I saw posts on instagram with scenes between Lucien and Juliete, it was quite fun and interesting, so I decided to read the book. Although the premise is quite good, the book might be a little too young adult for me, which may be my fault, I got curious and jumped to the book without checking its category. Besides of that, for me, the pace of the story was a little off, I felt the plot was going too fast but at the same time the scenes were too long and slow. In short, it’s interesting and has potential, but wasn’t exactly for me (which is fine). Ps.: There were some grammar slip-up, it didn’t interfere with the comprehension of the story, but I believe a little bit of polish would improve the reader experience.
I adored this, I loved the characters individually but Alexander has my heart. I enjoyed the flashes of modern vampire lore/fiction, it was well fitting. The ending did feel rushed though, like it could have been another book to give the final fight more depth, but for a first book its incredible. I'm really excited to read whatever comes next from the author. 🖤
