Ah! I can’t describe or put into words how happy I am with this third and final book. When I say I demolished it, I mean it. It took me a few days but only because I had to work and sleep to function, otherwise let’s be honest I would have picked it up and read it until I physically couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer or I’d finished it.
I like how we open with a bit of a flashback, it hasn’t been long like with some series but enough that you struggle to recall all the details and adding this in brings all you read previously rushing back and I loved it!
Adrien continues to be the golden retriever you fell in love with in the previous books, but his passion and just pure refusal to give up on Natalya is annoyingly beautiful! We don’t spend a lot of time with Kasien and Kaira but when we do it is totally worth it and reminds us where it all started.
Lucien, oh Lucien.. I wanted to hate you but I really couldn’t.. I really hope you give us more of him and he finds someone equally as psychotic.
I think I got to about 75% and honestly started to panic, I really wasn’t sure what was going to happen and I just didn’t know if we’d get our HEA - but we did thank god!
I love the little nods to certain films & series without being too obvious and how as previous books there wasn’t any repeating or too many words describing things, it was a perfect balance.
The tears I cried in this. Natalya’s battle with her self and reality. Couldn’t put it down. The perfect wrap up to the four of them. The yearning is delicious and perfectly possessive. Adrien is etched into my brain and I don’t think I’ll ever truly let him go.
I honestly don’t even know how to put into words how excited I was for this book.
The beginning had me feeling so anxious, and I won’t lie it took me a little while to fully connect with the characters and their emotions. But once I did, I couldn’t stop reading.
Natalya’s mental health journey and her struggle to separate reality from her own mind were portrayed so beautifully and with so much care. It was heartbreaking, emotional, and incredibly well written.
Adrien’s POV completely stole my heart. Watching him fight his own demons while refusing to give up on Nat was everything. The love, the devotion, and the undeniable connection between them were absolutely incredible. 🤯 He truly became her safe place and the one person who could help bring her back to reality.
And Church… 👀🫶 OMG. That’s all I’m going to say. 🫠
If I had one small critique, I just wish we’d gotten a little more of Kasien’s POV. It felt like he was pushed into the background a bit, and I would have loved to spend more time in his head.
Overall, though, I absolutely loved this book and am so happy I got the chance to read it.
I received an ARC for this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I was already a huge fan of this series before I applied for the ARC and had read the ARC of the second book in this series as well.
What can I say…. I absolutely devoured this book. It had my heart rate jumping, I was full of anxiety, it ripped my heart out. And then put me all back together again. I could not shake the feeling this book and series gave me for a few days not going to lie 😭 I’m still thinking about them. 🖤
Vermilion chains being the last and final book for these characters was perfect. Adrien is perfect. The whole thing was incredibly passionate and heart felt.
Alexandra taking us into Natalya’s mind set was creepy.. but like in the best most interesting way. It gave me this unsettled feeling but also broke my heart entirely because what do you mean our rambunctious, confident Natalya went through all that.
If you haven’t read this series and want something all consuming, this is the series for you!!
♾️/5⭐️ Dear Alexandra, you made me cry during the first chapter, this has never happened before. Thank you. Sincerely, me. Oh. My. God. Vermilion mercy and Vermilion vows broke my heart, Vermilion chains broke it even more and then healed my broken heart more than any book ever has. As I said, it made me cry during the first chapter, and it made me cry during a s*x scene, that has NEVER happened. Adrien and Natalya’s relationship were so beautifully written, I felt every single emotion they both felt during the whole book, from their broken hearts, minds and souls to their happily ever after. This book seriously healed my heart and soul in so many ways, all I can say is thank you ❤️🔥
~I suppose he is both my madness and my clarity. And I truly don’t want a way out.~
*ARC review* thank you so much to the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book, I’m forever thankful 🫶🏼
This trilogy will forever sit happily in my brain. Not just because I love the characters, which, I do, but the author is fantastic as a person and has a knack for creating a highly enjoyable world.
Upon reading the dedication and seeing that this will follow Natalya who has endured torture and abuse, which has left her confused between reality and what her fractured brain has conjured up. This can create for quite distressing moments, especially as Adrien is continuing to fight for the love that their younger selves committed too.
Whilst part of me wanted to be a Lucien lover in the weird appreciation club, Kas and Adrien cannot be replaced. The decisions that they are required to make work as a fast paced action movie, which I’m all for. The ending ties everything up beautifully in such a heartfelt way and I can only be thankful for the opportunity and journey we have been on. Excited for what continues in the Vermilion universe.
I am completely speechless. If I could give Vermilion Chains by Alexandra N. an actual 6-star rating, I would do it in a heartbeat!
