end, you'll be smiling and laughing and probably wishing you were a fly on the wall. I know I wished I was.
Bottom line... if you haven't read Heartache, do yourself a favor and go get it. It really is that freakin' good. Then, when you're a sad panda cause it's over, get Heartfelt and you'll be farting rainbows too.
Danielle is one of favorite authors and friend. Every book she writes is amazing and you should read them all. lol Anyway, I'm on to the review..
The characters in this book are so awesome and funny as all get out. Danielle puts so much into them that you really feel like you are listening to your friends. Bianca is hilarious and I love her because she is so independent and refuses to be carried by anyone. The love and devotion she has for Ro is so sweet and to see their love blossom in this book was awesome.
Roman oh Roman how I love thee.. This man is amazing.. I loved him to pieces because he is so in love with B and the things he will go to in order to protect her and show her his love is astounding. Ro is every girls dream man from hotty hot pants in the bedroom to Captain Protector outside of the bedroom.
I laughed, teared up and got straight up pissed at moments in this book but I LOVE that about a book. Make me feel what you are writing and Danielle always follows through. thank you so much yet again for giving me a book that I can compare all Contemporary Romance books to.
I could not honestly give a review of Heartache without reading Heartfelt. Heartache was the perfect title for this book and I had to keep reminding myself of that. At first I thought I disliked Roman because I was in love with Julian from the One. Julian was everything, nothing like this closed off bag lady male edition named Roman. Bianca was a good one because when my guy friends get all extra and don't wanna talk about their heartburns I pray for them and keep it moving. I don't have time to be knocking down walls. However, Bianca stayed in there and fought for Roman. She was there as he faced his issues and eventually healed from them. She was his rock. And that right there bothered me because she had her own crap to deal with but she had to hold him up too. Nah man, plus he was constantly being secretive. Roman sucked.
But as always from this author, the humor was great, there was a great group of friends that made you wish they were part of your crew, there was artistic expression, and a couple of nuts who had a problem with others being happy.
Roman Harper, the brooding artist, is back! Heartfelt book picks up shortly after Heartache, rekindling your feels for Roman and Bianca. I just love the two of them together, and their journey to move their relationship into the next stage is a tough one, fraught with Roman's fears and the lurking threat of someone dead set on keeping them apart. Roman just can't lose Bianca, and he'll do anything to make sure he keeps her happy, even if he shoots himself in the foot in the process -- in true Roman fashion.
I love the part New York played in this novel, and I love this couple -- I was so happy to read their happy ending!
Roman Harper is back and in love with one of his best friends, Bianca. They both have a passion for art and Roman creatively shows his passion for “B” in each chapter. "Ro" maybe physically appealing but he definitely isn't perfect. As he continues to try to protect his love from a mysterious stalker, he also risks creating distance between them.
Danielle Allen continues her series with another “who done it” mystery. Readers may have adapted to this format after reading the first volume in the series, Heartache. Readers are taken on a journey of love, loss and family conflict. Will they get a happily ever after or a tragic ending to their love story?
I was given a ARC for an honest review- Volume two starts with, A new relationship is always exciting and challenging when distance is also a factor. Will love be enough? Will you put someone first when your first instinct is to protect what you have worked so hard for. This story keeps you on your toes with all the twists and turns. It's a page turning master piece that will make you happy from page one to the very end.
Fingers crossed for more in this series for not only B and Roman but for the guys as well! Thanks for the read Danielle!
I loved Roman and Bianca in Heartache. I couldn't wait to read Heartfelt when Danielle announced she was writing book two. There is a long list of things I loved in this book. The suspense of another "who done it", more answers from Roman's past, and a splash of Bianca's past. Danielle Allen places you in the story of Roman and Bianca, enabling you to feel the shattering remains of Roman's heart from his past. The best thing about this book is, you see how Roman's heart gets pieced together with the help of Bianca. I had high expectations for this book, and Danielle exceeded them ten fold!
Roman and Bianca are back in book two of the Heartache series. Twists and turns everywhere, who done it, and lots of steaminess going on. We fell in love with Bianca and Roman in book one, and in book two we fall even harder. Roman thinks he's left the past behind him but it keeps rearing its ugly head causing him to second guess his relationship. The long distance relationship is causing both characters to want to be closer to each other but unsure if the other one wants the same. Both characters make you want to shake them until they realize how perfect they are together.
I'm always looking for new authors, and now I've found another to add to my list. I fell in love with both B and Ro. I loved the way they grew together and fought for their love. Their story is one that you want to continue. The book is like a movie who draws you in to their story from the first page and never lets you go. I loved how nothing was perfect and they were flawed characters. Hope that they will eventually be revisited as the move on to the next phase of their life together.
Good Read, BUT- The first book, Heartache, was a fantastic read. Heartfelt was a bit more tedious and felt as if you were re-reading parts of Heartache. Roman and Bianca still have great chemistry, but I think this book could have been merged with the first and shorten a great deal. There is an excerpt for book 3, with Easy, but it's been a few years and I have yet to see it published.
Heartfelt: by Danielle Allen Very much an enjoyable read. Great follow up from Heartache. You really capture who the main characters are and how much one another means to the other. The ending is perfect in a sense if you don't love this read it has a fulfilling ending, but if you love it as much as I did then the ending is perfect to lead into the next if there should be one.
I loved the first book in this series and was looking forward to this one. I liked it, but I didn't love it like the first one.
First of all, I thought it could have been a novella. It was the same exact premise as the first one, mysterious notes and packages, and a list of likely suspects. I would have been ok with that, even though I knew from the first chapter who was sending the threats, but my problem was how repetitive the book was. "I love you" was on just about every page, along with Roman getting startled by Bianca's beauty. She kept telling him "no more secrets" and he kept promising, and then keeping secrets to "protect her". Like I said, if it was a novella, it would have been ok, but over 300 pages of this was too much.
The ending, after all this, was VERY abrupt. Overall, good, but definitely not great.
Ro and B has an undeniable connection. Their relationship was built on friendship first, a solid foundation. Roman and his family issues, especially with his brother, were weighing heavy in his life as well as his love life. His past had such an impact on his relationship with Bianca at times. All she wanted was there to be open dialogue, no secrets. Roman wants to protect her no matter what. His unwillingness to tell her things at times had me frustrated with him. He over thought situations at times, it was maddening!! Bianca was a champ for dealing with him!
Overall….I can’t stand Roman 😂😂 This romance suspense story was wild and had me trying to figure out who it was.
Roman too impulsive and should always stick with art because detective is not it for him. Honestly only Malik could become a detective and he only said a few things but they were the best level headed thing when everything was trying to figure out who it was lol. BIANCA!!! YOU DESERVE BETTER!!!! Still loved her in this book and she basically had ONE RULE for Roman and he just kept doing what he was doing even though she explained why to NOT do that. TEAM BIANCA!!!
Really like the story (of course I would…what Danielle Allen writes I like), but Roman needs to go somewhere lol.
Im loving the series, but this book left me hanging! Are you kidding me?! Where's the ending? Wanted to give it five (5) stars but the ending left too much stuff open! I want to see Bianca's mother cut down a peg or two! What a piece of work!
This book was exhausting. All Roman and Bianca did was say they love each other, hand-wring, keep secrets, not communicate....it just got to be too much. And the “stalker” thing was a bit contrived and when it was resolved it ended really abruptly. Not great honestly.
