4.5 from the ending
This one is hard, on paper (literally) its good and has all the right stuff. Characters are great and the spice is lovely. The premise is great, it's been done before plenty of times but it's an easy premise to do wildly different. And there in lies my problem with the book, the story itself. I won't spoil it but basically the MC barely uses his mechanical skills, they make a bunch of really weird decisions that don't really go with the current situation, the entire middle of the book is just them doing random quests for no real reason while apparently the country is falling apart around them. It did kinda pick up and work more for me towards the end but I'm on the fence about continuing this series, its sad because Leon's other current series Rise of the Class Smith is on of my favorite series I've read this year. This story just doesn't click with me the way I think the Author instead. I'm sure many people will enjoy this one though.

Not for me I'm afraid Leon
Made it to 56% then have up. Sorry, was just a bit.....I don't know.....maybe you'd describe it as a stuttering style. As if it was being dictated. Sorry can't really describe what I mean to say. Not one of your best though.

Excellent world building! MC is well rounded. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Great beginning to a new series!!

Outstanding book!
Mister west, always writes. A good book, put this one, it's simply outstanding, good story, line likable characters good fights in a hero that looks for people

Interesting plot and characters. The editing is good and the story flows really well. The romance and relationships, like all Leon West stories, was lacking. Spice is meaningless, has no emotional pay off for the characters or the story, and it's not used as a confirmation of feelings.
It's hard to describe, but the "romance" feels all so temporary, like there's no devotion to each other. The characters relationships to each other are never their 1st priority or even an equal of a priority to their main goals. It feels more like colleagues who are sleeping together while they're on assignment rather than a genuine romantic relationship.
I recommend it if you're looking for a fun adventure novel. If you're looking for any kind of significant romance or meaningful relationships then I'd give it a pass.