This book was an absolute masterpiece and easily the best conclusion to a series I have read all year.
I absolutely loved this series. It is officially the best thing I have read all year.
I have never been wrung out by a book like this. I cried my eyes out, I laughed so hard my stomach hurt, and I was literally kicking my feet in pure excitement. The angst and tension are unmatched.
The "emotionally unstable disaster squad" has my whole heart.
Alexandra writes characters with so much depth that you can’t help but fall for them.
Also..... I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I might actually tolerate Blondie now.
I. The way this man yearns and talks her through it, is just *chefs kiss* II. Five fucking stars AGAIN! THE FUCKING CHURCH SCENE?! SIGN ME TF UP!! THE PLANE SCENE?! SIGN ME TF UP!! Ok, now let's stop joking for a second. *Whispering* I'm not joking. Sign me up please, and thank you. Anyway, the way I was hoping and praying they would make it and would have their happily ever after was insane. They way I couldn't breathe and started to tear up when the "I can't breathe without him" line came - no comment, I'm still trying to recover from it. III. Last but not least, THANK YOU to the author for writing one of my all time favorite books. Thank you for creating these characters, their world, and let us in it for a roller-coaster of emotions. I can't say it enough but I'm so proud of you and your amazing work.
Ugh I will never get over this series. Every book was 6 stars and this one had me sobbing the most 😭 all I wanted to do was hug natalya and adrien and tell them they would be okay. The YEARNING. Getting to see kasien and kiaras povs again!??!! Obsessed. I absolutely love Alexandra’s writing and she is now a definite auto buy author 🫶❤️ it’s definitely dark and has its triggers so don’t go in blind. Getting to see inside natalyas thoughts was just what I needed, seeing how people deal with trauma differently and seeing her start to heal was just perfect. Even seeing a different side to the villain had me questioning everything. ADRIEN MORETTI the man you are. The way he loves her so unconditionally is divine. I’m rambling but I just love them all so much 🥹 anyway what I’m trying to say is this book is just perfection and I will never stop thinking about xo *a r c*
I just wanted to say I am so thankful for the opportunity for the arc of book 2 and 3 ! This book truly means a lot to me . I have never felt so many emotions before !!!
This truly is one of the best series out there if you liked the edge of darkness you will really enjoy this series .the characters are literally everything especially Adrien ,if you love dangerous hearing and and mmc’s that will burn everything for the women you are in the right place !!
Our boys have been through so much to find out it was all a lie and now they need to find a way to make everything right without their girls getting hurt again !!!
This book is so so good, I didn’t want it to end. How Natayla’s chapters are written is impeccable! You don’t feel like you’re reading about a character, you are the character!
The writing = phenomenal.
The characters = obsessive, romantic and a little insane.
The storyline = devastating (but in a good way)
The way you’ll be obsessed with all of the books and everything about them! Just pick them up and dive into their world, you won’t regret it!
This series’s and especially this book have made me laugh, cry and smile. My heart leap and drop. Some moments so chocking I had to put the book down even for laughing. This series are going to be with me for a while and I can say that Vermilion Chains is definitely the best book in the series’s. An applause for the author and her characters!! I am so excited to see what she has planned for this universe!!
Arc review but 💯 honest . I loooved this trilogy . First book I found it randomly on tik tok and after that I became obsessed. It’s one of my fav trilogy’s . All I’m going to say is church scene 🥵
What a beautiful way to end such an incredible trilogy.
This was one of my favourite books in the series, I can’t decide between vermilion vows wnd vermillion chains ahhh!!. It was so emotionally heavy and beautifully written that I genuinely felt every page. The amount of pain, longing and emotional messiness throughout this book was done so incredibly well. Every character felt so real, so flawed and so deeply human that it was impossible not to become completely invested.
Adrien and Natalya have officially become one of my favourite couples. Their love for each other was so all consuming, obsessive and unwavering that you can’t help but feel everything alongside them. They go through so much individually and together, and watching them fight through all of that made their story even more powerful. The way their emotional struggles were portrayed felt so raw and authentic, and it added so much depth to an already incredible romance.
The tension, the angst and the heartbreak were executed perfectly. There were so many moments where my heart genuinely ached for them, but I couldn’t stop flicking through the pages because I just needed to know how it would all unfold.
It was also lovely to read about kiara and kasien but Adrien absolutely stole the show for me, love that man down !!
And those epilogues!!!!!! they were absolutely perfect. So emotional, so real and honestly the most satisfying way this trilogy could have ended. They gave me everything I didn’t even know I needed, and I finished the book feeling completely fulfilled while still not wanting to say goodbye to these characters.
