Bel-Tygeon, the fallen god-king of Belaal, has bowed to the Infinite and accepted life as a mortal. Now he is desperate to return to his kingdom. Hunted by his enemies, he accepts refuge among the Eosyths, at the bidding of Serena of Clan Darom. But Serena and her family are also Bel-Tygeon’s enemies, and he must conceal his true name and royal rank from them—even when he realizes that Serena is the woman he has sought for years. The woman he loves. The woman he longs to proclaim as his queen. Yet she can never be his. Serena of Clan Darom wants nothing more than to protect her family and to save her people, the Eosyths, from their many enemies. She cannot afford to fall in love with a madman. A stranger. Yet honor dictates that she must shelter Ty and protect him with her life. Will one act of kindness destroy everything she’s worked for and believed? And how can the unknowable Infinite, worshiped by her lord-father, ever help her in their struggle to survive? Child of Dust, are you My servant?
R.J. Larson is the author of numerous devotionals featured in publications such as Women's Devotional Bible and Seasons of a Woman's Heart. She lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with her husband and their two sons. The Books of the Infinite series marks her debut in the fantasy genre.
R. J. Larson does an amazing job of writing Fantasy and Biblical fiction. If you like this type of book you will love Queen. I did not want to put this book down and read it within two days. The author has done a great job of writing a thrilling non stop fantasy novel. The characters Ty (Bel-Tygeon and Serena are well written and strong characters. Hope to red the first book soon. Loved it and highly recommend this book.
I received a free copy of this book from bookfun.org for my honest opinion and review.
I like the the fact, when reading this book I found Reference to The Bible from beginning to the end. I recommend with book to everyone and anyone that Loves the coming of Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus (THE INFINITE) for He is the Beginning and He is the End. ( I expressed to my sisters, daughter and friends that this book is MUST READ.) I close this rating for her continued Praise and Glory to Our Lord and Father Christ Jesus.
Bel-Tygeon, the god-king of Belaal, has finally admitted that he is a mere mortal and bowed to the Infinite. His sanity returned but he is still in danger from his enemies. He temporarily takes refuge among the Eosyths and falls in love with Serena. He wants her as his queen but it's impossible. Can they trust the Infinite for His perfect plan and to save the kingdom from disaster.
A character can be moved from (shallow) doubts to an all-encompassing, seemingly mature faith in days. And so many of the characters are all-too similar in their personalities and character. The action is sanitized of life’s true atrocities. It all adds up to stereotypical Christian fiction.
Another good story in the series... Had been a while since I read the first book, but I remember very quickly as this story does give another background to read as a stand alone... a good read.
In Queen by R.J. Larson, Bel-Tygeon is the god-king of Belaal. He has just returned to sanity after living as a beast in the forest. Serena of Clan Darom and her younger brother Ayden find Bel-Tygeon who only introduces himself as Ty. Ty wants to return to his land and kingdom, but it is too late in the fall to make the trek before winter. Although Ty falls in love with Serena, he doesn’t see a future with her because a law of his country has a difficult requirement for his queen which Ty would never ask Serena to endure. Serena has plans of her own to marry a high ranking clansman and become a leader in her clan. She never plans to fall in love with a totally unsuitable person.
While this was not my favorite book, I felt it was unfair to assign a low rating to this book because I believe most of the negative aspects originated with me rather than the book itself. This was book two in a series, and I would have been much better off had I read book one first. The list of characters would have been extremely helpful, but unfortunately it was located at the end of the book rather than the beginning, and I found it when it was a bit late to be of much assistance. Also, the reason for the desire for vengeance among the people of the various lands was something I never quite grasped, but perhaps I just missed it. Fantasy is not a genre I normally read so part of my difficulties could have resulted from that. As for good points of the book, I felt it deserved a high rating because of its high quality writing. It included conflict, suspense, and fast-paced action. The characters faced personal dilemmas and weighed their choices and how each would affect others as well as themselves. Ty’s total about-face in beliefs about the Infinite Creator and Who He is was noted throughout the book. He gave continual praise to Him and prayed for direction, protection, and assistance at various times. Araine followed the instructions given by Infinite even when they caused her to tremble in fear. She reminded me of Biblical prophets. This book was not at all boring, and I never felt that it was being repetitious. The product was extremely well crafted. If you enjoy fantasy, this would likely be a wonderful book for you, but I would highly recommend reading book one first. As for me, I might now be persuaded to read book one. Ms. Larson did an awesome job writing this one.

Another good installation in the Infinite books. I think the first in the Realms series had a great affinity to the book of Daniel, and this one had an affinity with Esther.
War of the Spirit has rarely been portrayed with such finesse & discernment. The elements of REDEMPTION: Abundant & Encouraging!Soaking up "Queen" by RJ Larson is like soaking up truth, hope, faith, and joy. It seeped to my soul as I read, as I remembered God's promises and Word. Confirmation after confirmation, hardship after hardship, deliverance after deliverance, battle after battle. All lead to a call of Faith, Hope, and Trust in our Lord God. It clearly established how faith and surrender to the Infinite truly does lead to Him working "All things for GOOD." It isn't a pat answer; it is about FAITH, TRUST, HOPE. I am blessed, truly blessed.
