Genuinely creepy at the beginning and really clever. However I felt it got a bit repetitive and all a bit rushed at the end

This book is truly incredible. It’s so creative and genuinely gave me chills. I read this under a blanket with goosebumps.

The author trips me up though because I can barely find any information about her. After trawling her instagram, my findings suggest she is an English expat who now lives in Abu Dhabi and has a toddler who is a picky eater.

The trouble is she uses AI generated images on her Instagram to promote her books. I am now worried she uses generative AI in her writing. I loved this book and didn’t detect any discrepancies that would make me think it is not human made. I can’t be sure so I feel weird recommending it. I did truly enjoy my reading experience, though.

Fast and wonderful!

A perfectly creepy story with dark undertones. If you like Coraline, then you'll enjoy this book.
The story ended too soon. That's how much I wanted it to drag out. The ending was rushed, for sure. You kind of have to suspend logic a bit when time suddenly speeds up in the story. Everything culminated too fast and really, is my only gripe. But every page raced along with witty banter and questions about morality versus survival.
I will read this every October.

Perfect Halloween Read

I got this because I liked the title. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the book. Clever plot and well written. The perfect book to read in October.