I honestly can’t recommend this trilogy enough. If you love dark romance with beautifully complex characters, emotional depth, incredible tension and a love story that completely consumes you, this is one you need to pick up. It’s heartbreaking, addictive and impossible to put down.
An absolutely phenomenal conclusion to an unforgettable trilogy. It was an absolute pleasure to read, and I’ll be thinking about Adrien and Natalya for a very long time. I am so sad that it’s over but I was so happy to read the authors note at the end. Can’t wait for more incredible reads from this amazing author! Thank you so much Alexandra.
In this book, we finish the story that began with Kasien and Kiara in the first book. In Vermilion Vows, we ended with Kasien and Adrien rescuing Kiara, but at the end, we discover that Natalya was being held there as well. Adrien had spent six years thinking Natalya was married, and in the end, he discovers that nothing was as he thought. Natalya is mentally unwell, and nothing is as she imagines. Adrien will have to fight for her to bring her back and prove to her that he truly exists and has always loved her, although it won't be easy. Meanwhile, they will all have to find a solution together to live peacefully and happily.
Just when everything seemed to be going well, they have to save Adrien from prison 😭 The ending is perfect for all four of them. And Adrien and Natalya having four children??? CRYING. In the end, everyone is happy without anyone chasing them. I really loved how the saga concludes.
Natalya & Adrien 💓 Kiara & Kasien 💓
esp:
I loved that we got to be in Natalya’s mind when she was still struggling to know for sure what is true and what is illusion, because it made so much more interesting to read how she copes with everything that is happening.
Adrien was as always- best man a girl can dream🥰 The way he never thought about Natalya as crazy or that he was planning on “going crazy” with her was such a good moment! ❤️🔥
Also a little glimpse of Kiara and Kasien was such a good way to put a ending to their story and I loved how it ended for them❤️
I can definitely say that ai loved this book as much as the another two! This series are incredible and I want more and more from this vermilion world😀🙈
This trilogy broke my heart and warmed it at the same time. What incredible stories, sad and beautiful all at once. I can't describe how much I loved it, I loved the characters, I loved the writing, the characters' inner thoughts? Incredible. My favorite character was Adrien, I loved his humor and the way he idolizes Natalia. Alexandra, please don't stop writing, I'm waiting for more books 🤍
This whole trilogy was absolutely incredible, the author is absolutely amazing in the way she writes and the worlds she creates!!
I was on the edge of my seat constantly praying that Nat returns to her normal safe and forgives Adrien
They are all finally back together but I am so not ready to let go of any of them and I just want these books to continue so I can see where their life carries on
Thank you so much for Alexandra for creating these books I’ve totally fell in love with 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Received an ARC for this book and can without a doubt say it’s become one of my top favourite series of all time love the characters, the writing, the story amazing read , 5 ⭐️series
WHAT a series!!!!! The yearning that the MMC’s shamelessly show is amazing. I loved this whole series so much and there was always something going on to keep me reading way past my bedtime. I can’t wait for more books to come out in this world!
This was the perfect ending I literally couldn’t get enough & read it in 1 day!! I love all of the main characters and the stories they all have. I’m going to be in such a slump now
"My mind is your playground. My heart is your shelter. My skin is your canvas. "
I love this series! The yearning, the jokes, even the hurting, it made me fall in love with these characters. I don't want to say much and maybe this is not for everyone, but I hope you pick it up and love these characters as much as I do.
The final book in the Vermilion series which ends in a satisfying conclusion, we find out where Natalya has been all this time, who's she's been with and what she's been doing all this time. 👀
The ending of the second book left the impression that Natalya isn't her normal self and essentially the book continues from this and the group try to get Natalya back to normal and they hire a psychotherapist to help her regain her normalcy. And the reconnection of Natalya and Adrien again! 😌
This also takes more of a deeper dive in Kasien and Kiara’s relationship and where they go from here, establishing boundaries and stuff like that. 🙈
I'm really happy I had an opportunity to be an arc reader for Alexandra throughout the whole Vermilion series which was also her debut novel and I'm very pleased with the conclusion of Kasien, Kiara, Adrien and Natalya’s story! My only negative because I love him so much was the lack of Kasien POV. ☹️
So now this over, I can say:
My Favourite Book: Vermilion Mercy My Favourite Couple: Kiara and Kasien My Favourite Male Character: Adrien My Favourite Female Character: Kiara
This series may be a dark romance but the love between the characters themselves I don't consider to be too dark personally and I'd recommend it to readers as a first book to get into the dark romance genre. Once again, really enjoyed this whole series and thanks Alexandra for the ride with Vermilion Series and I can't wait to read more from her. 💃🏾
