Throughout Jewish history, we have had shining examples of exemplary personalities who have demonstrated to us through their actions the way to attain inner harmony. Through the lives that they led and through the teachings that they imparted, they have enabled us to gain insight into how to live more meaningful lives. Many of these personalities were women. It is astonishing how many of the challenges in these women's lives mirror those of modern times. The experiences and acheivements of these women's lives mirror those of of modern times. the experiences and acheivements of these women of the past can provide much needed insight for today's modern women. The goal of this book is to examine the lives of great women from our past. As women, and in particular, as Jewish women today, we are motivated to analyze the lives of these inspiring role models. By tapping into their source of power and strength, we can bring greater fulfillment and completion into our own lives, and into the world at large. By applying the lessons of these great women to our personal lives, we will learn to utilize our unique, feminine capacity to bring about the ultimate rectification and harmonization of ourselves and the world around us, thus emering in the New Era as the Crown of Creation.
I was looking for a book about biblical women and was surprised that I only found an extremely small selection in the library. Mrs. Weisberg is an excellent teacher. There are some amazing stories and lessons in here.
I would not suggest this book to people who have no Torah background. This book is definitely NOT for beginners. However, it is a great book for the advanced Torah learner.
A big problem I did have with this book however, was with the editing. I found so many typos, especially towards the end of the book. I also thought that some chapters were really short and others needed to be expanded upon. The editor should have made the book more cohesive.
On that note, I would have liked there to have been chapters on some very important women in Jewish history like Miriam, Moses's sister. The first chapters and the last chapter, although they had some important and interesting information, I didn't feel were as relevant to women as they could have been.
After reading the forward of this book, I was extremely proud of the author. She pushed for her book to be published and I'm so glad she did. This book is extremely important for both men and women to read but especially, Jewish women, who should know about the great women who came before them and learn from someone as knowledgeable as this author.