I found NO flaw with the writing. It was perfect, in my opinion. No repetition of ideas or vocabulary that made me say, "You said that already, UGH." Rather every description, every dialogue, every situation which was laid out for the reader was so clear and concise, I WAS THERE. I was transported into the story, and held captive mentally, emotionally, spiritually. It was like watching a film to encourage my spirit to keep on keeping on. I felt a kin-hood with the characters that is rare, as if they exist in an alternate reality, and I had the privilege of reading their testimony firsthand, across all time and space. It is a series that feels like a tangible expression of what Spiritual Warfare is, and it encourages me, convicts me, prods me, and lifts me.
I LOVE this series. There is so much I could say about it, but I refuse to give spoilers. Just, Check out "Realms of the Infinite". If you like this one, you must also read RJ Larson's other series "Books of the Infinite". FABULOUS!
This book is part of a “true” series. Book 1 of the series, “Exiles,” HAS to be read before reading this one. In addition to that I believe that the first series set in this marvelous Fantasyland needs to be read prior to reading this series for the full enjoyment. I have read all of them and LOVED each and every one!
The new characters for this book, especially Serena of Clan Darom, are wonderfully well written and developed. I connected with them and felt like I was a part of the family unit with the annoyances and everything. I really liked seeing the change that had taken place in Bel-Tygeon, or Ty, since the end of Exiles.
I also really enjoyed seeing what the characters from Exiles, that remained in Belaal, were doing and how they had grown in the intervening time between the two books. I was extremely pleased to catch up with Araine and Nikaros.
I loved the way that the clan was run, their traditions, and their sense of honor. They trusted their leader without question and along with him they trusted the Infinite. At times though when decisions needed to be made he didn’t just dictate what would happen. He listened to ideas and suggestions, and then decided.
As with all of the previous books set in this wonderful land R.J. Larson worked multiple Old Testament stories into the novel. I loved trying to spot each one of them.
I received a free eBook copy of this novel through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.
Once I again I am amazed by R.J. Larson's talent for writing fantasy. I was totally swept away to the land of the Eosyths and to the great city of Sulaanc. I was hooked on these books with Prophet and each successive title only draws me further in, Queen was no exception. The sheer amount of detail in the peoples, lands, and customs is a delight to read. And the fact that R.J. loosely weaves Biblical re-tellings into her tales is major bonus in my opinion. In Queen I saw bits of Esther, Nebuchadnezzar, and Jael.
Queen is an exciting and engrossing tale leaving me unable to put my Kindle down. I breathlessly turned the pages wondering what would happen next to my favorite characters and how the Infinite would move. With each of the books in this series I have felt drawn closer to God and even a little convicted at times, “Child of Dust, are you My servant?”
R.J. Larson is a woman of talent, writing fantasy and Biblical fiction equally as well. I've never been overly big on fantasy, even Christian, but she has convinced me otherwise. I eagerly await and devour each of her books. And Queen is book you won't want to miss!
(I received a copy of this e-book from the author via TBCN in exchange for my honest review.)
Combine biblical fiction fantasy, the re-telling of biblical stories, intrigue, drama, suspense, plus vivid description of the people, customs and the area for an incredible read. This book will inspire the reader with faith. We go to the city of Sulaanc in the land of the Eosyths. The fallen god-king of Belaal wants to return to his kingdom but instead accepts refuge among the Eosyths. He must deceive them by hiding his name and rank. Serena of Clan Darom is in the process of protecting her family and the Eosyths. She must protect this stranger to maintain her honor. What lies ahead is an adventure you will want to Read. I volunteered to read this eBook. Thank you to book fun.org and the author for the eBook. My opinion is my own.
By far my favorite book out of the Realms of the Infinite series! The love story between Ty and Serena is simply beautiful! And I loved seeing how greatly Ty changed from the man he was in Exiles. It was so difficult to see the way the he treated Araine and all of his other servants. If I'm being honest, I wanted strangle him in almost every chapter lol But it was all worth it to see how the Infinite humbled him in this book and how he turned his life around for Him. The action and plot kept me on the edge of my seat though! Mrs. Larson did such a wonderful job! And let's be honest, the cover for the book? Absolutely gorgeous!
Queen is the second installment of the Realms of the Infinite series. I really enjoyed this book. I will be going back to read the first installment of the series to catch up. I, also, look forward to reading more by this author. 5 stars. I received this book from bookfun.org in exchange for my honest review, which was given.
This is the second book I have read by R J Larson, and I must say that I really enjoyed Queen. The author does an excellent job keeping the story moving and exciting. I couldn't put the book down, and I must say that any reader who loves fantasy and Biblical fiction, will love this book. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars
I've enjoyed the series watching characters change and grow from earlier in the series was great and amazing though it's missing the punch of Prophet and Judge..
I absolutely LOVE Larson's books. I truly feel like I know the characters (I miss them when I'm done with the books!) and Larson does an incredible job transporting you back to OT Biblical times.
Please keep the Books of the Infinite coming, Ms Larson!
